Thank you @macmillan.audio for an ALC and @brambleromance for a print copy of this ARC!

THE CLIFFHANGER! Dead. I didn’t realize it said BOOK ONE!! I can’t wait for the next one, I need to know how they fix this. AND the torture they’re about to put each other through in the next book is going to be so good. Can’t wait for their banter again.

Love love love the tension of this one! And the spicy scenes were HOTTT! 🔥🔥

The audiobook was a 3/5 for me. I think that the narrator for Rowan did a great job but the narrator for Holden could overact at times and it was a little hard to get used to. Eventually I did, and was able to enjoy the book despite his narration.

✨hate to love(?)
✨smart and tough FMC
✨rich elite families
✨revenge plot
✨spicy
✨banter
✨cliffhanger
✨mean to everyone but her (eventually)

Definitely check it out if you’re looking for some well written spicy scenes and TENSION right from the start.

Twisted Knight by K. Bromberg is the first book in what I later discovered is a trilogy—a fact that, unfortunately, wasn't clear in the marketing materials. This lack of disclosure had a significant impact on my reading experience. While I enjoy a good cliffhanger when I'm prepared for it, reaching the end of a 68-chapter book only to realize the story wasn't complete left me more frustrated than satisfied. The lack of content warnings in the book is also an issue. It needs to be clear that it is dealing with the death of a sibling.

Rowan, the FMC, is a Rothschild heiress with a passion for reviving her family's alcohol company, Tin Spirits, despite societal pressures to conform to a more traditional role. Her plans are upended by the arrival of Holden Knight, a tech millionaire with his own agenda, sparking a slow-burn romance fueled by animosity and attraction. However, Rowan's entitlement, lack of self-awareness, and frequent unprofessional outbursts in the workplace made it difficult for me to fully connect with her character. Her misdirected aggression towards Knight, who was simply executing a legitimate business deal, felt more childish than empowering.

On the other hand, Holden Knight's character was intriguing. His mysterious motives and calculated charm kept me engaged, though the frequent flashbacks and the book's pacing at times felt stunted. The tension between the characters, while initially compelling, eventually devolved into repetitive bickering, leaving me craving more substantive development in both the romance and the business subplot.

The audiobook, narrated by Patrick Zeller and Victoria Connolly, had its strengths and weaknesses. Zeller brought a lot of emotion to the male POV, though it occasionally felt overdone, while Connolly's crisper delivery was enjoyable but perhaps lacked the same emotional depth. The sound production by Macmillan Audio was top-notch, making for a pleasant listening experience overall.

One of my biggest disappointments was discovering that this book ends on a cliffhanger. Had I known this was the first in a series, I might have approached it differently. The plot, while intriguing, felt stretched, and I would have preferred a single, well-rounded novel over multiple books that seem to thinly plot the story. Additionally, the title Twisted Knight didn't quite align with the book's tone—it felt more suited to a darker romance than what was presented here.

Overall, Twisted Knight is a fine read for fans of billionaire romances, but it doesn't particularly stand out. The lack of clarity about the series structure and Rowan's character left me feeling more frustrated than satisfied. If you're a fan of the genre and don't mind waiting for the full story to unfold over multiple books, this might be for you. However, for those who prefer a more complete story in one sitting, be prepared for the cliffhanger.

Many thanks to Macmillan Audio, author K. Bromberg, and NetGalley for providing me with the ALC in exchange for my honest review.

Holden Knight has one thing in his mind and that's revenge. His mission to destroy the Rothschild family and get them where it hurts the most. What he didn't count on was Rowan Rothschild. Rowan has only ever wanted one thing; to run her family's company. Everyone likes to underestimate Rowan, but she's done being in the background. Rowan will do whatever it takes to save a part of her family's company, even it means making a deal with the devil.

Twisted Knight is a fantastic read from beginning to end and all I can say is you'd better hang on because you are in for one bumpy ride.

Filled with entertaining banter, explosive chemistry, and delicious enemies to lovers vibes, Twisted Knight will definitely keep readers on their toes. The fight and pull between Rowan and Holden will have you devouring every page, wondering what will happen next. The secrets, lies, and betrayal will frustrate you to no end. And just when you think all the cards have been laid out on the table, an unexpected twist with a cliffhanger ending, will leave you begging for more. I can not wait to see where this story will go next.

Noooooooo! This book is not a standalone, and I didn't realize it until I reached the last page with that WTH ending! I want to scream! Actually, I am screaming right now, scaring little children on the beach who were peacefully building sandcastles. Sorry, kids, life isn’t fair!

First, I have to admit that I love K. Bromberg's writing—she blends steam and angst like a gourmet dish you savor with every bite! Her Driven series was amazing, and I’ve enjoyed several of her standalone romances too. Naturally, I couldn’t resist diving into another one of her enemies-to-lovers stories, which always call to my soul!

Rowan, the beautiful daughter of a wealthy family, is expected to settle for a domestic life, constantly overshadowed by her golden-child brother, even though she's smart and more than capable of running the family business. She's tough, resilient, and exactly the kind of heroine I can connect with.

