This book was so not what I ever could have expected but I loved every minute! A medical romance with a generous serving of suspense and dramaaaa!
Tiffany Hart is a resident charged with bringing Ethan Clark under her wing as a new resident transfer from another hospital. She’s fought tooth and nail to get to her position and continues to live in survival mode to earn her place at the table thus keeping everyone (except her cat) at arms length to keep her rep in pristine condition. Despite her initial brusqueness, Ethan is charmed by Tiffany and proves himself up for the challenge to melt the proclaimed “ice queen’s” heart while they work together.
Things I liked:
— Paging Dr. Hart truly feels like watching an episode of a medical drama! There’s romance, drama, suspense, high stakes! I felt like I inhaled the entirety of this book in the two sittings it took me to read it
— Tiffany’s layered backstory. While I wish the dual timelines had been a little more evenly spread out for equal intrigue between the narratives, I felt so pulled into Tiffany’s early years. Her childhood friendship, meaningful relationship with her elderly neighbor and the life she led to care for her sick mom made Tiffany a very beautifully written complex character addition to the romance genre
— The suspense elements! My nails are actually gone haha! The pacing was so good and kept me locked in for every chapter. The masquerade ball scene was so unexpected but absolutely delicious because I am a sucker for a masked ball trope!
— Romantic moments. Tiffany and Ethan have a lot of very sweet moments throughout this book. The shared apartment in Cleveland, writing notes on napkins, their spontaneous trip to Disney World…so many intentional moments between the two that made their characters so easy to love!
I definitely had questions about some loose ends after finishing so I’m glad to have seen the author’s note that this world is going to continue on! Will very eagerly be awaiting a next installment 🤲🏻
I enjoyed the slow burn and enemies to lovers between Ethan and Tiffany. I did like the integration of Tiffany’s backstory woven into the book between scenes and it definitely took the book into a different direction than I thought it would. This book had elements that I mostly enjoyed but felt like it was missing something.
I enjoyed this story! This was a dual timeline, flashing back to Tiffany's past. Tiffany had a hard past. Her mom was a single mom who worked hard to keep all the bills paid. When she is a teenager, her mom is diagnosed with cancer and the medical bills were piling up. She made some not so great choices while trying to help her mom pay the bills. But now, she's a 3rd year radiologist doing a job she loves. She's determined to put her past behind her. The dual timeline made it easy to understand all the pain and struggling she went through growing up.
Ethan transfers to her hospital to do a radiology residency and they instantly start off on the wrong foot. But after being assigned to a work project together, things start to change. Can Ethan break down her walls and get past her icy exterior?
This book was definitely a slowwww burn. People call Tiffany an ice queen but Ethan saw past that. He slowly broke down her walls and I thought it was beautifully done. He was perfect for her and just what she needed. They were a great team and complimented each other very well. I loved the suspense in it too. It kept my interest and kept me turning to page to see what was going to happen.
I enjoyed the scenes of them at Disney World! It definitely made me wish I was there.
Tropes:
Forced proximity
Single POV
Enemies to lovers
He falls first
Slow burn
This book has an open & a closed door version depending on your preferences, which I love. I also love that 10% of the sales for this book will be donated to cancer research. This one releases June 17, 2024. Thank you NetGalley and Victory Editing for this ARC. This is my honest review.

4.5 ✨ Really fun story where past meets present and boys fall first/harder. I have read her other book and really enjoyed that one, so I knew I would probably like this one and I wasn’t disappointed.
LOVE that the author offers 2 different versions of each book for those who want closed door romance or not.
Characters were easy to like, found myself wanting to know what would happen, and read it in one afternoon. 1 perspective, dual timeline, and 2 bonus chapters you can access!
The only thing keeping this from 5 stars is just how crazy the premise is, which I get it, it’s fiction, it’s a book, it’s not real. I just couldn’t really believe all that was happening for the big conflict and that made me love it just a little less. Still would recommend the book though!
Engaging start to a new series. Do take note of the two versions. The one I was reading was the spicy one. I much prefer clean/closed door, so I skipped the intimate details. I have to admit that the cover led me to believe I was going to read a rom-com. Interesting backgrounds for the couple. Quite diverse, but both had issues. I do look forward to reading the next one. There is a cliffhanger, but the story is okay as a standalone. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley. My review is voluntary.
A charming rom-com. This book surprised me. I had low expectations, but found it enjoyable to read. The moments the main characters share are overall very sweet.
Thank you to NetGalley and Victory Editing for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
As always, when I get an ARC from an author I have never read anything else by, I go in with low expectations. I was pleasantly surprised with Paging Dr Hart... it was a cute novel that told the tale of the main character, Dr "Tiffy" Hart, from two sides, past x present & romance x mystery.
For fans of: medical dramas, slow burns, forced proximity, grumpy x sunshine.
