How do I rate this a 10/5?? This book is beautifully written and has it all with romance and suspense. A haunted past and grief. Lots of banter and sexy doctors.

I absolutely loved Ethan and Tiffany's love story. Ethan brings out all the good in Tiffany allowing her to slowly lower those walls that she has built up after everyone has left her either in death or abandoning her. Tiffany finally is able to trust and have someone close to her again, but her past is sneaking up on her quickly.

Tiffany is the Ice Queen, always focus and determined at work and finally sexy Ethan is here to melt the ice around her heart and set it ablaze. Will she be able to fully let him in or will she be too scared to show him all of her?

Mr. Chen is the sweetest side character ever. Just saying. Melissa puts so much thought into her stories that even those side characters are perfect. She shares the love story of Ethan and Tiffany, but some of their interactions are of her and her husband meeting and being together. It's beautiful I promise.

My favorite quotes:
"Why are you staring at me like I'm candy and you're a kid on Halloween?"

"I want to punch your stupid, handsome face."

Thank you Dr. Melissa Dymond and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this ARC and I would like to give an honest review as in return.

Paging Dr. Hart is not like a typical medical romance because it has a sort of mystery that hook me up.

I like how the book is written in short chapters plus the chapters that tell the story of the present and past life of Dr. Tiffany Hart which is very easy to follow and not so much of medical jargon that is hard to decipher.

Since it is a romance genre, of course they will be here and there of romance scene, however, I don't really feel comfortable with the spicy scene.

I do love both characters in this novel.

Dr. Tiffany Hart who is very passionate and determined with her ambition of becoming a successful doctor after her mum was diagnosed with lung cancer.
"I witness firsthand how important a doctor's job is, how a good doctor can spark hope even in the darkest times."

Her character was a bit cold at the beginning of the story, but, certainly, it was not her fault after she has survived from a turbulent childhood.
"I'm not used to this sensation, this strange rush of gratitude. Not used to feeling safe."

What I like the most with her is she's an avid reader too despite her busy doctor's life.
"I have a lot of boyfriends.
Book boyfriends, that is.
Much more reliable than real-life boyfriends. They're there when I need them and go away when I don't."

Honestly, I do feel sad when I read this novel at the part of she always wake up in the middle of the night due to nightmares and also when she felt uncertain about to bring her life into love relationship with Dr. Ethan. She asked herself; "Certainly, there had to be men like Mr. Chen who could be trusted. Was Ethan one of them?"

I really fall in love with Dr. Ethan Clark on how manly (in terms of character and figure described) he is in this story.
He's very considerate, patient, and loving man.
"I like my coffee how I like my women, hot and strong."

His character is very matured especially at the moment when he found out the past life of Dr. Tiffany from Rafe.
"Sometimes good people do bad things. I think the person you need forgiveness from the most isn't me. I think it's you. You need to forgive yourself."

I do read the additional chapter from the perspective of Fred The Cat and it was hilarious and cute.

Takeaway messages:
(1) Success doesn't come from a place. Success comes from inside yourself.
(2) Sometimes love is about sacrifice. Giving away parts of yourself to keep the person you care about happy and safe.

Don't let the cartoon cover fool you.

I requested for this ARC because I read Holiday Star and honestly, I love to read some doctor romance.

Dr. Tiffany Hart was assigned to train Dr. Ethan Clarke in their department. When there's an exchange program between hospitals, they were sent out to work there and in a conference later on.

I went into thinking this is fun and light-hearted. Don't get me wrong, the book is that but there's much more depth which I didn't expect. The way the story was written was good, because we alternate between past and present which made us understand why Tiffany was the way she is. We saw her history, her growth, her struggles and traumas which was so heartbreaking. I just want to reach out and hug her past self.

I love how both characters communicated throughout and how Ethan is an act-of-service guy (the guy knows her coffee order and I melted at that) because Tiffany really needed that in her life. Ethan lifts her up and complemented her so perfectly. I love reading their story.

Also, there's a little bit of a glimpse of Caleb (from Holiday Star) and wished we saw Gwen too lol.

