Unfortunately for me this book didn't work. It read like a series of events that were kinda cohesive. I guess the funny parts should have been hundred years old vampire being quirky and not blending in. There was an opportunity to really do something fresh but the fake dating trope I think made the overall plot fall flat.

An accountant with a meddling family decides to bring a (fake) date to her cousins wedding, and he just so happens to be a vampire. It was silly, it was laughable, and at some points - quite steamy.
Amelia was a perfectly oblivious FMC while Reggie was as quirky and dorky as any 200+ year old vampire should be. His sense of humor hadn’t quite caught up with this century which made for hilarious dialogue between the two.
If you go into this one knowing it’s light hearted and not to be taken too seriously, you will absolutely enjoy it.

♥︎ Thank you NetGalley, Berkley Publishing/Berkley Romance, and Jenna Levine for the ARC of My Vampire Plus One!
After reading My Roommate is a Vampire last year, I fell in love with Jenna Levine’s humorous writing and quirky characters. We are introduced to Reggie in the first book so by the time I picked up My Vampire Plus-One I knew we were in for a treat. The world that Levine has created is so entertaining and I so enjoyed my time reading this contemporary vampire romcom.
Reggie is eccentric and lively (ironic since he is undead) and I thought his and Amelia’s story was pure fun. The two are opposite though and through. Where Reggie dons outrageous outfits and looks at life with flippant festivity, Amelia is buttoned-up and overworked, drowning in her role as an accountant. I loved the dual POV which gave us insight into both characters dispositions. Their opposite personalities balanced each other out and it was nice to see them flirt and let loose in their relationship.
In an attempt to get her family off her back, Amelia employs Reggie’s aid to pretend to be her boyfriend for her cousin’s upcoming wedding. The fake dating trope is one of my all-time favorites and I thought it was perfectly employed in this book. It allowed for some laugh-out-loud moments that only fake dating a vampire can provide. There were also hilarious interludes that included minutes from the Vampire Collective’s meetings and entries from Reggie’s bullet journal. I was rolling during many of these passages. Even in Levine’s paranormal world, centuries old vampires get stumped when it comes to sharing their feelings.
My Vampire Plus-One was such a blast! I hope we see more charming paranormal romances like it in the future. Many thanks to Berkley and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Vampire books that are also romcoms are hard to come by so I’m so glad that this author has brought another one into the world!
I read My Vampire Roommate last year where I was introduced to Reggie and honestly wasn’t quite sure if he would make a good MMC in his own book, but he surprised me! He is certainly as outrageous as expected but also had a lot of depth. He is so sweet to Amelia and you can’t help but be so glad they found each other! If I were Amelia I definitely would’ve had more questions about vampires but I guess that’s was part of her charm for Reggie.
Well written and witty, I’m hoping some more vampires can get a story from Jenna!
I really wanted to fall for this one, I absolutely adored My Roommate is a Vampire, but maybe because it had been a bit since I read the first one, or I just wasn't in the mood - I am a huge mood reader - this one just didn't hit for me and I ended up DNFing it. Hopefully people end up loving this one, and I hope to come back to it another day.
Thank you so much for the opportunity to read this ARC! x
First of all, Jenna Levine always knows how to make me freaking LAUGH. Ever since My Roommate is a Vampire, I’d been so excited to read more of this author’s work. The LOL vibes really make these books.
I adored everything about Reggie since MRIAV, and I adored him even more in his own book. AND we got his POV too?! THAT was an unexpected but hella welcome surprise. He’s a goofball with a great heart and a knack for making even the coldest of hearts melt.
Amelia was so unsure of herself because of the way people made her feel and I was so pleased to read about her journey to discovering her worth — Reggie helped but I loved how Jenna Levine wrote Amelia with a purpose of learning self love. She is such a strong character with a helluvan attitude I vibed with so hard. All in all, 5/5 — would recommend.
One-word review: Fun

Favorite Character: Reggie, a character who stands out with his unique traits, became my favorite. His zest for life and his ability to march to the beat of his own drum, not to mention his flying ability, make him a truly intriguing character.
My Top-Five-style Review:
5. I love how Levine continued this series and told Reginald's (Reggie)story. I had so much fun getting to know him better and learning more about Fredrick and Cassie from book one, My Roommate is a Vampire.
