A fun, spicy, medical romance read! I love how there are two different versions of this book for different people's preferences of spicy or sweet/closed door. Great summer poolside read (on the kindle) - Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for my electronic advanced readers copy!
3 stars
The medical aspects of this book were cool, but the rest of it was just alright for me. Tiffany and Ethan didn’t do much for me in terms of main characters and the suspense was really only in the last little chunk of the book.
Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest and voluntary review.

This was my first medical-themed romance, and honestly I don’t know how I’m going to top it. Seriously, I’m going on a binge now.
This story follows Tiffany Hart who is a radiology resident, and Ethan Clark, the hospital’s newest transfer. Tiffany is tasked with showing him the ropes of radiology, but can’t get past her dislike for Ethan, who seems to try his best to annoy her at all hours of the day. Meanwhile, secrets long buried in Tiffany’s past threaten to reappear, and she’s desperate to keep them hidden.
THE. TENSION. Y’all the romance was romancing. Seriously, I couldn’t get enough of Ethan. He is just too cute. Seriously the GREENEST of green flags. And the mystery aspect of this was so enthralling. Until it was unraveling, I really couldn’t guess what Tiffany’s secrets were. But they added a deeper level to this already amazing romance. The portion of the book where they were working at another hospital (iykyk). I couldn’t get enough. The dialogue was so captivating, and I cannot wait to get my hands on more of Dr. Melissa Dymond’s work!
I wish I could give this book a higher rating. I really wanted to love it because I love medical stories, and the cover made it seem like a fun rivals-to-lovers romcom style book. It's on me, I should have read the blurb, but...
The two stories past and present don't mesh very well. I feel like the buildup for Tiffany's relationship with Ethan didn't get enough screen time because of all of the Las Vegas flashbacks. It really feels like the author was trying to tell two different stories and both ended up suffering because neither got enough air time.
There was also the third subplot about Tiffany's dad which was fine until the epilogue where it's just...open. Not a teaser, not something you can draw inference from, but just...open. Unfinished. Is there going to be another Dr. Hart book to wrap this up? I'm not sure.
To be honest I ended up skipping a lot of the Las Vegas flashbacks because I was bored and not invested in any of the characters from Tiffany's past. I think the whole book just suffered from having too many threads and not enough space to tie them together, and without a driving force of a main character to keep me interested, I was left feeling cheated out of a story.
This one was amazing. It's the first book I read from this author, and I absolutely adore it.
The characters are amazing. Tiffany is a survivor; the chapter that showed her past was difficult, bringing tears to my eyes and making me want to hug her. Ethan is such a cutie. He is the perfect book boyfriend, he's the biggest green flag to exist. His love and care and patience for Tiffany makes my heart feel warm.
Okay, I honestly couldn’t put down this book and I need more immediately, and it hasn’t even officially come out yet 🫣 I definitely need an Ethan— all of their moments made me want to jump up with glee, especially with all of the giggling I was doing (is it bad that I needed more spicy scenes…?) and the flashbacks were so gripping and vivid I could see it all play in my head perfectly. Love this so much, Melissa, and I can’t wait for more! Also… Fred <3
This started as a 1 star for me.... I almost gave up. But I kept going and was glad I did.
Before I begin, I need to first say that the name of this book needs to be changed. What a horrible title. This book is about her life, her past, her relationships. Paging Dr. Hart makes it sound like a cutesy hospital rom-com that you can read in one sitting. Most of the book does not take placw in hospital. Most of the time you can forget she is even a doctor.
I have never had so many mixed feelings about a book in my life. I cannot understand how this book was written by one person. There were a lot of things in need of some common sense editing. The book is split into two time periods: past and present. The past sections were amazing. So well written. Captivating. It was so realistic and so good. I felt like the author was telling true stories.
The present was not as good. It was so cheesy...

