Playing Ball is a autobiographical look at the life of Vernon Davis. From his early days growing up in DC to his college life at the University of Maryland, to his 14 year career in the NFL with the 49ers, Broncos and Washington.
One thing I really enjoyed about this book was the fact that it was told the eyes and words of Vernon Davis himself. I liked the fact that he spoke about the non sports ventures that he immersed himself in, including his vast foundations and acting roles.
Special thanks to NetGalley and Kensington Publishing for this advanced copy in exchange for my honest and fair opinion
I am a HUGE football fan, so this was an easy read for me. If you are into football or sports, I would HIGHLY recommend this book. Great writing and story. If you are not into football, I am not sure why you'd read up on this book, and it may be hard for you to get into. Just a heads up! I absolutely LOVE the cover art.
