Thank you NetGalley for this book. I enjoyed this book but it wasn’t my favorite from her. It had a slow start for me and just took me awhile to read.
Mia Sheridan is one of my favorite authors. Her books read with ease and I find myself finishing them within 2-3 days. Unwanted was a bit farfetched for me with the ending, it was not realistic and needed work.
This book has made Mia Sheridan a must-read author for me! It’s a thriller with romance sprinkled in, and Lucas and Harper were an incredibly engaging couple to read. The story is unique, and Sheridan’s writing style left me wanting to read more of hers. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to review this book, I really enjoyed it!
How Mia could make such a heavy topic into such a beautiful heart wrenching story just truly blows my mind.
This book is from Mia’s “Men & Monsters” series, and I don’t think a series title could be more accurate than that.
Centered around people surviving when placed in horrifying situations, at the hands of demented people, we are shown the strength of those determined to live, and the power of finding family when it feels like all is lost.
My jaw dropped so many times reading this, and Mia truly painted a vivid picture with this story and it was a wild ride of emotions.
All the yes from me!
Multiple POV, Spicy, Flashback Chapters, Virgin MC, Slow Burn
Another emotionally charged romance from Mia Sheridan. The way she is able to combine a well written plot full of twists and turns with a slow burn romance makes Sheridan one of my favorite romance writers but the plot of this book felt a little far fetched and unbelievable at times which took me out of the story.
What just happened? What a creepy, scary, awesome book!! It was so fun to see Mia incorporate suspense into her novel as well and I think she hit a home run! The perfect autumn read!
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.
I will read everything that Mia Sheridan writes, she is one of my favorite romance authors. This one was also beyond amazing, I love that she incorporated crime/suspense aspect as well. I absolutely loved the small town setting and the romance was top notch! Thank you so much to NetGalley and publisher for this ARC! I cannot wait to read more from this author.
Unwanted by Mia Sheridan
3.5 ⭐️
I really really enjoyed this book! I had 0 expectations coming into this one & was very surprised. I love story lines that are set in the wilderness. The imagery in my head is so easy to obtain because of my love for the outdoors. The story line is suspenseful & keeps you turning the page.
This storyline is told from 3 POV: Lucas, Harper & Detective Gallagher. These three POV take you through a story to determine how two members of the community end up dead. Who did it? How can Harper help? Who is this Lucas and why is she so drawn to him?
Overall really enjoyed this book. I loved Mia Sheridan’s writing style. However the ending was a little too far fetched for me.
Read this if you love:
- the great outdoors
-murder mystery
-different worlds romance trope
This was a really great and suspenseful book!
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this arc in exchange for an honest review!
the book started off good and kept my interest but then the whole insta lust and sex thing about animal through me off. I was expecting something like Archer because I loved that book SO HARD and this was just not that.
Him comparing all the sex to animals and him smelling her. idk guys this wasnt it
Absolutely amazing! I read through this so quickly. I couldn’t put it down. The back and forth plot line was just enough to keep you on your toes but not confuse you! I have always loved Mia Sheridan but this is one I will never forget!
Unwanted by Mia Sheridan, it is completely riveting, disturbing, and absolutely plausible all at the same time.
Nature guide Harper Ward is summoned to assist the sheriff's office in solving two grizzly and seemingly unrelated murders. The prime suspect is a young man completely shrouded in mystery. Raised on the land of the second murder victim since he was a young boy, he has no family and no known past. Yet something about him pulls Harper to him like a magnet. As the storyline evolves, the pieces just don't quite fit, or is it that they fit together too well?
Thank you, NetGalley and SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books, for a copy of Unwanted in exchange for an honest review. I was on the edge of my seat the entire book and have thought about it so many times already since I finished it. This one may stick with me for a while...
I loved it. I have loved every Mia Sheridan book that I’ve read so far and this is no different. Modern Tarzan with a twist? Yes.
ARC Review
Modern day Tarzan?! Hello!
This book was wild and twisty and romantic and I really really enjoyed it. I had a little bit of a hard time getting into it, but once it picked up, I was hooked! Maybe just a tad bit shorter and it would have been near perfect. I loved Jak and Harper and the Gallaghers so much. Can't wait to see how the rest of the series plays out
At first I didn't know what to think about the book, it was a little slow moving for me, but as it began to pick up around 30% through, I needed to know what was happening. As a reader, I couldn't relate to all the characters, but I did have so many emotions towards them. Ms Sheridan wrote these characters in a way you had so many emotions towards them, whether it was hate or love.
*4.5
I never fully knew what was going to happen next in this book. Every moment had me hanging on the edge. I really liked Jak and Harpers relationship. They just instantly understood each other despite living very different lives.
I received an arc through netgalley.
This one is a must read! You won't want to put this one down. Harpor a wilderness guide is asked to help on a double murder case where the suspect is this wild savage man who grew up in the Montana wilderness. Is he the murderer they claim??
Gripping read that kept me on engaged throughout the whole story. My heart ached for Jak and what he had to go through to survive based on a mad man's whims. I can't wait to read the next books in this series. Definitely will be adding this author to my must reads list!
A few surprising twists that I didn’t anticipate, and a pretty solid romance! I thought that the way Mia Sheridan wrote about Jak was really sophisticated and interesting.
This book took me on an emotional journey that I didn’t want to end. The way the author blends suspense and romance is absolutely captivating, creating a story that feels both intense and deeply personal. The characters, especially the wilderness guide with his savage yet endearing personality, are unforgettable. It’s almost unbelievable how the story navigates the ruggedness of the wild while unraveling the intricacies of human emotions.
The plot masterfully weaves together elements from the past with present-day mysteries, including two murders that kept me guessing at every turn. The sense of suspense was palpable, and I was drawn into the challenge of solving the mystery alongside the characters. Yet, amid all the tension and danger, there was a beautiful love story developing—a connection that felt both impossible and inevitable.
This is a story where mystery and romance collide, creating a rich narrative that is as heart-pounding as it is heartwarming. It's the kind of book that lingers with you long after you've turned the last page.
