Like a big warm hug full of hilarious humor and steam. Completely loved Reginald getting his chance for love. (This book could be a stand alone, but I suggest you to read the first book before this one!)

This book was so much fun in the first half. Then I think I got a little disappointed when the whole concept of the vampire being the plus one at the wedding took a backseat to what I thought was a secondary plot line.

I found myself looking forward to them going to a wedding and then that didn’t happen until the epilogue.

Overall, it was fun, easy and cute. If only mildly disappointing there was not more wedding shenanigans and fake dating.

I received and eARC of this book from NetGalley for my honest review. Thank you for the chance to read and review this book.

MY VAMPIRE PLUS ONE, is just as hilarious as her first - these books are such a refreshing delight, I adore reading them!!! A huge thanks to @berkleyromance for my e-ARC via @netgalley - I’m honored to have the privilege to enjoy this one before its September publication. It’ll be the perfect fall “spooky” read - be sure to add it to your TBR! 🧛🏻‍♀️🩸

That was fun!! A little silly but undeniably fun, tbh I expected more but I had a good time while reading. In this book we follow Amelia and Reginald (this name…… seriously?) after they meet by accident and she takes advantage of the one-hundred-percent-strange encounter to ask him for a favor (hello fake dating). For me, the first flaw starts right there, their relationship was very insta-lust and throughout the entire book I felt a lack of connection between them, only in the last (and when I say last I mean literally the last 10% of the book) chapters do they seem to have developed something deeper. For me the timeline didn't make much sense either, after six (I repeat, six!!!) weeks that she DISCOVERED that vampires exist she was already completely in love with one and thinking about becoming a vampire to be immortal (for him) 😭 Anyway, I tried not to take the book too seriously bc right at the beginning I realized that the idea was to be something quick, funny and light to read and in the end it served its purpose well. Would I recommend it? totally, despite the things I mentioned it was still worth reading.

Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing Group for an advanced eARC of this book for a fair and honest review!

“Could she tell just by looking at me how badly I wanted to bury my face in her hair? To bury my teeth in her neck, too– if she would allow it?”

I want to start this review off by saying this was leagues more entertaining than My Roommate’s a Vampire. I enjoyed that, but I feel like Levine really just nailed the balance of plot, romance, and vampire goodness in this one. Reggie was my favorite back in Roommate, and he is absolutely ADORABLE in My Vampire Plus-One.

I thought Amelia was a bit bland– not to compare FMCs, but Cassie had more personality than Amelia (though I did like her superpower being tax law, that was kinda fun). I do feel like it was needed to balance with Reggie’s chaos.

Unlike the first book, this wasn’t dull at all and had me laughing out loud a good number of times. The spice was spicing for sure, too (Reggie has a filthy mouth underneath Old Fuzzy). The romance felt developed, and while I wasn’t a huge fan of the overhaul of tropes in the Wisconsin scenes, I do feel like Levine made it unique enough to make it work.

One final note that may be a spoiler- I am SO disappointed we didn’t get Frederick turning Cassie in the last book or a sort of novella. I feel like this was a huge moment for that couple that just happened in passing during this book’s events, which sucks (no pun intended) because I truly enjoy Levine’s vampire lore compared to some other vampire-themed romcoms out there.

All in all, a fun and cute romance I devoured in a few days. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for eye-rollingly bad humor and sweet bloodsuckers.

Amelia is single and sick of the pressure from her family to be in a relationship. She says she has a boyfriend at family function and now has to find someone to bring to family wedding in a few days. She picks Reginald as her fake boyfriend. He seems intrigued by the idea and really works on being the perfect boyfriend. Reginald is used to standing out in a crowd so him trying to conform to normal dress and conversation is hilarious. He tells her he is a vampire fugitive but it takes her awhile to understand he wasn’t kidding.

She is shocked to learn that vampires have been living among humans and she never realized. She realizes she just might be able to use her skills to get the collective to stop harassing Reginald.

Reginald is so caring and doting on her that he forces her to take breaks and unwind. This book was funny and sweet both at the same time. I liked how it had Frederick and Cassie from book one in this as is set up for a third.

Another absolutely stellar vampire story from Jenna Levine! Thank you NetGalley and Berkley for an advanced copy of the ebook as it was delightful!

Right from the jump I LOVED Amelia. I saw a lot of myself in her which made the story all the more enjoyable. And Reggie?? REGGIE?! What an incredible character. There was nothing I didn’t like about him. 🥰 Them together was perfect and I loved having them as the main characters in this story, which was frankly so fun!

Much like My Roommate is a Vampire, this felt like a silly and raunchy D-COM original and I truly hope Jenna intends on writing more books in this universe because I will eat every single one up.

My Vampire Plus One drops Sept. 17 so get it on your TBRs!

this book was insanely fun to read! i loved the fake dating, spice, and laugh out loud moments so much. it’s the perfect palette cleanser and will pull you out of a reading slump with no problem.

now, let’s talk about reggie and amelia. i LOVE them. reggie is sweet, goofy, quirky, and insanely sexy. i loved how he would do ANYTHING for amelia. amelia is the total opposite of reggie, but i love that about her and think that’s why they worked together so well. i also loved seeing little updates of frederick and cassie from the first book!

this was such a fresh and light read. thank you so much to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing for the arc copy!

I absolutely loved this book! It

This book follows Amelia and Reggie who you first meet in Jenna’s previous book (my roommate is a vampire).
Reggie is such a goofy character that had me giggling the whole time. I love how no one takes him seriously because that’s the mask he wears but when he’s being serious you don’t know if he is. Amelia is such a serious character and takes everything at face value that makes their dynamic perfect. Also the way Reggie would do anything for Amelia from the beginning had me kicking my feet.

