The unseriousness of this story in a time when the world is unsafe and scary is almost therapeutic. I’ve been in a reading slump all year due to everything that is happening and I was able to relax and laugh a little with these characters. Even if the gross naivety of the vampires in the story annoyed me at times. But maybe that’s because I’m used to vampires who are more integrated within human society, since they are predators it makes more sense that they’d be able to move throughout society without attracting unnecessary attention. But that could just be from the vampires I know from other stories. Needless to say it was a sticking point for me even if I enjoyed the rest of the book. I felt the same about Frederick in the previous book. Reggie was delightful btw I loved him and his bullet journal.

I loved this book! I had enjoyed her other book so I knew what to expect. I highly recommend this book if you like paranormal romance!

Jenna Levine has done it again, bringing such a fun and quirky story to life! I laughed so much, and enjoyed the escape read from start to finish.

MY VAMPIRE PLUS-ONE is the latest installment in the My Vampires series, this time centering around Reginald and Amelia. It was the perfectly spooky szn romance that was a great pick for Halloween.

Reggie is such a great character, and I was so excited for him to get his girl.

This has to be one of the FUNNIEST fiction books I’ve read in recent memory, and probably most definitely my funnest read of 2024.

I absolutely cannot wait until this book comes out for reasons being:
1. I want everyone to giggle and laugh just as much as I did while reading (literally whenever Reginald opens his mouth).
2. So I can go buy it and know that this book has a permanent place on my bookshelf.
3. So I can recommend this (and its companion- my roommate is a vampire) to everyone who hasn’t asked.

I liked this one way more than the first. The first one was a nightmare I’m not even gonna lie.

While reading this one I did realize what it is that I hate about these books. It’s the way the authors writes the vampires. They are so over the top cringy and I’m not sure why she chose to go with that.

If it wasn’t for that I would actually really enjoy these books.

This was so much fun! I loved the first book in the series and thought Reggie's character was hilarious, so I was really excited when I learned the second book would feature him as the love interest. He was absolutely delightful and I laughed out loud a handful of times over his jokes, puns, and general zany nature. The plot was interesting enough and never got too serious, even though Reggie was supposedly in danger - there was always a general feeling of ineptitude from the Committee, so it was easy to bliss out in the sweet rom-com vibes. ♥️ Cotton candy in book form, this one.

I just don't understand why her family is down on her for being a CPA. She is college-educated, makes good money, is clearly successful in her field, but the way her family talks about her being a CPA you would think she working at a fast food counter 60 hours a week. The family claims it is because they love her so much and want her to take care of herself...but then they refuse to feed her at literally every single family function.

Amelia and Reggie are cute, the chemistry is fun, and it is a very light read.

Unfortunately, the thing I disliked the most about the first book was essentially repeated again with this book (without giving anything anyway, for me it is how the antagonists are defeated, it just seems to0 easy and plot-convenient). I would give 2.5 - 3 stars.

Ok this book was an absolute delight!! Jenna is such a talented author and I love her writing style so much. I was a fan of Jenna’s debut but this book has Reggie so I’m automatically predisposed to like it more. Reggie is hilarious and earnest and quirky and just a really fun vampire! Amelia is driven and extremely intelligent and quirky in her own right, too. They foul each other so nicely and I loved watching them fall for each other.
1 million/10 I definitely recommend!!

I don't usually read romance novels, but this was such a fun and quirky story! I liked how quirky it was and that it had a magical aspect to it because I have to have some sort of magic to feel attached to a book. Definitely a favorite romance of mine!

Just an FYI, while this is the second book to a series with returning characters from book 1, it also works well on its own. I haven't read the first book, and I think it explained everything fine. This is just a super goofy, flirty supernatural romance; even when the big bads are threatening violence, they come of as real squares. Reggie is infuriating in a fun way, and I love how much he cares about Amelia's boundaries. The cover art really gives the right impression of a charming asshole. I really related to Amelia's situation with her family, both with respect to her relationships and her dietary restrictions (though no one disregards my lactose intolerance more than myself). Somehow, the instalove didn't bother me like it normally would; a major feat in my book. Nor did the miscommunication trope, it really hits different when the miscommunication comes down to him being honest about being a vampire the whole time, but she's thinks he's joking for like half the book. Overall, it's a fun break from any serious fare.

