This was a gripping read, I thought the characters were intriguing and I'm going to keep an eye out for more from this author.

Outwardly, Paging Dr. Hart is a fun romance between two radiology residents with some forced proximity and a cinnamon roll MC. However, Dr. Tiffany Hart is much more complicated than her ice-cold demeanor leads on —told through a single POV and dual timeline the plot swaps between Dr. Tiffany Hart’s childhood and the present day. This quick read kept me entertained and hooked enough to stay up late to finish.

When Dr.Ethan Clark becomes the newest resident in her program, Tiffany is forced to bring him to speed. However, she finds his handsome face challenging impeding her goal of impressing her residency director. I always get nervous reading books about physicians but Melissa Dymond, a physician herself captured hospital life quite well. You do not need to be in medicine to follow along with this story, and I didn’t notice any particularly confusing medical jargon.

Dymond shapes Tiffany wonderfully and with great detail. Through the events of Tiffany's childhood, all her idiosyncrasies are clear, and the reader gets a clear insight into who Tiffany is. I loved the contrast to Ethan and learning their different paths to medicine. This authenticity and helped make both of these characters come to life. Their conversations are playful, and their chemistry is palpable. I read the open-door version, but there is a modified closed-door one as well.

The ending caught me off guard with a convoluted plot climax I did not see coming, and it felt rushed once things came together. I don’t want to spoil things, but the events seemed over the top, and I had trouble buying the storyline. The author describes this book as romance with suspense, which is accurate. If you liked the combination in the Knockemout series by Lucy Score, you would probably enjoy this novel as well.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it (especially to all those dreaming of workplace romance).

I went into this book thinking it would be a charming rom-com, and it far surpassed any of my expectations! The underlying tone of mystery and suspense that ran throughout the story gave it a delightful twist, and I especially enjoyed the alternating past/present POV’s that gave helped bind the story together and showed just how much Tiffany had changed over the years, and it felt as though I was growing up and feeling as she did. Ethan represented the very best of MMC’s, supporting Tiffany and being her rock, despite the ups and downs that come with their relationship.

Some tropes I thought were done really well were: reverse grumpy/ sunshine, close proximity, he fell first, and a delightful slow-burn romance.

I also really appreciate that the author chose to write two alternating books, one that was ‘spicy’ (open door romance) and one that was ‘sweet’ (closed door romance) so that everyone could feel included in reading this amazing book.
I can say for certain that I will be reading more of this series in the future!

A huge thank you to Netgalley and Melissa Dymond for an ARC in return for my honest review, which can be found on Goodreads 💕

This book was so cute one of my favorites from Melissa Dymond. I am not usually a big fan of flashbacks but I love the way that these were written. I love the way they span over multiple chapters in a row. It sounds weird but I usually have an issue because I want to know that is happening in one timeline over the other. I didn’t feel that way with this book I could not stop reading. The illustrations were the best touch. Love love love!!!

