Amelia Collins is an Accountant, A CPA to be accurate, and she likes her job. No one really believes her though, even if it's true. She's tired of her family badgering her about her love life, so when a family wedding invite arrives and a chance encounter with a very dashing Reginald Cleaves happen, Amelia makes a plan and Reginald quickly agrees. Fake dating for both their benefit. What happens though when real love comes into the picture?

I adored My Roommate is a Vampire, so I was all in for this book. It was so cute and lovely. I love a good fake dating story and a MMC with a filthy vocabulary, swoon. The spice was well done, the hilarious moments were truly funny, and much like the first book it has emails, texts and letters if that's your thing. Well done and I look forward to more.

It's super cheesy and just adorable. Sometimes you need low stakes vampire romances. Reggie was a fun lead. Amelia was all business. The fake dating didn't really work for me. The tension was never there but overall it's fun. Didn't hate that I read it.

When your family just won’t stop bugging you about being single (because heaven forbid you actually enjoy being single), what do you do? You get yourself a fake date to shut them up! That’s exactly what Amelia did, except her fake boyfriend happens to be a handsome vampire. And let me tell you, the chemistry between Amelia and Reginald is electric! It pulls you in from the start and keeps you hooked.

I absolutely loved this book! It was a refreshing break from the fantasy books I’ve been reading lately. The blend of contemporary romance with a paranormal twist was perfect, and it didn’t feel over the top. The world felt balanced and believable, with just the right amount of supernatural elements to keep things fun and engaging.

I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for anything else this author writes—I’ll be ready and waiting to dive in!

I love the fake dating trope and seeing it used in My Vampire Plus-One did not disappoint! Such a cute, funny, and light-hearted read.

Amelia Collins, a single accountant, needs a date to her cousin’s wedding. Reginald is a vampire who needs to blend into society for various reasons. Reggie owes Amelia a favor after he bumps into her on the sidewalk and makes her late to a family dinner. Amelia convinces Reggie to be her fake boyfriend and accompany her to her cousin’s wedding. Will they be able to keep their relationship fake, or will real feelings develop?
Reggie is very funny character and I enjoyed all of his diary entries. I also enjoyed the glimpses into Fredrick and Cassie’s on-going relationship. This book was very funny and entertaining and I look forward to the next book by this author.

I loved this! What an excellent sequel! I wasn’t really too sure about Reggie - in the first book he gave me troll vibes and I couldn’t even remotely imagine him as being hot, but boy was I wrong! 🥵 I adored that Frederick and Cassie were in this book, and that this provided some awesome moments between them AND successfully introduced us to Amelia & Reggie’s relationship. Reggie, as always, was so quirky and endearing, and my heart broke for Amelia and the way her family treated her. This is the kind of paranormal romance that you can just get lost in and feel the serotonin released into your bloodstream. The conflict in this book and MRIAV worried me initially, but I love how both played out. If you just want a silly little romance that’ll make you smile and have a little bit of spice - this series is where it’s at!

Thank you Berkley and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion!

This was a DNF for me ... I should have known as the first book in this series was only an okay read for me but I wanted to try the author again to see if this one hit different and unfortunately it did but not in a positive way. I just couldn't get into it and so I had to put it aside for other books.

Thanks for the opportunity to read it early though.

Before I start the review this is a disclaimer that I have not read the predecessor to this book.

I thought this read was really fun and charming.

Reginald is a breath of fresh air in an MMC. I genuinely found him a delight and liked the chemistry between him an Amelia. Although I could be biased since I share his favorite TV show with him.

There is a twist that I found to be a little too predictable for my liking but I can't imagine that the author didn't know what they were doing with it as it still is pretty funny.

I think this romance balances a pretty wacky take on vampires well while creating mortal matches that complement the eccentricities of their immortal partners.

