What happens when an ER nurse in the bustling metropolis of New Orleans puts herself on the line to save her brother? She goes head-to-head with Lachlan Gage, a member of the family that runs the city! Thrown into things she doesn't understand, and against her will, she must stay strong to keep her head above water and fight the feelings that she is beginning to have for Lachlan. This book is full of twists and turns at every chapter, can't wait until the sequel comes out!

This story hooked me from the start. Cate Hollowayโ€™s desperate confrontation with the Gage crime family to save her brother was intense. Lachlan Gage, the deadly yet alluring fae prince, demands her soul in exchange, binding her to his mysterious world. The plot is a captivating blend of romance and fantasy, set against the backdrop of the dangerous and magical Otherworld. The chemistry between Cate and Lachlan is electrifying, and the tension kept me eagerly turning pages. The intricate fae court intrigue adds depth to the story. With its immersive world-building and thrilling cliffhanger, this story is a must-read for fantasy romance fans. I can't wait for the next installment!

I really enjoyed this book. I've read all of the Filthy Rich Vampire series and was very interested in this spin-off. You don't need to have read the FRV series in order to enjoy this book. While I would recommend them, you will not be missing anything if you haven't read them already. FRF has elements of forced proximity and enemies to lovers in a supernatural/fantasy setting, as well the idea of being willing to do anything for those we call family. One thing I really like about both series of books is the overlapping of the real world and the fantasy world. I read plenty of books that are set in other realms or worlds but it's always fun to hear about real places, especially since I live in Louisiana and much of this book takes place in New Orleans. This is a fun and easy read that will keep you interested and ready for the next book in the series to be released!

Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for the digital ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Look, after reading Filthy Rich Vampires and now Filthy Rich Fae, I am convinced, when it comes to Contemporary Urban Fantasy, Geneva Lee can do no wrong. I'm obsessed with her writing. She's got a fantastic way of spinning a tale. Her ability to blend fantasy with our familiar world is captivating. Her characters are vibrant and easy to love. This is one of those books that I finished and just sat there hugging it for a bit cuz it was so much fun. (also that cliffhanger. MA'AM. WHY YOU GOTTA DO ME LIKE THAT)

So Filthy Rich Fae is set in the same world as Filthy Rich Vampires but in a whole new scene, New Orleans. We follow Cate as she breaks her one ruleโ€”don't get involved with the Gagesโ€”in order to rescue her brother from them. In doing so, she ends up getting swept away in the world of the Fae, a world she never dreamed of existing. As she's taken deeper into the enchanting world of the Fae, she also tries to keep her wits about her when it comes to the insanely tempting Lachlan Gage, head of the Gage family.

MY THOUGHTS:

Geneva Lee once again captured my entire imagination with this story. It's clear she did the legwork and researched a lot of the myths, folklore, and legends surrounding the Fae, because from the moment they are introduced, she's repeatedly used both commonly and uncommonly known details about the Fae. ie: do not say thank you to the fae; in order to make a bargain you need to confirm your request 3x; etc. I actually really appreciated the amount of fae folklore she slid into her story. It allowed for a deeper suspension of disbelief, which made it so much easier for my adhd brain to get caught up in the story.

The characters, as always, are a riot. Lachlan is delicious and a mystery. His sister is a riot and I want to be her best friend. Cate is spunky and headstrong, just how I like my FMCs.

I'm completely invested and am so ready for the next book.

This is a paranormal romance book set in a Mafia style setting. The characters and world is very well written. There is whitty banter and the developing relationship with Cate and Lach was great. I just felt it was way to slow. I also think that Mafia style books just aren't for me, although if that's your thing, this book is for you!!

As soon as I realized this was set in New Orleans, I was sold. With the Filthy Rich Vampire series, I knew already like Geneva Leeโ€™s writing, so I was so excited for this one, and the payoff was amazing.
Cate is a nurse at a New Orleans hospital, owned by the Gage family, who basically own New Orleans in more ways than one. Cate makes a deal with Lachlan Gage, the fae prince, to save her brotherโ€™s life. Now that he owns her soul, she must be with him. Is it stockholm syndrome or just realizing he has the best intentions, even with his morally grey actions, who knows, but regardless, they fall for each other the more time spent together. Of course, there are fae politics that do not want them together, and he also has duties to uphold.
There is a way for her to break the bargain, but the more time they spend together, the more she has herself wondering if she even wants to.
Also I will not speak to the events in the third act of this book as that would be major spoilers but GAH my HEART! Book 2. Need now. Please.

