Loved Reggie so much from the first book and was so excited to learn that we were getting a book just for him!! The premise of this fake dating/strangers to friends to lovers was so much fun on top of being an easy read for spooky season.

Loved how sweet and supportive Reggie was throughout the whole story! An unapologetically himself golden retriever MMC you can’t help but fall in love with.

Read if you like:
🤭 fake dating
🌶️ mild spice (2/5)
🫶🏼 scenes with characters from book one
😌 strangers to friends to lovers
🌨️ being snowed in
🛏️ one bed
🧛‍♂️ vampires
🩸 biting kink

For a second book in the series, I was hesitant to start reading because while I did enjoy the first book - I wasn't sure I would like the characters in this one. Boy was I wrong. Repeat character Reginald Cleaves (Reggie) was written as unlikeable and annoying in the first book, but the author turned that perception around, and I found myself wanting to meet him in real life. I also don't typically read romance books but found myself enjoying the slow burn romance and the tension between the characters.

This was a 4-star read for me because I loved the paranormal and cozy love story, and the cheesy happy ending.

Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing Group for this ARC!

The sequel to My roommate is a Vampire, My Vampire Plus-One is an adorable romcom. It's quirky, centuries old vampire was so endearing to Amelia, as he was totally smitten. His commitment to his bullet journal was also so darn cute!

Throughly enjoyed the following:
Cast of characters
Slow-burn romance
Vampire x Human
Fake dating
Forced Proximity
Opposites attract
Open door

Laura’s Rating: ⭐️ ⭐ ⭐️ ⭐️ 💫
Steam: 🔥 🔥

📚 Format: e-arc
⏳ Length: 400 pages

💖 Tropes: Paranormal romcom, fake dating, opposites attract, slow burn

✨ Main Characters
FMC: Amelia
MMC: Reggie

👍 What I liked:
Lols on lols on lols
General quirkiness
FMC confidence gains
Frederick & Cassie cameos
Everything about Reggie (definite MMC Brunchie nom!!)
Author’s writing style + additional notes, journal entries, minutes

👎 What I missed:
A little more depth and stakes (no pun intended)

💭 Final thoughts:
This was a fun take on a miscommunication trope! I loved how totally and COMPLETELY opposite the MCs were, yet they were both so accepting and adoring of each other. This was such an entertaining read – from characters, love story, hijinks, Frederick and Reggie’s dynamic, bumbling bad guys, and additional content the author sprinkles throughout. She even manages to make accounting and taxes into a semi-interesting superpower. Which is a superpower in and of itself in my book.

👩🏻‍⚖️ Verdict: Do yourself a favor and add this to the top of your TBR!!

This was so fun! I loved and adored the first book so I was beyond excited that Reggie got his own book. It was steamy, fun and fangtastic!
I didn't love it as much as the first one but it was a good, fun time and I hope she continues on in this fun vampire series!

Thank you for the free book @berkleyromance!! #penguinrandomhousepartner #berkleyIG #BerkleyBookstagram. Thank you for the free audiobook @prhaudio!!

This book comes out tomorrow and for the vampire lovers out there, grab a copy!!!

Tbh, I don’t think I’m into the dark vampire aesthetics anymore (i did love it years agooo). My kind of vampire reads now are of the cozy romcom version and probably why I enjoyed this book even if my vampire era had been over. 😂

This is a sequel to the first book (that I also loved), the characters are interconnected BUT you dont have to read the first book to understand the second one but I suggest you do because My Roommate is a Vampire was fun too!

When I read the first book, Ive always thought the male lead’s bestie would be a great male lead too and I got so excited when I found out that the next book was going to be about him!!!

To all the brainy girls out there ( especially accountant women) — this book is a shoutout to you!! 💗 and get you a guy who would do grocery runs for you no matter what the weather is like 😅

Basically our main plot is that our female lead (who’s been single for too long as per her family) was set to find a man that could be her plus one to a cousin’s wedding! Enter our male lead who needs a new “disguise” as he tries to avoid a group of vampires that wants to unalive him. That’s pretty much the plot.

I really enjoyed this one guys! I love the use of humor with the vampire/ human pairing and the use of age gap romance (because he’s obviously 200+ years old😅)

I love the wedding trope, the fake dating, and you know what got me real excited was when they went for the family getaway and they got snowed in! You guys know I’m a sucker for a good snowed in book! 😂

Highly recommend to your TBR this Halloween season!!!

💭 Where would you prefer to be snowed in??
☕️ I would say a cabin for the vibes but maybe a hotel would be more practical 😅

This book was cute and fun. Just what I expect from this interconnected series. I was getting some second hand embarrassment for Reggie during parts of the book but also Amelia at the same time. The whole miscommunication trope usually isn’t my thing but I think it was played off quirky and well in this book.

I am hoping there will be more in this little interconnected series she has started but bother this one and My Roommate is a Vampire work really well together.

