Unwanted by Mia Sheridan pulled me in from the first page and kept me on edge right until the end. This story is packed with tension, mystery, and romance, making it one of those reads that kept me turning the pages late into the night. Sheridan is known for crafting intense, emotional love stories, but Unwanted adds a layer of suspense that gives it a whole new twist.

The main character, Harper Ward, a wilderness guide with a deep love for the Montana wilds, is called to assist the small-town sheriff’s office on a peculiar case, where the primary suspect in a double murder is a man they call “Lucas.” The setup had me immediately curious—who is this wild man, and how could he possibly be involved in such a horrific crime? Lucas isn’t just any suspect; he’s described as primitive and untamed, a man who’s somehow survived alone in the forest since he was a child. Watching Harper’s reaction to him, especially her intrigue and growing fascination, hooked me completely.

Sheridan does an amazing job at peeling back Lucas’s layers bit by bit. Despite his rugged, “savage” appearance, there’s a tenderness and intelligence in him that Harper can’t ignore. And neither could I! As more details are revealed, I found myself completely invested in Lucas’s story and rooting for him. The chemistry between Harper and Lucas is electric, yet what I loved most was how their connection felt deeper than just attraction. As Harper gets drawn into Lucas’s mysterious past and the darker truths surrounding his life in the forest, it becomes clear that she’s risking her heart—and maybe even her life—to help him.

This book isn’t just about romance; it’s a suspenseful, heart-pounding journey through secrets, survival, and redemption. I loved how Sheridan balanced the romance and the mystery, keeping me guessing about Lucas’s innocence or guilt until the very end. If you’re looking for a story that will make your heart race in more ways than one, Unwanted is a perfect pick. Mia Sheridan has crafted a story that’s both hauntingly beautiful and thrilling, with characters who will stay with you long after you’ve finished the book

Mia Sheridan has always been a go to author for me and this book has 100% solidified that. This was such a creative “Tarzan” retelling!! I loved the atmosphere and tension that was vivid throughout the entire book.

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC.
This was an enjoyable romance, and what I expected from the author. I think if you loved Archer's Voice then you will like this.

This book was a pleasant surprise! I have read Mia Sheridan books before and have noticed that she is one of few authors who can fully develop her characters throughout the entirety of the story. Jak was a great character and seeing the way he saw the world through Mia's writing was a joy. I am not usually one for the suspense mixed in with romance genre but I found that the suspense added to the overall story.

What a ride.
When Harper is called in to assist on a case, the last thing she expects is to meet a man like Lucas. A man who has lived 100% off the grid, all alone, since he was a child.
As time goes on the truth comes out about his past, as well as Harpers.

I loved this one.
Definitely a book I did not want to put down.
I needed to know more about these two characters and loved the way their stories unfolded.

I love Mia Sheridans writing and I can not wait to read the second book in this series!

Mia does it again! There’s nothing this woman writes that I wouldn’t read. The chemistry, the world building…it’s the perfect style of writing to make you invested in the people and the storyline.

Another fantastic read from Mia Sheridan. Her books are a great blend of suspense and romance that keeps you on your toes and Unwanted is no different!

Mia typically writes a lot of romance so to get a more thriller and mystery parts combined with her romance was really nice! For some weird reason to me Jack felt so similar to Archer but an Archer that had a voice and used it. The plot did in a way become a bit far fetched but who am I kidding I still devoured it.

I loved Lucas and Harper so much! This is just the novel I was crazing from Mia Sheridan! This book reminds me of Archer’s voice, so if you loved that book, you’ll love this one! Add in some extra suspense with her usual dose of romance. Such a great read!!! Thanks to netgalley and publisher for the arc!

While I was reading this, it reminds me of Archer’s voice. I felt like I’m reading about Archer again but with a different plot. I always loved Mia’s writing and this one didn’t disappoint me at all. The characters are believable and real. I’m absolutely crazy about the MMC.

I loved the murder mystery and how this intertwined with our mc’s back story. At one time I felt like I’m reading a remaking of Tarzan. The romance is a slow burn but I loved that pacing. I loved how he slowly learned to discover all the things in human world.

The book is told from three main POVs and I loved the MMC’s the most. it was really interesting to see how he reacted and processed certain things. Overall, I fell in love with all aspects of the story. It’s beautiful, mysterious, emotional, and romantic.

I really enjoyed this read overall. I was a fan of Archer's voice, so the premise felt very familiar to me, but still individually its own beast. You have to go into this book suspending disbelief somewhat or you will likely not have a good time. The plot itself is evenly spaced and interesting - keeping me hooked the entire read. I enjoyed the character interaction and chemistry between the MMC and FMC and the romance itself was exactly what I've come to expect from Mia Sheridan. 3 stars.

