If Something Happens To Me was such an unexpected thriller to me. I went in blind because I’ve enjoyed all of the books I’ve read by Alex Finlay, and I am so glad I did. There are so many thrillers out there and it is hard to write one that is original and exciting, but Alex did!
Five years ago was Ryan’s worst day of his life. His high school girl friend Ali and her car disappeared without a trace. He was the last one with her and he can’t remember what happened. Ryan was never officially convicted but the town decided his guilt. He still remembers very little and blames himself. However, Ali’s car is found with two random dead men, leading everyone to way more questions than answers.
The adventure in this book was perfect and there was so much detail, it felt like a movie in my head. I hope this book gets turned into a movie one day!
I highly recommend this book for any one who loves an action packed thriller in a small town with more secrets than people.
Alex kept each character storyline perfectly organized and paced this entire book perfectly.
The ending of this book was exactly want I wanted!
I received the audio book from NetGalley. The narration was done by a team on three people, all of which, were fantastic and brought a lot to this story! It helped to keep all of these characters straight throughout the book.
Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for an arc of If Something Happens To Me by Alex Findlay!

My rating: 4.5 stars
Ryan Richardson’s girlfriend, Ali, was kidnapped during their senior year of high school. As he was the last person to see Ali, all eyes were on him as a possible suspect.
Fast forward five years and Ryan has never been able to shake what happened that night. While on a trip with to Italy with his law school cohorts, he receives a mysterious note. This sets the wheels in motion to finally figure out what really happened to Ali. The story is told from multiple perspectives and across various locations.
Wow, what a wild and fun read! I loved the multi-cast narration and the fast pace of this thriller. It was an easy listen that kept me engaged and eager to solve the mystery of Ali’s disappearance. This was my first book by the author and it certainly will not be the last!
Thank you to MacMillan Audio as well as Netgalley for each sending an ALC of this title in exchange for my honest review.

I’m giving this book a 2.5 star rating. First off, I’m thankful that I got an opportunity to read this ARC! Some things I did enjoy about this book were the way it all connected at the end of the story. I also liked that there were different voices for the characters & that enhanced my experience. Some things I didn’t enjoy were that I felt like the story was jumping from place to place & I felt like there were new characters always being added to the story, it felt kind of difficult to follow. Even though I rated this book a 2.5 star, I still plan on reading more books from this author! I definitely suggest you read it yourself and decide if you like it or not.

This thriller was told through multiple story lines that connected on a surprising way a bit later in the book. I liked the twist of it, but felt like the end was a bit too easy.
Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan audio for the ARC

I have read multiple books by Alex Finlay and have enjoyed all of them. This was an obvious choice to read.
The multi-cast narration was excellent and definitely enhanced my reading experience. I listened at 2x. I also read along with a digital copy as well.

I was excited to read If Something Happens to Me by Alex Finlay since I enjoyed his other two books What Have We Done and The Night Shift. I was also excited to listen to this audiobook since one of the multi-cast narrators is Helen Laser and I really enjoy her narration. The other two narrators John Pirhalla and Paul Dateh were good too. I was engaged to listen to this book but I found there was a bit too much going on. Each point of view was in a different location and we’d be going back and forth with aliases and past and present. As the secrets of the main character Ryan’s past are revealed including what really happened to his girlfriend that disappeared it just felt anti-climactic to me. I felt some of the writing was cliche and several characters were flat. I liked the quick pace and would be open to reading more by this author.

I normally don’t read thrillers but this was a lot of fun and I might have to pick up more! I was invested throughout and was gasping at some of the twists and turns. The characters are all well developed and I thought the ending was very apt.

Add this to your TBR immediately!! I did the audio version and it was just so easy to breeze through. Multiple POV’s with multiple narrators, need I say more?
This has what feels like 3 entirely different character stories going that don’t really start to intermingle until the last 2-3 hours and I loved it! I truly had no ideas who was behind Allison’s disappearance and was completely floored when the twists began to untangle! When Poppy lasers in and makes sense of things with her big run on sentence my brain said 🤯 Lol this was a really fun listen and I look forward to more from this author.

Fun and fast-moving popcorn thriller with multiple POVs. I enjoyed this so much on audio. The full cast narration was excellent! While this didn't have me on the edge of my seat, it was a solid suspense novel that I will recommend! I think that readers who enjoyed The Night Shift will love this one.

Holy Batman people, there were so many twists and turns in this one that I could have used a map and I loved every bit of it.
With multiple timelines, multiple points of view, and multiple storylines this could have gotten confusing, thankfully we had a cast of narrators that gave each character a unique voice and mad this such an immersive experience.
While listening to this one more than once I found myself saying wait what... it kept me guessing until the end and was so much fun to listen to. I'm still realling from that last revelation, I seriously didn't see most of the twists coming.
If you're looking for a story filled with mystery and intrigue, murder, theft, and coverups all while trying to avoid the mob, this one is for you, in short it's fantastic and I loved every second I put into it.
Thank you to Macmillan Audio for providing a copy of this audiobook, I have voluntarily listened to it and all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Finlay is a master at a twist as I did not see one of the biggest ones in this book coming. If Something Happens to Me is the story of a five year old missing person case and how it breaks open again when the missing girls, Ali's, car is found at the bottom of a lake with not her, but someone else in it. I enjoyed this story for the most part, though the narrator for Ryan threw me off track and I wasn't really convinced by the ending. Thank you to Macmillan Audio, St. Martin's Press, and NetGalley for the early listen in exchange for my honest opinion.

