Paging Dr. Hart was definitely not what I expected! I went into this book blind because the cover intrigued me. I was hoping for a little bit of hospital drama like one of my favorite sitcoms and it delivered. We meet Tiffany Hart who seems to have it all together. She’s efficient and knowledgeable. She’s working hard to be the top resident. She doesn’t have time for friendships let alone relationships. A new resident comes in and embarrasses her from the moment they meet.

But this novel isn’t all romance… Tiffany has a darker side that she’s tried to shut away. In her past she did what she had to do. She needed to survive and do anything to help her mother. As she finally begins to build a relationship she worries that her past will scare him away. She won’t tell him… that is until her past shows up confronting her.

I enjoyed learning about Tiffany and her story. It led me to question are some bad deeds acceptable for good intentions? Good people make bad choices but it doesn’t have to define them. I loved seeing true depth to the characters and their motives. It wasn’t the typical romance novel. I loved that the main character had a back story as well as a chance as redemption. If you enjoy work place relationships, forced proximity, one bed and enemies to lovers this is your book for the summer! Paging Dr. Hart releases 7/31/24. Thank you NetGalley and Dr. Melissa Dymond for allowing me this advanced read.

I went into this book expecting Grey’s Anatomy with a main romance line, but the plot ended up a total unexpected surprise. There is a back and forth timeline between the FMC’s past (Vegas! Guns! Diamonds!) and her present life as a radiology intern.

I really enjoyed the medical side of this and it’s no surprise the author is a doctor. It was fun to slip into the world of being a resident and trust the facts would all be correct thanks to her expertise!

The past timeline and Vegas twists were really unexpected, and almost felt like they could have been a separate book. It was a lot to take in but also kept you turning the pages. And prepare yourself for a cliffhanger of sorts at the end in this realm!

The romance was great and spicy, and the MMC was definitely a McDreamy.

Note: I was a bit confused by the artwork throughout the book and some large titles (FRIENDSHIP) but assumed those would work themselves out in the final version? I just wasn’t sure if they were where they were supposed to be

3.5!
Dr. Tiffany Hart has a dark past that she’s tried hard to forget, but when she finally decides to let Ethan in, a fellow resident student, her past comes back to find her.

I really liked the idea of this book. I love me a medical drama and mystery! It was a fun and fast read. It kept me turning the pages to find out what happened in Tiffy’s past. In the book there are two timelines being told, and I liked the insight. However, I had a bit of a hard time connecting the past and present Tiffany- they almost seemed like a different person. I would’ve loved to have seen a little more character depth- but overall it was a fun read!!

Do not let the cover of this book fool you! It was seriously such a surprise to me the turn this story took and I am here for it! 🙌 If you are expecting an easy Scrubs-esque rom-com, then you are in for a surprise. Take that and mix it with a dark past, add some thrill, mystery and crime bosses and you’ll get this gem! It’s such a unique story and I love it!

This is not your average romance at all. Tiffany has a dark history back in Las Vegas where she grew up. Now a respected Radiology resident- she’s tried very hard to leave her past behind, but it’s beginning to catch up to her when she starts receiving cryptic messages from an unknown sender. Ethan is a man trying to distance himself from his family’s legacy to prove that he can be successful on his own. Together, they break down one another’s walls and find the love they never thought they deserved.

I read the spicy version, but the author has a clean version for those that prefer it that way. Let me tell you, though, while this was a Slow Slow Slowwwww Burn, when it finally caught Fire… WOW! 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️ 🥵 🥵

This is a very suspenseful story and I loved it ~ I absolutely adore this author's writing and the underlying tension(s). My mind was constantly trying to workout who the villain(s) is and what exactly happened.
Both protagonists were extremely lovable and I loved their dynamic ~ and the spice was spicy, hehe!
When everything got revealed, I gasped out loud and honestly? I can’t wait for another book from the author.

This book was nothing like I expected it to be and I absolutely loved it!!

Both main characters were very likeable and I thoroughly enjoyed the time jumps to get a better understanding of Tiffany and her past. I loved what an oooey gooey cinnamon roll Ethan was and how he really softened Tiffany’s rougher edges!

This book was a great read with the right amount of sweet, spice and suspense!