1) "I need to nail this lecture. Hopefully if I do well, it'll win the Resident of the Month Award." We are told this right after she completely botches the opening of her lecture. She had her phone out, and while we were told that she put it on silent, somehow two seconds later it started vibrating. She drops the microphone because she is so surprised by the sound of a vibrating phone. THEN she chose to check the text message while standing in front of an audience about to present. This message shocked her. Stunned her. Probibited her from thinking clearly. Then she proceeded to get on her hands and knees with her phone and get the microphone that has fallen (Did the microphone fall in a haystack? Why are you on your hands and knees?) She continued to look at her phone while on the floor... how is that going to win you an award? The rest of the book we are given the impression that she is a very respected resident, top of her game. But this first impression really started the book on a rough note. Not to mention that the text isn't even an ominous text. It's literally the Las Vegas sign. It may be confusing, but not bone chilling. It feels like the author was trying to push the "suspense" and ended up making it seem forced.
2) BOTCHED "enemies to lovers" trope. I have high expectations for a book that claims enemies to lovers. Our FMC makes our MMC out to be her mortal enemy all because SHE made a mistake on her presentation and he caught it. That's it. That's the foundation for this. The book would have been so much better if the author just let the interactions between the two be natural. Again, way too forced
3) I found it UNBEARABLE that a DOCTOR would text an uppercase U instead of the word "you" every time she says it in a text. If you are too lazy to type 3 letters, but not too lazy to capitalize the letter U every time, you're just an idiot.
4) No rom-com should be 75 chapters. This is the wrong genre.
5) What is with the random drawings?
6) We are told that for the entire MONTH that they are in Cleaveland she has a nightmare EVERY NIGHT that wakes him up. Ma'am are you telling me that you have never slept a single night through and you are a doctor responsible for peoples' lives??? Also we did not hear about nightmares until the trip with Ethan... so is it triggered by being away from home? That would make more sense. Again, editing needed.
7) Six times we are told he smells like soap... we get it.
8) No air mattress is that comfortable. Even a queen size.
9) So the resident of the MONTH award isn't awarded at the end of the MONTH??
10) Misspelled Cinderella
11) Why would Shelly's step dad leave her mom with Shelly is 16 knowing that there's only two years left until she's an adult when he stuck around for all of these years while she grew up...
12) How does a grown man grow an entire FOOT taller??
13) Ethan showing up to the hotel right after them makes absolutely no logical sense.
14) Knowing all of her past, I also don't understand the nightmares every night. It wasn't that bad... you can't tell us someone has nightmares for 21 days straight and then not deliver some serious trauma
If you are still reading this, I hope you stick through the book. It has such great potential. A good editor would make this book so much better.
Thank you so much to Dr. Melissa Dymond and NetGalley for approving me to read an advanced copy of this book (Published June 17, 2024)
I am so sad because I couldn’t finish it. The beginning of the book was a really slow start. I’m not sure if because I work in healthcare and then reading about in my free time made it hard for me to get hooked or it was because the pace of the story seems slower that I couldn’t get hooked.
From reading some of the other reviews, I think if you enjoy Greys Anatomy and you enjoy reading about doctors and the hospital setting with some fictional romance, this would be a great book. For me, it wasn’t something I could get hooked on.
This book was amazing and I devoured this book in just a few sittings! I loved the character development and how the story progressed.
Do you have authors that you just have to read whatever book they write? Dr. Melissa Dymond should be on your list! If you love a good story but don’t want as much smut, she releases in two versions!
I was lucky enough to get to read this ARC and it didn’t disappoint!! Alllll the slow build up to allllll of the spice, the story was wonderful, the back story was surprising and I just did not want to stop reading this!

I had fun! I wasn’t the biggest fan of the throwback chapters, mostly cause they took me out of the reading flow, but over all it was a great time and still a solid rom com perfect for an off day.
Fun, easy going and soft.
I absolutely loved this book! It was such a fun mix of being invested in the romance storyline but also the suspense storyline. I was fully captured and invested from beginning to end! Leaving with so many questions but SO SO excited to know that there is more to come.
I love Dr. Melissa Dymond! Her books are SO GOOD! The suspense in this book had my heart in my stomach literally. Paging Dr. Hart is about a Doctor named Tiffany Hart who is works at a hospital and she meets Dr. Ethan Clark. Ethan and Tiffany are literally two complete opposites when it comes to personalities. His personality is arrogance and her's hides a dark past but when they come together they are an inseparable pair. They both end up going to a conference together in Disney World and it is so cute! Tiffany also has a dark secret that she hides from Ethan. This book is so good with the suspense and the romance aspect. If you do not like intimate scenes I would skip those parts but other than that I loved the book!
