huge smooch on the lips and the biggest yeehaw in the world to netgalley for approving my request for this arc- i think that i lost all feeling in my legs when i saw that email to be quite honest. something about little ole me? i been waitin on this one since DAY 1. done and dusted changed my life, and teddy was one of the big reasons why.

immediately i felt drawn to her formidable, vibrant, and shining presence.. and for a lot of reasons, i feel very similar to teddy. so getting to have her story with gus a little bit early just meant more to me than words can explain.

all the love i had for teddy, magnified X a million even within the first 10% of this book.. shes just the most fabulous girl and i cant wait for her to shine in the spotlight when this releases in november.

my favorite part of this story was getting a front row seat of gus getting to know teddy- even though everyone already knows the bombshell that she is- gus got to see the side of her that very few know, and watching him be so drawn to her and fall in love with all that she is... MY HEART WAS GONEEEE.

lyla goes three for three with this next installment of her sweet, swoony, heartfelt western series. everytime i go back to meadowlark i feel like im home <3 youre not going to want to miss this one !!!!! out november 5th !!!!

If you know me, then you know how much I love a cowboy romance. Cowboys, ranches, big families, down to earth characters, love stories, and, usually, some good old fashioned country western humor. What's not to love? But this book was so much more than that to me. At 4%, this book immediately became my favorite of the series. (And dare I say it, I think my favorite cowboy romance ever!)

August "Gus" Ryder is a single dad rancher who needs child care for the summer. Theodora "Teddy" Andersen is his little sister's best friend who just lost her job and doesn't know what to do next. They HATE each other, but they both love Riley, Gus's little girl. So, they try to put their hate aside and make it work for her. As they begin to see each other in a different light, you can imagine what happens next. Witty banter, forced proximity, chemistry that is off the charts, and a slow-burning emotional connection!

So why is it my favorite? The answer is Theodora Andersen. While reading about Teddy, I felt like I was reading about myself. Her struggles with her friendship with Emmy, her uncertainness of her career, and her constant worrying about her family was all so relatable. Especially her feelings when it came to the changes in her friendship with Emmy. When she says... "...we were in different phases of our lives, and it scared me. Emmy had always needed me. We were each other's number one. Now she had Brooks, and I was terrified that she wouldn't need me the way she used to -- that she wouldn't need me the way I needed her anymore." ...it felt like she took the words right out of my head. Reading Teddy's journey with Emmy through this new phase of their friendship was so refreshing. It made me feel seen, and was a perspective I don't usually see in romance.

And, let's be honest, Gus was a big reason I loved this book too! He's thoughtful, caring, a little grumpy, and the best dad. The way he falls in love with Teddy was wonderful. (The steam he was giving off didn't hurt either! Swoon!) I can only hope to find my own August Ryder someday. He's definitely earned his spot on my book boyfriend pyramid!

Also, WARNING! The author's note at the end literally brought me to tears.

Lost & Lassoed is a perfect continuation of the Rebel Blue series. You will laugh, you will cry, and you will absolutely fall in love with grumpy Gus and sunshine Teddy. They've been "enemies" their whole lives - always irritating each other and taking jabs whenever possible - but things just might change when they both get a new perspective for the summer. Relationships, romance, spice, banter, and the ever beautiful Rebel Blue Ranch - this book has it all.

Single dad, grumpy/sunshine, enemy to lovers, cowboy romance.

Lyla Sage's characters and stories have layers and she showcases that with Gus and Teddy's book. Relationships are a central theme in the Rebel Blue Ranch series, but its never solely the romantic ones. I appreciated the attention to the changing nature of long term friendships and highlighting how special father-daughter relationships are.

Recommend for all romance readers and those who enjoy strong female characters. Warning readers may cry.

WOW, okay. This is the best of the three books so far. They’ve all been great, but this one is spectacular. Let me break this down for you:

small town vibes
swoony cowboy
single dad who coparents well
part time live-in nanny/close proximity
perfect mix of sweet & spicy
enemies to lovers
The sweetest little girl with the hottest dad is in sudden need of childcare. His biggest “enemy” (sister’s best friend) is the perfect option, but can they get along?

I really thought Lyla Sage’s writing got even more refined and thoughtful in this book. It’s a cowboy romance, sure, but it’s a lot more than that. It’s emotional, sometimes heavy, and centered around family, both blood and found. I absolutely loved it.

Thank you to Netgally for approving this ARC!

Omg this book was overall just so much FUN to read! I honestly cannot remember the last time I had this good of a time reading a book! This is the best book in the Rebel Ranch series so far by a mile! I also would like to make it know that the first two books are also amazing and I think readers should check them out, but they are not necessary to understand the plot of this book!

