My Vampire Plus One is a charming fake-dating-turns-into-real-feelings story between Reggie, a sartorially unique and flamboyant vampire with a deep love of chaos, and Amelia, a human accountant with a penchant for spreadsheets and a rather demanding family. When Amelia accidentally promises to bring a date to her cousin's wedding, and Reggie needs a way to flee a weird vampire cult chasing him, fake dating seems like a simple solution. Their chemistry is undeniable, and the forced proximity of a snow storm heats things up. This was a delightful read!

If you have had the pleasure of reading My Roommate is a Vampire you already know this book could only be RIDICULOUSLY and UTTERLY CUTE. The book has 5 ⭐️ energy so don’t look to deep into my rating. I adore this series and think it’s the perfect palette cleanser read that will cure ANY book slump. This author makes vampires cute and funny versus how in many books they’re sexy, dark and broody.

I freakin love the fake dating trope!!! My favorite part is when they want to set rules like “no falling in love or no kissing” and I’m sitting here reading like mmmhhhmmmm whatever 🤭

Frederick the MMC is not only adorable but has a filthy mouth 🥵 I liked him so much!!! The FMC is an accountant and is all about her work so I enjoyed how he made her have fun and be happy. I was screaming when we got scenes and interactions with Frederick and Cassie from the previous book.. we are also introduced to some other new characters.

Overall thoughts: I really loved this book. It’s cute, funny and a lighthearted read.

Another incredible Jenna Levine novel that is fun, sexy, and pure escapism that I crave while reading paranormal romance.

Overall a quick and funny read, but maybe vampire romances aren’t for me because the whole “blood doesn’t pump through my body but I can get a raging hard on” just doesn’t make sense. Also some of the describing words during the spicy scenes were just…. Icky.

Hard working human who can’t find time for a love life vs vampire on the run from a group of vampires trying to attack him. Who knew the two of them, Amelia and Reginald would find each other one random night and then later agree to a fake dating relationship in order for them to get Amelia’s family off her back attending a family wedding and help keep Reginald undercover while staying lowkey. Read as Reginald’s funky personality and Amelia’s more serious personality blend together to create such a wonderful chemistry between the two of them while also uncovering the mystery of Reginald cleaves and the vampires who are on the hunt to find him. How can you not love a vampire romance x mystery novel?!

This book follows the story of Amelia Collins, a fiercely independent and successful woman, who is constantly harangued by her family about her lack of a love life. Determined to silence the nagging, she concocts a plan to bring a plus-one to an upcoming family wedding. Enter Reginald Cleaves, a charming and enigmatic stranger who, unbeknownst to Amelia, is a centuries-old vampire. Intrigued by Amelia's spunk and the prospect of furthering his ruse as a human, Reggie agrees to play the role of her boyfriend. As they navigate the wedding festivities, their fauxmance gradually transforms into something deeper. Amelia discovers that beneath Reggie's aloof exterior lies a heart of gold, while Reggie finds himself falling for Amelia's intelligence and kindness. Levine deftly interweaves humor and romance, creating a delightful and engaging read. Amelia's sarcastic wit and Reggie's deadpan delivery provide endless entertainment. The supporting cast of quirky and lovable characters, including Amelia's meddling family and Reggie's vampire coven, adds to the overall charm of the story. What sets 'My Vampire Plus-One' apart is its exploration of the themes of love, acceptance, and self-discovery. Amelia and Reggie's journey challenges societal expectations and preconceived notions about relationships. The novel encourages readers to embrace their individuality and seek happiness on their own terms. Overall, this book is a thoroughly enjoyable and satisfying read that will leave you smiling from ear to ear. It's a perfect blend of romance, humor, and the supernatural, with characters that will stay with you long after you've finished the book.

After reading some heavier books this was the perfect palette cleanser!! I loved my roommate is a vampire and this companion novel did not disappoint. Jenna Levine’s writing is funny and charming, I can’t help falling in love with these characters.