Thank you Entangled and NetGalley for the arc!

Rating: 5/5
I received this book for my honest opinion.

FIRST OFF, I NEED BOOK TWO AND RIGHT AWAY!!!!
โ€œAnd if I had to walk into hell to get her back, let me burn.โ€

In this book you will meet Cate Holloway, she is a nurse at Gage Memorial ER. She knows just how dangerous the city of New Orleans can be with having Lachlan Gage running the city. She has seen the overdoses that come in everyday, the gunshot victims and much more. However, she never would have thought that her brother would have gotten mixed up with that crowd until the day he came into her ER. She will do anything and everything to make sure that her brother is out from under Lachlan Gage's hands, even if that means giving up everything that she holds close to her. Will her life ever be the same? Lachlan is not just a businessman, he is a ruler of the city that he lives in and he will do whatever he can to make sure his secrets are kept safe. He thought he had everything that he wanted until one day a woman walked into his hotel demanding to talk to him.

This book will have you devouring it in one sitting, I couldnโ€™t put it down. From the banter between the characters, the enemies to lovers, the forced proximity, touch her and die, great chemistry and of course some really good drama to stir up the pot. I loved this author's other books, Filthy Rich Vampire, so I knew that I would be getting into it when I read this, but I didnโ€™t realize just how much I would love it. This book does start out a little slow but just know that is because itโ€™s more character driven, but by the end you will see the plot start to come out. If youโ€™re like me, you will be swooning and loving what Lachlan tries to do for Cate and will leave you wanting the next book right away. Also, I did not see that person being the bad guy at all. The world building was well done, the pace was great for the first book and the characters are well developed.

The characters are well written, and are easy to connect with. They have a lot of depth to them and the more you read, you see more and more of their personalities come out. I found Cate to be strong even when she was scared. I liked that she didnโ€™t hold back with her banter to Lachlan, and wasnโ€™t afraid to give a piece of her mind. The tension between Cate and Lachlan though is what really did it for me. I enjoy a great chemistry but this level of tension between the characters went beyond that in a great way. The slow burn in this book will have you wanting them to finally kiss and have a hot steamy scene in the book. Lachlan we didnโ€™t get to dive too much into his character yet, but I think in the next book we will learn more about him and what is going on more.

Overall, this book was well written, great character development and the plot and build up will have you wanting the next book asap.

I want to thank NetGalley and Entangled publishing for the opportunity to review this book.

Filthy Rich Fae by Geneva Lee is an amazing start of a new enthralling series.
I loved reading every page of this book - there literally was not one boring chapter. The world the author has created is unique and the story is so intriguing it was almost impossible to put down.

Thank You NetGalley and Entangled: Amara for your generosity and gifting me a copy of this amazing eARC!

This book was a pleasant surprise! My first foray into this author's work was not at all what I expected, but I was not disappointed! From the title, I was expecting a comedy drama about class issues and social pressures, but instead I found a trauma nurse FMC in a steamy mafia-esque romance in a fantasy world filled with people that could all have stories of their own (in fact, they probably do, or will). Fast read, if you're considering it you might as well read it, "[the hood of the Mercedes] is already dented, might as well see what other damage we can do".

Thank you to Entangled for an ARC of this as part of the Insiders read-along. Riki's guided discussions are always wonderful :)

Geneva Lee's book has got me under its spell! This book was my introduction to her work, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed! I participated in a group read-along and was only supposed to read the first eight chapters, but I just couldn't stop there. The story and characters were too good to put down and I finished in one day! Fantasy is quickly becoming my go-to genre for a good escape - from reality!

Thank you to Entangled Publishing for providing an ARC!

Absolutely delightful urban fantasy romance! I was completely drawn in to the world and its characters.