My vampire plus one by Jenna Levine, when Amelia Collins runs in to Reginald Cleeves outside of her work and basically saves his life, he says he owes her soon she’s going to want him to pay her back by pretending to be her fake date at her cousins wedding. I love these books and think Jenna Levine is a genius. In Cassie and Fredericks book, it was notes we got to read between the two. In this one we get text messages and segments of his bullet journal which I thought was hilarious. I also love when he tried to tell her he was a vampire and she thought he was joking so she played along and he was amazed at how well she took it… That was so funny, this whole book is hilarious I love these books and cannot wait for the next one. The only question is who will it be? I do want to say there is some explicit sex in the book but it’s not a lot and it’s totally apropos to the story being told and not just sex for sex sake. Nor is it told in great detail. Once again I want to say I absolutely love these books and love that we got to see the characters from the previous book in this one. Theres just nothing not to love about these books. I absolutely loved it. #NetGalley, #BerkeleyPublishing,#JennaLevine, #MyVampirePlusOne,

Hello Book friends!

Today I’m reviewing My Vampire Plus-One by Jenna Levine. In this paranormal romance, we follow successful accountant Amelia Collins, who is very good at her job, but has had enough of her family trying to convince her she needs a romantic partner. Plus, Amelia is a softy and hasn’t quite figured out how to set boundaries with her parents match making schemes. But when an invitation to a wedding arrives, Amelia needs to figure out her Plus-One before her parents suggest one for her.

Book friends, I am so excited to be part of the blog tour for Jenna Levine’s latest paranormal novel My Vampire Plus-One.

What a treat this book is!

I loved the chemistry between Amelia and Regi, their meet cute, and everything that follows their first bump in. It’s filled with all the fun tropes romance readers adore: fake dating, he falls first (swoon), forced proximity among other fan favorites.

Plus VAMPIRES! It’s all wrapped together with heart-warming, feel good, hilarious moments that make this a book not to be missed.

If you enjoy paranormal romances with some spice and a side of belly laughs you need My Vampire Plus-One in your life.

This author hasn't let me down yet. This is my second book by her and the second book in this series. The quirky characters make it so much better for me. This was just enjoyable to read. I will say that if you haven't read the first, you probably should. While it doesnt change much for this story and it's characters, it will make it easier to understand.

A must-read for the Fall spooky season!

If you've read My Roommate Is A Vampire, you already know the kind of hilarious chaos that awaits in this story. I loved this one even more, possibly because of the already familiar faces and the fact that the MMC is an adorable cinnamon roll, which I didn't think was possible.

This book had me laughing so hard my cheeks hurt, and the audiobook was an absolute joy. Just a heads-up, avoid reading it in public unless you're ready to deal with random outbursts of laughter.

Halfway through reading, I realized I was wearing my Twilight shirt, which made all the clever Twi-references even more fun. I couldn't have loved it more!

This was really fun. Levine's writing shines with sharp dialogue and well-paced character interactions. The central romance develops satisfyingly, and the author skillfully balances supernatural elements with relatable, everyday concerns. However, the novel occasionally relies on familiar tropes, and secondary characters lack depth. The world-building, while interesting, could have been more comprehensively explored.

A standout aspect is the clever integration of mundane worries into vampire life. And honestly, I completely understand. I, too, am deathly afraid of the IRS. This humorous approach adds a layer of relatability to the story. While not groundbreaking, "My Vampire Plus-One" was really enjoyable and will be great for fans of paranormal romance seeking a light-hearted escape with a touch of humor. Perfect if you enjoy hyperactive golden retrievers and women that stand on business.

Amelia needs a date for her cousin’s upcoming wedding. She’s worked hard to get to where she is in life with a career she loves (an accountant) and she isn’t searching for romance. However, she’s tired of the pitying glances and fielding her family’s questions about why she’s still single. An unexpected run in with Reginald Cleaves provides the perfect solution.

Reginald is running from The Collective, a vigilante vampire organization hunting him for a century old crime. He runs into Amelia, and she provides him a cover. Her proposition to play her boyfriend in all the events leading up to her cousin’s wedding is no imposition since he’s already fascinated by the organized and stunning CPA!

Reginald was a character! He cracked me up! Amelia was a sweetheart, too, and I loved these two together. I had to laugh at some of her cluelessness regarding the whole vampire thing. Loved the interactions between Amelia’s dad and Reggie.

My Vampire Plus-One was whacky and fun with a bit of danger, adding a bit of excitement! A pure delight!