Then enters the mysterious and charismatic Holden, who arrives to disrupt her family—making him enemy number one, right? The tension between them keeps rising, their witty banter flies back and forth, and their undeniable chemistry will have you either screaming or praying for them to get together on that office desk already!

They’re incredible together, but just when you expect a grand finale, you’ll be left disappointed—because this book is part of a series. You’ll be praying to the book gods for K. Bromberg to hurry up with the sequel before you lose your mind with anticipation (or maybe even offer up your internal organs for a sneak peek!).

This is an incredible start to what promises to be an amazing series, but I need the second book ASAP! I’m literally craving it! Here’s hoping we don’t have to wait too long for the conclusion Rowan and Holden’s love story truly deserves!

Many thanks to NetGalley and Tor Publishing Group/Bramble for sharing this steamy series' digital reviewer copy with me in exchange for my honest thoughts.

Personal Compatibility: 3.25 ⭐️
For its Written Purpose: 4.5 ⭐️

OKAY wow. I can't get the ending out of my head because (no spoilers) I want to whack everyone over the head with a golf club 😀

THAT BEING SAID, I think that this was a really well done twisted, fucked up lust-story and I genuinely enjoyed how it came together.

Now for why my personal compatibility rating was so low— I haaaaate miscommunication (deliberate or otherwise) and this one had enough that I wanted to throw the book through a wall. Also Holden sometimes bordered on cringe-Reddit-mod territory with some of his inner monologues.

As a whole though, Twisted Knight gives exactly what it's supposed to: a spicy hate-filled millionaire/billionaire storyline with a really good plot setup and writing that makes you feel

did not realize going into this book that it was going to be a series, so you know that it’s going to end with me wanting more! Ah, I cannot wait to read what is next for Rowan and Holden. They were really good together. The first half of the book was intense with the will they won’t they game, but for me it was more interesting to try to figure out why Holden was going after Rowan’s family. I went into this book completely blind so I had no idea. I ended up having very strong suspicions and pretty much guessing the reason right before it was revealed, but it was still a good reveal. I appreciated Rowan as a character because she was such a strong woman and always striving for more. Once Rowan and Holden came together at about the halfway mark, the tone of the book shifted slightly, and I found myself enjoying it even more. It was hot and they were amazing together and their banter is top notch. The ending is making me conflicted because on one hand I wanted a little more because I am needy, but on the other it is leaving me wanting for more which makes me more likely to read the next book – so the author likely achieved their desired result (ha).

If you are looking for a billionaire romance with plenty of angst and hot moments, then check this one out.

The worst thing about this book? It's not a standalone!! I saw it was a series, but I thought serial standalones and not...SERIES-SERIES. I need book 2 now!

On that note, the beginning of the story starts pretty normal with Rowan being in a high society world where the women are expected to be seen, but not heard. They're expected to be barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen. Her brother, the golden child, is the one who is running the family business and no one takes her serious as she fought for her spot in the company.

Then enters Holden...Mysterious...and...well...Upends everything for Rowan. He's now her #1 enemy, but...there's chemistry there! Not to mention the fact Holden finds her alluring because she's brains and looks. Rowan struggles with trusting him because no one has taken her seriously before so why should a stranger? Not to mention she's very much loyal to her family despite the fact they've never been loyal to her.

It made for a kind of interesting cat and mouse in the first half of the book. Holden definitely played games with Rowan and Rowan played them right back. It was a matter of time before the tension snapped and we'd see who gave in first.

I have to say, once the tension snapped (about 50% of the book), the book got much better for me. The hide-and-seek in the office scene? Phew. That was hot! I love me some office romances and that was something I had not read before and it was hot.

Again, I thought this was a standalone so as I was going through I was like "where's the climax? How is x, y, and z being solved or why was it important?" Then I realized it wasn't ENDING and I wasn't going to get a resolution with so little left and that's when my heart dropped. NOOOO. I wanted them together-together so much! UGH. Then the cliffhanger...While the cliffhanger is not painful or bad...it's just, well, a cliffhanger. I want to know what Holden thinks. I want to know how Rowan sticks it to him. I want to see Holden grovel. But, alas, I have to wait...

The actions in this book is cliche and the connection between the two main lead was inadequate.

I didn’t have any expectations going into this book and I’m glad I didn’t because it was So. Good. What a gloriously written plot. I loved Rowan and Holden, I was craving their banter and thought they were made for each other. Same level of money and same level of freak. The author did a phenomenal job of letting you know which characters you are supposed to hate. They are straight-up deplorable and I actually loved how much I despised them. This is truly a revenge story, so there is a lot to take in history-wise but the flashbacks are incredibly easy to follow. You will definitely feel your feels while reading, there is some heavy stuff throughout but I thought it was really well done. I also liked how the romance progressed, it was not rushed and it happened in a gradual and believable way. Book 2 needs to hustle because that cliffhanger was something else.

Thank you to NetGalley, Bramble, and Tor Publishing Group for this advanced copy. You can pick up Twisted Knight on September 24, 2024.