4. The fake dating trope is one of my favorites, and it‘s done to perfection in this paranormal romcom.
3. While My Vampire Plus-One is not a steamy read overall, it does have one open-door steamy sexy scene. This scene is tastefully written and adds a dash of spice to the otherwise light and fun narrative. The rest of the book is a delightful, campy, and quirky love story.
2. The romance in this book is not just any romance, it's fun, flirty, and entertaining. Reggie and Amelia's relationship, despite their differences, is a joy to watch as it blossoms.
1. Sometimes, all you need is a book that can whisk you away, make you laugh, and fill your heart with love. My Vampire Plus-One is a delightful, light-hearted read that does all this and more.
Jenna Levine just knows how to write a book that's a rockin' good time. I really enjoyed my time with this one. Reggie is my fav, I love his so much. Amelia was a fantastic FMC. Overall, it was such a charming and quirky romance - a perfect fall read!
There were more than a few errors I encountered with the digital ARC (ex. weirdly written sentences, some missing punctuation marks, etc.). I hope that those were revised and edited before final copies were printed.
I really liked the first book in this series and I loved My Vampire Plus-One even more. Both of the characters were delightful and I loved their story and their romance! Absolutely will read anything Jenna Levine releases next.
Another great read from Jenna Levine! It did feel like the conflict wrapped up a little quickly/easily, but that didn't detract from all the fun of the rest of the book or the chemistry between Reggie and Amelia. It was also great to see Frederick and Cassie again! I really hope there will be a continuation of this series, but I'll read anything Levine puts out.
I didn’t love this one quite as much as book 1, but I still had such a good time💖 it’s sweet, it’s cheesy, it’s funny, and the perfect read for spooky season!
When I read "My Roommate is a Vampire" I absolutely fell in love with Reginald, so I was looking forward to reading his book. This book was hilarious and perfect in every way. As a girlie that also has dietary restrictions i think it was sooo cute that Reggie goes out of his way to try and learn what she can/can't eat and also that Reggie goes out in the middle of a snow storm just to make sure she would have enough food options to eat while they were trapped. This book is such a perfect cozy/fall read. It had me giggling out loud and was such a fun time. Before I started reading this book I was suffering from a book slump and this book definitely cured me!
The writing style kept me engaged and it’s silly and wacky and generally fun. The fake dating part of it was super fun and it’s always been a favorite set up of mine. The fmc’s obsession with work got a little tired but Frederick really pulled her out of her shell, which I loved.
But cannot get down with a lying/workaholic mc. I felt like I couldn’t really connect with the two main characters, which is a shame because I love a paranormal rom com.
Thank you berkley romance and Netgalley for an arc!
I loved the first book in Jenna Levine’s paranormal rom-com series, My Vampires. so I couldn’t wait to dive into this new book, especially since it features Reginald (aka Reggie). Reggie was so hilariously annoying in the first book that I couldn’t wait to see how the author would turn him into someone’s love interest. This is also a fake dating story and if you’ve followed me for a while, you know I love a good fake dating story.
Amelia is a successful accountant, but all her family can focus on is that she’s still single with no prospects in sight. When Amelia literally runs into Reggie, who is on the run from a vigilante group for some past misdeeds he is accused of, Amelia decides that the charming Reggie is the perfect guy to get her family off her back.
Reggie is even more hilarious in this book than he was in the first one. With his eccentric wardrobe and his flair for bullet journaling, Reggie is definitely not what you normally think of when you think of vampires. In addition to him being so funny, I also really appreciated how honest he is. He flat out tells Amelia on more than one occasion that he is a vampire and she thinks he’s just kidding with her. I would also classify this as a “he fell first” romance because Reggie has it bad for Amelia right from the start and it was so sweet reading his journal entries about her.
Everything about this book is just so cute and fun! I loved both characters, their chemistry, and was constantly entertained by the hilarious situations they found themselves in.
If you’re looking for some spooky season reads that are fun and light-hearted with a bit of spicy romance, you can’t go wrong with this series.
This is book 2 in the My Vampires series but can completely stand on its own. I absolutely loved the first book and loved this one just as much, maybe even more.
The characters are fantastic, and watching Amelia and Reginald work through their misunderstanding where Reginald confesses he's a vampire and Amelia thinks it's in jest is just hilarious.
This one is too good to miss!