The GOODS!!:
+Mr Chen 10/10 character. His scenes made my heart swell a little extra every time.
+the potential! lots of potential to flesh out these characters and their friends into its own series/world
+dual pov/timeline kept things interesting
My cons:
-sometimes the back and forth between timelines did not completely flow and made the dialogue a little awkward
-I almost wish it was heavier on the rom OR mystery - not equal parts both!
Thank you Melissa & NetGalley for letting me enjoy this early!
Knowing that the author is a radiologist makes this book even more real!
I devoured this book in three days MAX. It has 74 chapters but the chapters are so short and very easy to read. The plot was plotting and I honestly loved every second of it!
I read Holiday Star as an ARC too and o really liked it, but this book has more soul and more heart and it just makes me feel like Melissa took her time with this one and I’m so happy she did because it moved me!
It had me all up in my feels; I was frustrated and sad but happy and reflective and touched but amused and scared but understood and thrilled and tense..
It’s about two doctors continuing their journey in radiology but they’re both running from something or dealing with something from the past. Ethan is trying to outrun the image of his family by creating his own in his own unique way without relying on anyone but himself. Tiffany is running away from emotions like guilt and shame and disappointment and sadness by building her own future independently while struggling to figure out the shadow that keeps following her around
I really liked that it was a slow burn and Tiffany took her time to trust and open up to Ethan even though she knew she liked him. Even Ethan, knowing she wanted to be sure of everything, he was still relentless and committed to make her, his. He’s very detail oriented, adoring and caring
If I could wrap up this book in one sentence it would be: what goes around comes around..🥵
Decent book, not exactly steamy or that believable. Was a fun read! Might have interesting sequels. The romance was 2/5 stars and the suspense was about 1.5/5 stars. The title alluded to more character development and suspense, but it kind of fell flat once the storyline unraveled.
4.5 ⭐️ - Reverse grumpy-sunshine, forced proximity, & the main character slow burn is my kind of novel ✅
Tiffany’s story is told in 3 main interconnecting segments (with a dual alternating POV between past and present):
1) Her Las Vegas past 💰
2) Her residency 🏥
3) Her romance with Ethan🌶️ 🔥
Every single aspect of this had me wanting more and I didn’t want to put it down. This medical romance paired perfectly with its suspense parts, and was also so different than anything I’ve read (in the best way!).
Tiffany’s upbringing in Las Vegas was heartbreaking. Brought up in a low-income, single parent household in a rough end of town, her mom has cancer and Tiffany needs to find a way to pay the medical bills. Her and best friend Shelly (who faces the same upbringing but with ulterior motives for money) decide to dress in skimpy outfits on the strip to attract tourists and sell pictures of themselves for money. The ultimate heist (involving Tiffany’s then bad boy crush Rafe) include breaking into the safe at the Luxor casino and a showdown with mob boss Johnny.
Presently, Tiffany is a medical resident just trying to keep her head down and keep to herself, a seemingly quiet “Ice Queen” whose mysterious past creeps its way back into her life. In comes Ethan (aka Dr Clark) who is bound and determined to bust her walls down (and boy does he EVER).
Both of Tiffany’s past and present lives ultimately end up colliding, putting her morals to the test, with prince Ethan coming to save the day (at points my heart was equally pounding and swooning). In the midst of their romance, Tiffany has a big decision to make involving her past and her future. Ethan will do anything for Tiffany, even it means risking his life.
Paging Dr. Hart is quite a unique romance and it blew my expectations out of the water. The plot, characters, storyline, and steaminess were all so well done. I loved Tiffany and Ethan’s story so much!

I'd like to thank NetGalley for providing me with this ARC.
While I enjoyed this book and thought it was a fun and extremely easy read, it wasn't really what I expected. I went into this book expecting much more from Tiffany's past to come in between her and Ethan, and far more suspense and stakes to be following Tiffany into her adult life. While Ethan is one of the most understanding and supportive love interests I might have ever read, their romance felt almost too easy to me, not necessarily "slow burn". The slight cliff hanger at the end of the book did catch my interest, so I am excited to revisit these characters in the future!
This was a fun romance with a bit of a small mystery thrown it. It was very enjoyable. Though I felt at time the flashback sections dragged a bit.
Drop everything now! Go read this book!!!
Honestly when this book popped up on my fyp I really wanted to read it. The bummer was that it wasn’t released yet :( I figured that I’d go try my luck and request on NetGalley, even though my requests don’t get accepted there often😂😂😂 So imagine my surprise when my request was approved!
This book was literally everything!! It made me laugh, cry, and everything in between!!! I honestly was on the edge of my seat the whole time, and I literally binged the whole book in one sitting.
This book also had small Taylor Swift references sprinkled all throughout the book which I thought was so cool!!!
Thank you Victory Editing Co-op, and NetGalley for accepting my request to read this book!
