Anna Mary Zook was not only taking care of her siblings after her father's passing, but also her depressed mother. Holding down a job and household responsibilities, her boyfriend dumps her. Abe King was visiting his cousin and an errand to the Valley Green Farmer's Market he meets a kindhearted girl that took his heart by surprise. His visits to her house is two fold, helps her with repairs, entertaining her siblings, buying food, and most importantly helping her mother with her depression. It is the very wealthly older woman, Mrs. Vandenburg, who plays a part of matchmaking in each book of the series. When Abe returns to New York, Anna Mary must rely on her faith as a guide. The Author does not disappoint in this book.

I LOVE this series!!!
Welcome back to the Green Valley Farmer’s Market. Anna Mary is caring for her depressed mother while trying to hold down a job at the market. Abe King falls for Anna Mary but they are faced with obstacles the entire way.
I’m still hoping that we get a back story about Mrs. Vandenberg, the kindly owner who manages to help all of the Amish workers.
Many thanks to the author and NetGalley for a complimentary copy of the book. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

Missing Her Amish Boyfriend by Rachel J. Good

Book 7 in Surprised by Love series. It picks up right where we left off in book 6 with Josh and Anna Mary courting. However along comes Mrs. Vandenberg and her matchmaking throws us a curve ball.

Lots of decisions have to be made which will effect many people. Continue reading book 7 to find out what happens to Josh and Anna Mary.

I received an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley and Kensington publishing.

One of my favorite series, Missing her Amish Boyfriend actually mirrors book 6 but from the other side. We find ourselves following Anna Mary Zook. She has her hands full taking care of her mother and siblings, starting a new job, and watching her long time boyfriend fall in love with someone else. What is she to do? Abe King knows and understands family obligations. He cannot help but be pulled to her gentleness and determination. All too soon, family obligations call him back home for good. Does he have the right to ask Anna Mary to uproot her life and that of her family? One of my favorite characters to the rescue. Mrs. Vandenburg, owner of the market, is always the matchmaker. She knows when two people belong together. Will she be able to convince both sides that compromise might be available?

Another fun read in this series. I look forward to the next story. I received a copy through Netgalley. A review was not required.

Missing Her Amish Boyfriend by Rachel J. Good, book seven in her Surprised by Love series, an inspiring and heartwarming tale dealing with loneliness, jealousy, love, mistakes, forgiveness, healing and faith; with a little twist to it. The story is told in two sections the first part being from book six, Dating an Amish Flirt, except it was Anna Mary’s side of the story; the other after they part ways and the building of her relationship with Abe.

Anna Mary Zook has the responsibility of helping her depressed widowed mother, and caring for her younger sisters; in addition to working at the Green Valley Farmer’s Market. She met Abe King when he and his obnoxious cousin Tim are also attending a volleyball game that she went to with her boyfriend Josh for an afternoon. Abe, visiting his uncle and cousin in Lancaster, PA, sees what Anna Mary is dealing with at home and their lack of food and repairs. Attracted to her, Abe tries to help her family while also working to curb Tim's behavior. Her love life is going through some rough times, making her thankful and grateful when she and Abe begin a friendship. When her relationship with her boyfriend falters and her friendship with Abe grows, she experiences a tug of war with her emotions. Abe knows he has to return to his home in Fort Plain, New York in a couple of weeks, but when they both recognize their attraction, they realize there are many obstacles in the way of them developing more than a casual acquaintance.

This story gave me all the feels: laughing, crying, swooning, cringing, teeth gritting, and cheering with the perfect balance of humor, heartwarming love, real life issues, trust, mistakes, past pain, and faith. To get to their HEA they’ll have to lean into their faith and trust that G-d has a way to fulfill their responsibilities while allowing them to also satisfying their hearts desire.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Missing Her Amish Boyfriend is another inspirational story written by Rachel J. Good. I always her enjoy her well developed characters and her characters bring her stories to life. I enjoyed the storyline which definitely kept me turning pages. I really think the cover for the book draws the reader in too with the beautiful colors. This author has a fantastic writing style which keeps me reading all her books.

I received a complimentary copy of this story through Netgalley to read and review. I was not asked to post a favorable review just an honest one. I have rated this story with five stars for meeting my expectations of a wonderful story that I can highly recommend to others.

Congratulations to Rachel J. Good on writing another fantastic story for her readers enjoyment.

Missing Her Amish Boyfriend by Rachel J. Good is a cute story. We get to return to the Green Valley Farmer’s Market where Anna Mary Zook has just obtained a position. I felt for Anna Mary who is trying to take care of her mother and sibling as well as hold down a job (the family needs the income). There is an interesting assortment of characters. I love Mrs. Vandenburg. She is a delightful, eccentric elderly woman who adds humor to the story. Mrs. Vandenburg loves playing matchmaker (I can envision the twinkle in her eye). I like how Mrs. Vandenburg listens to God’s little nudges. There are good life and faith lessons in the story. Faith in God is the primary theme. I like how the author addressed the topic of depression. It can be hard to resist the pull of depression. The story is easy to read, but it was slow in places with repetitive details. While Missing Her Amish Boyfriend is the seventh book in the Surprised by Love series, it can be read as a standalone. Missing Her Amish Boyfriend is a heartwarming tale with a conniving octogenarian, long lines, a benevolent visitor, competitive combatants, a melancholy mother, mouthwatering meals, and a faithful Father.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this book.