3.75stars-MY VAMPIRE PLUS-ONE is the second instalment in Jenna Levine’s contemporary, adult MY VAMPIRES erotic, paranormal, romance series. This is CPA Amelia Collins, and vampire Reginald Cleaves’ story line. MY VAMPIRE PLUS-ONE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Reginald and Amelia) MY VAMPIRE PLUS-ONE follows the fake relationship between CPA Amelia Collins, and vampire Reginald Cleaves’. Reginal Cleaves is a vampire, almost three-hundred years old, and is the target of an organization known as The Collective, for sins of the past. Amelia Collins is a CPA, leads a quiet, unassuming life until she meets stranger, with eccentric taste in clothes. Needing a plus-one for her cousin’s wedding, Amelia is desperate until she reconnects with said stranger. Enter Reginald Cleaves, the man with whom Amelia will fall in love. Entering into a fake-relationship to keep her parents and family at bay, Amelia finds herself falling for a man whose idiosyncrasies are getting stranger by the minute. A snow storm, a new client at work, and the revelation of Reginald’s true identity push Amelia to her limits until she discovers the identity of the people taking aim at the man with whom she is falling in love. What ensues is the building but fake-relationship between Amelia and Reginald, and the potential fall-out as the group targeting Reginald are closer than anyone suspected.

The world building follows the fake relationship between our story line couple as Reginald traverses a world in which he struggles to fit in. Flamboyant, and eccentric, Reginald is a bit of an enigma but the perfect foil for our story line heroine. As The Collective take aim at our story line hero, Amelia enacts a plan to save the vampire who calls to her heart.

The relationship between Amelia and Reginald begins by accident. Pretending to be boyfriend and girlfriend, Amelia and Reginald must face Amelia’s family, and Reginald’s friend Frederick who is currently dating Amelia’s brother’s friend Cassie. But when their fake relationship turns into something more, Amelia must come to terms with the reality of who and what is Reginald Cleaves. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate but I dislike the use of a certain four-letter word.

The secondary and supporting characters are colorful and energetic. We are introduced to Amelia’s family and extended family; accounting clients, fellow employees, as well as the return of Frederick and Cassie.

MY VAMPIRE PLUS-ONE is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, family and relationships, acceptance and love. The premise entertaining and enchanting; the romance is spicy; the characters are animated and honest.

I LOVE this series, and I adore both Amelia and Reggie. Especially Reggie. Gotta love an accountant heroine, and Reggie is simply perfection. I really love everything about this cute story. Reggie is an example of why I love vampires. The entire story is sexy, funny, and a whole lot of fun.

I think there are some things to really like about this book, but I do find that I'm just generally not a huge fan of the way vampires are portrayed in this series

I was so excited to read MVPO; after reading the first book, I was dying to see Reginald (Reggie) as the main character in his own story. Once again, Jenna Levine makes a wonderful fall vampire rom-com to break up spookier reads.

I loved Reggie and Amelia together. They were cute and funny. I especially loved seeing Reggie discover Bullet Journaling and Discord (as I love and use both of these things).

Very light heat, this is a "book with spice" 1/5 🌶️ more than a "spicy book."

I would recommend it if you like fake dating, forced proximity, one bed (ish), and some miscommunication.

Thank you, NetGalley and Berkley Publishing Group, for providing me with this ARC.

Thank you so much @netgalley for the ARC of My Vampire Plus One!
This book follows Reginald, who we already knew from My Roommate is a Vampire, and Amelia, an accountant.
Amelia is such a kind and strong character. I love how she tries to do what's best for everyone z especially her family, e even though they don't always put that effort in. I feel kinda bad for her. I always hate it when families are pushy about people dating, saying you've been single for too long or that you're getting too old to find someone. It's not your business! Not everyone wants to date. Sometimes you have to let things happen instead of forcing yourself to go on dates
She's also clearly not the favorite child. Her brother Sam is the favorite. Their parents are super proud of him being a lawyer and hardly care about their daughter being an accountant.
Her family won't even bother to make sure there's food Amelia can eat due to her dietary restrictions.
I'm not saying they don't love her and that they don't care about her happiness, but they don't put in the work. They don't pay attention to her needs.
Which is what makes her relationship with Reggie even better. He always takes care of her, always prioritizes her, even if he's not sure she feels the same. He's been so lonely for centuries and he finally finds his soulmate. He never pressures her into the relationship or into choosing to become a vampire. He's pacient with her.
I love their dynamic and how they help each other solve their problems.
This book also includes some very interesting cameos for fans of the first book ;)

Tw: biting, sexual content, attempted murder.

LOVE love love! A literal run-in meet cute that was hilarious. A quirky and completely sweet vampire and a smart, determined accountant. What a perfect couple. I loved this fake dating troupe and the misunderstand was handled so well and was kind of even funny without being frustrating. There was instant banter and chemistry and the spice was spiiiiiicy. A perfect light vampire romance with tax law saving the day?! Yes please!

Reginald Cleaves is hiding from a vampire organization known as the Collective. He is being accused of starting a fire over 100 years ago that killed several vampires. He runs into Amelia Collins, an accountant, who is searching for someone to pose as her boyfriend; she needs a plus one for her cousin's wedding. What will Amelia do when she learns the truth about Reggie?

I liked this book better than the first one in the series. However, it still felt like it was missing something. The characters just felt too over the top and cliché. Reggie was entertaining, but his energy was too similar to a golden retriever to take him seriously. I didn't mind the camp in this book, but I wanted a little more angst and spice. This book can be read as a standalone.
