I was looking forward to reading this book having read the previous titles by this author and can say I was not let down! Sage is great at writing a super quick and delicious romance that will leave the reader wanting more. My only complaint was that the pacing of the book was pretty different between the first and second half; the first half way pretty slow paced in terms of character development and the second half nearly gave me whiplash. With that being said, I will always recommend Lyla Sage to anyone wanting a short and sweet romance. Yeehaw!
This is the story I was most looking forward to in the series. Teddy is full of energy, is the life of the party and always ends up on top. Suddenly she finds things are changing—her best friend is recently engaged, her career has run its course and to make matters worse she is forced to work for her archenemy Gus Ryder. These two have always traded insults and have never had anything nice to say to or about each other. Things are about to change as they are see each other in a different light and are forced to accept the fact that they are attracted to each other.
This was above and beyond the best in this series. I have wanted to read Teddy and Gus’ story since book one!! This was a lot of fun, filled with great banter, chemistry and of course all the feels!!

Thank you, NetGalley, for the blessing of reading this novel early! 🙏📚
Lyla Sage has truly outdone herself with this one! I found myself devouring this book and could not put it down once I started. 📖💨
Tropes I loved:
Single Father 👨👧
Nanny x Boss 👩🍼
Grumpy x Sunshine ☀️🌧️
Forced Proximity 🏠
Age Gap (8 years—not bad at all!) 🕰️
Enemies to Lovers ❤️🔥
Best Friend's Brother 👀
Trigger Warnings: Sick family members, caregiver situations.
THEY ARE EVERYTHING TO ME!! 😭💖
The build-up between Gus and Teddy was unbelievable! I was shaking in my boots the entire time. 👢✨ This is by far my favorite book of the series. Watching Teddy and Gus’s relationship bloom, alongside all the adorable moments with Riley, was nothing short of heartwarming. 💕 Lyla Sage’s world-building and character development are just chef’s kiss 👩🍳💫 — her writing gets better with each book!
Slight Spoiler Warning ⚠️
Seeing two of the strongest characters fall in love, slowly letting their guards down around each other, was simply fantastic. 💘 And Gus! Watching him go from possessive to realizing he never wants to extinguish Teddy's fire... I was SCREAMING 😍🔥. The author’s note about this novel was beautiful and inspiring. As someone who dreams of writing their own book, it really hit me in the feels. 🥹✨
I also really connected with Teddy’s journey of self-discovery. The way she learns to embrace where she’s at in life—despite feeling "behind" compared to others her age—was SO relatable. 🥲 It was such a touching reminder that everyone grows at their own pace, and I’m sure many readers will feel seen. 🙌
And Gus... let’s just say he reminds me so much of my own boyfriend, and I fell in love with him even more because of it! 💖🥰
Spice Rating: 3/5 🌶️
The romance was built on love, not just heat, which made it all the more perfect! 💞
Also, that peek at Cam & Dusty at the end? 👀 I am SO excited for book four! I just know Lyla is going to nail it once again, and I can’t wait to watch their romance unfold next! 😍✨

I have been waiting for Gus and Teddy's story since finishing Done and Dusted. Lost and Lassoed did not disappoint. This book was steamy but also very emotional. It highlights the complexity of life and how things may not always go according to your plan, but can still lead to great things.
Another wonderful addition to the Rebel Blue Ranch series! This was the absolute best and exactly what I had hoped for Gus and Teddy. I had been waiting to read this and was not disappointed. Everything changes for Teddy and Gus after being thrown together for the summer due to different circumstances. These two start figuring out that they are more similar than they thought and that slowly changes they way that they view each other. All of this leads to an epic conclusion for the two of them and a HEA. And that cliff hanger! I can't wait for the next story!
Book #3 of the Rebel Blue Ranch series might be my favorite yet! This book focuses on Gus and Teddy, and I think all of us have been waiting for this book since reading Done and Dusted. I went into this super excited for the enemies-to-lovers dynamic, but this story was also so beautiful and heartfelt.
Things I Loved:
-Teddy Anderson is my favorite character in this series, and getting to know her on a deeper level was so special
-The themes that were dealt with in this book, such as father-daughter relationships, best friends growing apart, etc.
-The Ryder family continues to be one of my favorite fictional families
Things I Didn't Love:
-NOTHING. I absolutely adored this book.
As soon as I met Gus and Teddy in Done and Dusted, I was so excited for their eventual love story. This was a great addition to the Rebel Blue Ranch books and I think any romance reader who is a fan of both the enemies to lovers as well as single dad x nanny will enjoy this one. The tension between these two is absolutely delicious. Lyla's books just keep getting better and better.