Alright so I did not expect this story at all. Mia is one of the author I won’t miss reading a single book so I went in blind. What an awesome surprise! Savage was very different – unique plot, mysterious, emotional, suspenseful, and quite eerie at times. It’s a heartbreaking story of survival, friendship, romance, and new beginning. I usually prefer sappy love story but Mia’s storytelling is always quite remarkable - I was sucked in from the beginning until the end. What happened to Lucas was horribly sad and the people who did this were down right creepy. The author really fool me with her well-crafted characters. Lucas was not what he appears – a rugged, unkempt, wild, isolated, out of touch with reality. He is brave, strong, intelligent, a survivor. Harper has her own heartbreaks but she too, incredibly smart, compassionate, strongminded young lady. The twist at the end had me reeling. I mean I was guessing the circumstance surround Lucas’s life was the result of some sicko’s mind but I was surprise there were more people involved… the who’s and the why’s… Gah!!! Crazy! Savage is a bit dark with some graphic stuff which will keep you on the edge of your seat. Yes, there were sex, chemistry, and romance but I was more fascinated with the mysterious murder plot and how the hero and heroine’s life were actually intertwined. Savage is a romance, add the captivating and unique plot you have got an unforgettable story of survival and second chance at life. Beautifully written in multiple POVs. Fantastic read!

I loved that Mia writes romances that are also thrillers because it makes it much more worth the read! But I had really high expectations when it came to this book. It started off ok but then towards the middle it just started going downhill.

I felt like it was a little slow and it dragged at times. Every time the story started to get good it will flip to the past. Had I not been reading this for NetGalley, I would've DNF'd. The romance felt like a contemporary version of Tarzan. Harper Ward is providing assistance for a double homicide and the suspect is described as a savage-Lucas! Harper and Lucas’ strangers-to-soulmates love story was wonderful and cute! I think the book would have been more successful had Mia focused more on the relationship and less on the crazy science experiment explanation.

I'm not going to lie, there were many twists and turns that I generally didn't see coming. However, the pacing was on the slow side and did hinder my enjoyment a little. It was also long, too long imo too much filler for the ending! I actually started skimming through part 2! This is my second book I have read from Mia. I’ll give her a third try and we’ll see because Archer’s Voice wasn’t all that for me either.

Mia Sheridan is an author I will always recommend because she offers more than just one genre or trope when it comes to her books. While her books are filled with something that we all want to read, she fills each and every book of hers with something else that we never knew we needed until that moment of reading said book. Unwanted is no different. Mia has a way of taking the unkown or the "who would have ever thought of writing a book about this!?" to a whole new level and I live for every. Single. Word. I cannot recommend this book more than I do. I cannot recommend Mia Sheridan as a whole more than I already do. 5 stars!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the free copy of Unwanted by Mia Sheridan in exchange for my honest review.

After Archer's Voice, I knew Mia Sheridan would become one of my favorite authors. The tone of this both was actually really comforting because it was similar to her other novels. I loved Harper's story, and I don't think MS could write something I wouldn't love!

Went into this book totally blind, so was a little taken aback for the first few chapters. The author did a great job with the story, I found myself sucked in after just a few chapters. I enjoyed the mystery and survival thriller vibes as opposed to the typical romance vibes. I will definitely read her next book in this series.

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC, all opinions are my own.

NetGalley Review — my rating ⭐️/5
.
“Unwanted” by Mia Sheridan. How approximately named.
.
Harper is called in to work on a case involving a mountain man deep in the woods of her hometown…the same woods where her parents died in a car crash. What horrors lie in the woods?
.
It hasn’t taken me this long to finish a book since I picked back up the hobby 4 years ago. This was brutally slow, made next to no sense, and I didn’t get Mia’s charm through any of the words. There was a strange disconnect throughout the novel and for the first time, I won’t be recommending a Mia book.

Such a great read! I have never read a book quite like this, it was emotional and I loved every second, almost from page one. I read this when it was under a new title, and even though I was a little bummed because I thought I was getting a new book, I enjoyed my reread of it! This was a love story like no other! A a budding romance set against a backdrop of a mysterious storyline with so many surprises and plot twists. Lucas grew up in the wild on his own and truly should have been a savage but was so not!. His heart was so pure and so good. He had no teaching or influence from other people and yet the choices he mad were instinctively selfless and kind. I felt all his pain and the suffering and loneliness he had to endure in the wilderness made my heart ache so much. It was amazing to see the man he becomes despite the odds.
