Although this wasn't one of the best books I've ever read but it was still really enjoyable to read while not being overcomplicated to follow along with,
The characters were really well developed and the writing style was just perfect for me
A very satisfying collection of poems. Loved the ones on "Setting Myself on Fire", quite heart wrenching and poignant
This was a little hard to review. Although I didn't relate to many of the poems, I could tell that these were very personal. I do want to note that one of my favorite poems in this collection was Journal Entry #305.
I had high hopes for this one and I was really excited to read this collection. Some poems were good, but I was having a hard time connecting with most of them. Towards the end I started feeling quite annoyed. Unfortunately it didn't work out for me.
DNF: I liked the topics and the approach, along with a few metaphors, but I feel it wasn't as edited as it could have been. It was too raw/disorganized for me, and I failed to connect with it.
Loved this collection of poems. Very real & heartfelt. Not too esoteric, I could connect with what the author wrote.
“When will I be able to recognize the fear, sit with it and choose to love myself anyways?“
Just like the tight grip of her hand when I whispered, “I just want to make you happy.”
This was a lovely collection of poetry that felt very personal towards the author. Christian has a beautiful way of writing and displays a lot of imagery within the words.
This book was okay. The cover drug me in because I loved the simplicity in it, but the content didn't stand out to me, nor made a ton of sense. I was kind of disappointed but read the whole thing.
