Sometimes a cover drags me in, and this one did it! I was feeling Pretty Little Liars vibes when I saw the cover and read the description. Twists and turns, suspense, a sorority...This ended up being one of those books that I need to finish to find out what happened in the end. I can see this being a movie. The pacing was somewhat back and forth, but not enough to turn me away. I enjoyed it and would recommend.
The Sorority by Nancy Bush, The sorority is a group of high school girls who consist of Mya, Roxy, Lee, Aaron, Crystal and Natalie and that times the group has grown and shortened, but on the night we get to know them they make a pledge to kill Myers ex-boyfriend Eathan. So everyone is shocked when on graduation night Eathan and his sister are killed in a tragic car crash. The next time we’re in River Glen it is 10 years later and McKenzie is attending the funeral of a fallen River Glenn police officer who happens to be the brother of one of her classmates Gavin. Seeing some of the sorority girls there is no surprise but what is surprising is win Gavin approaches McKenzie Wanting to hire her private investigation services. Unfortunately for McKenzie this will not be the only or the strangest thing that will happen to her that day because another classmate wants to also hire her to find one of the missing sorority girls and she’ll have to do it on a sprained ankle which causes her mentor, boss, best friend and her crush Jesse to spend an exorbitant amount of time tending to her which only causes max feelings for him to grow. There is way too much in this book for me to give a good summary just know Jesse goes to the reading of his ex employers will only to learn he was left the majority of the guys assets despite his angry lethal wife being there and thinking it was going to be hers. There’s so much in this book and it all kept me glued to the pages not to mention the lives of the sorority girls are not going the way they believed it would after high school and one of them may even be a killer and has no qualms about killing again. I do want to say this book although part of the series isn’t promoted as one and had I known it was an on-going story I would’ve read the other books prior to this one. It can still definitely be read as a standalone in 10 absolutely and totally enjoyed. I requested this book because I thought of you saying if Nancy Bush writes it then the reviewer will read it and I now understand why I do believe I’m going to be a huge Nancy Bush fan. #NetGalley,#KensingtonBooks, #NancyBush, #TheSororityGirls,
The Sorority started off well, and I was hooked immediately. The characters were interesting, complex, and mysterious, the plot was intriguing, and the writing was compelling.
The twists were good, and I enjoyed a couple of the characters points of view, especially Mac's.
I just felt like there were far too many POV's, it became hard to keep track of them all. It would have been better to only have the Sorority members views. I thought the book could have done without Cooper entirely. It didn't add to the story at all. The sub plot involving Anna and Prudence should have been left out too.
Overall, it was a reasonably good read.
3 stars from me. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thanks to Netgalley, Kensington Publishing, and Nancy Bush for the chance to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Nancy did it again!
I love River Glen and am happy to have been able to go back there again!
Told in a multi-pov omniscient way, we are told the story of “the sorority.” A group of girls who were rumored to be linked to the death of classmate Ethan on graduation night. Now Mac is hired to investigate not only that but also the disappearance of “sorority” member Mia. In an engaging story, we find out the secrets of those involved. A bunch of reoccurring characters from previous books. I can’t wait for the next one 💋
At River Glen High there is a group of girls that call themselves The Sorority. What started out as something funny ended up turning in something serious. The girls made a pledge to protect one another at all cost. One night they made a pledge to kill Ethan Stanhope but it was all in good fun or was it. When Ethan Stanhope ends up dead it is no longer a joke but who killed him? Mackenzie Laughlin who became a private investigator remembers the girls known as The Sorority. It has been ten years since Ethan died and one of the The Sorority group is missing and another from the group has hired Mackenzie to find her. Follow along and see just what Mackenzie digs up as she tries to find her missing person. Will someone else end up !issuing or dead before she figures out just what is going on.
“I pledge my own life and soul to The Sorority.”
The Sorority is a novel of suspense that explores the dark side of friendship. This was my first time reading this author and I can not wait to read more books by this author. The novel was well written and it had me turning pages until the end, but it also kept me guessing as well. It was an easy and exciting read that I enjoyed. The characters were good in it and I liked Mac the best. I would recommend this book to any reader who loves a good mystery. Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Publishing for this book in exchange of my honest review of The Sorority by Nancy Bush.