Different and tough to put down!
~~~~~~~~
Sometimes you run across a book that surprises you. I honestly wasn’t expecting too much, just another romance in a different setting.
But this author surprised me with her storytelling through alternating chapters of today and the past which culminate at the end for an exciting suspense-filled love story.
Dymond has created two amazing characters that just jump off the page. Not only from the physical descriptions but also their personalities. You can almost feel their very being through the images that she paints with her words.
The author gives us their vulnerability, their fears, their mistakes, and their regrets. But she also shares their tenacity and strength, as well as their love and kindness. Hot and spicy with some suspense too! This book truly has so much going for it.
I’ve never heard of this author before as she is a pretty new author. But I’m certainly going to continue to read her stories.
Paging Dr. Hart kept calling me back to keep on reading. I read late into the night and did not want to stop! That surely is a sign of a wonderful storyteller. I can’t wait to read more from her.
Thank you to netgalley and Dr Melissa Dymond for providing me with the ARC
I enjoyed this medical romantic suspense book. Tiffany overcame all the odds to get to where she is in her life. I loved the chapters that gave us the view into her past and seeing it from that view. Ethan is the quintessential golden retriever MMC and was the sunshine to her grumpy. Despite that he had some depth to his character as well.
The author blended the past timeline brilliantly with Tiffany’s current life and each view into her past left me wanting more. I was disappointed not to have the chapter closed on who Tiffany’s father was.
Overall of you enjoy some mystery with your romance definitely give this book a chance
ARC REVIEW
📚 Paging Dr. Hart 🎀
By - @melissadymondauthor 🎀
Genre - Romance , New Adult
Pub Date - 17th June 2024 ❣️
Ratings - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/ 5⭐️
------------------------------------------------Book Review ---------------------------------------------
📎 I would like to thank the author to give me an opportunity to be an arc reader for the book. Thank you @melissadymondauthor , @victoryeditingngc and @netgalley
📎. The book has got everything you want for a cozy read ; slow burn , one bed , enemies to lovers , grumpy X sunshine (reverse), suspense ,dual timeline, dark past, EVERYTHING!!! ALSO, there are hidden Taylor Swift song hints !! Had so much fun finding those .
📎Fav quote : The decisions of your family that were made for you , decisions that you had no control over, can be a burden . It can force you into a mold that might not fit.
📎The story starts as Dr. Tiffany starts to give a presentation , she's thinking about the resident of the month award , when a young man from the audience corrects about something related to her presentation , there goes her award in vain... Anyways the story moves forward and Dr. Ethan starts to work in the same hospital as her (he falls first and harder). They slowly get to know each other , develop feelings for each other but they don't disclose it to each other . Both of them have something from their pasts , regrets , mistakes , dark things . Ethan discloses his past regrets, to her but she doesn't.
📎Is it because she doesn't trust him ? Or is she afraid that she will be left alone again? Is it because she can't forgive herself for whatever she did ? Will he accept her the way she is ? Will they fight to be together in the end? Will they love each other even after so much of hurt ?
Hope you love the book , cuz I did too ! Happy reading 🤎
Dr. Melissa Dymond's Paging Dr. Hart is a whirlwind of romance, suspense, and medical drama. The story centers around the clashing personalities of Dr. Tiffany Hart, the 'Ice Queen,' and Dr. Ethan Clark, a charming and ambitious newcomer. Dymond expertly sets the stage for a fiery romance. Tiffany, emotionally guarded after a traumatic past, is initially resistant to Ethan's persistent charm. His unwavering determination to thaw her icy exterior creates a delightful tension that keeps the reader hooked. Their banter is sharp and witty, and their interactions are full of sizzling chemistry. The plot is fast-paced and unpredictable. The story seamlessly blends the complexities of the medical world with thrilling suspense, culminating in a heart-stopping climax that forces Tiffany and Ethan to confront their pasts and fight for their lives. While the romance is undoubtedly the heart of the story, Dymond also delves into the challenges and triumphs of the medical profession. The portrayal of the hospital setting feels authentic, and the portrayal of the characters' dedication to their patients adds an emotional depth to the narrative. Overall, this book is a fun and engaging read. The story's strong romance, compelling suspense, and well-developed characters make it a worthwhile read for fans of medical romance and thriller novels.
