Book: Flithy Rich Fae by Geneva Lee
Tropes/Themes: Forced Proximity, Family Ties, Royal Politics, Spicy Romantasy

Flithy Rich Fae is about a young woman named Cate who works in a hospital and has seen her fair share of the corruption in New Orleans. Patients are coming in after overdosing on the street drugs the Gage family are suppling. After her brother comes to the hospital mixed up with the Gage family Cate decides to take things into her own hands and makes a deal with Lachlan Gage for her brother’s soul.

This book was a fast pace romantasy novel that had a mafia vibe to it. The character devolvement was well done and there were so many chapters that ended with cliffhangers that made it hard to put down. The tension between Lach and Cate keeps the reader wanting more and does not disappoint. There is still a lot of questions and theories to be had once you are done with the book making the wait for the next one seem unbearable.

Quick and thrilling read, all the politics I love in a fantasy with a poignant romance too. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the free advance copy.

This was my first book from Lee, and I'm quite pleased with it! I'm always noticing foreshadowing in books because I've been a writer my whole life and am professionally trained in creative writing but I couldn't predict a single thing Lee foreshadowed (except that one particular item was important in some way, even though I STILL don't know WHY it's important!). Because of that, it was a super enjoyable read!

I think there was only one instance where I had to reread a sentence because it didn't sound right, but it's an ARC so it might not stay. The pacing was good. Even in the slower parts I wasn't bored. I really liked Cate, I felt like she was a believable FMC and I liked her spice. I didn't have any plot hole issues, pacing issues or lack of interest at any point in the story. I loved the banter, and I really liked the way the magic in the world worked.

Not a five-star for me because while I enjoyed the writing, I didn't find myself highlighting much because the prose was so good or the lines were exemplary. The writing was quality but doesn't stand out among other books like it. Not a bad thing, but that's why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

There's so many questions I still have, so I can't wait for the next one!

I wish I hadn’t been so busy lately so I could have read Filthy Rich Fae in one sitting. It’s that kind of book!

Cate is a nurse at a hospital where they are dealing with overdoses from a product on the streets. When her foster brother comes to the hospital injured and possibly involved with the product source, Cate decides to step in… and unknowingly makes a deal for her soul to a high-powered fae.

There is so much tension between Cate and Lach! Angsty, snarky, stubborn, protective - they’ve both met their match. The two of them going at each other was both frustrating and admirable because they both really fight for what they believe in.

And the siblings! I ended up really liking Ciara. She gives you what you need to have until she turns it to her benefit. She’s nice enough but also great at manipulation!

Without giving spoilers, the last 25% was my favorite part of the book. There’s no way I could have seen that ending coming. It’s an ending that will make you want to throw the book (in a great way)!

Thank you to the publisher for the opportunity to read this book. The review expresses my own opinions. I thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the readalong and hearing everyone’s take!

This was actually my first book by Geneva and it did not disappoint. The FMC, Cate, is a human who gets pulled into the fae world after going to strike a bargain with Lachlan Gage on behalf of her brother. I enjoyed that we got to see both The “Otherworld” and New Orleans throughout the story and it made it more immersive for the reader. The world building and fae courts wasn’t overwhelming but I would’ve loved learning just a tad more about each court. The banter and sexual tension was done so well and the slow burn was fleshed out just right. The only thing I was missing was a little more legit relationship building between Gage and Cate, like more instances of them really spending time together and getting to know each other as they both have complicated pasts and trauma. Lachlan was such a gentleman in terms of consent and had my heart by the end. I’ll be anxiously awaiting Book 2 next year 🩷 also interested in seeing more of the side characters (mainly the whole Gage family)

“Slay the monster, princess.”

This book was really fun! I enjoyed the set up and the two main characters chemistry was 🔥

Full of great banter and complex characters. I would say this is a medium burn hate to love romance. Well paced with lots of tension. The plot outside the romance was interesting and I always appreciate strong world building with my romantasy.

