A fun and quick read -- I appreciated the consolidation of astrology into three archetypes. I only wish the book was a *bit* more expansive for those of us who are an even split (I am 30/30/38% split between the three). Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the advance copy.

THE ASTROLOGY ADVANTAGE by Ophira Edut and Tali Edut (known professionally as the AstroTwins) promises to serve as a spiritual science, a personality test on steroids, and a helpful inner guidance system.

The I*AM Archetype SystemTHE ASTROLOGY ADVANTAGE explains the I*AM system, a new personality test the AstroTwins created using astrology to optimize the way you work, relate to others, and how and where you thrive. This system was created to provide astrological insight to people who don’t know much about astrology and don’t have the time or motivation to learn it.

The system works by calculating the modalities in your birth chart and dividing them into three archetypes: Innovator, Authority, and Mavem (I*AM).

I’ll be honest, I had my doubts about this system. Astrology has already been watered down by magazine horoscopes to only focus on people’s sun signs. Real astrology takes years to learn and decades to master. I had my doubts that you could write a book’s worth of information by reducing a birth chart to its modalities.

But on the other hand, I believe in making esoteric information accessible. It’s why I do the work that I do. People are not less deserving of the benefits of understanding their natal charts just because they don’t have the time or motivation to learn astrology. Time and motivation are privileges.

And assessing your modalities and elements can indeed provide you with more information about your personality, relationships, and talents. So their system isn’t incorrect. And if that’s all a person wants to know about their birth chart, then there is no harm in creating a system that only provides them with that information.

I was pleasantly surprised by the level of detail and applicable advice provided in this book. For example, in the Home section, The AstroTwins provide the ideal floor plan for each archetype. Sample advice: Innovators are encouraged to have very appealing interiors and surfaces to work on all their projects in all of their favorite rooms in the house.

This book covers major areas of life in detail. This includes how you can use the Astrology Advantage to choose your career, become more productive, build a team that works, find and maintain a romantic relationship, design a personal style, build healthy habits, decorate your home, and be better parents.

The book delivers in its mission to create and explain in plain English a basic system based on astrology that gives the reader insight into how to efficiently apply their energy in the areas of work, home, and relationships. I think experienced astrologers will criticize THE ASTROLOGY ADVANTAGE for watering down astrology, but non-astrologers will appreciate how easy it is to understand and apply.

"The Astrology Advantage" stands out from typical astrology books by offering a unique system that allows you to discover your archetype easily through the authors' website. This isn't your usual run-of-the-mill sun sign book. If you're interested in astrology and self-development, this is a great starting point. The authors are well-known in the field, making it easy to read and follow the suggestions for your archetype.
Thank you to NetGalley and Simon Element for the eARC of this book. All opinions are my own.

Caveat that I am a former professional consulting astrologer, so my rating is based off how it was written and the depth of the content. The Astrotwins, or Ophira & Tali Edut, are astrologers who came out swinging in the game. They mentored some of *my* favourite astrologers and friends, including Queer Cosmos astrologer Colin Bedell. They are pioneers in the industry, especially as women.
This book is for people interested in simplifying astrology and its applications to how you show up in the world. If you have intermediate or advanced astrological knowledge and are interested in more technical work, this is not the correct book for you. This is definitely in the vein of Chani's You Were Born For This, or Steven Forrest's The Inner Sky, but this is geared towards entrepreneurs and laypeople who are interested in utilizing modality (fixed, cardinal, mutable) in conjunction with their birth charts to live their life. Their signature I*AM framework is unique, but if you're aware of technique in astrology, they are essentially breaking archetypes up into modalities. I think their insight and approach is fresh, if repackaged, but for novices, this is a good place to start. I like the suggestions and actionable steps and realistic advice for making sure you succeed (hint: it's with the help of others! Interdependence on the other modalities!)

Would I recommend this for pros? No. Is it good for beginning clients and people interested in a pop-culture sense? Yes.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC :)

This book is about horoscopes and how they can help you. It has easy tips for using stars to make life better. The writers make it simple to understand. It mixes star stuff with things you can do. It's a fun book that helps you use horoscopes to be happy and do well.

This is a great book for those looking to get into astrology! I didn't know that the authors of this book are responsible for writing the horscopes for Elle, and this is such a cool fact. This blends astrology with some other concepts like enneagram and even human design, which I think are cool combinations. The book focuses a lot on professional success, but this guiding advice could also be applicable to personal success as well. I really enjoyed this book and think anyone looking to get into astrology or is already a fan should read this book.

Thank you to NetGalley, Ophira and Tali Edut, and Simon Element for the eARC of this book!

I had no idea the twins behind The Astrology Advantage were also responsible for the horoscopes I read in Elle! I love them. This new book introduces us to a super simple method of finding your source code. You can then apply the code to all aspects of your life. I like how this system works; much of it was spot-on for me. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. Five stars.

Honestly could not finish this since it was a type of astrology that I was not interested in. I believe this is more for skeptics looking for something closer to enneagrams. The astrology itself seem very run of the mill with not much new insight to be offered.