Gus and Teddy were such an amazing couple to read about and they complimented each other so well. I usually do not like the enemies to lovers trope in a contemporary romance but I feel like Sage wrote it in such a realistic and engaging way that I ended up absolutely LOVING! Also who can dislike a single dad and nanny trope??

I also am obsessed with the set up for Wild and Wrangled that we saw throughout the entire book and know that one is going to be equally amazing! April cannot come fast enough and the little expert shown at the end of the book is fantastic!

It was indeed all about the cowboys this summer and I decided to hop on this trend with Lost and Lassoed. Lyla Sage is a fan favorite in this subgenre and this is the first I’ve read from her. Now all I want to do is double back and read the other two in this series because this was a wild ride. This hate-to-love romance between chaotic fashion-minded Teddy Anderson, out of a job and down on her luck, and far too dependable Gus Ryder, the one man she cannot stand, brought on the heat. I have always had a soft spot for forced proximity romances but I must say, forced proximity but cowboy is on a completely different level. Sage composes this quiet vulnerability as these two cohabitate and open up to one another in their shared evenings. Teddy is definitely my favorite, charming, but equipped with a rough edge to match. THE cowboy romance heroine of cowboy romance heroines. Lost and Lassoed is my first Lyla Sage and it certainly won’t be my last. Just the perfect summer read!

I do not have words to express how much I loved this book!

This story was so emotional, tender, and heartwarming. I loved seeing Teddy and Gus come together, and the big moment at the end almost had me in tears. I can’t wait for everyone to read this!

Welcome back to The Rebel Blue Ranch! The third book in this 4 book series follows chaotic and charismatic Teddy and grumpy single dad Gus through their tension filled summer where heartfelt moments of true tenderness leave them both questioning everything they thought they knew about one another. I absolutely devoured this book from the sarcasm and snarky banter to the spice in this small town romance only left me wanting more.

I love this series! Gus and Teddy were feisty and sexy, and I loved how they opened up and realized that love and hate are two sides of the same coin (cheesy but true in this case!). I thought the aspect of Gus being a single dad was a really wholesome dynamic, as well as Teddy being her dad’s caretaker. Now they get to big a big happy family and I have all the feels.

The antics at Rebel Blue Ranch continue in "Lost and Lassoed" by Lyla Sage!

After two books of banter and bickering in the background, it is finally time for Gus and Teddy's time to shine. Sage had a big responsibility with taking on these two beloved characters and she did not disappoint in crafting this enemies-to-lovers story.

For fans of the previous books, "Lost and Lassoed" delivers a gratifying continuation. The characters you’ve loved are given more space to grow and evolve, and their storylines feel both satisfying and fresh. Sage’s skillful narrative ensures that while you’re revisiting old friends, their journeys continue to unfold in surprising and delightful ways.

Overall, "Lost and Lassoed" is a testament to Lyla Sage’s ability to weave a compelling story with characters that linger long after the last page is turned. It’s a must-read for fans of the series and anyone who appreciates well-drawn characters and engaging dialogue.

Theodora Anderson has known and delighted in tormenting her best friend’s older brother, August Ryder, all of her life. However, after losing her job and feeling a bit lost, Teddy reluctantly agrees to become Gus’s part-time nanny for the summer.

In forced proximity, Teddy and Gus can no longer deny their underlying attraction. Spending time together allows them to see another side of each other and slowly grow closer. All confusing Gus feelings aside, Teddy loves spending time with Gus’s daughter, Riley, and she worries what a potential relationship with Gus would mean for all those she loves.

I loved the grumpy/sunshine dynamic between Teddy and Gus. They liked to get a rise out of one another, but managed to never take it too far (without apologizing) or make it feel juvenile. The banter and communication was also top tier. Watching Teddy and Gus figure out their feelings while openly communicating made their love story even better.

Lost and Lassoed, in my opinion, is the best book in the Rebel Blue Ranch series and I hope to see more of Teddy and Gus in Cam’s story next year.

Continuing to be obsessed with these books!! I really needed Teddy and Gus’ story but I’m glad we waited until now.

Teddy and Gus both love so big, and I love how the author brought out truth soft sides (while torturing them in the first place).

Plus I always love how co-patenting works with Gus and Cam. It’s beautiful.

Last book coming up!!!