Cate works in a hospital and her brother is brought in with a gunshot would, Now she is going to go after the man who put it there. When she meets him she gives him her soul if he leaves her brother alone. Only to find out he is Fae and there is a whole underworld of them. He is also very powerful and rich.
She went to him on her own and I did not feel sorry for her when it got to be to much for her. But he does treat her well to a certain point and the things that go on n the Fae world stays there. I liked most of the characters and the book was fast paced. I can't wait to read the next book.
Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for the ARC to review.

A true enemies to lovers fae-tastical romance featuring an insane amount of tension along with a healthy side dose of humor and intrigue.

“Something impossible. Something inescapable. Something worth fighting for.”

This was such a fun one to do as a read-along! Cate bargains away her nights to save her brother, and ends up getting a little too close to Lachlan Gage.

As Cate gets to know his friends and family, she realizes just how much he's changed her life, and she can't decide if she's furious or grateful. Lachlan can't believe how drawn to Cate he is, and makes a selfish decision for the first time in over a century.

As Lach and Cate figure out what's between them, court drama continues and the war over a street substance is far from over. The biggest concern now is whether or not Lach can keep her safe.

4/5

This book was a mix of ACOMAF and any other Mafia book.

Making a bargain to save your sibling—that’s what you do for family. TRICKED, and desperate; she bartered the only thing he wanted: her soul. She wants out of the bargain, and he doesn’t like to take the word “No” or be challenged.

It was an amazing ride reading the journey of Cate and Lachlan, with a slow burn semi-spicy romance.

Words cannot express just how much I absolutely love this story. It had me from start to finish. I was looking for a page turner and boy did I get it! The world building, the back stories, the characters. Dark Romance meets the mystique of fae mythology.

The chemistry between Cate and Lach is the perfect amount of spice, slow burn, truly electric, let's not forget the love the hate. Their story is one of courage, sacrifice, and the kind of love that defies all odds. Once I started it was so hard to put down.

To all my fellow readers, if you’re seeking a book that will enrapture you, challenge you, and leave you aching for more—look no further. “Filthy Rich Fae” is the one. It’s a story that I hold dear, and I am eager to share this love with you. Well above a 5 star read!

I loved everything about this book. The world building was great- enough without being over the top. The tension and interactions between the main female and male characters is perfect. The author does so well in describing the way Cate feels, it makes the characters actions and words feel authentic. I was surprised at the ending, which is good as I can usually guess. Really looking forward the rest of this series!

✔️ Paranormal romance (Fae)
✔️ Touch her and 💀
✔️ Shadow Daddy
✔️ Mafia vibes

Holy crap, this book must be written in clover because it is SO freaking addictive. Thank you so, so, much @ and @ for letting me be a part of this wonderful experience. ❤️ This was my first readathon and my first time reading any of Geneva Lee’s work, so I was a little nervous I wasn’t going to read fast enough….but as soon as I got started I literally couldn’t put it down. (I’m not just saying that either I had to physically push my phone away so I’d stop trying that “just one more chapter” lie.) As a side note….I finished it on day 2…so that should tell you just how great this book was. (and I’m not a quick reader 🤣)

I loved absolutely everything about this book - the pacing, the story, the characters, the spice, the romance. Absolutely everything was perfect. Lachlan 🔥🔥🔥 has gotten himself added to my book boyfriends list. He was everything I want in a shadow daddy. Princess Cate was also a great FC she was a little bit of a baddie but mostly was the heart of the story. Cate and Lachlans romance and banter was SO good. I could read a million more pages of them just going back and forth and would be so happy. This book truly hooked me and the cliffhanger has left me thinking of every possible scenario that could happen next. I wish the rest of the series was out already so I could binge it all. 🤣 But until the next ones come out I’ll be hunting down and reading her Filthy Rich Vampire series. ❤️

“I’d never been with someone like this, so wholly that the entire world fell away and there was only him and us and nothing else mattered.”

Amazing. The banter and strength of character were my most favorite parts. So excited for book two in this series.