Thank you NetGalley and Berkley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!
“My roommate is a Vampire” is technically the first book but they are interconnected standalones you meet Reginald in the first one so I recommend reading it first! 💕

I am giving this a 3.5 stars because I felt there was a few loose ends that never got tied up

Our FMC Amelia is just the cutest! 🥰She’s an accountant and absolutely loves her job but her parents really doesn’t understand what she does or how she finds any enjoyment it doing taxes. They are worried about her working so much and the fact she has a nonexistent love life. So she hatches a plan to fake date a guy to get her family off her back. Reggie has found himself being accused of an incident that happened centuries ago. So dating a human seems like a good way to hide. What could go wrong?
I love a good little rom-com paranormal romance! And this one did everything right! The banter, the tension, fake dating! this maybe a hot take but omg I love Reginald so much more than Frederick. Reggie and his bullet journal journey had me cracking me up! I also loved the fact that he was so interested in what she did as an accountant and he even found it hot 😉

I thought the first book in this series was cute, and this one is even better. It was nice to read Reggie’s story, and to see the characters from the first book still play a role.

Overall, cute and easy read.

Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Random House for an ARC of this one! I absolutely adored My Roommate is a Vampire and was so excited to see that Reginald was getting his own story! I enjoyed it, but I think I like the first book better! But, if you want some humor, some ridiculousness and a little bit of spice then you will want to check this one out.

This book is perfect for fans of What We Do in the Shadows. It has the perfect blend of comedy, romance, and campiness.
I definitely recommend readers read My Roommate is a Vampire first, as characters and things that happened in that book are referenced in this book. That being said, I liked this book better than the first one. I loved Reggie as a character and felt like he and Amelia made such a great opposites attract combo. I liked how rough around the edges and unique Reggie was, yet his attraction and devotion to Amelia was clear. Amelia was written with such a great contrast to him, yet it worked. It was fun to read a book with a fake dating trope with vampires mixed into the plot.
I had only two issues with the book. First, things seemed to move a bit too fast from Amelia being scared of Reggie to trusting him implicitly. I would have preferred if it was worked up to a little more. And second, I felt like the things happening with Frederick and Cassie in the background were left open too much so they felt a little out of place. I’m hoping that was intentional to possibly lead into a third book.
4 stars, as hoping for future books set in the same world!

Jenna Levine has done it again. These old timey vampires are everything. The language, the outlandish clothes, the pining!!!

I loved it all. I’m ready for more from the author asap!!

While I enjoyed the first book in this series, "My Roommate Is a Vampire," the book kind of fell apart at the conflict stage for me. Unfortunately, I pretty much feel the same about "My Vampire Plus-One." I just find it hard to believe that centuries old vampires are going to be taken down by the IRS or Tik Tok. I also was so excited about the snowed in at a cabin aspect and for that to be given and then taken away before anything really fun happens, was disappointing. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed the book. And I will likely continue to read the series if there are more books, but these books just leave me feeling a bit bereft and wanting more!

When the MMC showed up in a fedora, trench coat, and hot pink skirt, I can't lie; I was taken aback. If I had read My Roommate is a Vampire first, I would have understood Reginald's character better. I think Jenna Lavine's writing style isn't for me, but I can honestly see how others are into it!

Thank you to Berkely and NetGalley for the eARC!

*3.5 stars*

This was super cute! I will say I enjoyed the first one a bit more, I think just connected with the characters more and really loved how old school Freddie was. But these characters are super cute though!

I really loved the faking dating with a vampire that you don't realize is a vampire. But I will say some of the side plot about the people after Reggie was kind of slow and I didn't find that as interesting. The romance was cute but didn't feel quite as attached to them as Freddie and Cassie. I think they had a better build up. But overall, this was a fun, quirky one but I started to lose interest towards the end but that maybe was my mood as well. They're a good light hearted read!

after recently reading my roommate is a vampire, this follow up about reggie was everything that i wanted it to be! just as cute, fun, and humorous as the first one was. i loved getting to know reggie and amelia more, and that we still got updates on FJF and cassie without it feeling like it interrupted or took over reggie & amelia’s story. i loved that we got some segments written in reggie’s POV, so much so that i wish it had been more evenly balanced between his POV and amelia’s. the little excerpts of text messages and emails and book pages at the beginning of each chapter were still super fun (and funny!). these characters are so entertaining and i hope we get to see more of them in the future, or even some new characters in the same universe (without any spoilers, specifically i’d LOVE a book about a certain someone in Napa. iykyk).

i’m so glad i got the opportunity to read this, and i’m super excited for when it releases!
