Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this book!
What a great romcom!! I enjoyed this book so much. A first for me by this author but will not be my last! Wow!! So good!! I loved the characters and they worked so well together.
This was such a heartwarming and sweet audiobook! It was a really good summer listen, which was what I was definitely going for!
This was the first novel I've read by Wendy Francis. I chose it because I have a soft spot for coastal New England summer reads and it did not disappoint. This book is a great read for fans of Elin Hilderbrand or anyone who likes a good beach read filled with family and romantic drama.
The book focuses on four female main characters, three of whom are the Lancaster sisters: Shelby - a single mother entangled with a married man; Kate - the "perfect" sister whose world is rocked when she discovers something unseemly about her husband; Bree - the "wild child" baby sister; and Robin - a local police officer who is investigating a dead body found in the water after a Memorial Day weekend party at the Lancaster's beach home.
Put this one in your beach bag if you're in the mood for a vacation read with a mystery sub-plot!Unfortunately, I was not a big fan of the narrator, particularly when she was doing the voice of Kate's young daughter, Clara, so I would recommend reading this one over listening to the audiobook. Thank you to NetGalley, Lake Union Publishing, and Brilliance Audio for an audiobook and e-book to review!
This was a good book. I will admit at first it was hard keeping track of all of the characters, but once you sorted them out, made the book better. I love the bond that these sisters have. I love how they help each other out. I did enjoy this book. I thought the narrator was great!
FEELS LIKE SUMMER is a perfect summer read. I really enjoyed all of these characters. The multiple timelines kept it interesting and I couldn't wait to see how everything would come together in the end. Highly recommend.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Brilliance Publishing for my gifted ALC.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC and the perfect summer read. This is a family drama that follows three sisters who are all at pivotal moments in their lives. The sisters are entertaining and relatable and I ant to be best friends with every single one of them. And the huge twist at the end that I didn't see coming.
Feels Like Summer by Wendy Francis starts with us hearing from Lieutenant Robin Shipman. I did a doubletake, thinking I downloaded the wrong book. The aspect of whose body was found threw everything off in a way I didn't like. I was looking forward to hearing about the relationship between the three sisters, per the summary. When the story focused on them and their lives, I was engrossed and wanted more, even if I didn't like them.
I did not care for Kimberly M. Wetherell. Her voice is grating, especially when speaking for Clara. I will stay away from her in the future.
I rate Feels Like Summer 3 stars, deducting 1 start each for the narrator and the mystery surrounding the death.
Thank you to Brilliance Publishing for providing me with an ALC.
A good narrator but I could not get into the story or stories. I didn’t connect with any of the characters and didn’t care about them one way or the other. Too bad because the potential was there.
“Feels like summer”is an interesting story that revolves around 3 sisters…Bree, Shelby and Kate. And the story is told via 3 points of view.
Like every family, the sisters cannot live apart one minute, and then want to kill each other the next minute…
Shelby seems to be a free spirit who works hard and parties hard too! She is a successful real estate agent and has a teenage son.
Kate is married to her handsome lawyer husband and has a 3 year old little girl. She loves her little family, but also wants to run away at times!
Bree is an artist who is still trying to find her way…but she knows that she always has her two sisters to turn to, if she ever needs them!
We open up with a police search in the harbor near their homes…
And as we learn more and more about the sisters, we realize that everything is not always as it seems, and sometimes things may be there that you never even see…
As we delve into their friends and relationships, lives start to crumble. Is is too late to pick up the pieces and put them all back together?
Can the sisters really always heal each other?
Pick this one up to find out!
Set in a pretty little beach town on the outskirts of Boston, you feel like summer really has already begun!
3 1/2 ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 for me, rounded up to 4!

This listen was not my cup of tea, unfortunately. So much going on, and nothing going on, all wrapped up in one.
Thank you to Netgalley and Brilliance Publishing (Brilliance Audio) for the chance to listen to this ARC.
I really enjoyed the relationships between the three sisters and the story of the individual stories but I felt like the dead body in the ocean was out of left field. Two of the sisters had infidelity in their story...ones husband was cheating on her and the other was involved with a married man. The third is struggling financially and is hoping that her sisters will help her out. As the join together at the beach, they are trying to hide their issues from each other until they realize they are all struggling. I felt like the storyline of the dead body in the ocean did not really relate to the story especially with it just being an accident. Id it had been Dr. Beau who died instead, I think it would have connected a little more. I still really enjoyed the story and the drama that came with it.
This was my first book by Wendy Francis and it exceeded my expectations. Feels Like Summer is everything I look for in a summer/beach read. The novel starts out with a potential dead body and leaves you guessing throughout as you meet a group of three dysfunctional sisters. I enjoyed reading about all of their hardships and learning how their lives intertwined. The ending was not at all what I expected but I really enjoyed it.
I will definitely be reading more by Wendy Francis.
Thank you to NetGalley, Brilliance Audio, and the author for the opportunity to listen to an ALC in exchange for an honest review.
Thank you to NetGalley for the advance audio copy of this title. The Lancaster sisters have always celebrated Memorial Day together. This year, Kate and Bree descend on the seaside town where their sister, Shelby lives a week early. Kate is having a marital crisis, and Bree is facing financial and relationship troubles. Shelby is hiding a secret of her own, which gets revealed during a police investigation. The characters are true-to-life, and likeable, and the plot moves swiftly along.
An interesting mix of family drama, women's fiction and mystery/suspense. Infidelity is a large part of this novel and that isn't my favorite theme for a book.
Set throughout Memorial Day Weekend, this book intertwines the tale of three sisters each going through individual struggles. One is having a romance with a married man, one is struggling with a divorce, and one is out of cash… again.
As the sisters head to the beach to bolster their moods, they learn to lean on one another to help each other out of their tough spots.
My Thoughts: Wendy Francis writes such cozy beach reads and this one is no exception. It was a fun story that kept me entertained while reading!
Three sisters. Shelby, Kate and Bree. One beach house and a summer that seems to bring them closer to one another. The story covers a variety of drama events in each of the sister’s own lives. They are all in various stages of life and experiencing a change or difficult time. They have their own perspective on life and what each other should be doing. I really enjoyed how the story unfolded and we got to see how the dynamics of the sisters was. This book is full of family drama, gossip and family bonding/healing. The audiobook is narrated by Kimberly M. Wetherell. She did a great job covering the sisters and telling their various perspectives. It was a great summer beach read. Many thanks to Brilliance Publishing and NetGalley for the digital review copy of this novel. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.