3.5 stars rounded up. I highly anticipated this book and it didn't quite live up to all that I was hoping. It was still really good, very suspenseful and an ending that I really didn't see coming which was great. The time lines were a little confusing which is probably why the ending was a little harder to predict.
I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I was approved to be an ARC reader for this book and I was over the moon excited as I’d heard a lot of great things about this book. It’s such an amazing story going back and forward time wise. Sometimes it got all mixed up but it was still a great story which was well told with all the kind of things about a book that I like. It was a super fun read filled with unexpected twists and turns and suspense. Romantics parts and heartbreak sometimes. I recommend it though

Thank you NetGalley and Macmillan audio for this audio ARC.
It took me a bit to wrap my thoughts up on this one. I thought I had it figured out early on, but dismissed my theory because one tiny detail was missing for it to fit. In the end, I was freaking right.
The narrators, Helen Laser; John Pirhalla; Paul Dateh, were great in bringing the story to life. I really enjoyed this one.

Great book. IF I were to give some constructive criticism, I would like a little more time spent on the ending - more time with the FBI agent, delving more into her choices as to why she turned, and more time with Allison - that she will fall in love and move on in happiness.

I like the Schrödinger's cat of timeline Finlay creates: is it one timeline or are there multiple? Are we talking about same people over the years or are these all different people? He makes your mind work overtime. But if you read his other books before, you know what's coming your way!
Ryan's girlfriend was abducted right before him. A guy came and snatched her. No one knew who that person might be or what he wanted. Ali was not hated; she should not have any enemies. On the other hand, this mob boss had a lot of people who would want him or his son dead. Yet, his son ended his own life. He was bullied in his new school. He didn't have right support system to help even though therapy was made available to him. Somehow these stories got tangled and Ryan found himself in the middle of this mess that marked him murderer when he was clearly not.
I liked the surprise culprit at the end. I'm not going to lie I expected that person to do something scandalizing, and bit out of order. This person had nothing to lose, no one else to fight with and no fear of gaining more enemies. I would prefer to have more time in the end to connect all the dots instead of dropping bombs on us, readers, and go.

Wild and stunning story of danger and dedication, Finlay’s newest thriller is a crazy ride!
While the disparate story lines made for a confusing start to the narrative, I was eventually sucked in to this twisty tale. There were so many layers that added to the dense plot and the characters had very satisfying arcs.
I think you’ll love the progression of the characters, the intense revelations and the satisfying ending.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for my copy. These opinions are my own.

A Big Thanks to Netgalley and Macmillan Audio for letting me tag along on this thrilling adventure.
This story started off with a bang- and just kept on going!! I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to keep up, because we have several locations and characters throughout this story. But don't worry, it's easy to keep up with, and all the twists and turns have everything come together nicely.
This book was a well thought out, well written, fast paced page turner!
Ryan has been living a nightmare since high school, when his girlfriend Ali was ripped trom his arms one night, never to be seen again. His recollection of that evening was vague. To compound the pain, no one believed his tale of what happened.
Years later Ryan changed his last name hoping to reinvent himself.
On a trip to Italy with his law school classmates he catches sight of something that shocks him to the core. It's the man from that dreaded day! Ryan must risk his own life to track this man down and finally find out what happened to Ali.

Alex Finlay does it again!
Another wildly propulsive read by Finlay that is sure to keep you fully engaged trying to assemble the pieces of this twisted puzzle.
If Something Happens To Me is a fast-paced thriller about a missing girl presumed dead and the young man blamed for it, a notorious crime boss, and a new sheriff in town trying to put the pieces together.
As with any thriller, for me, quick chapters are imperative! Finlay doesn’t disappoint with the pacing. I read this via audiobook, and had it finished in less than two days. I couldn’t stop!
It’s multilayered and unsettling with an atmospheric backdrop that unfolds jaw dropping twists and revelations from beginning to end.
Thank you to MacMillan Audio and Minotaur Books for the audio ARC.

How do you ever forget the night your girlfriend was abducted and you were left for dead on the side of the road? Those are the nightmares Ryan lives with along with the fact that most people thought he was involved in the abduction.
The narrative in this book spins a tale of deception that runs deep in the local town with some good twists and turns you won’t see coming. The characters are well developed and abundant in number, but you can easily keep track of them all. The book is packed with action, mystery and intrigue. It’s a book that will keep you engaged and quickly turning the pages.
Thank you NetGalley and Macmillian Audio for my ALC in exchange for my honest opinion.