Cate, an ER nurse, has seen the darker side of New Orleans, and itโ€™s all due to the family that owns the city-the Gages. Sheโ€™s sworn never to get tangled up with them but when her brother needs help, sheโ€™s willing to make a bargain with Lachlan Gage. From there, sheโ€™s thrown into his world, one she didnโ€™t know existed, while trying to fight the attraction she feels for Lach. The banter and slow burn is impeccable. ๐Ÿ”ฅ Lach is dangerous, mysterious, and tempting from the start. Cate is strong, determined, and fiercely loyal. Their chemistry jumps off the pages and pulls you in.

And that ending?!?! ๐Ÿคฏ I have so many thoughts and theories about whatโ€™s going on. Know that this ends on a cliffhanger that will leave you wanting more!

Thank you to Entangled for an advanced copy of this book.

My mind is blown after finishing Filthy Rich Fae and I loved reading this book so much that now Iโ€™m anxiously waiting for book 2! The dilemma for me is how much should I discuss/share without giving too much away? ๐Ÿค” letโ€™s try to keep it vague๐Ÿ˜ˆ

We get:
๐ŸฉถSingle POV
๐ŸฉถFae bargain
๐ŸฉถForced proximity
๐ŸฉถAntagonistic banter
๐ŸฉถSlow burn
๐ŸฉถTouch her and die
๐ŸฉถCliffhanger

I loved the independent and nurturing nature of Cate, who literally will do whatever it takes to save her brother from a bad situation. Her journey from NOLA nurse to bargained to the fae is a wild ride. I love how she is up for the challenge and rolls with it all.

Lachlan is the mysterious powerful leader of the notorious Gage family; everyone in the city knows not to cross them or face the consequences. Heโ€™s a morally gray brooding hottie, but we peel back layer after layer as the story unfolds. We see heโ€™ll also do whatever it takes to protect his own.

This is perfect for readers who love fantasy romance mixed with a modern setting. If you loved ACOTAR, TOG, Crescent City, then I think youโ€™ll love this too.

There is a lot of information at the start to set the world building, and I would have loved to see a more emotional connection build between Cate and Lachlan at the start. Overall I loved this book and itโ€™s a great start to a new series. Iโ€™m hooked! ๐Ÿค—

Thank you to Entangled for the ARC. Thoughts and opinions are my own and my review is voluntary.

Thank you to NetGalley & Entangled for this book to review!

I went into this book expecting fae, romance, and fun. And while yes, this book had ALL of these things, it also had some amazing humor, banter, tension and twists and turns. I kept turning and laughing to my husband saying this book had no business being as intensely page-turning as it ended up being for me. When I say I became invested, I mean I became *INVESTED*.

The book follows a very Beauty and the Beast meets Hades & Persephone sort of plot initially, placing the two main characters in an urban fantasy setting where the FMC trades her nights for her brother being released from his own bargain with the Fae Prince. Her brother is safe and left alone in exchange for her staying with the MMC and the rest of the fae every evening until sunrise. But this particular fae family is also basically a crime family in the heart of New Orleans and there's a lot of other factors at play.

I was supposed to read this book in paced read along w/ other Entangled readers and I definitely finished this in a day. And the ending of this book is already making me count down the days until book 2 releases in January!

If you enjoy fae romances & especially if you love a little romantic suspense with your romantasy, then this book is DEFINITELY for you!

Wow! What a great read. I was hooked from the beginning to the end. I was thrown for a loop at the end. I can't wait to read the next one. I also look forward to reading Filfty Rich Vampires.

Filthy Rich Fae is an absolute must-read book. It features captivating, phenomenal world-building and a deliciously complex Fae character that you'll hate to love, alongside a powerhouse of a female main character. This is my top read of the year so far.

Cate is determined to do whatever it takes to help her brother, even if it means bargaining with Lach, the ruler of New Orleans. Despite the rumors surrounding his family, things are not as they appear. Lach is a delicious, handsome Fae. The chemistry and banter between the two is top-notch.

