I can't really do the whole insta love/lust thing, specially when i thought that the book was a horror/thriller novel lol (but that's my own fault for not rereading the synopsis) but as always, I love Mia Sheridan's writing and the story was quite interesting even though the pacing was a bit off at times.

Mia Sheridan has created a mystery/suspense/love story all in one!

Harper is all grown up now but had a sad past in the foster care system. Lucas is vulnerable but yet a hero in his own right.

This will draw you in from the beginning and keep you turning the pages!

Thanks to Mia Sheridan, NetGalley, and Bloom Books for this ARC.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book! It had both a HOT romance & mystery! Those things together kept me turning the pages to find out what would happen next! Thank you for the ARC copy of this book! I will be recommending to all of my friends! Another great Mia Sheridan book!

Unwanted instantly captivated me from page 1. It begins with a heartbreaking story of survival and as the story progresses we gain mystery, intrigue, sadness, love, and found family.

The story is unique with a MMC that is a Mowgli/Tarzan mix, but lives in the mountains instead of the jungle. I was unsure how I felt about Lucas at first, but he grew on me quickly.

The reason this story is 3 stars is the mystery and thrill that kept me captivated died off about halfway through. It felt a bit too focused on the romance and not enough on the mystery. I struggled with knowing which part of the story was meant to be the plot. The mystery or the romance? If the story had been a bit more cohesively tied together, I wouldโ€™ve enjoyed it more.

Overall, for it being my first Mia Sheridan novel, I enjoyed it and I look forward to reading her other books. Iโ€™m also open to continuing this series as it progresses. Thereโ€™s a lot of promise!

โ€ขWhen wilderness guide Harper Ward is called to the sheriff's office in Helena Springs, Montana, she is shocked to find their only suspect in a double murder investigation is a man described as a savage. Watching Lucas on the station's surveillance camera, she becomes intrigued by his primitive appearance and animal skin attire, yet sees intelligence and sensitivity in his eyes. Who is he, and how has he survived alone in the forest since childhood?

โ€ขAs secrets unfold, Harper finds herself caught in a bigger, more sinister plot with Lucas at its center. Is he a wild man, a cold-blooded killer, an innocent victim, or a mix of all three? Harper must uncover the truth, even as she risks losing her heart to him.

๐Ÿ’ฌ This book was giving my Lotus vibes and I wanted to eat it up but savor it all at the same time. Jak had my heart from the get go and soon Harper did as well. These two grew beautifully together and Mia had me tearing up and rooting so hard for these two!

How the tiktok girlies have not gone absolutely feral over this is beyond me. This is the perfect blend of romance and crime through the uncovering of the mysterious history of a man that has survived alone, in the woods, since boyhood.

Overall I was going to give it 4 stars until the end where the story takes a twist and more info is uncovered, bumping it up to 4.5 stars. I think lovers of romantic suspense/mystery will enjoy this.

Having only heard the authorsโ€™ name before, I went into this book blind and was not disappointed! Mia Sheridan has written an incredibly heartbreaking tale of survival, trauma, and the healing power of love.
Harper is a wilderness guide brought in to help with a unique homicide case in rural Helena Springs. She meets suspect Lucas, a โ€œwild manโ€ living off the grid and is instantly drawn to his curious nature. Through the ongoing investigation, their lives become more interwoven and the two come to find that they may have more in common than what meets the eye.
The two main characters were written so well - from Harperโ€™s tender and caring nature to Jakโ€™s innocence and self-doubt. I loved watching their relationship unfold and develop. Throw in a healthy dose of suspense and thrill and this book had me on the edge of my seat trying to solve everything! This was my first Mia Sheridan book, but it certainly wonโ€™t be my last!

My thoughts: I highly recommend this read if you enjoyed Archerโ€™s Voice. This gave me the same vibes, just more outdoor survival instincts. Mia Sheridan does it again with a unique twist on something a child should never have to go through. I cannot imagine having to be that strong as a child and survive on your own, away from civilization. Sheridan does a great job capturing the difficult hardships the mmc has to endure. My heart broke for him and also for the fmc. They both went through different versions of being unwanted, and found each other in the end. I loved the writing and how smooth the transitions were from different timelines, it wasnโ€™t confusing at all. I would definitely recommend this read ๐Ÿ˜Š

Mia Sheridan blew me away while reading โ€œ Unwantedโ€ Iโ€™ll say this here and Iโ€™ll say it again.

Mia Sheridan is hands down one of the best authors out there.

I canโ€™t even begin to explain how good this book is. I will recommend it to everyone I see .

First and foremost I would like to thank Mia for giving me such a good book to read.

The suspense the psychological twist and turns was just the cherry on top. I donโ€™t think Iโ€™ll ever get over this book. The way it played at my heart strings pulled feelings I havenโ€™t felt in a long time and as crazy as this sound I didnโ€™t feel alone reading this. There are some things in this book that I thought only I felt that way! Boy was I wrong the sentimental topics in this book really got to me.

10/10
Highly recommended

This tale of survival and found family stole my whole dang heart.

For a minute I wasn't sure if Mia suddenly decided to write a why choose as we start out with four different perspectives... But it turns out two of them are just important people to the story with a special third person getting a POV later down the line.

I was horrified with Jak's point of view... The things that poor boy went through broke me into pieces. As we learn more and more about him I only got more and more attached to this sweet boy and couldn't wait to discover his place in Lucas and Harper's life.

I loved Harper, she was so strong and such a beautiful person. The way she was with Lucas was just incredible, lifting him up and keeping his demons at bay. I adored him too, such a kind soul despite his past. This was the best kind of instant love and when Lucas called her his mate I about unalived.