Another read that sucks you in. The cast of characters keeps you guessing as much as the mystery. I was stunned by several of the reveals! I was particularly thrilled to learn that this continues the story of some of my favorite characters from previous books. And that jaw dropping ending left me wanting more!
This was a fun book that alternated chapters between the past and the future. It was fun to try to piece together who the killer was, and their reasoning behind it. A quick read not to be missed.
What happens to the cool girls after High School? One is missing and the outsider Mackenzie is trying to find her as well as what happened 10 years ago in there town with Ethan their class mate and it guy died. This has action as there are several who are hurt or dead throughout as it’s a race for Mac to find out who is behind this all.
I feel like the book really hooks you in at the start and because of the non stop action you just keep wanting to read and learn more and more.
I love me a good ol' "mean girls crime come back to haunt the present" kind of story and this one fills the bill! Lord, these women were ridiculously over the top and I had a blast reading about them! The cool girls at River Glen High were known as The Sorority. Together they make a pact to kill a classmate. It was supposed to be a joke, but he ends up dead in a car crash. Now, ten years later, one of the "girls" is missing. Enter Mackenzie "Mac" Laughlin. Mac is a PI and a former classmate of the group. This rehashes all the secrets and drama from the past. There is a lot going on and a lot of red herrings and I really enjoyed this one. Nancy Bush always is good for quick, fun, suspenseful reads. Mac is one of her recurring characters although this can be a standalone.

The Sorority by Nancy Bush is a thrilling page-turner that had me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end.
Bush expertly weaves together a suspenseful plot filled with some unexpected twists and turns that kept me guessing until the very end.
Thank You NetGalley and Zebra for your generosity and gifting me a copy of this amazing eARC!
While I generally love this author, I was not particularly crazy about this book and found it hard to really stay into. I found the women in this to be a bit petty and, quite frankly, outlandish. Each one seemed to still be in the mindset of their teenage selves. They weren't relatable, and at times, this seemed to drone on a bit long with unneeded dialogue, both inner and outer. The pacing was a bit slow, and the overall story just didn't do it for me, and going into my next read was quickly forgotten. Three stars.
Thank you, Netgalley and Kensington Publishing, for this ARC.
This is my second read by Nancy Bush and I absolutely intend to check out more of her work. This story features a recurring character, Mackenzie Laughlin (Mac). Former River Glen police and now a private Investigator, with her partner/mentor Jesse James Taft. In the precious story I read, I really liked Mac and that hasn't changed.
Mac is at the funeral of a young police officer, who was killed in the line of duty. She is approached by two separate, former high-school classmates, to investigate serperate issues. Gavin, brother of the killed cop, wants Mac to look into the "accidental" death of another classmate, on their graduation night. He has never believed it was purely accidental. Leigh wants Mac to track down a missing friend, also classmate, named Mia.
It is quick to see that there are many secrets in the small town of River Glen and someone doesn't want Mac digging into them. This is an exciting and twisty mystery/thriller. The main mysteries of the story are solved, with the killer not being any one on my radar, I wasn't even close. The book ends with a tantalizing cliffhanger/lead-in for another potential story.
Thank you to Netgalley and Kensington Publishing | Zebra for the opportunity to enjoy this exciting e-ARC.
While I really enjoyed the actual plot of the story, this one took me a really long time to get into. I am used to much fast paced thrillers and this one was more of a slow burn. I enjoyed the overall drama and Mac (the main female lead) but I felt like some things I should have known going into this that I didn't. It seems from other reviews there are reoccuring characters and some things mentioned didn't make sense to me - had I know this I probably wouldn't have started with this one
The Sorority is a dark thriller full of suspense and betrayal. In high school, a group of girls, known as the sorority, make a pledge to take the life of another student. Unfortunately, what was supposed to be a joke turned out to come true. While considered a terrible car accident, not everyone believes the incident was unintentional. Now, over a decade later, Mackenzie Laughlin, a former classmate of the sorority, has been tasked with looking into the death of Ethan. Mackenzie must not only face the women of the sorority but also reveal long buried secrets and betrayals.