Melissa Dymonds first book - Holiday Star - was the first time I'd ever read a festive book during the festive period and it was my FAVOURITE book that month.
Well guys, she's done it again because Paging Dr Hart was another 5⭐️ read for me. She has a way of writing that sucks you straight into the story and route for the characters.
What I love about the FMC's are they're not instantly likeable like in practically every other book - you have to look beyond their flaws and murky pasts to find the hidden gem beneath and fall in love with them. Dr Tiffany Hart is no exception, but once you delve into her secrets and get to know her, she becomes someone relatable and that you want to be friends with. Is she an Ice Queen or does she just protect her heart?
Ethan is a wonderful golden retriever MMC who is amazing at bringing Tiffany out of her shell but also adores her fiery personality.
The dual timeline was my favourite part, diving back into Tiffany's past and seeing just how hard her life has been and how far she's come. Plus a special shout out to Rafe who I definitely wanted to see more of because forgive me, but I love me a bad boy.
Now if you've ever had the misfortune of having me in your inbox after I've read a book, you'll know I'll talk to you about the book as if you didn't write it yourself 😅 but Melissa is an actual DYMOND (see what I did there). She is so much fun and honestly such a kind soul.
To further prove this, Melissa has written both a spicy version (which of course I read) but also a sweet, closed-door version for those who aren't a fan of smut with their romance and I think that's just the BEST thing. She did this with Holiday Star too which you absolutely must read.
On top of that, 10% of all proceeds from Paging Dr Hart, will be donated to lung cancer research which is something so close to my heart since I lost my precious Gma ❤️
And FINALLY because I can't stop gushing - all pre-orders of Paging Dr Hart will receive FREE swag! I've seen it, you're gonna want it 😉
Thank you for the opportunity to read this story early before publication!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! The main character, Tiffany, is relatable and love able regardless of her flaws. Ethan is lovely as well, however, maybe just a bit too good to be true. I loved the suspenseful action of the story and development of the characters, including their past.
I look forward to reading future books in this series!
This was such a wonderful book! I loved watching Tiffany come to terms with (and forgive herself for) her past, and her growth as a person was amazing. So relatable and truly representative of anyone who has felt like prior mistakes kept them from really and truly living a full life. Paging Dr. Hart was just such a good read for me!
Ethan is the biggest green flag. We all need an Ethan. I don’t even know how to explain that without spoilers so I will just say this — trust me. He is absolutely the greenest of the green flag men. The author nailed his character because he is the perfect balance for the story.
Overall I loved this book and can’t wait to read more by this author.
The cover of this book sells the romance and rompy sex scenes that are absolutely present in this book however I think it’s important to stress how interesting the suspense subplot was. It really gripped my attention and made me want to keep reading to find out what was happening in the flashback scenes and how it impacted the present tense scenes. If you love grumpy/sunshine dynamics you will love Tiffany and Ethan’s dynamic, also has some forced proximity as well.
I really enjoyed this book! The two MMCs love connection/banter was very well written. The only thing I wasn’t the biggest fan of was the flashback chapters. There was a bit too much to follow and some of it was a bit far fetched. But all in all great story and I would recommend!
Romantic Suspense isn’t usually my thing but this book sucked me in. I loved Tiffany but man did my heart break for her. She has fought for everything she has including overcome a broken past, but it has left her slightly broken on the inside. Ethan is the sweetest book boyfriend. He has very golden retriever feel. I love that he falls so fast and no matter what has Tiffany’s back. These two make me happy. I can’t wait for the next book!
10/10
Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
When I saw the cute cover I assumed this would be like any other modern romance, but within a few chapters I quickly realized I was in for a much more interesting story. Throughout this novel we follow our main character Tiffany as she completes her residency and trains the seemingly egotistical Ethan. At the same time, half of the chapters take place in Tiffany’s childhood where we are able to learn there is so much more to this story. I don’t want to go into detail here because I honestly found it to be more interesting when I didn’t know about it but I found her childhood to be equally entertaining to the romance!
The writing was incredibly enjoyable. The plot was well planned and executed (make sure to read the epilogue and author’s notes!). The character development was very well done and I can’t wait to read more by this author. My only recommendation would be a new cover as I feel the current one, cute as it is, doesn’t do the depth of the story justice.