I have enjoyed this whole series. But this book just struck something in me. I enjoyed this book so much more than the previous books in the series. Which are all spectacular.

I enjoyed Anna Mary and Abe's story. I especially enjoyed watching Anna Mary evolve and grow into a child of God. She is able to rid herself if her jealousy and guilt grow in her faith.

Recommend.

Missing Her Amish Boyfriend by Rachel J. Good is the seventh book in the Surprised by Love series. Welcome back to the market in Lancaster, PA, where you'll meet old friends and make new ones. Anna Mary meets Abe, and they're instantly attracted to each other, even though Anna Mary is seeing someone else. Will our favorite matchmaker, Mrs Vandernberg, be able to help Anna Mary and Abe in their journey, as well as others?

I found this to be another enjoyable story in the Surprised by Love series, and I'm hoping that there will be at least one more book in it. If you've read the other books in this series, you definitely won't want to miss this one!

Thanks to #NetGalley and #KensingtonPublishing for an advanced epub of this book.

In Dating an Amish Flirt, we met Rachel, Josh, Anna Mary, Abe, Tim, and other known characters. We read Josh and Rachel's story in that book. in Missing Her Amish Boyfriend, we see Anna Mary and Abe's view of the same story at the beginning of this book. Anna Mary is not a pleasant person with her jealousy and guilt, but she does grow up in her faith in this story. Abe is a delightful young man of character and loyalty. Anna Mary and Abe are interested in each, but they have obstacles to overcome, especially living a long distance apart, and both needed by their family. Mrs. Vandenberg, the wealthy owner of the Amish market, faithful Christian, and matchmaker, assures the two to remember that all things are possible with God. This story was nice to watch unfold and develop as all in the series have been. Faith is the important part of each character and the knowledge to focus on Him, not the obstacles. This is a nice addition to the series.
I received a copy for the purpose of an honest review. These are my thoughts.

I have read a few of these books regarding this particular Amish community and the infamous Mrs. Vandenberg by Rachel Good.
There are so many overlapping stories from book to book it feels as the stories are playing out in reverse .
It's rather strange and I do not recommend. I'm done with this author.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from netgalley and the publisher .

How do you believe something you cannot see? Something that seems impossible.

Anna Mary is carrying a heavy burden. Caring for her depressed mother who recently lost her husband and her siblings, she has poured her heart to her boyfriend. Telling him all her fears and concerns. When she see's him with another young girl and he seems so happy. However, the same day, she meets a visitor to their community Abe King. Being the helpful man that he is, he sees Anna Mary's distress and wants to help. Their friendship leads to facing several realities in Anna's life. One her current boyfriend and her distressed mother.

The realities that Abe and Anna face also directs them to the reality of God and faith. God can do the impossible. A story of healing, waiting, and faith. All told in a love story.

I loved the lessons of faith in this one. The putting up walls that Anna's mother put up because of fear and past experience can dampen ones faith and also relationships. You miss out in love which she did. I did not care for Anna's personality. I was put off by it and maybe because she did have so much on her plate. She was faithful to her mother and family that commendable.

A special thank you to Kensington Books and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.

Missing Her Amish Boyfriend is book number seven in the Surprised by Love Series by Rachel J. Good.

Ms. Good has given us another interesting addition to her series Surrounding employees of the Green Valley farmers market in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

The story centers around Anna Mary Zook from Lancaster, and Abe King from New York. They find out that, as Abe’s dad said, “ Sometimes the direction God ask us to walk isn’t easy, But it is always worthwhile.”

Anna Mary and Abe are very much in love, but are separated by some 3000 miles. Anna Mary has to care for her depressed, widowed mother, and her five siblings. Abe has to help his dad run their dairy farm. With the help of Mrs. Vanderburg, they begin to see that all things are possible with God.

The story is well developed, and the characters are realistic.

As with all the other books in the series, I recommend this one highly. I was given an ARC by Kensington Publishing | Zebra, but was not required to give a positive review. All options are my own. The book will be released August 20, 2024.

