This was such an interesting listen. I cleaned my whole house listening to this and no regrets. Dark comedy at its finest.
The whole female serial killer thing was a different twist. It was fun but dark and silly even at times but still kind of creepy.
I enjoyed this more then I expect to. Great listen.
Thank you NetGalley for the AAC!

The first chapter started off well with insight into the main character's childhood. After this introduction, I had difficulty connecting with any of the characters and didn't enjoy the plot. This book wasn't for me.

A decent book. It had some really good parts. It also was a little odd with how the characters fit together. It threw me off and made me less interested in the storyline.

Loved this one! Definitely more focus on the romance than I had anticipated but it thrilled me. A serial killer who falls in love and in true manipulative fashion, orchestrates a perfect scenario to have him fall in love with her as well. Twisted, funny at times, dark, and I didn’t guess a thing about it.

If you are looking for a feminist thriller with female serial killer main character living a dual life and killing bad men, look no further.
This was such a thrilling ride and the book was filled with twists and turns. Saffy Huntley Oliver is a socialite but she has a hidden side/identity. She had an unsettling childhood and she wanted to eradicate bad men from the world. The kind of men who abuse women, murderer and rapists. Saffy thought she found her man in a true crime podcaster but as soon as secrets begin to unveil and when a dead body is found at Jon’s doorstep, he becomes a primary suspect. The unthinkable happening turns her world upside down. She is determined to clear his name but the truth is twisted.
The characters have a hidden identity and the book was fast paced. I liked Saffy’s character. She was a perfectly flawed and appeared realistic to me. The writing was good. The suspense stayed till the end. The narration was gripping. The book has it all; female serial killer, siblings bond, murder, mystery, suspense and romance.
Many Thanks to RB Media, Narrator and Author.

I loved this book / audiobook so much! Great characters, fast moving, interesting backstories. I zoomed through it and was recommending it to friends before I even finished it. Wish I could read it for the first time again.

✨Do you enjoy dark comedy?✨
Wow! This delivered everything I wanted from a dark comic, feminist thriller. It’s giving… Dexter, meets the MindF*ck series by S.T. Abby meets sex and the city! It delivered!
Thank you to @Recordedbooks, @juliecihenauthor & @netgally for this ARC audio copy!
I absolutely devoured this and couldn’t wait to know more about Saffy.
She’s an unforgettable character and is the irresistible serial killer you didn’t know you needed! Witty, charming, and just may be a sociopath…
I would read an entire Saffy Series!

This was a fast paced read but predictable. The twists were easily guessable. I wish the story line was more focused on Saffy and her “extra curriculars”

Bad Men - Julie Mae Cohen
4.5⭐️
This audiobook was so fun. We constantly hear about men who are awful and not enough about them paying for their crimes. A female serial killer who takes out only bad men so is she really all that bad? Personally, I support women’s rights and women’s wrongs. The main character was so smart and charming and extremely self aware, it was hard not to side with her. I really enjoyed the way she was written. I recommend this book if you love unreliable narrators or crazy women. Or even if you just love a good book.

This was a fun book but I wasn't too engrossed by the mystery of it. I wish there were more details on Saffy and her proclivities. Thank you to net galley and the publisher for the ARC!

This was a perfect blend of funny feminism and serious murder mystery. I found myself saying several times while reading this "no way this is going to happen" and then it does. I love the dual POV, though listening to audio did make it a little hard to keep up which POV there was in. I do wish the side characters, such as Suzy, Finley, and Jonathan's ex wife had a bit more page time. I also wish we could have seen more of Saffy's serial killer side, but maybe we will see that in a sequel?
What I really appreciated in this book, more than anything, was the way that we could understand Saffy's decision and motivation for her behaviors. I could totally see murdering men who are evil, not that I would do it myself.

Bad Men, by Julie Mae Cohen, is such a fun book. Snarky and twisty and thoroughly enjoyable. The narrator, Nathalie Buscombe, is absolutely perfect. I loved the premise: a female socialite/serial killer, ridding the world of douchebags more effectively than our imperfect legal system. This audiobook definitely made every drive feel too short. Highly recommend!!!

4ish stars
This book was a fun, wild ride. It was violent and funny, sometimes at the same time, and it reminded me (in a good way) of a couple other books I’ve read over the past couple of years. I appreciated the mix of humour and not-so-subtle social commentary. It was a bit weird, but I did quite enjoy it.

3.75 stars
I’m not really sure how to review this book since I feel like a lot of the descriptions would give it away, but I loved the concept of a female vigilante! I really enjoyed Saffy as the female protagonist/hero/anti-hero. She was a strong female character who knew what she wanted and was pretty smart too! I always appreciate when an author writes a smart female character. Usually the women are morons who run upstairs when problems arise.
Then I loved the twists. They were not all very surprising, but I really enjoyed them.
Thanks NetGalley and publisher for the digital copy in exchange for my honest review!

I LOVE a morally grey character... and a female serial killer?!? I am all in!
Bad Men by Julie Mae Cohen was fabulous. After childhood trauma (mentioned, explicitly shown on page), Saffy Huntley-Oliver has evolved into a woman who kills bad men. Abusers, murderers, just all around bad guys - this baddie gets rid of them. She is a model and a socialite - leading a double life is a challenge, but this feminist does it with aplomb.
She has developed a crush on a true-crime podcaster (of all people!), Jonathon Desrosiers, who just so happens to be married. However, Saffy learns that his wife has left him and he found a severed head on his doorstop the next morning.
She organizes a meetcute to try to help him out, and to get him to fall for her. This was a brilliant blend of humor - Saffy is hilarious! Dexter vibes, and I was AMAZED at the lengths that girlfriend went to get Jonathon in her hooks.
I kind of figured out the mystery murderer ahead of time, but this book was so entertaining that it still deserves five stars. Nathalie Buscombe narrated this book brilliantly.

Narraowaa great. Book was just ok

Bad Men by Julie Mae Cohen - This is why I usually go into books blind. No reading the synopsis etc. I read the synopsis and was SO excited for this book. It really took a different direction than I expected from the blurb on the book. I did enjoy the book but I feel like I would have enjoyed it more if I didn't have the expectations I did. The characters were interesting, the book kept me guessing. A solid thriller.

What a unique serial killer thriller!
This was told from two different perspectives, John and Saffy. Saffy is a serial killer who targets bad men. John is a murder pod caster who Saffy crushes on.
The way their lives intertwine is pretty great! I really enjoyed the ending as well. It had a happy ending despite the circumstances. That isn’t common in a book about a serial killer.
The only thing I would change would be the naivety of John. He supposedly solved a lot of murders, but couldn’t see that Saffy is a serial killer.
All in all, very entertaining. I enjoyed Saffy’s commentary and her whit!

This was fairly predictable, but still a fun time. I enjoyed our main character and I loved the obsession she had. I just wish there was a bit more unique to this or that it was slightly less predictable.

I love the concept of Bad Men. I love the idea of a female version of Dexter. The main character is a likeable sociopath and does a great job performing as a normal person. Finding herself interested in falling in love and attracted to a podcaster. She decides to take the same level of detail she does when she kills to create a meet cute. This is a dark romance and is very well performed by Nathalie. I would recommend this to those who are searching for an October romance or a dark comedy. I did find parts of it very predictable but very likeable.