✔️Enemies to Lovers
✔️ Reverse Grumpy Sunshine
✔️ Forced Proximity
✔️ Slow Burn

Well Dr. Dymond has done it again! I’m so grateful I was able to get an ARC copy! 🥳🎉 This book had all of my favorite things … Disney World, Greys Anatomy and Taylor Swift all wrapped up in one adorable blue package. 💙 So what I’m trying to say is she’s definitely an auto-buy author for me … she’s stuck with me now. 😉

Prior to the release the author warned this book was darker than “Holiday Star” but I still was not prepared for Dr. Tiffany Hart’s gritty and sad backstory, it’s nothing like Holiday Star but is SO good! This book has some suspense in it and left me constantly trying to guess what would happen next. (And it just kept getting better and better!) This book left me wanting to read more about Tiffany’s world like who is her dad, does Stewart get his happily ever after and absolutely anything Fred does or thinks. 🐈

The characters in this were so multi-dimensional and realistic. Have I mentioned I loved the backstory and build up yet? Throughout the novel we learn pieces of Tiffany’s backstory and fall in love with her icy character. Not to mention Ethan the protective golden retriever I absolutely swoon over in a book boyfriend. 😍 I loved both MC but honestly every character impacts the story which I loved - there’s no fillers here. I HIGHLY recommend checking this one out! 💙

“ “I think you’re perfect. Just the way you are.” His words land like pennies tossed into a fountain. Wishes coming true. 😍”

I absolutely adore this author’s writing. The first book I read from her was 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫. I devoured it in a day. Going into this second book by her I knew it was going to have some suspense, but I was blown away by how completely different the tone and feel of 𝐏𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐫. 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐭 was from 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫. The range of emotions the author is able to write and her character development is incredible.

Paging Dr. Hart is essentially two stories in one that coalesce at the ending perfectly. The dual timeline is Tiffany’s childhood vs her present life.

Tiffany is a survivor, and the chapters that showed her past had my heart in knots. Throughout the course of the book she has to learn how to open her heart again, and Ethan helps her do that.

This is a very suspenseful story and I loved it. Your mind is trying to workout who is the villain(s) and what exactly happened in her past. When everything is revealed, I couldn’t help but feel sympathy for them.

Ethan was a fantastic book boyfriend. He fits the “he falls first and harder” trope perfectly. This man only knew her for a few hours and was already defending her against men intimidated by her.

"𝘋𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘮𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘢𝘺?" 𝘐 𝘢𝘴𝘬 𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘺.

The Disneyland scenes were so freaking wholesome they gave me all the warm butterflies in my tummy.

This is a slow burn but once the spice enters the room, she comes in HOT! 🥵 (2🌶️)

There is so much potential for future stories set in this world and I truly cannot wait to see how the author develops them!

𝐏𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐫. 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐭 releases on June 17! I will 1000% be recommending this book to all of my fellow bibliophiles and will definitely need a physical copy in my little library!

Thank you @netgalley and @melissadymondauthor for this E-ARC!
I LOVED this book. Spicy, suspenseful, romance novel that will have you glued to the page! This book took you to present day Tiffy and Ethan but also became so suspenseful as we learn about Tiffys past. Her past and present chapters blended seamlessly together. Rafe’s character arc was crazy, I should have suspected that but didn’t ‼️ I laughed, I screamed NO (if you read it you would know at what part). Melissa's storytelling shines through in displaying themes of illness, loss, coping, healing, and ultimately, love! I’m ready for my bonus chapter 🐱 (hilarious). Also would love to read this again to pick up on the Taylor Swift clues!! 🕵️

Thank you Dr. Melissa Dymond and NetGalley for allowing me to read and review this ARC. (Publishing 6/17/24)

I’ve never read a medical romance before and now I think I’ve unlocked a new favorite.

This book was multi-dimensional. Not only was it a love story between Tiffany and Ethan (SWOON 😍), but it was also a suspenseful journey on how to over come your past.

After a childhood full of struggle and bad decisions, Tiffany becomes a Doctor. In adulthood, Tiffany was determined to be on her own, pushing away anybody that tries to get close in fear of losing them. In walks Ethan, the funny, handsome, charismatic Doctor that changes her life. The relationship between “Tiffy” and Ethan is the ultimate slow-burn and I ate it up.