I enjoy this series based in a fictional Pennsylvania Amish community. Missing Her Amish Boyfriend is the seventh book but has a little twist to it. We had Rachel and Josh's story in Dating an Amish Flirt. Now we have the other side of the story as Anna Mary Zook deals with her relationship with Josh.
I received an advanced reader's copy of the book from the author, Kensington Publishing Corp/Zebra Books. This is my own unsolicited opinion.
I like the way that author Rachel J. Good picked up from the story and shows how Anna Mary was reacting to how Josh was acting. It's an interesting take. She meets Abe King when he and his obnoxious cousin Tim are at an event that she went with Josh to for an afternoon. The story is in two sections, one with Josh, the other after they part ways.
Anna Mary has a lot on her shoulders. Her mother, widowed twice, is in a state of depression. Anna is basically responsible for the family. This certainly shows what depression can be like.
Abe is a visitor who sees needs and tries to help the family while also working to rein in Tim's behavior.
There is a lot going on in this story. It does lag a bit while the new potential romance for Anna Mary and Abe takes a back seat to family problems and distance. Mrs. Vanderburg is a dominant factor once again as the elderly, wealthy matchmaker adds to the story. I love her character. Faith is important to the outcome for several people in the book. There is a surprise secondary romance too. I could easily see an 'invitation' to a future book, maybe a new series, and look forward to it. I recommend this book and the entire series for readers who enjoy the offerings of Wanda Brunstetter and Shelley Shepard Gray.

Cute and Sweet

Although Anna Mary Zook works at the local market, she also has numerous responsibilities at home. On top of that, her love life is going through some rough times. So, when she and Abe King begin a friendship, Anna Mary is more than grateful. However, as her relationship with her boyfriend teeters and her friendship with Abe grows, she experiences a tug of war with her emotions.

This cute and sweet read had me on an emotional rollercoaster. I found myself frustrated one minute and laughing the next. Even though I felt frustration toward Anna Mary on more than one occasion, my heart still went out to her and all she was dealing with. On the other hand, Abe was absolutely wonderful. His kindness and caring completely touched my heart. It had me cheering for him and Anna Mary and wondering how their story would end, especially when other issues got in their way. All of these elements made for a fantastic read.

Although Missing Her Amish Boyfriend is book seven in Good's Surprised by Love series, it can be read as a standalone. However, I recommend you read the entire series.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book. All comments and opinions are voluntary and completely my own.

Missing Her Amish Boyfriend by Rachel J Good is the seventh book in this series. In this installment, we see Anna Mary Zook’s view of her relationship with Josh and the struggles she had along the way. There are parts in the beginning of this book that are very close to the same as book 6, Dating an Amish Flirt, but this book is from Anna Mary’s perspective. Anna Mary is very frustrated that her boyfriend Josh Yoder spends so much time with Rachel. We see how she views the goings-on between Josh and Rachel. But we also see Anna Mary’s budding relationship with Abe King. Abe is visiting his cousin and uncle in Lancaster for a few weeks when he meets and falls in love with Anna Mary. Emotional struggles in both the Zook and King families take some time to work out. Come along on this leg of the journey in this series. You will not be disappointed.

Missing Her Amish Boyfriend is the seventh book in Rachel J. Good’s Surprised by Love series and it’s my favorite book in the entire series. The first part of this book was much the same as book six, Dating an Amish Flirt except that it was Anna Mary’s side of the story. We see her in a different light in this book. One of my favorite characters in this entire series is the eccentric elderly lady Mrs Vandenburg. I absolutely love this lady who brings so much into this series and she played a big role in this book. Anna Mary Zook learns to trust in God to handle an impossible situation in her life. In fact God handles two different impossible situations with the help of Mrs Vandenburg of course. Things just seemed to go from bad to worse as the story progresses but nothing is impossible for God to handle. The ending is a happy one for all the characters who learned to be patient and wait for God’s perfect timing.

I thought this book was entertaining, romantic , captivating, a page flipper, and inspirational. The kind of book I enjoy reading. I’m looking forward to reading more books yet to come in this series.

I highly recommend this book to readers of Christian Fiction, Sweet Amish Romance, and Woman’s Fiction. This book is part of a series and it would be beneficial to read the other books and especially book six before reading this one. Missing Her Amish Boyfriend is scheduled to be released on 8/20/24

Anna Mary Zook works at the farmer’s market and takes care of her mother and five siblings. Her mother suffers from depression after the death of her second husband. And if that isn’t enough, Anna Mary’s boyfriend is enamored by another girl.

Abe King is helping his uncle while his brothers fill in for their dead with a large dairy farm. Abe sees the best about Anna Mary.

I just never got “into” this book. I found Anna Mary to be a shrew when dealing with her boyfriend, Josh. If I had been him, I would have hit the door running and never come back. Abe was over-the-top nice and understanding. I often wondered while reading and Abe was extolling the understanding and kindness of Anna Mary if he would feel that way had he been on the receiving of her diatribe. Honestly, if this had been a Kindle Unlimited book instead of a NetGalley ARC, I would have logged this one as did-not-finish.

Exactly at 50% into the book the story got better. Less of Josh so less of Anna Mary lighting into him.

So, sorry — I can’t recommend this book. Too many negative, tongue-lashing scenes between Anny Mary and Josh. Too-too-good-to-be-true Abe. While the second half of the book, thank goodness, was much better, it wasn’t enough for this reviewer to bring the rating to three stars.

I received a complimentary DRC (digital review copy) of Missing Her Amish Boyfriend via NetGalley from the publisher, Kensington Books | Kensington. A positive review was not required; the opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.
