When a young woman covered in blood falls into the lobby of a police station detectives pope and brody send her to the hospital. When they question the woman she says she has total amnesia.
Pope and brody discover a dead man at a old building called the collective, seemingly uncovering a cult that preys on young girls.
Unraveling the mystery of who all is involved in the cult, keeping the woman safe, dealing with her own troubled relationship with her boyfriend Alex and his daughters has detective pope up at night trying to solve the mystery. A fast paced and interesting novel
This is book 2 in the DCI Pope series and easily read as a stand alone, although I would recommend reading the previous one as it is equally as good! it's an easy read but has unusual plotting, which I really enjoyed and I love the characterisation, especially Pope. There were a few twists, some personal insights and I loved the surprise ending. I would like to see more of Pope and hope we don't have to wait too long for her next case. Thanks to Net Galley for my ARC.
I love these UK murder mysteries they are so different from others and you can really get into them and the Characters. This one was on a very hard topic that needs to be discussed more because unfortunately it happens a lot. This was well written and I can’t wait to read what’s next!