Aside from the romance, another part of the book I loved was the suspense. Hearing all about the bad choices Tiffany made as a child kept me on my toes and reading late into the night. I also loved how her past came back to haunt her in the form of Rafe.

The Past chapters bled into the Present chapters seamlessly.

Great side characters: Rafe, Shelly, Mr. Chen, Melanie, etc..

This is definitely a book I would recommend to other readers. Looking forward to reading more from Dr. Melissa Dymond!

I read this book in two days because the suspense of knowing what happened when she was young had me hooked! I’m usually not a fan of books that change between past and present but it worked for this book! I loved the chemistry between the main characters, their banter was super cute. Ethan earned a spot on my Green Flag book boyfriend list because even though he was doing the bare minimum most of the time, I was smiling and giggling like a schoolgirl while reading the book!

✨forced proximity
💞 rivals to friends then lovers
☀️ grumpy / sunshine (fmc is the grump!)

I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to review Melissa Dymond's book, Holiday Star, so when this new book came along I jumped at the chance to read it and I'm so glad I did!

From start to finish this story was excellent, I didn't want to stop reading! Dr. Ethan Clark comes across to Dr. Tiffany Hart, as a little cocky when she learns he is a new resident that she has to train. After getting to know each other she soon realizes he isn't so bad and when he happens to be at the same conference in Orlando she attends they spend it together, spicy nights with fun filled days! Soon she realizes she has true feelings for him and he reciprocates, but while Ethan has been honest about his past, she hasn't. Life didn't come easy for Tiffany and she did some things she isn't proud of, trying to earn money to pay bills from her mom being sick. Worried she may lose Ethan she doesn't mention anything until her past comes back to haunt her.

This story is told in both current time and past. I love that the author did such a good job at telling Tiffany's childhood backstory so I could understand her fears about getting close to someone, worried she may lose them or they'd leave her. Also, I love a good story where the guy falls first and wants to protect her, loving the girl no matter what. I highly recommend this book and 10% of proceeds go to lung cancer research!

Thank you to Dr. Melissa Dymond, NetGalley, and Victory Editing for allowing me to review this ARC!

OMG, this was such a fun book to read! I love that Tiffany is such a strong FMC, overcoming obstacles from her youth to reach her dreams of being a doctor. She's unapologetically direct, often coming across as rude. The emotional scars from her past serve as a barrier to protect her heart, but Ethan is patient and willing to chip away at the "ice queen" because he knows that underneath is a heart that needs love. His love.

Having lost my dad to lung cancer 2 years ago, I am especially grateful that 10% of proceeds goes to lung cancer research! ❤️❤️

I'm particularly drawn to narratives where one of the main characters faces adversity in their past but is determined to reshape their future through education. Tiffany embodies this resilience. She's intelligent, resilient, and unwavering in her pursuit of a better life than her upbringing.

Tiffany has endured unimaginable loss, from her mother to her close friend Mr. Chen, and then the betrayal of those she thought were friends. How much grief and disappointment can one person bear? It's no wonder she keeps others at arm's length as an adult. Yet, Ethan enters her life, a steadfast protector unlike any other, bringing a ray of sunshine she desperately needs. His affectionate nickname "Tiffy" is endearing, and he becomes the beacon of support she's longed for.

As I delved into Tiffany's past through the chapters, I felt a constant sense of unease for her. Her choices were fraught with risk, and I couldn't shake the feeling that something dire loomed ahead. The tension was palpable, and the outcome was far from predictable.

With a blend of romance and suspense, as Tiffany's past resurfaces in unexpected ways, this book grips you from start to finish. The narrative seamlessly transitions between the present and Tiffany's past, offering insight into her guarded nature and reluctance to share her childhood with Ethan.

Similar to Melissa's previous work, "Holiday Star," this story transcends mere romance. It delves into themes of illness, loss, coping, healing, and ultimately, love. Melissa's storytelling prowess shines through this amalgamation of emotions, leaving a lasting impression.

The takeaway is poignant: Regardless of a challenging start in life, one can still embrace the prospect of happiness. This message resonates powerfully, reminding us that our past does not dictate our future.

Thank you to NetGalley, Dr. Dymond, and Victory Editing for this ARC! I am so excited I had the chance to read this medical romance (publishing June 17, 2024).