4 stars.

This story is well done - it provides romance and mystery while keeping the reader asking “where is this going?”

I feel like I accidentally learned a lot about Disney World, though.

The cover of this book is so cute and light hearted, however the book is not. I was supposed by the plot, well mildly surprised since the description says suspense. Most romance books that say they are suspense never deliver and Im usually disappointed and can guess everything that's happening. I hadn't the slightest clue with this book what was going. It was well written and kept me guessing! Can't wait to see what the author has planned next

I absolutely love this! The spice, and the dynamic of the characters are developed well and enough to keep you wanting more. The female MC is a very realistic career driven woman (if you have ever met one you know). I like how relatable she is and she is not overgeneralized. The male MC however is kinda cliche, but the author still allows him to have feelings instead of a strong "alpha* male. The flashback backs and time period switches are very clear and concise which I loved. Normally they are messy and confusing to read but in this case it was pretty good. However, I would edit out the fluff in the next one.

It took me a little while to get fully invested in this one, but it eventually sucked me in and I couldn’t put it down! It was the perfect balance of romance with suspense. It had a good balance of heartwarming moments, excitement, and heavier content (such as grief and unresolved childhood trauma). I really enjoyed the dual timeline that allowed us to learn about Tiffany’s troubled past! Admittedly, I was a bit more interested by the past timeline than the present timeline, but when the past started catching up with the present, I was captivated. The author had a really engaging writing style and the pacing was well-done! There were some twists and betrayals I didn’t see coming.

I thought the romance was sweet and the characters were flawed and relatable in some ways (Ethan with his people pleasing and fear of failure, Tiffany with her reluctance to lean on others due to being burned in the past, her desire to prove herself and make something of herself, etc.). The MCs gave off black cat and golden retriever vibes. They had good banter and chemistry! I usually enjoy a he falls first (and harder) trope; however, in this case, it felt a little too instalovey on his side which resulted in there being less tension in the slow-burn than I tend to prefer. The MMC is a total sweetheart and is literally the definition of a man written by a woman (a few cheesy romantic lines included haha, but hey, he’s still swoon-worthy). Green flags all around. (Though, I hated that he called her Tiffy, especially during spice scenes…haha, I’m sorry but that’s just not a cute nickname).

The end left a few things open and unanswered; however, this is because she is setting it up to be the first book in a series of interconnected standalones. Well, I’m now hooked and will definitely be keeping my eyes out for the next book! 👀

This book is available in two versions: Sweet (non-explicit, just kisses) and Spicy (mild explicit language, open-door) so readers can enjoy it at their own comfort level! I personally read the Spicy version and wanted to note that I felt the spice was well-balanced with the romance and plot. There were only about 2 or 3 open-door scenes so didn’t feel overly spicy and I didn’t think the spice distracted from the story at all!

Thank you to Dr. Melissa Dymond, Netgalley, and Victory Editing for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review!

This book seriously gave off Grey’s Anatomy vibes and I am obsessed I love that show and to have read it in a book is amazing! I loved the dual and the future/past timelines. It brought the book together and was able to learn and understand all of Tiffany’s insecurities. I love the dynamic between characters. It was just a refreshing fun adventure in a book!

“It’s like I’m always telling you. You’re stuck with me.”
There are green flags... Then there is Ethan Clark!!! He is definitely the biggest green flag to ever exist!!! There are tropes that are regular in any romance book... But instead of executing those in the same old way, I loved how the author spun them in a refreshing way... Even the grumpy/Sunshine trope, because here the usual sunshine is the grumpy one!
There are so many things I loved about this book... (a) The story.... It's so refreshing to read a medical drama, a romance, that too with a suspense!! I have to tell you @melissadymond you are a genius! (b) The characters... Both Tiffany and Ethan were so likable. Tiffany having her dark past, and Ethan being the epitome of support, the story stood strong in their shoulders. (c) The writing... There isn't a bit in the book where I didn't like reading it at all. It is so smooth that the story just flows on and on. I'm so happy to be given that eARC, because this is hands down the best romance I read recently! Thank you so much, and eagerly waiting for the upcoming stories from Dr. Hart world! And I definitely need a physical copy of this one!!

