A series that started out very promising in Fortune's Pawn ends on a flat note in the last book in this series. The best thing about these books continues to be the characterization of the main character and some elements of the plot, although I have to draw the line at "eugenics is cool, actually". Immersive read, but doesn't hold up to scrutiny.

Overall, another fun read from Bach (whose novels are always fun). I'm certainly looking forward to reading more by the author. As with the Fortune's Pawn, I would have liked a little bit more depth, but there's no denying that the book was a fun read with interesting characters.