Tiffany and Ethan wind up working together as radiology interns. Together, they build an exchange program for residents while growing their relationship together… all while Tiffany has a past to keep quiet. The concept is great and it contained some of my favorite romance tropes (forced proximity, grumpy/sunshine vibes, enemies to lovers). I think their energy really works together and is believable throughout most of the book. Ethan was fantastic as a character and had some of the best lines, too!

Overall, I loved the way that this was written. You could tell the medical components were taken as seriously as the romance and relationship building, which was nice! As as Disney adult, I was also thrilled to see them experience the parks! The flashbacks and Tiffany’s story worked well. The ending felt a bit surprising at moments, but I don’t think it was necessarily bad! Just a little different than I anticipated.

Spice level was good - it was there and the buildup really worked! Nothing felt too over the top and it didn’t take away from the plot, added to it - if you ask me. But, I love that Dr. Dymond and Victory Editing offer a closed door romance option if anyone wants to read that instead.

This was seriously a great book and once I was in, I was hooked! I’m looking forward to reading more by Dr. Dymond!

This book was good, especially considering she’s a relatively new author. It’s fast paced and a very easy read. Short chapters. Good romance and some mystery elements that’ll hook you. I flew through this book. There was not a single spelling or grammar error that I noticed, so huge kudos on that.

I think this book would be best for someone about 18-22 which is not me. Some of the themes and the FMCs decision making just felt a little too young for me.

Chatting (and arguing) over the person in the middle seat of an airplane… stopping to hug in the middle of the walkway at Disney while noting that people need to avoid you… please have some situational awareness and respect for others. Sorry, those are just two of my biggest pet peeves in life.

I LOVE a MMC giving the FMC a cute nickname in a book. The sleeping beauty thing was cute, but Tiffy was a huge ick. She asked him multiple times to stop calling her that and he refused. I know she warmed up to it, but it still felt so disrespectful. Don’t love that.

🌶️🌶️🌶️ three pepper spice in the version I read, but you can avoid this with a spice free version the author is also releasing. That’s very thoughtful of her.

Now for some nitpicking…

1. 🏰 👑 Sleeping Beauty’s Castle is in California, not Orlando. Cinderella’s castle is in Orlando. Please change this in the epilogue 😭

2. It’s “Magic Kingdom” not “The Magic Kingdom”. I know this one is super nitpicky, sorry.

What a wild time!!! The suspense from the get go had me hooked! I could have never guessed where this story was going to go and was on the edge of my seat just waiting for the reveal!

Our FMC is completing her residency in radiology when her past threatens to haunt her, after years of trying to forget and separate herself from her nightmares what will happen when it all goes bang 🫨

Just a really refreshing story too, I thought this was just going to it’s be a cutesy romance story about two doctors but I was wrong in the best way😂🥰

I really enjoyed learning more and more about Tiffany even though I had major doubts about her for quite some time 😅😅 Ethan- the man the myth the legend, big fan of his overall. Love a bit of karate kid in the morning 😂 and he was just such a fun mmc!!

I found this book to be entertaining all the way through. I enjoyed the chemistry between Tiffany and Ethan from the moment they met. Who doesn’t love a good enemies to lovers? My favourite parts were definitely the flashbacks through Tiffany’s life. They were so well written it felt like I was there with her. I appreciated the author showing us the happy times transitioning into something else as she aged. I understood the desperation behind her actions and was rooting for her the whole time. However, I had a hard time taking her decisions in the present seriously as her mistakes were almost hyped up more than what she actually committed. The constant nightmares and years of social isolation seemed a bit extreme. I found some of the romantic interactions between her and Ethan to be a little on the cheesier side. I know they spent a month living together, but they also only knew each other for what seems like at most 2 months. I also found this novel a little too convenient at times. My last critique comes from the epilogue. I did not like the twist as it also felt too convenient and a little icky. Overall I enjoyed this novel and found it to be a quick and easy read. It read like a Hallmark movie with an edge. There was never a point I felt the story was dragging. I would definitely read more work from this author in the future.

Dr. Tiffany is known as the ice queen until she trains new hire Dr. Ethan. They are forced to share quarters and must flee her past.