It didn't take me long to realize that this book isn't quite for me. I didn't enjoy the writing style or connect to the characters the way I would've liked, so I'm afraid I DNF'd this one fairly quickly. That doesn't mean others won't love it though, especially if they like messy, dramatic contemporary romance.

I went into this title completely blind but I definitely see the comparison to it being King of Sin meets It Ends With Us - very apt description

I'm not normally a big fan of billionaire romances but I'm a sucker for workplace romance. The two main characters, Holden and Rowan, have really great chemistry and banter with one another - I loved both of them and was rooting for them the entire time (sometimes with these types of romances one of the people comes off unlikeable but I didn't feel that with either of them)

The pacing of the romance was nice and I'm glad that the FMC wasn't a pushover. The spicy scenes were well done and well placed within the story.

This is the first book I've read by this author but I definitely want to read more from them now!

K. Bromberg's "Twisted Knight" is a gripping tale that delves into the complexities of revenge, identity, and unacknowledged love. The story follows two compelling protagonists—Holden and Rowan—navigating their tumultuous pasts and the entangled emotions that bind them. From the outset, Holden’s determination to seek vengeance for his brother’s wrongs sets a dark and intense tone. He is a character propelled by a fierce sense of justice and loyalty, making him both relatable and captivating. The depth of his pain and desire to make those who hurt his family remember their actions offers reader's a glimpse into his tumultuous psyche. The way Bromberg weaves Holden's motivations showcases her deft ability to create characters that resonate with emotional truth. Rowan, on the other hand, serves as a striking contrast to Holden. Living in her brother's shadow, she embodies the struggles of those often overlooked and underappreciated. Her internal conflict—juggling her ambitions with the weight of her familial obligations—makes her journey both heartbreaking and empowering. As she seeks to claim her identity and step out of the shadows, readers can't help but root for her growth. Bromberg skillfully builds Rowan's character, allowing her to evolve into a formidable force in her own right.
The dynamic between Holden and Rowan is electric, filled with tension and unresolved feelings that leap off the page. Their interactions are marked by an undercurrent of attraction that complicates their paths—especially as Holden battles with the desires that threaten to distract him from his goal of revenge. This intricate interplay of emotions is where Bromberg truly shines; she crafts moments that are both charged and tender, inviting readers into the complexities of their relationship. Bromberg's writing style is evocative and immersive, painting vivid pictures of the characters' experiences. The pacing of "Twisted Knight" keeps readers engaged, expertly balancing moments of tension with quieter, introspective pauses that allow for character development. The small-town setting plays a significant role, immersing readers in an environment that feels both familiar and claustrophobic, enhancing the themes of entrapment and the relentless pull of past decisions. Overall, Twisted Knight is a powerful exploration of love, loyalty, and the struggle for self-definition amidst the chaos of familial expectations and revenge. K. Bromberg has crafted a story that is both intense and heartfelt, inviting readers to ponder the consequences of our choices and the weight of our pasts.

This is surprisingly my first billionaire romance and I really enjoyed it! The spice was awesome, I loved the flashback chapters, and their tension and just chemistry was incredible. I can’t wait for book 2!

Thank you so much Bramble! This was a fantastic billionaire romance. The plot was great and well woven through the story. The characters had amazing banter and chemistry.

This book is so good, a top read for me and it gave exactly what it advertised. I've never read any book by this author before and didn't know what to expect but this exceeded it. This is a billionaire romance and the main characters Holden and Rowan are such good characters. Rowan is from a wealthy family that doesn't appreciate her worth in running the company business while Holden is the incoming CEO who is out to get revenge. immediately they have great banter and chemistry despite the fact that they do not like each other. As the mmc's revenge plan unfolds we get a couple of chapters from 15 years ago where we see why he decided to embark on the revenge plan and I supported him fully lol. I loved the romance and how the main characters matched each other's freak perfectly. The fmc was strong af, not a pushover, and was a boss especially when it came to the steamy scenes. There are the perfect amount of steamy scenes and I liked the progression of the romance. Now that ending has me a bit stressed and I wish I didn't have to wait till next year to read the next book. I would recommend this book to any romance book lover, thank you Bramble for this earc for an honest review.

“being with him feels like I’ve been struck by lightning."

Holden Knight walks into TinSpirits with plenty of money and lots of secrets. the Rothschild siblings know about the former but not about the latter, and they don’t know the secrets will lead to their downfall.

while he has every intention to ruin their family, he’s playing a dangerous game as he gets closer and closer to Rowan Rothschild. he thought she could be the biggest tool at his disposal to move his agenda forward, but she’s actually his biggest distraction: one he wasn’t expecting and one he doesn’t know what to do with.

Rowan has been trying to figure out a way to save her family company since the moment she knew her brother made a deal with the devil. she never expected to fall for the devil.

Holden and Rowan move from loathe to lust to something more pretty quickly, but what will happen when their secrets are exposed and they have to face the music?

I absolutely loved Twisted Knight! uncovering the layers of backstabbing, betrayal, pain, and reluctant desire combined with a destructive cliffhanger made for a wild ride. I’m sick to my stomach that I have to wait for the next book, but I know it’ll be so worth it!