And if these tropes excite you,
🔵 Medical Romance
🔵 Grumpy/Sunshine (reverse)
🔵 Dual Timeline
🔵 Workplace Romance
🔵 Forced proximity
🔵 Rivals to Lovers
🔵 He falls first
🔵 Slow Burn
You will definitely love this book!

Thank you NetGalley, and Victory Editing for sending me this ARC.

This book fit perfectly in my Grey’s Anatomy mood I was having! I was not expecting the thrilling heist/suspense elements to be so intriguing. Overall I wished there was more medical drama and better pacing with the flashbacks, after 50% I was finally hooked. I’d recommend this to someone who likes reading character driven plot, as Tiffany’s journey is such a beautiful transformation.

Thank you Netgally for the eARC!

It felt like I was running out of time so I badly needed some good quality reads in the shortest amount of time — and this title came up.

It was an easy and quick read, just as I wanted. Being fond of Grey’s Anatomy made me think as if this is a book version of a couple in the series. Kind of like Dr. Pierce and the guy intern (sorry! I forgot the naaaame!)

The “dark past” of Dr. Hart was not exactly what I pictured. The comeback of a person from her past felt forced and the same goes for the resolution afterwards. It also felt like the male lead was somewhat built up for somebody who once was part of Dr. Hart’s past but then turned out he’s not (and he’s an entirely different person).

The illustrations on the book was the real ✨bomb✨. There were definitely a lot of swoon-worthy lines but they seemed cliché— but they are reaction worthy. Some of mine include: ‘What the—?’, ‘Huh-‘, and ‘Really?’

It’s good for a quick read with a little spice medical-themed romance.

I enjoyed this book even though i had a hard time getting into it. I loved the characters.
The book was fast paced and the last 25% felt rushed. The book ends and you still have lots of questions even though it is said that they will be answered in the next standalones of the series.
I enjoyed Tiffany and Ethan, they were fun to read about.

Genre: Romance (can be spicy or clean)
Rating: 4/5⭐️
Spice: 2/5 🌶️ (there is a closed door option for this book)

Summary: Tiffany built herself up to the resident she is by keeping everyone at a distance. Suddenly, a new resident joins her team and she finds her walls coming down little by little and it’s terrifying.

Thoughts: I enjoyed reading this one so much! I absolutely loved the dual timeline and how pieces of the story were revealed.

There was so much heart to this story and a very dramatic build to the ending, without being overly frustrating.

There were a few scenes that felt a little awkward to me, but overall the characters and storyline had me not wanting to put it down.

A slow burn medical romance with a bit of suspense. It's giving early Grey's Anatomy vibes and I'm here for it.

Paging Dr Hart is a duel pov with two stories that come together at the end featuring our protagonist Tiffany's present and childhood. The suspense comes from Tiffany recieving texts and images from an unknown caller alluding to her past. I was quite intrigued by what this could all mean and it gave a little mystery.

Tiffany is a third year radiologist at Mercy hospital and during her presentation a man in the audience corrects her on a mistake she had made, spoiling her presentation and irritating Tiffany, she ends up finding out that this man is actually applying for a radiology position within Mercy. So of course their first encounter with each other isn't the best.
Ethan is our new book boyfriend, he's charming, sweet, handsome and very patient (pun intented) I really liked the slow burn relationship and they were cute throughout the book. The disney scenes were so adorable.

What I didn't like so much were the "spice" scenes, but that's just my opinion, I always find sex scenes a bit cringe and awkward and tend to blast through them. There were roughly three sex scenes so it's not full of spice just a little sprinkle. (I am aware the author has two versions of this book, one without spice if you are looking for it without) There were also quite a few Taylor Swift references in this book. I think authors need to tone down that kind of stuff. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I get that she's a big artist but its been happening quite a bit in romance novels. I also felt like we could have had more. So many things left unexplored.

I really enjoyed Dr Melissa Dymond's writing and this is the first book of her's that I have read but its not a debut. I look forward to reading more books written by Dymond.

Tropes include:

- He Falls First
- Reverse grumpy x sunshine
- Duel Timeline
- Rivals to Lovers
- Forced Proximity

If you like the sound of any tropes, I highly recommend you pick this book up!