An enemies-to-lovers grumpy-sunshine suspense/romance. The characters are terrific. I like the chemistry between the leads. The plot is terrific and moves along nicely. An interesting read.

Thanks to the publisher for the arc.

Author did a great job with build up as she slowly pulls away the layers of Dr Hart. I think I was as anxious as Ethan to figure out what her bad dreams were about.

Very detailed writing, with images vivid enough you’d think you were right there mingling with the characters.

I didn’t expect all the extra thrills and excitement, but I was definitely pleasantly surprised. Not your average romance.

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley, and oh my was it cute! I read it in a matter of a few hours.

The chemistry between Tiffany & Ethan was so good. The initial interaction between them was the perfect way to introduce the reverse grumpy sunshine trope. Other tropes featured in this book are forced proximity (a personal favorite of mine), he falls first, work place romance, and "good girl."

Tiffany & Ethan were so well matched. You've got Tiffany, who is solely focused on work & her cat Fred, mainlines coffee like her life depends on it, and has a secret past that causes her to push everyone way. Then you've got Ethan, who is a bit of a gold retriever, starting over in his career, comes from a well-known medical family, and who is all in from the moment he lays eyes on the red-headed firecracker that is Tiffany. And the spice was good, but not over the top. Add in the mystery of Tiffany's past and the suspense surrounding it, and you've got a story that keeps you on edge.

If their chemistry and relationship development aren't enough for you, they spend time at Disney World. As a full-blown Disney adult, my heart was happy.

This book comes out June 17th, 2024 in two versions: a spicy/open door version & a sweet/closed door version. If you're looking for a quick, romantic read, I highly recommend this book.

First thought: OMG that was Amazing! I just binged it in one sitting it’s everything a book should be. This has it all: sexy doctors, banter, great suspense, spice, Disney World, touch her and die, flashbacks for backstory and so much more. If you’re a Grey’s Anatomy fan, this is an automatic Hell Yes! Run and add to your TBR now, Melissa writes only 5⭐️ books.

Tiffany grew up the child of a single mom in Nevada and she learned at a young age how to stand up for herself. But losing her mom at age of 18 to lung cancer made her choose some not optimal life choices to survive. But she made it to the other side and now she’s in her third year of residency as a radiologist and has been invited to present at a conference in Orlando. She has no one standing between her and success or so she thought.

Ethan is transferring residency programs and is starting over in radiology, he is the sexy doctor everyone dreams of. The only problem is he’s a nice guy he brings the sun wherever he goes, and he is now working with the Ice Queen herself Tiffany. They kind of got off on the wrong foot when he ruined her chances at intern of the month, by pointing out her mistake.

Now they have been assigned to work together and sparks will fly! But you know what they say it’s a fine line between hate and love. The only issue is can Ethan melt Tiffany’s defenses or will her walls and past freeze any chance they have.

This book caught me completely off guard! If you're expecting a cliché, stereotypical, run-of-the-mill romance, you won't find it here.

Here are a few things that took me by surprise:

Firstly, the dynamic between the main characters was a refreshing twist on the typical "grumpy sunshine" trope. Usually, I find myself immediately connecting with the female protagonist and gradually warming up to the male lead.

But with Ethan, it was the opposite—I was drawn to him from the start, while it took some time for me to warm up to Tiffany and see them as the perfect couple. It was an unusual experience, especially since we only get Tiffany's perspective and not Ethan's.

Secondly, I wasn't expecting so much action and suspense in the latter half of the book. The shift in tone and pace caught me off guard, but in a thrilling way.

Thirdly, the book's opening scenes in the hospital didn't prepare me for the vibrant settings later on, like Disney and Vegas. It was a pleasant surprise that added depth to the story.

Fourthly, I anticipated some emotional drama from Tiffany's past, but I didn't expect the external conflicts that arose. The plot took unexpected turns that kept me on the edge of my seat.

Lastly, Tiffany's backstory was far more intricate and compelling than I imagined. Her flashbacks were captivating, almost like a story within a story. There were moments when I found myself more invested in her past than the present-day storyline.

Overall, this book starts as a slow burn, but once it picks up, it's impossible to put down.

I extend my thanks to Netgalley and Victory Editing Group NetGalley