I love how Freddie and Cassie were also part of the story and shows a continuation of their love story.

Tropes: one bed, fake dating, age gap, serious x goofball

Thank you to NetGalley, Jenna Levine and Berkley for an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review. This review is wholly my own & may not be reproduced.

I ADORED My Roommate is a Vampire from last year, so I was thrilled to get an early read of My Vampire Plus-One.

Jenna did not disappoint. Fake Dating is one of my favorite tropes. I know how they’re going to end, but I still love them. This book was charming, fun, cute & had several LOL moments. What more could a reader want from a rom-com?

This is Reginald’s story, who we met in My Roommate is a Vampire. I LOVE that we got his story. He’s a riot! While the story did mainly focus on Reginald & Amelia, we also got updated on the development of Frederick & Cassie’s relationship, which I was really hoping for!

Overall, this was a light & easy read that was extremely enjoyable. Jenna has given us a fabulous duo in this supernatural world & I hope we get more in the future!

This is the follow up novel to My Roommate is a Vampire which was released last year. It can be read as a standalone as the characters are different with minimal overlap. Anytime I go into the next book of the series, I always have the first book to hold it up against as a judge. Will it be better? Will it be worse? In this case, I found myself not quite enjoying it as much as I did the first. I really didn’t enjoy our vampire character, Reggie, quite like I did the vampire of the first book. He was delightfully quirky, a little off, and that was fun, but just something about him wasn’t working for me. I waited a few days to try to sort it out but still can’t put my finger on it precisely. I also got a little annoyed that Amelia felt the need to remind us repeatedly that she was an accountant. Maybe the fact that I have an accounting degree just really turned me off to this, but I found it insufferable. However, I really enjoyed how the characters worked together. The communication between them was just top notch and truly to be applauded. The side characters were also loads of fun and added to this books charm.

I would recommend this to folks looking for a closed door, light vampire romance.

First off, thank you to @netgalley and @berkleypub for giving me my very first ARC!! 🥹

I just knewwww I would love this one after giving ‘My Roommate Is A Vampire’ by @jennalevinewrites 5 stars. Reginald freakin’ Cleaves did NOT disappoint! 👏🏻 What a cinnamon roll softie. Blonde MMC’s get a bad rap, but he’s one of the good ones and you can never go wrong with fake dating, I mean come on 😌

This book universe is quickly becoming one of my favorites. I may be biased because it’s set in Chicago and Naperville is my hometown, but I’m obsessed with the comedic love/hate banter, the spice, the Taylor Swift references, the Twilight references (Reggie thinking Edward Cullen is a badass is so funny to me) and the overall theme of strong, independent women who are the ones that save the men instead of the other way around. We need more of that in the romance genre!

I’m also such a sucker for mixed media in books, and this series has some of the most entertaining entries. Specifically Reggie’s bullet journaling! Doodling about Amelia and buying stickers and ribbons, just UGH I love him.

On another note, please tell me there will be a Zelda book next?!!!! Vegan-yoga instructor- witch?! Yes please!!

✨Quotes that made me giddy✨
“I would brave a blizzard just to see you smile.” SO SOFT
“I don’t know what I did to deserve you. I don’t know if I do deserve you.” Oh my GOD

Can’t wait to own a physical copy on September 17th 🤗

I didn’t think it was possible to like book 2 more than the 1st but I did!!
Think normal goofy rom com shenanigans- overbearing family, meet cute, fake dating, and a centuries old vampire vigilante club tracking down and trying to kill your date…. Totally normal, right?
This book took parts of a rom com and merged them with the paranormal in the cutest way!

Oh and Reggie is HOT. And he wears skirts.

I highly recommend reading Jenna's previous book My Roommate Is a Vampire before diving into this one. It's not necessary, but it made the book that much better.

I really loved this book! The plot was so fun and creative. I loved Reggie and Amelia's relationship so much. They say opposites attract, and that couldn't be more true in this story.

Reggie is a centuries old vampire on the run from a vigilante group of vampires out to get him for a crime he didn't commit 150+ years ago. Amelia is a logical thinking, no-nonsense CPA workaholic on her way to the top at her accounting firm.

From their meet-cute, to their budding romance, there is never a dull moment in their love story. I laughed out loud several times, and I will admit that I also found myself swooning at some of the things Reggie says.

This book is a feel-good romance with some paranormal elements, laugh-out-loud moments, and a bit of spice to make it perfectly complete.

Thanks to Berkley Romance and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC.

Perfect fall read! It's just as fun and sweet and sexy and utterly charming as My Roommate is a Vampire. I love a fun, silly, low-stakes romance with inter-species matches and this totally did it for me. It will be on a display somewhere, somehow, come October.

"My Vampire Plus-One" is the perfect read for anyone who wants a fresh, contemporary, and absolutely delightful take on a vampire / human romance! Whether readers have already read Jenna Levine's "My Roommate is a Vampire" or are just reading her books, they will be delighted by the paranormal hijinks of Amelia and Reggier. Levine's second novel strikes the perfect balance between sexy and sweet.

3.5 stars !

This was really good! I had such a fun time and it was a quick read, would be perfect for the beginning of fall.

I liked the characters. They were so fun and had great communication which made it so much more enjoyable. I’ve been getting sick of fake dating because of the whole “they are just pretending” but there was basically none of that. One thing I wish is that the characters opened up to each other more. I definitely felt the connection between them, probably not love yet (they didn’t say it to each other in the book) but I really liked them together.

The plot was so fun! I loved that it was a vampire that was essentially being hunted down and the fmc was aware of what was going on as well.

This was my first book by this author and I’m definitely going to pick up their books in the future!

Thank you to NetGalley, the publishers , and the author for the ARC.
