I'm a big fan of Leanne's but was a little hesitant to start this book. How would her comedy successfully translate into a book? The answer? Very well. It was like sitting down and having a hilarious conversation with a friend. If you haven't seen her Netflix special, go watch it right now!

As a fan of Leanne Morgan’s comedy I knew I would enjoy this. I liked her real life descriptions of her marriage and family and the challenges they’ve faced. It is inspiring to see the the career she created in her fifties. I also liked the way she saw God’s hand in all of it. This was warm and funny, just like Leanne. Great read!

Leanne Morgan is a total hoot. Be careful if you’re drinking coffee you might snort it out your nose or spit it across the room. The only thing better than reading her book is seeing her in person. If you get the chance, jump at it! Thank you to Convergent Books and NetGalley for an ARC of this book.

Look, the writing is not overly sophisticated or elegant; but, to me, the message is worth the delivery. Morgan encourages women to value their passions, work hard at them, and not to give up. I appreciated her tenacity and willingness to share her mistakes along the way. I love comedians that are vulnerable, self-effacing and who tell it like it is—then make you laugh about it. Her style is warm and inclusive and the book makes you feel like you’re getting to know a new friend over some iced [and very sweet] tea.

For the record, I didn’t know of Leanne Morgan prior to reading this book and have never heard her comedy. Unlike others, I didn’t imagine her voice in my head as I read the book, because I have never heard her voice.

I do, however, enjoy reading books from comedians. It’s not that most of their lives are so interesting they warrant a novel about their unique life’s struggles. It’s that they are good at selecting the anecdotes of their travels and framing them in a hilarious way.

Or at least that’s what it’s like for the good books from comedians.

This book is like most of the other comedian bios out there, except without the humor. What’s left is a story of Leanne’s life. Though it’s far from boring, it’s not uniquely compelling.

Knowing how popular Leanne is, I’m guessing she’s a funny woman. So I wonder if a ghost writer penned this novel - and Leanne just never punched it up with comedy.

The writing is good enough to get through. Leanne comes across as a really down to earth person who I feel I could hang out with and would probably be fun to have over for dinner.

It’s that type of personality that got me to the end of the book.

From a comedy perspective, I never laughed out loud and I’m not sure I even smiled. I can’t remember a single thing in the book that I wanted to read again.

Maybe it’s because I don’t know Leanne’s humor.
So I suppose if you don’t know Leanne’s humor yet either, this book isn’t for you. If you are a fan of Leanne, you probably haven’t gotten this far in my review anyway.

I love Leanne Morgan! I find her comedy so hilarious and hope to see her on tour one day.

I think I was expecting this book to be laugh out loud funny and similar to her comedy routines, which it was at times, but I found it more to be a memoir. I learned more about her past and also the journey she has taken to find success. Her story is inspiring that she kept chasing her dreams and just at the right time, opportunity knocked on her door.

If you are a fan of Leanne Morgan and are interested in learning more about her family life and career journey, you will thoroughly enjoy this book.

I received this book through NetGalley courtesy of the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I've followed Leanne Morgan on social media for a few years, have watched her Netflix special, and love her style of humor. As a woman/wife/mother of a certain age (who also grew up in the South) her stories are completely relatable. So when I saw that she had written a book I knew it was a must-read for me. And happily, it did not disappoint at all. So much of her comedy comes from her life, and some of those familiar stories are included here. But beyond that is the story of how she was raised in rural Tennessee, with childhood dreams that seemed totally outrageous at the time for her. There's much of her life that isn't in her comedy routines, things that make her even more real and relatable as a person beyond her comedy talents. I laughed a lot, I teared up a time or two, and I found myself nodding at some of the life lessons she shared that I've learned in my own life. I was able to get a copy of the audiobook from the library so I did a combination of reading and listening - she narrates the audio herself and does a nice job. Either way though - it was a thoroughly enjoyable look at her background and how she finally came to live out her childhood dream.

In What in the World, Leanne Morgan dives into the crazy, messy, and downright hilarious aspects of life as a mom. She shares stories that any parent can relate to—like the chaos of juggling kids, laundry, and the occasional existential crisis. Her book feels like a chat over coffee with a friend. She doesn’t hold back when it comes to the real struggles of parenting, from the sleepless nights to the overwhelming pressure to have it all together. But she also knows how to find the humor in those moments! This book is not just for parents, because Leanne has a way to share stories that everyone can relate to!

I also found myself tearing up a few times! It’s also a heartfelt reflection on self-acceptance and embracing the messiness of life. She encourages readers to celebrate their imperfections and find joy in the chaos, which is a refreshing perspective. Overall, it’s a warm and funny read that makes you feel understood and a little less alone in your own whirlwind of life!
I would recommend this book to anyone who needs a good laugh!

I thoroughly enjoyed What in the World?! A Southern Woman's Guide to Laughing at Life's Unexpected Curveballs and Beautiful Blessings by Leanne Morgan. I had the pleasure of getting early access to the audiobook, narrated by the author herself, who has an amazing Southern accent. My favorite chapter was Chapter 13: The BFF Breakup—it’s so relatable!

I loved this book and I love Leanne!
She shares all of her ups and downs of her life so far and what she's learned from all of them. It's her life but it's also like a behind the scenes look at her stand up material. I've watched her stand up specials and other videos so many times that I know her distinct voice so much that it was almost like an audiobook for me!

Love it!

⭐️4.5
One minute I’m laughing, the next minute I’m crying. Leanne’s story is as beautiful as it is entertaining. You will hear her unmistakable voice as you devour this book in just a few days.

I loved the short chapters and the stories that are told are just the perfect length. I found myself wanting to beat up her ex-bff and at the same time, give her a hug. At the end, I couldn’t stop cheering until she made it as a comedian.

If you don’t already love her, you will once you read her story❤️

Seriously funny. It's serious, and it's funny.
Leanne Morgan tells it like it is in this quick read based on her unexpected journeys in life. She knows, first and foremost, that God is at the helm. The people and events that have come from that knowledge are so unique to her and so relatable to many.
I loved this and may go back for the audiobook just to hear her read it!
