I loved Romancing the Grump is an absolute 5-star for me I think if anyone is looking for Something about a grump in fiction that draws you in for the ride, the moment when their tough wall starts to crumble at the expense of someone charming, this is the perfect read. #RomancingtheGrump #NetGalley

I really enjoyed how the grumpy x sunshine trope was displayed throughout the book. I felt like their personalities just fit that persona so well. I am a sucker for a Dual POV, seeing how they both felt but from their own words. Summer is pretty in touch with her emotions , not afraid to mix logic and love . While Nathan has a lot of stored emotions that he has shoved down.

There wasnโ€™t really any spice , maybe just a little sizzle. The fake dating emotions just kept building and building, between Nathanโ€™s teammates and Summerโ€™s sister Lucy they had so many people cheering them on.

"Romancing the Grump" by Jenny Proctor is a delightful and heartwarming romance that beautifully balances humor and emotional depth. The characters are richly developed, with the grumpy yet endearing Nathan Sanders stealing the show. The witty dialogue between Nathan and Summer, and between the Appies players, kept me hooked from start to finish. Proctor's writing style is both charming and relatable, making it easy to get lost in the story. This book is a fantastic read for anyone looking for a feel-good romance. Highly recommended!

I thought this book was just good. There was a lot of swoony moments that Summer and Nathan shared that I adored. I really liked the brotherhood within the Appies, it gave off found family vibes. They made Summer feel so welcomed and shipped the grump x sunshine pair from the start. Summer and Nathanโ€™s chemistry was undeniable but the only time I truly felt their chemistry was when they kissed, thatโ€™s it.

With that being said, I found it hard to feel much throughout the story. While reading, I saw their attraction for each other but I donโ€™t feel it if that makes sense. Also, for a good portion of the book, I sensed a bit of repetition in both perspectives when trying to avoid their attraction to one another. A lot of โ€œwhysโ€ were being asked and it got kind of annoying to read, but I guess thatโ€™s kind of the point of slow burns.

Thank you so much Jenny Porter, Netgalley, and JPC Publishing for the arc in exchange for an honest review.

I have read first two books in the series too, so it was nice to go back with the same characters.
I loved to book itself! I was sick when I read it (just bc I didnโ€™t have any better things to do) and I was so jealous about the scene where Summer takes care of Nathan ๐Ÿ˜†

So over all, 5/5.

In this hockey romance grumpy, silent Nathan falls in love. I loved the story, very sweet, very slow burn, and interesting. With Summer, they make a wonderful story and later couple.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgalley

First hockey romance, and I am in love. I don't even like hockey, but this book had me hooked. The grumpy-sunshine was perfect. Their relationship felt so real, and I connected immediately to the characters. This book me want to read everything else this author has written. The only thing I didn't like was the fake dating trope. For multiple couples in this friend group to be the product of fake dating was pretty excessive, but it felt perfect in this situation.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book!

Love the Grumpy vs sunshine, the fake dating tropes and friends to lovers. This book has a little something for everyone. Witty writing has you invested from the beginning.

I have been very into hockey romances lately and this one did not disappoint.

There's just something about romances between a miserable grumpy type and a happy sunshine personality. That's certainly the case in this fun romance. Nathan is a semi-famous hockey player. He can't help but be interested in Summer, but a relationship is the last thing that he wants. Even though Summer knows how he feels, they can't seem to resist one another. When they find themselves in a fake relationship, it's clear that it won't be long until there's more between them.
Nathan might be grumpy, but he's a real sweetheart and he and Summer make a great couple. I loved watching their relationship unfold and grow.
This was a really sweet romance with a great couple and one that I really enjoyed. I'd be keen to read more of the Appies and by Jenny Proctor.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own and given voluntarily.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this eARC of 'Romancing the Grump' by Jenny Proctor.

This is Jenny Proctor's second installment in the Appies series - which is written in tandem with Emma St. Clair. I did enjoy Jenny's first installment and overall I enjoy her writing as a romance author. There's enough sport for you to classify it as a sporty romance but not too much that you get an overwhelming headache of terms.
This book was fab to read and the characters were just worth it.

I think Nathan is my favorite Appie. Omgosh. Heโ€™s so grumpy but when Summer comes around his grumpiness goes away. I loved the way they were together. When he falls through the hotel room door. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ Warming her cold feet under him. The way he softens up to Summer and does what he can to help his family. Too many highlights. Itโ€™s safer to show what isnโ€™t highlighted. Another perfect Appies story. Canโ€™t wait for the rest of the guys to get their stories.