This was another HILARIOUS vampire romcom that sees grumpy accountant Amelia fake dating her vampire client Reggie to get her meddling matchmaking family off her back. Buckle up for TONS of laughs, lots of SPICE, a clueless, sunshine cinnamon roll MMC, an accountant who saves the day and cameos from Cassie and Frederick. This was great on audio and can be read as a standalone. HIGHLY recommended for #SpookySeason reading. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital copy and @prhaudio for a complimentary ALC in exchange for my honest review!

My Vampire Plus-One is the cutest fall romance and you need to grab it now. I loved My Roommate is a Vampire and Jenna’s second book did not disappoint in the slightest.
Reggie and Amelia are absolutely adorable. Reggie will do ANYTHING to make this woman happy. He loves nothing more than to make her laugh. He makes it his mission to make sure she has food to eat (she’s a pescatarian). She cares so deeply for him and uses her analytical mind to make sure he is safe. Their time at the cabin! Ah? My heart. I was smiling, giggling, kicking my feet the WHOLE time while reading this book.
I loved all of the Cassie/Frederick cameos in this book. They’re one of my favorite couples so I loved being able to see them so much.
Cassie’s dad is so silly. I love his interactions with Reggie.
Also, loved all of the excerpts! Emails, texts, books, newspapers. It was perfect.
AND THE BULLET JOURNAL ENTIRES!! THEY ARE EVERYTHING!!!
My Vampire Plus-One is a quirky, steamy, rom-com that will have you kicking your feet and giggling in public, realize you’re giggling and kicking your feet like a psycho, finally ending with you straight-faced with an escaped smirk at the end.
It was a cute meet greet. There was a I know but you don't know about a few things between Amelia's learning that Reggie was a vampire and how she thought he was joking at first. I could see the IRS firm vampire twist coming a mile away. It was pretty well pointed out for the reader. I enjoyed it.
This was such a cute follow up to My Roommate is a Vampire which I completely adored! The two books in this interconnected standalone series are not only funny and flirty, but full of heart and real-world issues.
Here are some of the specific things I really loved about this book:
1. I loved the tax accountant rep we saw in our FMC Amelia. As a fellow tax accountant, I loved that she was seen in a good light rather than the typical nerdy accountant who no one likes schtick we tend to see in books. I also freaking LOVED how her knowledge and the tax code were very important in this story 😉
2. Reggie was hilarious, adorable, and super sexy all at once! The fact that this man just wanted to make her laugh, make her pancakes, and still would go feral over anyone who disrespected her, he really hit on all my favorite things in an MMC. He reminds me of my husband, so there’s also that!
3. I loved the bits we saw of Frederick and Cassie! I love when we get to revisit old favorites in new books in an interconnected standalone series. It was so nice catching up with them and…everything that was going on in their lives! I can’t wait to see what each of the couples get into going forward if there is a next book.
4. This story was downright hilarious! Not just in the interactions between our FMC and MMC, but in little things like how Reggie dressed, how Reggie texted, Amelia and her friend Sophie’s conversations, and Amelia’s conversations with herself. Definitely a rom-com in my opinion!
5. I liked the storyline weaved in the background about The Collective. It was interesting to watch all the pieces come together, and even more interesting to “meet” a new character who I suspect will be getting to claim the lead in book 3 if there is one!
Overall, a great read for those who like their vampire love stories funny and flirty.
Thank you to NetGalley, Berkley Publishing Group, and Jenna Levine for the opportunity to read a copy of this book. The thoughts and opinions expressed above are honest and my own.
Rating: 4.5/5 stars
When Amelia accidentally lies to her family about having a boyfriend, she recruits vampire Reggie to be her fake date to her cousin’s wedding events.
Fake dating is absolute catnip to me, and this book is campy and fun and tender and sweet and everything you want in a lighthearted romcom. Reggie is a superstar and a character so deeply full of life (which is irony in its best form) and he truly brings out the best in Amelia while also caring for her and loving her just how she is. Amelia is an uptight nerd I can absolutely relate to so much, and watching her learn to leap without a net was a refreshingly joyful experience.
I also loved seeing glimpses of Frederick and Cassie throughout, and appreciated how well this world came together. I really hope that we get more in this universe in the future!
CW: Mild violence; blood; mentions of past infidelity