Thank you for the arc, I absolutely loved this book so much 🥰 all of the characters were well written even the side characters. I really enjoyed seeing the difference between past Tiffany and present Tiffany and how Ethan chipped away at her walls. The only thing I would say I wasn’t massively keen on is I would have liked Tiffany to have been reunited with her Dad and her discover who he is but never less I still would 100% recommend
“If heartbreak can kill you, then I’m going to die.”
Tiffany Hart is battle-fatigued. For years she’s fought people; pushed them away so she wouldn’t have to experience the pain of loss. She’s weary from doing everything herself and stressed at work. Just when she’s at the point of questioning whether it’s a strength or a weakness to need another person, Ethan Clark walks into her life.
Tiffany is a third-year radiology resident at Mercy Hospital. She can see the light at the end of the tunnel; only two more years left in her 10-year medical education.
Ethan Clark, Chief resident at Highview Hospital in Clevland, is in his second year of internal medicine and he’s applying for a radiology residency position at Mercy Hospital.
Their first meeting creates sparks. Not the good kind.
When they discover they need to work together it pushes both of them out of their comfort zone and into growth. Will Tiffany’s secret past be the road bump in their relationship? Will she learn the value of opening up to another person?
I loved that when push came to shove, Tiffany’s future actions were influenced by her mom’s advice to give a little of herself in order to experience love. She remembers her mom saying that love is about sacrifice and that if we truly love someone, we’ll give away parts of ourselves to keep that person happy and safe. I wasn't sure if Tiffany could offer up her past to keep Ethan safe or not. This was a great mystery and a compelling read.
Loved the exploration of:
💜Needing forgiveness; from others and from self
💜Learning to live a life of acceptance
💜the importance of finding someone who will fight for you
💜the notion that success comes from inside yourself
💜the damage we do by keeping secrets from those we love
Which is truly the braver thing? To force people away? Or to pull them close? Let Melissa Dymond’s great story give you something to consider. If nothing else, she’ll leave you on the edge of your seat as she’s planned answers to some of the bigger questions raised in this book in the books to follow.
The author has provided a list of triggers at the start of the book. She’s also published this book in two versions: sweet and spicy.
This romantic suspense is one you'll want to investigate for yourself!
This ins just excellent. The childhood years, the teenage years and the present day are all beautifully woven together for one smooth story. Enough is teased from the past to make the present that much brighter. The hospital is the perfect back drop for the romance between Tiffany and Ethan and their stories are well explained and exposed. There is enough drama to make this special, but still a few surprises that kept me hanging on till the very last line.
I enjoyed this one but I didn’t *love* as much as I expected. I had a really hard time suspending disbelief on the lack of consequences for “the event” that occurred in the past. Other little details too (like booking a plane ticket at the very last second and somehow getting a window seat despite the plane being full enough that someone was in the middle seat. No one chooses a middle when there are other options).
Ice Queen. That’s Dr. Tiffany Hart’s nickname in the hospital, but when she meets red-hot new hire Dr. Ethan Clark she loses her cool. He’s arrogant, annoying, and stupidly handsome. That’s okay. Frozen from a past filled with danger and betrayal, Tiffany is immune to charming men, even if they remember her favorite coffee and let her pick what to watch on TV.
Dr. Ethan Clark comes from a long line of famous doctors. Wanting to escape his legacy and forge his own path, he’s happy to transfer to Tiffany’s hospital. Especially when he lays eyes on the fiery redhead doctor assigned to train him. Sure, she looks like she wants to punch him most of the time, but he can’t ignore the sparks between them so he vows to thaw her icy heart.
This delight is wrapped up in all of my favorite tropes, and I loved it. Any book about hot doctors and the one-bed trope is already a winner in my book. This is a slow burner, but once it catches, things get hot fast! I'm not a big fan of dual timelines, but this was done well and I really enjoyed it. Highly recommend it!
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the advanced digital reader's copy (ARC) in exchange for an honest review!
This is the story of Dr. Tiffany Hart, who ends up interning with Ethan. She is closed off to the world, and only focused on her work. Ethan is a total puppy dog who is adored by everyone
They get off to a rocky start, but end up having to room together while in Cleveland, where they grow close.