I have loved every book in this series so far and Lost and Lassoed is no exception. I have been waiting for a Teddy and Gus story since they first graced the pages of Done and Dusted and their story did not disappoint. I never thought I would care so much about a family of small town ranchers but Lyla Sage changed my mind.
Lost and Lassoed was full of so much heart and nuance. Lyla Sage treats her characters with care and grace, showing us that people are not always what they appear to be on the surface. This series just keeps getting better! And what a cliffhanger for the fourth book!!
While this book could be read as a standalone, readers would most benefit from reading the two other books in the series first. What sets this book apart for me was the depth of relationships and the growth we saw in the characters, and having more context for that would make the experience better for readers. I love Teddy and Riley, and you really grow to love Gus from being in his head and learning about why he is the way he is.
OMG!!!! After spending two books watching Gus and Teddy at each other’s throats we finally got their book. It was perfection ❤️
This book had not only my favourite romance trope enemies to lovers but also forced proximity and single dad x nanny. This was a great addition to the Rebel Blue series!
Book 3 in the Rebel Blue Ranch series does not disappoint. This is a classic enemies to lovers story, as Teddy and Gus both feature rather prominently in the first two books of the series. By setting up their rivalry early on, we get to focus on their relationship and all the delightful tension between them, Teddy (Theodora) has been best friends with Emmy Ryder for most of her life. That means she's known Gus, Emmy's older brother, for just as long, She is passionate, creative and a little bit wild while Gus is settling down to raise his young daughter. They never ever got along... until they had to. The Rebel Blue books are a great modern take on the romance novel; these are cowboys and they have all those rough edges... but they also have real life concerns like ADHD, anxiety, divorce, raising children and aging parents that make them just a little more relatable. When the dust settles, Teddy and Gus not only have a lot of spicy moments, they define family in a new way.
An absolutely fabulous read! Dynamic characters and the western setting make this a winner. Teddy and Gus are adorable! I can't wait for the next installation.
This is my favorite so far from Rebel Blue Ranch, which is surprising since I loved book two an unbelievable amount. The tension is top notch. Teddy and August's dynamic is a classic through romance books: they hate each other, or so they think. As they spend the summer together, with half of it meaning they're living in the same house, they realize they don't know the other as well as they thought. The pay off is explosive, and unputdownable.
Thank you so much Random House for this e-arc in exchange for an honest and free review!
I wish I could tell you every single little thing about this book but just know that I absolutely adored it and as soon as I was done I immediately wanted to start it again!!
The first scene where we see Teddy and Gus interact with set the tone for the entire first action of the book. I cannot get over my love of these two!! And you all know I go on and on about how children are written in romance or books in general but Gus’s daughter is simply perfect and we love her!! And some amazing coparenting is on display here!! I’ve been in my single dad romance era along with my cowboy and sports romances lately!
Lyla has done it again! I fell in love with her series and read them each in one sitting. This book had a swoon worthy plot with a kick of spice!
Oh my goshhhh. Teddy and Gus have my ENTIRE heart. I love them so much. Seeing them finally admit their attraction to one another and then finallyyyyy admit their feelings was such a fun ride!!!
My favorite of the series!! I ate it up and spit it out and ate it up again!!! Love love loved the characters and story! So fun and the best tropes.
I was so excited for Teddy’s book (she was the standout side character in the first two books) but I just cannot with Lyla Sage’s sex scenes. Mustache ride?! I actually gagged reading that sentence. Her word choice leaves a lot to be desired.
There was so much potential here, but it all fell flat. The snarky banter between Teddy and Gus I remember from the other books is gone. They fall for each other super fast but it’s all told, not shown. They talk about really enjoying quiet domestic moments together over the summer but there’s almost none of that shown on page? Teddy and Riley (the kid she’s nannying) might honestly have more on page time together than Gus and Teddy.
Overall, this was a disappointment - lack of on-page character growth and chemistry plus cringe-worthy sex scenes continue to make this series a miss for me.
don’t know where to start with the epicness that is Lost & Lassoed but Lyla Sage gave me everything I wanted and more with Teddy and Gus! If I could give this book infinity stars I would. It is a true loathe to love story so the banter is just chef’s kiss🤌🏻🤌🏻. There’s just so much to say but I don’t want to give too much away.
Not only is the relationship between Teddy & Gus so good, the relationship between Teddy and her dad had me calling my dad just to talk. Not to mention how cute Riley is and her bond with Teddy was so special. Thank you so much @thedialpress and @randomhouse for the arc, I’m already wanting to have a reread!