This story was full of suspense and mystery, and while I slowly put together some of the twists, a couple left me reeling. The non-romantic pieces of the plot were absolutely fantastic. Mia's mind is such a wonderful and often heartbreaking place, I love it there.

I was able to partially listen to this story as I had the previously released version called "Savaged" already in my audio library and I absolutely loved it. Chelsea Hatfield and Christian Fox did a wonderful job bringing this story to life. I'm so excited to see what's next for this series.

โ€œI want wild. I want you. All of you. The best and the worst and everything in between.โ€

What a heartbreaking, but hopeful story about a man who was forced to live alone in the wilderness since childhood, and the woman who helps bring him back to life. This book had me feeling so many emotions. I love that both Jak and Harper were there to lean on each other in navigating the loneliness and loss they experienced, and the found family they made along the way in Agent Gallagher and his wife. I was shocked at some of the twists that happened later on! The ending had me hooked and I cannot wait to read more books in this series!

Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Where do I even start with this book?! I was flying through the pages trying to solve the mysteries along with the characters. My heart breaking with each new revelation into Jakโ€™s life. It was suspenseful, with plot twists and turns throughout that kept me up way too late needing to know what was coming next. It was a wonderful balance of mystery/suspense and romance. I have read 2 other books by Mia Sheridan, but loved the addition of the mystery element to this one. And she did a fantastic job putting the world into Jakโ€™s perspective and the irony of others looking at him as uncivilized when so much of the accepted world is truly uncivilized. I also enjoyed having the variety in perspectives and scenes throughout the book. It felt like watching a movie and helped piece together the mystery more naturally for me. I felt everything while reading this book and I will be thinking about it for years to come I know. Thank you Netgalley and SOURCEBOOKS Bloombooks for an opportunity to read this ARC!!

What a wild ride! I have been in the mood for a good romantic suspense book for a while. Let me tell you, Unwanted did not disappoint.

Without giving too much away, Unwanted follows Harper, a wilderness guide, who is brought in to assist with the Montana Department of Justice on a unique homicide case. At the police station, she meets Lucas, a man living off grid who may have some clues into what happened. As the investigation continues, and Harper and Lucasโ€™ relationship grows, the two discover that their lives may intersect in more ways than one.

I enjoy a good Mia Sheridan book! I liked the development of the relationship between the two main characters but I really loved the suspense aspect of the novel. There were some twists that I did not see coming at all! This was a carefully crafted story with so many moving parts that kept me on my toes and dying to find out what happened next.

If you enjoy a small town romance with a hero you cannot help but fall in love with and a good helping of suspense, then this is the book for you!

Many thanks to Bloom Books and Netgalley for the ARC!

Harper has been sent to Montana to assist in a case. The suspect is Lucas, described as a savage because he has lived alone in the forest since childhood.

Very suspenseful. Hard to put down. Perfect combination of romance and mystery. An exciting read.

Thanks to the publisher for the arc.

I was really pleasantly surprised by unwanted, having read another popular book by this author that wasnโ€™t my cup of tea.
I really enjoyed the survivalist aspect and what humans will do to survive. There is definitely opportunity to dive further into that and the psychological effects in a sequel book!

This felt like the perfect split of mystery / and love story for me!

Thanks to netgalley, the author and sourcebooks / bloom books for the e-arc in exchange for my honest review!

WOW!!

I went into this book blind and I'm so glad I did. This book took me through all of the emotions and had me tearing up so much! The suspense and mystery had me on my toes. The plot twists๐ŸคŒ๐Ÿป

Both Harper and Jack have been through so much trauma during their life. And to see how their lives intertwined was mind blowing. Each one of their chapters had me seeing them in different ways. Their truths coming to life was heartbreaking. Their relationship really made me thinking destiny and soulmates are real.

I was a little worried about their being 4 povs but I'm so glad I didn't let it deter me. They're necessary to get the full picture of the story. I can't wait to see what we get next!

Thank you NetGalley and Bloom Books for the arc.

This book will grip you from the very first page and never let go. When you think you know all the twists, it just keeps twisting. This is my first Mia Sheridan novel, but it will not be my last. I could feel the characters pain, fear, and happiness. What a thought provoking exploration of social science, murder, mystery, and romance. I donโ€™t think I will stop thinking about this one for a long, long time. This novel shook me to my core.

Thank you Net Galley and Bloom for this ARC.

biggest thank you to bloom books & netgalley for the arc!

this book was previously titled savaged but it is now rereleasing under a new name/ cover!

REVIEW (no spoilers!!!!):

one thing about mia sheridan.. she is gonna make you cry. this book was such a great story about humanity, loneliness, love, survival & so much more ..

this book is a romantic suspense which i knew going in but omg it was so much more suspenseful & had way more mystery in it than i thought it was going to which i really enjoyed .. i didnโ€™t even know where to begin guessing & it felt like every couple chapters something new was being revealed that changed who the โ€œbad guyโ€ was completelyโ€ฆ

the only thing i didnโ€™t like (which was just a personal preference bc i totally understand why it was included story-wise) was certain times in jakโ€™s pov there was just too much detail about the things he went through that made it weird/uncomfortable to read.. which i know was probably the point considering the reader was supposed to feel that way to fully grasp jakโ€™s journey โ€ฆ but it just wasnโ€™t for me

still tho overall, such a good story! 4 โญ๏ธโ€™s โ€ฆ hoping to get more books in this series bc there were still some unanswered questions by the end of this!!

I absolutely love Mia's books and this was amazing too I kept thinking is he suspicious or is he a good guy? what is he? The story obviously solved the case but I was trying to solve it right along with the pages. I couldnt put this book down it was a lot of fun to feel like a detective.