Iโ€™m highly impressed with the writing and fell in love with the main characters and some of the side characters. The cliffhanger is a doozy, and I canโ€™t wait to see what happens next

Filthy Rich Fae was a quick read that was a lot of fun! With a little bit of an enemies to lovers vibe and the heroine being a captive, I flew through this book. The banter and tension was done so well. And I loved that I was already smiling and laughing after a couple of chapters in. Plus, while I thought I knew where the storyline was going, those last few pages had me so excited for whatโ€™s to come next!

Cate Holloway bargained her life away to save her brother. And she found herself trapped with the fae. Lachlan Gage was a fae, drug lord, criminal, and not someone you would ever want to cross. Yet Cate had a death wish at times. She planned to kill the fae prince, so she could escape. Yet thatโ€™s not how her story played out at all!

Cate was selfless and someone who always wanted to take care of others. Yet she definitely made mistakes. The safety, oh girl, I was laughing at you for that one. But despite her being challenging at times, I liked her. I found myself easily rooting for her! And I wanted to know every single thought she had about Lachlan!

Lachlan messed with Cate so beautifully! I loved the sexual tension between them, and it was so much fun. But most of all I loved when Lach showed us that yes, he did have a heart. Yet there were so many secrets swirling around him, and at times he seemed to speak in riddles. I couldn't help but be intrigued, just like Cate.

I was fascinated with their world and felt like we only got little peaks here and there. For not only their magic but what is beyond the veil too. Iโ€™m excited to learn more in future book(s)! And my favorite side character was Lachโ€™s sister, Ciara. I could easily read a book just from her point of view! Iโ€™ll definitely be reading the next book!

Wow!! Thatโ€™s all I can say for that ending and the story. Cate works at Gage Memorial Hospital knowing that the Gage Family of New Orleans isnโ€™t to be crossed. She sees the result of interacting with them in her patients. But what happens when you have no choice but to involve yourself with the plague that is Gage, specially Lachlan Gage.
This story was so action packed, I had to keep reading. It felt like I couldnโ€™t stop once I started. Part of me is also biased because I love stories set in New Orleans and this one was no different. It intertwined the known history and magic of the city in a twist I wasnโ€™t anticipating. Magic, parallel realms and teasing enemies to lovers. So good!!! I am I little but hurt about that cliff hanger but definitely will be keeping an eye out for book 2๐Ÿ–ค

โ€œDeath was business as usual, and tonight, business was โ€ฆ good?โ€
We meet our heroine Cate, who is a nurse in a busy emergency room in a hospital named for a prominent and notorious family, the Gages. Sheโ€™s a little bored, and then two shooting victims come in by ambulance. One has pointed ears (what?), and one is her foster brother. She soon learns that her brother is indebted to the head of the Gage family, and decides to see if she can get him free from them before he becomes another statistic. In addition to the deaths by gun and knives, there is a toxic version of the local recreational drug, that is poisoning a lot of people.
She meets a handsome man eating an apple outside the hotel that is their headquarters, and he lets her in, warning her not to eat or drink anything. She eventually learns that they are Fae and that there is a whole world outside of her experience and understanding. She finds herself in a bargain with him and is transported to the world of the Fae. There is a lot of scheming and treachery, and a lot of banter between her and Lachlan Gage, the head of the Nether World of Fae (there are 4 worlds, two light, two dark). We are introduced to a lot of people, Lachโ€™s shadow, his little brother and two sisters, and the heads of the other Fae Courts. Not everyone is what they seem to be. The novel ends on a cliff hanger, and there is at least one novel to come.
This novel is from the same world as Filthy Rich Vampire, but the world building is done here for the Fae world (pointed ears, extraordinary beauty, and a lot of cruelty). You donโ€™t need to have read the Vampires to understand the world here.

As a nurse, Cate has sworn not to harm and do her best to help those in need. But when her brother gets involved with the notorious Gage family, she puts everything on the line to get him free. She finds herself bargaining with Lachlan Gage himself, a dangerous fae prince, until her very soul is owned by him. Will she be able to find a way to break the bargain in time before he owns her forever?

This was such a captivating read! The fae world this story is set in was really intriguing and the I found myself flying through the book to learn more. The relationship between the two main characters was filled with so much angst and tension and I couldnโ€™t wait to see how everything played out. The last few chapters had me on the edge of my seat and I will be thinking about it until the second book releases!

Thank you so much to Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC!