Thank you to the publisher for giving me an ARC for Paging Dr. Heart. This Romance/Mystery has many different layers. The story fluxuates between the present and past of Dr. Tiffany Hart. She has learned that she can rely on no one, and it's starting to wear her down. Which is when Dr. Ethan Clark enters her life. He's the newest resident, but he quickly becomes so much more than a college for Tiffany.
As the story unfolds in the present, Tiffany's past and why she's so reluctant to trust is slowly reviled by the author. Ethan Clark is everything she's never had.. Can Tiffany learns to try and trust again? Will Ethan stay when he learns what haunts her at night? Just as she starts to believe she can have everything, her past comes crashing back into her life. Will her past haunt her forever or can she put it to rest. The author sets you up for a wild ride as her story unfolds in this enemy's to lovers, slow burn.
Ethan is the ultimate green flag of book boyfriends. The way he cares about Tiffany and their relationship building and development was amazing. The story line of growing up in situations that you can’t control to making it out of them and becoming something for yourself was so well written. I love the banter, the spice, the plots, the storyline. It was all so good. Kept me engaged throughout the whole book.
A little too chiché! Very predictable but still cute! I would rate it 3 stars or so! The back and forth POVS were a little random as well
4.25 ⭐
First I want to thank the author Melissa Dymond and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this arc! This author is so sweet and so present, she made this book experience 100 times better!
In this book we have the chance to get to know the story of Dr. Tiffany Hart from 2 perspectives: the past and the present. The way the author intertwined these two time frames was so well made!
I got so caught up in this book I literally couldn't put it down until I finished it!
The love story between Tiffy (as he calls her) and Ethan was so adorable! A small type of slow burn (which I loved) made their connection unbreakable and desirable! Now I want a guy like Ethan in my life!
I'm excited to read other books by this author!
3.5⭐️
First time reading a Melissa Dymond book, I enjoyed the book, I thought there would be alot more spice in it. I really liked Rafe and Ethan's character's - I enjoyed their different elements and how Tiffany reacted to each.
I would love a Rafe story...
would like to thank netgalley and the publisher for letting me read this exciting book
Dr. Tiffany Hart has finally made it, she has escaped her past..... she is where she wants to be... a doctor doing the job she always wanted....
her younger years are memories she doesnt want to reflect on.... she suffers badly from nightmares but she is like a phoenix that has risen from the ashes
the only fly in the ointment is Dr. Ethan Clark, he has upended her safe life in ways beyond her control.....
an interesting read that keeps you gripped right to the end.... and a visit to vegas what more can a girl ask for....
Thank you NetGalley for giving me an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
This was my first book by this author, and I'm happy to say I can't wait to read more by her. The end of this book mentions she will write some interwoven stand-alone novels that will go with this one, and I will eagerly (and will try to be patient) await their release.
Told in alternating timelines of past and present, Tiffany is a radiology resident at a hospital in Ohio when her usually calm routine is interrupted by the arrival of a new resident, Ethan, who was midway through an internal medicine residency at another Ohio hospital. They go through some challenges of starting a residency program for Radiologists at his former hospital, and even attend a Radiology conference together in Disney World.
This book has some of my favorite tropes: he falls first, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, slow burn.
But I wasn't expecting this book to have suspense/thriller like moments. The past timeline chapters are where the suspense is. I don't want to give away any spoilers, but the innocent, hardworking doctor definitely had a troubled upbringing that no one knows about except her, and she does a great job of hiding it, and doesn't want anyone to know about it. But when her constant nightmare keep Ethan up every night when they're sharing a run-down apartment together for one month, eventually she'll have to tell him. Right?
And did I mention that the Radiology convention takes place at Disney World? As a huge Disney fan, I really enjoyed reading these chapters. I could picture every location they were at, and makes me miss Disney World and how I want to go back so badly!
As a radiologic technologist, I always enjoy any novel that has doctors or hospital or medical personnel in them as characters. But I do have some errors that I found in this particular area.
The first one being the use of the term x-ray technicians. As a registered Radiologic Technologist through the ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists), this bothered me. An x-ray technician is someone who worked on the x-ray equipment, and is similar to an engineer. An x-ray technologist is the person who takes x-ray and images of patients, has extensive knowledge of the x-ray equipment and how it operates, sets techniques and moves the equipment to create a quality diagnostic image for the radiologist to read and interpret. We are often called x-ray techs, which is fine, but we are not technicians. We are technologists.
Second, the use of the term CAT scan. The current term is CT. CAT stands for Computed Axial Tomography and CT is Computer Tomography. They are the exact same scan, but CAT was the original abbreviation and CT is the more common term today. CT's originally could only scan in the axial plane, but the technology has advanced to where we can create scans on the sagittal and coronal planes. Thus called it CT.
Rant over :)
Great book. Definitely worth a read.
