Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher. I like the stories. I never get tired of reading real ghost stories, even if I don't believe.
This was a really engaging book full of tales of the supernatural, ranging from confusing to hair-raising. It had me checking under my bed and double-checking my locks.
I absolutely love a good ghost story, and this book fits perfectly. The tie-in with a podcast was interesting. I do think the story style would be better in the podcast. The stories were spooky and a fun spot season read.
A solid book of scary stories! I think this would be a great read (or listen) during spooky season. I imagine that the podcast version is much better. Some stories actually spooked me enough to mainly read in the AM only!
First, thank you to the publisher for an advanced copy in exchange for a review.
What a fun book! I had heard of Jim Harold's podcast, but I had no idea that he had books as well. I love reading these types of true short creepy stories and it was fun to find an entire book with them! Some a certainly better than others but that is what makes it fun. I will definitely look into picking up some of the earlier editions of this series and I had a super fun time reading them!
This is a fantastic set of ghost stories! My favorites are The Final Visitor, The Creepy Crawly Thing, Shadow People Don't Scare Me, Ouija Possession, Say Cheese, I Curse You, Caught You and The Faceless Entity. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys ghost stories. Special Thank You to Jim Harold and NetGalley for allowing me to read a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.
Really enjoyed it. I wish it was longer! I appreciate the range of experiences covered. I absolutely loved how each story was left untouched, exactly the way the person told it. My favourites were The Soft Serve Man and It Wasn't Reindeer On The Roof 👽🛸
**First let me start off by saying thank you so much to Netgalley and the publisher for sending an ARC my way!
I really enjoyed this collection of stories. I thoroughly enjoyed the variety of tales, some were so spooky and some tugged at my heart strings. The formatting of the ARC was a little odd but after the first few stories I was able to ignore it, it most certainly did not interfere with the enjoyability of the collection. This is the first collection of stories I have read by this author but it will absolutely not be the last!
This was a fun compilation of ghost stories from all over. I enjoyed it enough that I would check out the other books in the series as well as the author's podcast.
Thank you to NetGalley and Jim Harold Media for providing and ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion and review.
Well Compiled..
A worthy addition to this existing series (Jim Harold’s Campfire) which can be read and dipped into in any order whatsoever- and a further sixty five tales of the paranormal. A mixed bag of tales, well compiled and edited. Read with the lights on!
Nice selection of spooky stories. First read with this author and I'll be reading more. Thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book
Definitely should not have finished this book before bedtime! fantastic addition to the series. I am a very big fan of Jim Harold work including his podcast, I enjoyed how fast paced the stories felt and all the weird and wonderful tales. -Thank you to the author, publisher and netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Ghost stories always take me back my childhood. My mother was one of eight children, and every summer the siblings on their families would converge at a campground for the entire Summer. On the weekends, the men would come back from their jobs, and everyone would gather around the fire in the evenings for coffee, cake, s’mores and ghost stories.
Why my uncle Tommy, the master storyteller, there’s no longer with us, I always feel close to him reading a good ghost story two. This book delivered and I had quite nice time remembering my uncle while reading some great stories.
Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me to read an ARC of this book. This is a book of short stories about encounters with ghosts. Some were spookier than others and I found it entertaining. I liked that the stories were shorter so it's easy to find a good stopping point. I suggested to my teenage daughter that she read it; it seems right up her alley.
Creepiness at its finest. Everyone loves a good ghost story. This book is filled with all the scary stories you love but these happen to be true. This book was a fun, creepy read.
I received a free copy of, True Ghost Stories, by Jim Harold, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This book has 65 ghost stories in it. All different kinds, spooky and scary, a good read.
Rating: 3.5
This is a good collection of short horror stories and I enjoyed reading a few of them every night before bed. I love the podcast, so I'm very familiar with the type of stories. Highly recommended for people who enjoy horror and want to have something to read from time to time without committing to a big book. #TrueGhostStories #NetGalley
I've enjoyed Jim Harold's Campfire podcast ever since I began listening a few years back. The show's compilation, featuring everything from mildly eerie to truly spine-chilling tales, is captivating. Whether you're a skeptic or a believer, these stories are perfect for those moments when you want to sit down and immerse yourself in the creepy. It's an ideal book to have on hand for Halloween, or to bring along on a camping trip for storytelling around the fire. And in Jim's own words... Stay Spooky!
Thank you Netgalley for allowing me to read and review this book. These opinions are completely my own.
I'm a person who can watch horror movies and not get scared but for some reason scary books terrify me. This was a daytime book, it made leaving my room to go to the washroom too difficult at night. I will be picking up the first 5.
Book #6 in the True Ghost Stories series. Each book is a collection of short stories from Jim Harold's popular podcasts so can be read as a stand alone. One warning.....these books are addictive......once you read one, you'll want them all. Harold's books are the grown up versions of the GooseBumps books so many of us read when younger. As in any collection, I loved some of the stories more than others but it did not stop me from sharing with my reading circle who all agree......this is a 5 star series. Easily read and shared so you'll be prepared for the next bout of campfire tales.