I gave Filthy Rich Fae five ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you Entangled Publishing for the ARC and the read along. These are my honest opinions.

Holy hell! I loved this book! I loved everything about it. The angst, the slow burn, the world building, the characters. All of it.

There are enough twists and turns to keep you guessing about some things. There are other things that I predicted and I was happy to see them come true. I was so invested in all of the characters, but especially Cate and Lach. I loved Ciara, too. I want to be her best friend!

It does end on a cliffhanger and book 2 doesn’t come out until January 2025 😥 but I already have it preordered because it is going to be epic!

Cate Holloway is a nurse who lives and works in New Orleans. She grew up an orphan but is very close to her foster brother and would do anything to protect him. When her brother, Channing, ends up in the ER with a gun shot wound after an incident with Lachlan Gage. Cate decides to visit Lachlan and make a bargain to free Channing from Lachlan’s hold. She ends up bargaining her own life for her brothers and must spend every night with Lachlan. What she doesn’t know is that Lachlan is a Fae prince and much more powerful than she could have ever imagined. Cate spends most of the story learning about Fae, the otherworld and the Nether Court. She also meets Lachlan’s family and becomes instant friends with his sister Ciara. Lachlan is clearly attracted to Cate but he is so sweet and protective of her that he doesn’t force his feelings on her. He allows her to live her life within the confines of their bargain and he continually promises her that she is safe with him. Lachlan is the king of Nee Orleans and not known as a good guy but even he says that Cate makes him feel calm. The two of them together are like magnets and it just feels wrong when they aren’t together. This book was SO good and I truly can’t wait for the next one. Beware, the story ends on a cliffhanger and you will be desperate to know more!

Thank you to Entangled Publishing for allowing me to read this ARC and participate in the read along.

I love everything about this book! It grabbed me from the moment I started reading it until the very end. A grumpy MMC and a FMC who is broken and lost. The two of them together create a story that is magnetic. A lost soul who has never been shown love and a girl who has been abused and cast out her whole life. I love both of them and the story is so well written! I definitely recommend for your next fantasy read!

Oh my God cliffhanger!!

Very very very good book! But be prepared to be left heartbroken by the ending, or lack thereof. I cannot wait for book 2!

In order to save her brother, Cate makes a bargain with Gage, the boss of New Orleans. What she doesn't know: he is a fae who staked his claim on New Orleans and his bargain is forever. Cate finds herself trying to navigate the politics or the fae world, searching for a way to break her bargain, and NOT fall for Lachlan Gage along the way.

I loved the character development and world building! Set in the same universe of Filthy Rich Vampire but the start of a stand-a-lone series.

This is my first book by this author and now I have her Filthy Rich Vampire series ordered. Oh My Goodness I cannot even put into coherent words with what I went through reading this book. There was so many twists and turns in the plot and some I didn’t see coming. The world was easy to understand and didn’t need immense amounts of world building, the characters were very well thought out and the overall story was *Chefs kiss* This was the kind of book you need to be able to read in one sitting its very hard to put down.

-Mafia vibes
-Touch her and die
-Fae
-Magical worlds
-Strong MFC
-Morally grey MMC
-Bargains

Our MFC Cate is a very strong independent woman, she’s a nurse and works in the local hospital. Her sole purpose is to help and save people, so what happens when her brother makes a deal and it goes wrong landing him in the ER? Cate has no other choice (So she thinks) than to barge into the house of the person who runs the city, demanding she repay her brother’s debt. Oh but she doesn’t realize when she bargained her soul away that it would be with the Fae, yes Fae… As in cute little fairies? No the kind that are just like humans but with magic and their own realm which Cate has to now stay in.

Our MMC Daddy, Ope I mean Lachlan Gage is a brooding, handsome fae male. Just the way we like them, correct? Oh did he mention he’s also the crown prince of his court? No, well there is that too. Lach is everything we wish and dream of, honestly I would sell my soul to spend eternity stuck with him. Sign. Me. Up.

I’ll just wait here for book 2 and my invite to the midnight feast.
