If you're looking for a fun, feel-good story with a charming male lead, this might be up your alley. However, if you prefer romances with more depth and complexity, you might find it a bit lacking.. The cinnamon roll hero and small town vibes weren't quite enough to balance out a lack of depth with the female lead. The pacing is a bit unbalanced.

Elena Armas delivers another captivating and heartwarming romance with The Fiancé Dilemma, a delightful story about love, family expectations, and unexpected twists. With her signature blend of humor, tension, and emotional depth, Armas has crafted a narrative that is as entertaining as it is heartwarming.

If you, like me, were captivated by Josie Moore in The Long Game—the multi-talented, down-to-earth mayor and coffee shop owner of Green Oak, North Carolina—then you’re in for a treat with Elena Armas’s latest, The Fiancé Dilemma. Josie’s journey continues in this heartfelt, humorous romance that picks up after the dramatic revelation that she and Adalyn are half-sisters, leaving fans of the first book eager to see Josie finally get her happy ending.
In The Fiancé Dilemma, Josie finds herself at the center of a PR nightmare, triggered by a less-than-flattering profile of her biological father, Andrew Underwood (Adalyn’s dad). A PR representative swoops into Green Oak to clean up the mess, but things take a chaotic turn when Josie is mistakenly believed to be engaged to Matthew, Adalyn’s best friend who’s visiting town. This mistaken identity sets the stage for an adorable, fake-relationship romance filled with sparks and surprises.
One of the things I love about this book is Josie as the heroine. She may not always see herself as the confident, put-together woman that others do, but she’s a community leader who runs a successful business and has a heart full of love for those around her. She’s the kind of character who, despite her doubts, makes everyone feel like they matter—and I couldn’t help but root for her throughout the story.
Matthew, for his part, is exactly the swoon-worthy hero we crave. Sweet, thoughtful, and undeniably smitten with Josie, he’s everything you want in a romantic lead. That said, my only regret with the book is that we don’t get more of Matthew’s internal thoughts. While he communicates his feelings openly, I would have loved to see more of his perspective, especially during the story’s key emotional moments. But even without that, his devotion to Josie shines through, making him a truly lovable character.
The Fiancé Dilemma strikes the perfect balance between Hallmark-sweet moments and steamy chemistry, making it an ideal read for the beach or poolside as the weather warms up. The story is packed with delightful twists, charming characters, and plenty of romance, leaving me completely satisfied as I closed the book.
The Fiancé Dilemma will be released on July 30, and I can’t recommend it enough. Huge thanks to Atria Books and NetGalley for the advance copy for review purposes—I can’t wait for readers to experience this delightful story

I couldnt get into this one..
I know crazy, i’m just as shocked as everyone else who reads this. I was so excited for it. I know plenty of people who loved it, i wish i was one of them

Elena Armas is continuing her Green Oak series with The Fiance Dilemma, where a big misunderstanding leads to any entire fake engagement which of course leads to very real feelings.
I enjoy that Elena’s books always have humor and outside the box characters/plot lines. She adds in fun elements amidst the emotions and romance. I always love a fake relationship and seeing the couples “pretending” reveal or turn into genuine feelings. Matthew and Josie were very cute together and I loved their development individually as well.
Overall, it was a cute, fun read with some individual character development, funny moments and family drama sprinkled in. Although I will add that I do struggle to get hooked by story lines from this author and it can sometimes feel like all the books are similar, so I would like to see more variety/changes with her next one(s)!

This one took me about a quarter of the way yo get fully invested. It seems for me that I love the first in the series by this author, but the second in the series takes some warming up to get into it. I love the town and the side characters, but I didn't feel a big connection between these characters. The whole story felt disconnected and like there were scenes thrown together without a good flow or transition. Ultimately, I liked the spice and that there was not a third act breakup and how Matthew really stood up for her and was on her side. The beginning felt longer than it needed to be, like there was a lot of reiterating that wasn't necessary. In the end, I did enjoy the story, though I felt like it could be smoother.

I loved the Spanish Love Deception and the second (standalone) didn't disappoint! Sweet, spicy, and funny! Such a fun ride.

I enjoyed the book as I have other Elena Armas books, but definitely not as much. I found the fake engagement situation and the main characters frustrating.

A personal DNF but still a nice addition for fans of Armas’ work! The fun premise is sure to delight.

A new take on "The Runaway Bride." Josie has tried to get married four times. FOUR. She hasn't quite gotten through the whole wedding thing. But when her well-known father's publicist shows up unannounced at her doorstep and a sort of stranger happens by, she invents an engagement. OH MY! Turns out she does know the guy. Matthew goes along with the farce for reasons of his own. They both get caught up in the whirlwind of the planning and the faking that eventually they're not faking it anymore. This slow burn, fake relationship, sister's best friend (Sister's book is The Long Game) was a great read with a lot of laugh out loud moments. While it is book 2 in a series, it is a complete standalone. I didn't read book one, but could easily follow the story since the author gives you enough info to not be confused.

A Super fun rom com. I really like this little soccer world Armas is building. I hope we continue with the characters in this universe! (I'd like to move to Green Oak, North Carolina.)
Thanks NetGalley for the ARC!

Loved this book! I always love her romance and I never want to put the book down. Great characters and great romance!

Fake engagement, second chance, rom com that is a nice easy read. Not my fav book of the year, but enjoyable and cute

While this book was a fun read, it was sooooo slow. While I'm all about a slow burn, this was TOO slow. Like, halfway through I wanted to just quit reading because I didn't care anymore.
I'm glad I stuck it out, but be prepared.
We met Josie in the first of the series so I was excited to learn more about her. While we did, I still wanted more. Not to give too much away, but I wanted to know why 3 and 4 left or why she left them. I feel like that wasn't wrapped up really well and wasn't really clear. Like, are her commitment issues resolved? Will they be with Matthew?
Josie was quirky, but a little TOO quirky, if there is a such a thing?! And a people pleaser that I wanted to shake and say GIRL, stop!
Matthew. LOVED him.
Thank you to NetGalley and Atria books for letting me read this ARC in exchange for my honest review!

Another cute romcom from Elena Armas! This was a fun extension of the Green Oak universe. My favorite will always be the Spanish Love deception but Armas always writes the best banter while also incorporating complex family issues. I always recommend Elena Armas books to my friends!

Maybe elena books are just not for me, but I find them very overly drawn out and long that it becomes a slog to get through. While the romance was sweet, it took too long to get interesting and for me, I just didn’t find that it was worth the time investment.

DNF- This book was not for me. I think i don’t love the way Elena writes. I really wish i did but her books never draw me in and this was unfortunately not the exception. I loved the premise but unfortunately just was not for me.

I loved Elena Armas first two books but have not been able to get into any of her books in this series. Im not sure what it was that I could not connect with but I didn't find the characters or their connection enticing. That being said still very interested to read what this author does next

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for this advanced copy. Because of the delay with my review i actually purchased the finished copy at Barnes and Nobel. I liked this one a bit less than The Long Shot. Buf it was a still a good book. You would tell that they had feelings first one another before they ever realized or admitted them. It was a fun story of“does/doesnt know what I’m thinking/feeling. It was silly at times Jo’s they’d miss

The Fiance Dilemma is book two in Armas' Green Oak series. While the first book, The Long Game, was a five star read for me, The Fiance Dilemma was not as big of a hit. However, I could see this one loved by others, especially for those who enjoy a slow burn! I received an advanced reading copy, receipt of which did not impact my review.