Like most recent books, this goes between past and present. I enjoyed learning about Tiffany's past and why she is so closed off. She grows up in Las Vegas and was raised by a single mother who falls ill. The author really makes you feel for Tiffany growing up on the wrong side of the tracks. I enjoyed her relationship with her neighbor, Mr. Chen.
The last half of the book is exciting, where her past catches up with her, through an old high school crush, Rafe.
The author has two versions of the book, one with love scenes and one without if you're more comfortable with that.
You would like this book if you like rom coms with some suspense.
Es la primera vez que leo a Melissa Dymond y cuando me recomendaron su libro no dude en pedir el ARC.
El libro trata sobre Tiffany, una doctora radióloga que ha pasado por muchas cosas y a lo largo del libro veremos que es lo que la atormenta, quien le manda mensajes amenazantes y que hace que todas las noches sufra de pesadillas.
También veremos como se vuelve a enamorar de un nuevo colega.
La idea fue interesante, pero no logro atraparme y por momentos me aburrió. Siento que la intención era hacer un libro profundo, pero con tantas cosas que le paso a Tiffany pierde la intención.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of this book. I enjoyed this romance a lot. It has the typical part of girl meets boy and their is some animosity at first. I liked that it is set in a hospital because I have a healthcare background and knew many of the situations in the book. I read this on my Kindle so all the pictures were black and white. However, when I looked back I got to see the color pictures and they are amazing. I also like the flashbacks to when the main character, Tiffany, was growing up and the struggles she faced. It is amazing to see that she became a doctor by not giving up.
This book was an amazing mix of romance, and mystery, with a bit of medical jargon. The author did a good job explaining the medical terms used. As a nurse, I am familiar with the terms used in this book but I love how the author explained the terms for lay persons.
This book has a dual timeline, the main character, Tiffany, relives her past in her nightmares and we get to see her childhood growing up. This leads to the mystery of what happened when she was a teenager. All the while our resident Tiffany as an adult is learning what love is and thawing her frozen heart for a new doctor she is forced to work with. I love how this book is written. The ending was suspenseful but satisfying.
I think anyone reading this will thoroughly enjoy it, even non-medical people!
Thank you to Victory Editing, NetGalley, and Melissa Dymond and her team for the amazing opportunity to read this ARC for an honest review
Spice: 4/5, the scenes were good, I feel the sexual tension lasted FOREVER before they finally gave in to desires, which did make the scenes all the more desirable
Overview: Known as an ice queen amongst her colleagues, radiology resident Dr Tiffany Hart is forced to work together with the affable and handsome new resident Dr Ethan Clark to set up a new radiology residency program.
Thoughts: I’ll admit I had some trouble getting through the beginning of this book as Tiffany was slightly too grumpy for my taste and her interactions with Ethan felt overly antagonistic. Additionally I was thrown off by the introduction of the dual timeline, as I had trouble seeing what the flashbacks were leading to. But after getting past that, I was COMPLETELY HOOKED and was especially excited to see how the two timelines would collide (which they do, fantastically). Although I enjoyed the romance angle (which ended up being quite cute), the best part of this book is the storyline following Tiffany’s past. The characters from that timeline were so great (Mr Chen! 🥹) and now I absolutely need a follow-up book to learn more about Tiffany’s mom AND a romance centered on a certain tattooed bad boy!
Take home message: Paging Dr Hart is a grumpy/sunshine and forced proximity medical romance that is perfect for fans of Grey’s Anatomy. This single POV story also features a dual timeline (one of which includes the Vegas strip and even a masquerade ball!) that leads to a surprising amount of suspense and action. There’s also cute character artwork throughout!! A portion of the book’s proceeds will be donated to lung cancer research.
Dr. Melissa Dymond’s “Paging Dr. Hart” is a thrilling sprint through the heart of Mercy Hospital. The book pairs the icy Dr. Tiffany Hart with the warm Dr. Ethan Clark, creating sparks that could revive any flatlining love life.
In a world where every second counts, Dymond doesn’t waste a beat. The romance is sweet, the banter is lively, and the drama is as gripping as a cardiac arrest. When past and present collide, Tiffany and Ethan’s story proves that love is the best medicine.
Short and sweet, this book is the perfect remedy for a dull day, proving that sometimes, the right person can turn even the Ice Queen into a puddle of warmth.