After the last book I thought this one would be hard to live up to its predecessor. I’m happy to report I was wrong!

This was such a fun read. Loved all the side throws to twilight and Edward Cullen. As someone who loves Twilight I love seeing references and nods to that iconic series.

If you’re looking for a fun silly way to kill a few hours you’re bound to love this one. I can not wait for Jenna Levine’s next book as it will obviously be a riot.

Now this was such a quirky and fun read! It gives cozy vampire vibes with comedy and I really loved it. The characters were great but Reggie was hands down my favorite character. The humor in this book made me laugh so much that I got a few looks while reading it in public. Really great read and I absolutely love Jenna's writing.

Fake dating? Yes, please! I had so much fun reading this and Reginald is such a golden retriever and a fun character to read about.

If there is one thing that I can guarantee with a Jenna Levine book, it's that it is going to make me laugh and boy did this one make me laugh. If you are looking for a book that is going to be 100% a good time, I definitely recommend picking this one up (or the first book in this series if you haven't read it already). I think that Jenna has a really fresh take on vampires that adds a bit of comedic relief that we don't usually see typical in that niche of romance novels and in this one in particular she takes a trope (miscommunication) that a lot of people tend to not enjoy reading and turns it into something really creative, funny and new!

After reading My Roommate is a Vampire, I was hoping that we would get a Reginald book because his character is absolutely hilarious and really steals the show. Reggie is a bit of an odd ball, eclectic if you will, especially aesthetically speaking. He garners a lot of attention and I just think he is such an interesting and funny character so getting to read his perspective and see him more front and center was so fun. He is so effortlessly charming and devastatingly swoon-worthy. (And he just adds to the fact that I demand justice for blonde mmcs and love interests!)

Amelia was funny as well but in a more unexpected way. All of the tax legal jargon in this could have been overwhelming but instead it was delivered in a way that just felt like a juxtaposition. And the way that her job played a key part in this story was also really enjoyable.

And I can't mention Amelia without mentioning Sophie because Sophie is who I related to throughout this whole thing. “So he has a few red flags. Who doesn’t?” The married friend with children who is wanting all the details and encourages her friend to live her best life and bone a vampire. Yep, that's me.

Overall, I really loved this book and I can't wait for the next book! I am already counting down the days until it is released!

This was a cute story and an average read for me. It held my interest enough to finish, but it's not typically the type of characters I would read. But overall it was a quick, fun read.

This book had the same lighthearted, unserious charm as the previous one, making it an enjoyable palate cleanser. Reggie’s fun-loving personality balanced well with Amelia’s structured life, and their dynamic was entertaining. While it didn’t leave a strong impression, it was a fun, easy read for those looking for a low-stress story.

In 2023 I picked up Levine’s My Roommate is a Vampire on a complete whim. I don’t do romance, but I love vampires, so I figured, why not give it a try? Turns out, I do in fact do romance (at times) and I really love the way Levine writes vampires.

Naturally, when I heard that Levine was giving my favorite vampire, Reginald Cleaves, his own story, it was a no-brainer that I would be snagging a copy!

My Vampire Plus-One completely lived up to my expectations! This story is downright fun! From the minute that Amelia meets Reggie readers know that they’re going to be in for an entertaining time. I loved their dynamic and the way Levine crafted their fake dating story (look at me knowing romance tropes!).

The real question here isn’t if you should buy this book, because duh. The question is: Do I need to read these in order? No, but you really should. There are some pretty big spoilers in this book for Roommate and as someone who has read both, I think you’ll regret knowing them in advance. PLUS!!!! There is a third book coming! So just buy both and then start counting down to October with me for the next dose of Levine’s Vampires!

I loved this one as much as the first. It just feels so relaxed while all the things happen. It’s so cute and holds such a vibe. I want more!