Summer and Nathan had such great chemistry, in my opinion. It had just the right amount of tension and was really beautifully written. These characters fit the storylines perfectly. Despite being a clean romance, nothing seemed missing in my opinion. Their chats were honest and they had a genuine chemistry. Every character had enough depth to keep the plot developing and the plot going forward. The supporting cast members were also enjoyable. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author! Highly Recommend!!

I absolutely loved this sweet hockey romcom, Romancing the Grump.
The story of Nathan and Summer is swoon-worthy. Whatโ€™s better than a hot, grumpy defenseman that doesnโ€™t believe in relationships, and a team lawyer who becomes his fake girlfriend for social media? Only the fact that he falls and falls HARD.

I devoured this book - it was that yummy.

๐Ÿ’Œ REVIEW:: Nathan and Summer have the cutest love story!๐Ÿฉต Nathan is a hockey player and Summer is their new lawyer. The forced proximity was on point๐ŸคŒ

Nathan is such a giant teddy bear - grumpy on the outside but a massive softie on the inside. Everyone expects him to have his life figured out as the son of an ex-hockey star but he too, like anyone else, has his own struggles. He's a massive grump and has this whole "i don't date" energy but the moment heaus eyes on Summer, all his defences come down one by one.
Summer is the new lawyer for the Appies team (Nathan plays for this team) and she's the only person who can make Nathan grin (slightly). She loves sparring with him and poking his buttons and even though Nathan tries his best to remain stoic, he secretly loves it.

This book was such a cute read. I think it's a little too fast paced but maybe that's because i haven't read the other books in the series yet. It's part of a series but can be read as a standalone too. All their banter with each other and cute scene among the other teammates was so fun to read about! Found family trope๐Ÿคง๐Ÿฉต Despite being fast paced, i absolutely enjoyed reading it because that helped me manage reading along with my personal life. Absolutely love the writing style of the author and I'll definitely come back to read about the other characters in the series ๐Ÿคญโœจ

When I read a rom-com I try to do my research to make sure that it won't be too raunchy, so when a trusted friend told me I would LOVE Jenny Proctor's books I took a chance and requested an ARC of her new book. And hurray!! I was not disappointed. This was such a fun book! This was a fake relationships trope done perfectly. This was my first hockey rom-com and I was not disappointed. Hockey is definitely only a side character. The characters are fleshed out enough to feel real and in this case they are all likeable too (not that that is a requirement in a well-written character:) And as promised, not dirty--I can't wait to read more Jenny Proctor book!

Thank you netgalley.
I really enjoyed the story. As I am a sucker for hockey romances this story was very cute. She really falls hard for him and eventually he starts to crack. The lines between fake and real start to blur.

The only aspect I didnโ€™t like was that the grumpiness didnโ€™t stand out as much as I wished it to. It felt more like a friends-to-lovers bc he just acted like the average hockey player.

โžก๏ธDefinitely will pick up the other books in this series.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story. Summer's unconditional love for Nathan, and her willingness to give her all to him, even if it meant risking a broken heart, was heartwarming. Witnessing Nathan's struggle to come to terms with what he once thought was impossible, and his eventual acceptance of the truth, was truly rewarding. The side characters were well-developed, and the humorous banter between the boys was a delight. I am eager to read more stories set in this world.

This is the fourth instalment of the Appies hockey team romance series. I have not read the other books so they can definitely be read standalone.

Summer Callahan is starting a new job as the counsel for the Appies hockey team, an NHL affiliate that has increased in popularity thanks to some great social media campaigns. Summer knows nothing about hockey but is excited for a new start after leaving her old job and old boss behind.

Nathan Sanders is the enforcer left defender known for his grumpiness and overall lack of emotion. Heโ€™s a great hockey player and teammate but has no interest in relationships outside of his family and hockey brothers.

Summer met Nathan a few months before starting her job and expressed interest in dating him, but he shut her down immediately. When they meet at Appies head office Nathan is grumpy and broody as usual and Summer gets the message.

After one of the social media campaigns gets out of hand and women turn the Appies hashtag into something sexual aimed at Nathan, the social media director needs to pump the brakes and get the socials back to family friendly.

Summer and Nathan start a fake dating relationship to prove to the fans that Nathan is already taken. Summer knows Nathan isnโ€™t interested. Heโ€™s made that clear but what happens if she falls in love with her fake boyfriend? And what happens when fake starts feeling real for both of them and Nathan is forced to face the reasons he never wanted a relationship in the first place.

This book was great! I loved Summer and Nathanโ€™s story and their connection was amazing! Nothings better than taming the broody hockey player! This is a 4 star read for me and Iโ€™m definitely going back to read the other books in the series!
