Oh bewitching thing called female rage! If you love a fun twisty turny thriller about a woman who is giving back as good as she got, please plase please read this one.
I don't know what it is with me and books where the female protagonist is on a hunt for bad men who are gonna get what's coming to them. This was so good! The sibling relationship was top-notch, the snark was there, the fun was there, the twists and turns, a dash of romance and a sprinkling of implausible coincidences were also there. This was one gory thrilling romp of a book! Trigger warnings apply, but go for it if you loved How to Kill Men and get away with it by Katy Brent and couldn't wait for something similar, or if you like the Finlay Donovan series but want to dip your toes into something more graphic.
Thank you Netgalley for this ALC.

I loved the idea but the execution fell a little flat. The characters, especially. I had to DNF this one because reading it felt like a chore

Julie Mae Cohen's Bad Men introduces us to Saffy Huntley-Oliver, a glamorous socialite who moonlights as a serial killer, targeting only the worst of men—rapists, murderers, and abusers. Her life takes a twist when she develops an unexpected crush on Jonathan Desrosiers, a true-crime podcaster renowned for solving cold cases. As Saffy orchestrates a way into Jon's life to help clear his name after a decapitated body is found on his doorstep, the lines between her vigilante justice and personal desires blur dangerously. Cohen masterfully blends dark humor with suspense, crafting a feminist thriller that's both wickedly fun and thought-provoking.

I really enjoyed this audio book. The take on a female serial killer really hooked me and kept me guessing until the end.
The dual POV really helped the story progress and I loved seeing the confused (Johns) side vs the cunning side of the story.
The narration was amazing and I felt like the voices fit so well for the characters. It even sounded great at ×2 speed.

This was honestly kind of disappointing. It starts off portraying feminist serial killer Saffy, who only kills bad men. She’s lately been orchestrating a romance with a true crime podcaster who finds himself accused of murder. The two need to work together to figure out how to clear his name. It felt like a mix of serial killer/true crime with romance but didn’t really do either one justice. For all the hype around her being a serial killer, I feel like we never really got more of that. There’s flashbacks and references, but really the whole book is more centered around John (the male MC) as a mystery for him. And even on that front, I had it solved pretty early so it was kind of disappointing to be right. And as for romance there’s really not much of that either. Just kind of lackluster for me TBH. I did enjoy the narrator for the audiobook though!

This was a pretty good book. I loved the beginning but lost interest in the middle for a bit before loving it again. I also enjoyed the narrator and that she was easy to listen to and understand.

Bad Men by Julie Mae Cohen is wicked! A satirical, entertaining read about women with power. Loved! Thank you to Netgalley and RB Media for the ARC.

A little campy, a little creepy, very intriguing. This was a good read! I kept coming back to for more!

This book is just not what I look for in reading. Billed as a "feminist serial killer" book, it just really seems like the series "Dexter" rebranded. A serial killer taking the "moral" high road, and only killing those that "Deserve" to be killed. It just didn't strike me as more well written than Dexter, and I already have experienced that series.
I didn't love the characters, although I realize that was the point. It was just something that I couldn't get past, and when I don't care about the characters or what happens to them, it really makes me not want to read the book. This book may appeal to some, but at this time in my life, it did not appeal to me.
Thank you to the author, publisher and Net Galley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I had a reeeeeally hard time with this one. The premise sounded great. The cover is captivating. The execution? A total bellyflop. I did not resonate with the characters at all. I loved the premise of this feminist main character but where was the follow through? We got nothing from her. This was a big nothing burger in my opinion. Unfortunately did not like much about this at all. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book was a DNF for me. I got to 30% and decided it was not for me. Hopefully it will be a good fit for someone else!

Interesting premise and started out really fun, but I felt like the MC kinda lost herself when she met the love interest. it was a sudden change in personality and it didn’t really click with me. enjoyed the audio narrator though

It has an interesting premise with well-developed, and sometimes stereotypical characters. Despite this, I found the book to be lacking in that it didn’t quite all come together.
Thank you to NetGalley and RB Media who provided me with a copy of this book. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

This book was so much fun, twisty and something a bit different I really enjoyed!! Playful and still mysterious with a twist you probably would not see.

The narrator Nathalie Buscombe does a FABULOUS job she saved the audiobook for me and her voice made the book come alive. Bad Men. seels itself as a feminist serial killer book, and it was much more of a serial killer romance Jonathan is a fantastic "straight man" and Saffy's batshit crazy. The story itself was good and entertaining to listen to. While I saw all the twists coming that didn't detract from my enjoyment. It was fun to hear that I was right in my predictions. I do kinda wish Jonathan questioned Saffy a little more because that girl was a walking red flag and he only saw one of them. It's a fun twist on thrillers by putting you in the POV of someone who would normally be one of the antagonists. While I didn't like her Saffy was still fun. I just kinda wish she didn't talk like she just googled feminism and was trying to say all the buzz phrases throughout the book.

We've all come across bad men, but not like this. The gripping intrigue, dramatic crescendo and well written plot make this an enjoyable read.

Good for her! I absolutely loved this book. It was very clever and I didn’t want it to end. Thanks NetGallery!

I had to DNF this book because of the sensitive nature of the trauma the main character hints at in the beginning.

Thank you for this arc of Bad Men by Julie Mae Cohen.
I’m not sure if this just hit me at a bad time and I couldn’t get into it, but I just could not connect with this story as a reader and dnf’ed at 17%. The premise sounded so promising and interesting however it was boring and I couldn’t bring myself to come back to it in time. Perhaps I will attempt to read in the future.

I was invested straight from the start. I liked this book a lot! Suspense was high, I cared about the characters. I felt like the ending could have focused a bit more on the protagonist, I liked her journey and hoped to have a bit more punch packed in there. I appreciated the subtlety and letting her get away with murder, but it would have been so satisfying to have more emphasis on her escape or having the love interest find out about her murderous streak. Overall, still loved it.