I was really hyped for this book. I mean vampires + fake dating sounds like it was absolutely made for me. I have to say that I did really enjoy my time reading this book as well. I absolutely flew through it, and I truly had a lot of fun reading it. I genuinely laughed out loud a couple of times. However, it truly didn't stand out much to me.
I feel like the characters were pretty one note in this book. We were constantly told how Amelia is an accoutant, and she's a very responsible adult because she's an accoutant, and she's very smart because she's an acoutant. Yes, this book has a weird obsession with our lead's job. It felt very off. I also feel like she was quite oblivious, which just made her seem dumb instead as well. She ignored so many clearly obvious signs, it's kind of painful. That was truly also my biggest issue with this book in general. The plot is EXTREMELY obvious, and the fact that it takes the main characters so much time to figure it out just makes them feel so stupid. Anyway, I'm getting off track. So yeah, Amelia's only personality trait was being an accountant, and Reggie was just a puppy dog. He's a happy go lucky prankster, and I truly had a hard time believing so many people could genuinely believe he commited mass murder no matter how much this book keeps emphasising how different he was back in the day. There was just no evidence of it in the text. He's like the most wholesome little shit you'll ever come across.
The romance also felt a bit underdeveloped in this book. Don't get me wrong, I think they had a lot of cute moments together, and I definitely shipped them. I just feel like we go from 0 to 100 extremely quickly with them in the feelings departement. I just feel like we could have spend a bit more time developing those feelings, but who am I to say that?
Anyway, in conclusion I thought this was a really fun book and I would definitely recommend it as a fun pallette cleanser if you are interested in it. However, it isn't anything truly stand out or memorable to me.

My Roommate is a Vampire was one of my favorite books of 2023 and I was so excited that Reginald was getting a book because he was so adorably unhinged in the first book.

I didn’t love this quite as much as I loved the first book in the series, but it was still a really fun read and I’m excited to see where the rest of the series goes since the end of this book set up the storyline for the next book.

I enjoyed the first book so I knew I had to read Reginald’s story. As usual, this is a lighthearted novel that made me giggle and gave me all the feels. Obsessed with their dynamic. If you want something fun, read this!

Is your family *that* family—the one always asking when you're going to settle down? Well, Amelia totally gets it. So what's the solution? Obviously, fake dating a centuries-old vampire. I mean, what could go wrong?

Read this for:

🧛 a quirky, funny cinnamon roll (who happens to be a vampire) fake-dating setup
🦇 an awkward, sweet vampire who's been trying (and failing) to blend in with humans for centuries
💌 delightful email exchanges, cute lists, and the ultimate fake dating rules

This book is adorable, quirky, and a ton of silly goofy fun. Amelia, our workaholic accountant, needs a date to stop her family’s endless questioning, and who better than Reggie, an eccentric vampire with a love for bullet journaling? With silly twists, sweet fake-dating shenanigans, and endearing characters, My Vampire Plus-One is a lighthearted rom-com that’s perfect for anyone needing a fun, feel-good time. 🦇💕

The Sequel to My Roommate is a Vampire was better for me. I loved Reggie's character, his goofy and amiable personality made the book fun and light. The plot was easy to follow and enjoyed the fake dating trope. Reading the first in the series is not necessary but does help with side characters and overall development. Altogether the series so far is enjoyable and the perfect cozy fall read. I look forward to more writing by Jenna Levine.

Such a cute, fun, ridiculous romcom! I freaking love Reggie & can totally see how Amelia would assume the things he says are all jokes. Their dynamic is so entertaining and despite being a complete goof and also technically a *dangerous* vampire, Reggie is so soft and charming -- a complete cinnamon roll -- and it's sweet to see how he makes Amelia laugh and helps her break out of her serious accountant mold. And he LOVES that she's an accountant, like it boosts his attraction, and I just find that hilarious and adorable. The inclusion of excerpts from Reggie's bullet lists added to the humor and lightheartedness of the story and was a fun way to transition to different scenes. This one took miscommunication and made it a trope I actually enjoyed?? Unheard of. The overall layout of the book, the plot, and the writing are fantastic. The characters are easy to love and it's a very quick read that I truly enjoyed.