The Sorority is mainly a story of toxic relationships. I did not connect with any of the characters, including the main sleuth, Mackenzie. The story was oddly paced, and I did not like the multiple POVs. I did not think they added to the overall plot. While I understand this book is sort of part of a series, I found the side mysteries to be unnecessary; in fact, I thought they detracted from the central mystery. Since it is part of a wider group of books, the story does end on a cliffhanger. While there were some exciting twists, a lot of the book was predictable. This "series" is just not for me.
The Sorority is the "it" girls club, a group of girls bound together by an oath, and a promise to always look out for one another. The group seemed innocent enough at first, just the popular girls wanting to have a club that only the elite girls at school could belong to, but then murders and disappearances started to happen and people began to question the innocence of the group.
Mackenzie Laughlin was never cool enough to be part of the group, she was the sheriff's daughter and that automatically counted her out. But now, ten years later she is hired to help the group find one of their own, a member has went missing and other accidents keep happening to other members... and now after learning more about the group Mac's pretty sure she was better off never getting involved!
The Sorority is a thrilling read that will have you on the edge of your seat the whole way through! With suspense and drama on every page it's impossible to put it down, which is the very reason why I read it in one sitting! Highly recommend this one for suspense readers, it's words are bound to thrill and entertain!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, via NetGalley request, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.

Outstanding. Best of 2024.
“I pledge my own life and soul to The Sorority.”
Every school has its cool girls, and at River Glen High, they’re known as The Sorority. The name began as a joke, but it holds a grain of truth. Because they’ve made a pledge to protect one another . .no matter what the cost may be. The pledge to kill Ethan Stanhope—that was a joke too. But then Ethan died in a car crash on the night of graduation, along with his little sister. A tragic accident, they said. Private investigator Mackenzie Laughlin remembers the girls of The Sorority, though as a cop’s daughter, she was an outsider. Now, nearly ten years later, one of them is missing, and Mac is hired to find her. The accidents have started again too—if that’s what they are. Because Mac is beginning to realize just how much the Sorority sisters have to hide—and how far they’ll go to keep their secrets
This is a masterpiece.
Thanks to NetGalley and Kensington Books Zebra for giving me an advance copy.
Thank you to NetGalley, Nancy Busy, and Kensington Publishing for an ARC copy of "The Sorority".
"The Sorority" kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. It's a gripping thriller that explores themes of loyalty, betrayal, and the dark side of friendship. It's a must-read for fans of psychological suspense and those who enjoy delving into the intricate dynamics of high school relationships and their long-lasting effects.
This book was pretty good. It has some of the characters from her book “The Camp” but is not a series. I loved the main characters and their storyline. The plot was pretty good too but didn’t start picking up until about halfway through, but once it did it was hard to put down.
This was an interesting book with some good ideas at its core. I felt like the pacing was odd at times and it could have been smoother and perhaps a little bit shorter. I liked Mac, but the rest of the characters didn’t seem to get developed enough for me. I wanted to like Mac’s boss, but I didn’t. The relationship tension was fine, but how he reacted to it at the end was awful. Mac was a strong, smart, capable woman and being a private investigator is a good match for her skills. I’d been wavering between 3 and 4 stars for this book and when that conversation happened it went to a solid 3 for me. I’m good with romance in my thrillers/mysteries, but alpha man I have to protect you no matter how you’re doing on your own doesn’t work for me (this is just me, you might have liked this more than me). Actually every relationship in this book was awful but most of them were meant to be awful. The night of high school graduation Ethan gets into a car accident that kills him and his younger sister. 10 years later after another death a classmate asks Mac to investigate what really happened to Ethan because he believes a group of girls called the sorority were at fault and it hadn’t been a true accident. Mac is also approached to find one of the girls from the sorority, Mia, who has recently gone missing. As Mac investigates it becomes clear that someone doesn’t want her to be digging into the past. This book was suspenseful and fun and a good read.