I had not read any of the other books in this series yet so I was curious to read this one. It is a stand alone as I'm sure the others are. The covers are so great! The story is good but reading "Teddy baby" made me cringe every time I came across it. Contemporary romance is my favorite genre and what I read most of the time. Lost and Lassoed was a great enemies to lovers and forced proximity story. I don't think I could be friends with Teddy. I just didn't relate to her at all mostly because she is described as loud but I thought her bond with Gus' daughter was really sweet. I admired her creative talents and interest in plants. It was a good 4 star read. No real wow factor so I probably won't read the rest in the series.

When I tell you I screamed when I received this ARC. I love me some cowboy romances and Lyla Sage does them so well. Her books are fluffy, spicy, and pure perfection.

Lost and Lassoed focuses on Gus and Teddy. I’ve been WAITING for their story and Ms. Sage didn’t disappoint. It was worth the wait.

The babysitter and the single dad trope has been done, but I don’t care. Gus and Teddy’s relationship was both so hot and so cute.

I can’t recommend this book enough.

5⭐️!
Definitely my favorite in the series so far! 😍 the single dad x nanny trope was soooo yummy! 🥵😍 Teddy and Gus gave you the most perfect tension, banter and spice and I completely devoured it! I definitely teared up in the tender moments between Teddy and her dad, but I also laughed out loud when Teddy and Gus were being mean to each other, so basically it gave me all the feelings and these characters seriously feel like family to me! 🩷
Lyla’s writing seriously has a way to completely reel you in and captivate you with her characters and I’m so happy I found her!
Also special shoutout to Gus’s mustache 🥵😍🤣

Thank you NetGalley and The Dial Press for the ARC! 🥹

Super thankful to NetGalley for an early read of this book. This enemies to lovers story made me cry at multiple points. Bringing in regular Rebel Blue friends made it feel like I was coming back to old friends that I’d been missing. I can’t wait to read more from Lyla Sage and the Rebel Blue Ranch.

I ATE this book up! It was my favorite part of each day, the time I could escape into Rebel Blue Ranch in the mountains of Montana. I have not read the other two books in this series, so I really came in as someone testing the interconnected stand alone category. I fell in love with the main and supporting characters in their own rights without the expected background.

ANYONE can and EVERYONE should pick up this book!
Tropes:
-single dad
-enemies to lovers
-childhood family friends to lovers
-best friend's brother

It is jam packed with goodness! I was worried the short length would make the book too fast and feel as if the reader was missing out. But the pacing and scenes were *chefs kiss*

Rating: 4.25 stars
Thank you Netgalley for an advanced copy of this book!

Thank you so much for the ARC! Random House may I just say I love y’all so much you always approve me so quickly and have such good books. Thank you thank you thank you. Can I send you like an edible arrangement or something?

Lyla Sage became an auto buy (and auto request) author for me about halfway through Done and Dusted so yet again I was SO excited to see this pop up. And, yet again, she did not disappoint.

To have my Stefon moment, this book has everything. Best friend’s older brother. An enemies to lovers dripping in repressed sexual tension. Mommy issues. A mechanical bull ride so good that you make out with your secret lover/ presumed still enemy in front of the whole town.

Teddy and Gus are delightful. We get the classic romance enemies to lovers where they just hate each other and have some wonderful banter where they just bully each other relentlessly while their entire internal monologue is just “damn it why are they so hot!” Which I will eat up EVERY! SINGLE! TIME!! Though, I will say, this is also kind of where the thing keeping this book from being five stars lies. Teddy and Gus hate each other because…they just do. And they seemingly always have. They have no reason to and I wish they did but perhaps the idea was that them hating each other was silly all along.

Also, I am not ones for kids in books. Usually I find them annoying, tolerable at best. Riley though? Riley is a GEM. She is so sassy constantly and it was so funny. Even I get why Teddy is absolutely in love with her. She was such a fun character and I actually found myself excited when we’d get a scene with her.

As always, Sage balances romance and personal life issues wonderfully. With Teddy you have her losing her job and trying to find her place in the world, feeling like she’s second in her best friend’s life as everyone around her gets married and she’s still single, and trying to help her dad through his health issues. With Gus there’s his fear of asking for help and inability to accept he doesn’t need to do it all on his own, trying to juggle parenting Riley without his coparent Cam (which, by the way, SO excited for the next book - Sage goes such a great job of teasing the next book within the current one) there to help, and accepting that not being able to do it all doesn’t make him a bad parent. These are issues Gus and Teddy have to get through personally, but do not do on their own. With each other and their friends and family by their side they are able to learn the lessons they need to learn and make the changes necessary to get through life. And GOD I loved seeing them get through it all.

While Lost and Lassoed may not have consumed my entire soul in the way Done and Dusted did, I do absolutely adore it. I cannot wait for more people to get to visit Teddy and Gus. I cannot hold all these feelings in on my own for much longer!!