-vampire x human romance
-forced proximity
-fake dating
-miscommunication
-old fashioned vampire fugitive cinnamon roll MMC
-spice

I also loved that Frederick and Cassie are in this one and I'm hoping there will be a next book about Zelda because she sounds like she'd have a good story! If you're looking for a quick easy read that will have you laughing, this is definitely one to consider(:

Thank you Berkley & NetGalley for the digital ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Published September 17, 2024! Spooky season is here, so it's the perfect time to snuggle up with a cute creature romance(:

Reggie was a delightful addition to the first book in this series and it was fun to see him get his own story. I wasn’t expecting Amelia, but she was the perfect foil for the happy-go-lucky vampire. I fully enjoyed this series and can’t wait to see if there is another installment.

Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley for this ARC!!

IM A SUCKER FOR A VAMPIRE BOOK OKAY SUE ME?! This was just so fun from beginning to end - give me paranormal and I’m hooked but give me vampires and I’m a goner.

First - the cover? Hi. Let’s talk about it. Exceptional. Marvelous. Two tone. Wonder.

I’m a sucker for diary/letter entries (because it screams Dracula) so I was so happy to see that here. I’m usually a little iffy on fake dating plots but this was just pure fun. And I’m a huge fan of Amelia’s badass career driven spirit.

4.5 stars

- fake relationship
- vampire x human
- 🌶️🌶️/5

This was even better than the first book! Jenna Levine writes such charming characters and truly had me laughing out loud. There is just something so endearing about the vampires in her books, almost a naivete. And I knew that Reggie was going to be quirky and hilarious because of his appearances in the first book, but him falling for a type A account was just TOO perfect. Reggie was the perfect balance for someone like Amelia.

I also loved more of the dual POV in this book!!

I think the side plot was also better executed in this one than the first and I'm in love.

Reggie absolutely peaked my interest in the first book so I was excited for his story! And he was even better as the lead! I love Reggie. He is so eccentric and quirky and amazing. He’s like the hot vampire equivalent of Arthur Weasley with his joy in learning and all things human. Amelia is the most clueless person ever. I just didn’t get how oblivious she was to all things vampire, especially when Reggie was so upfront about it. But while the miscommunication frustrated me I still thought this book was cute and fun and a good spooky season read for those who don’t do scary stuff.

Huge thank you @berkleypub and @netgalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
.
Amelia feels proud of her life but her family feels something is missing. She’s sick of questions about her personal life so when a family wedding approaches she knows the only solution is a fake date which turns into a fake relationship which of course turns into a real relationship. This is a fun spooky take on fake dating !

My Vampires Book #2

When I found out there was a sequel coming out to a debut romance that I loved in 2023, I was so excited! And I was even happier to be invited to do a blog tour for this book by Berkley Romance!

My Vampire Plus-One has been out for less than a month, but of course a hurricane would keep me from getting to this book ASAP, but once I really got started on this book I was flying through it.

One thing to note is that I didn’t like this one as much as the first book. Amelia and Reggie’s story is still very enjoyable, but I really fell in love with Cassie and Frederick in the first book. And I love that we still get peaks into where they are in this book, although I am not sure how much time has passed between book one and this book.

Something I noticed across both books is that while these books are full of cheesy vampire shenanigans that are silly and fun, Jenna Levine really writes an amazing sex scene. The scene in this book was steamy, but I loved it. And Reggie is such a golden retriever character. I really liked that we got a deeper look at him with his own book. It did seem like the stakes in this book were a bit higher than the last, especially when we were getting to the climax of the book and guess what? No third act breakup!

If you’re looking for a chill paranormal romance for Halloween season, I recommend turning to this duology. Vampires for Halloween, but make it fun, cheesy, and romantic. Overall, I am giving this book 4 stars. I have no idea what Jenna Levine has in store for us next, but I will be there for it!
