So many unexpected twists and turns. After a horrible accident that kills Eve's boyfriend she is left pregnant and alone. Broke and with no one to turn to Eve is offered a nanny job with a very wealthy family. If a job sounds too good to be true, it often is. How much will Eve lose to try to provide the best future for her child?

Eve Sanders finds herself pregnant, loses her boyfriend in an auto accident and is rejected by his family. With no family of her own she is not sure what to do until she is approached by a representative of the Hygates. They would like to hire her as a nanny. She travels to the secluded island where Julia and Christopher Hygate have their estate for an interview, where she makes a disturbing discovery. There is no child to care for. What they propose is that Eve give her child to them when it is born and remain as the child’s nanny. Julia is unable to have children and this presents a solution for everyone. Eve is reluctant, but given the advantages that her child would have she agrees. She is confined to the guest house to hide her growing pregnancy from the servants and local villagers. Julia also begins to wear the padding necessary to complete the deception. Soon after the child’s birth the story jumps six years as Eve is still the nanny. It has been hard to watch her son grow up as a Hygate and she wants her son back. While she has suspicions regarding the Hygates’ activities, the lies begin to come out. Christopher’s business hides a trade in illegal animals and human trafficking. Eve’s discoveries put her in danger and she must fight to protect herself and her child, but there is an even bigger and more devastating lie that will change her life.

Eve is rather naive and ignores red flags that are glaringly obvious. While Julia is all smiles, she seems rather shallow and Christopher makes only occasional appearances to threaten Eve. While the story drags slightly in the middle, Rose Carlyle hits you with an ending that will have you holding your breath as she ramps up the tension. There are a number of twists that made this an entertaining read. I would like to thank NetGalley and William Morrow for providing this book.

Eve, desperate and pregnant, is inveigled into a job on a remote island, as nanny - for her own baby.

Eve learns that her employers are involved in murky dealings and decides she wants to leave with her child.

Her long road to achieve this - with many twists and turns, and great peril - pulls reader interest through the story.

This is one of those wild fantastical thrillers that you just want to keep reading, even though it's completely preposterous!

Eve finds out she's pregnant after she's lost her wealthy boyfriend in an accident. His family wants nothing to do with her, so she's adrift. She finds herself recruited by a wealthy couple, the Hygates, to be their nanny in a remote island location. She soon realizes, however, that they don't have a child: they want hers. They offer Eve the opportunity to raise her own child in utter luxury in return for adopting it.

Now, is Eve naive for not seeing a million red flags about this situation? Yes. The story is silly and crazy, but shines in its focus on Eve's determination and a mother's love for her child. The characters are dark, the remote setting is fun, and it's just an all-around good page turner/escape, if you can set aside your need for a believable story.

Julia and Christopher Hygate are a high powered very successful couple. Living on a remote island, they have plenty of money and plenty more secrets! Eve Sylvester, is rather down and out at the moment, devastated by her fiancé’s sudden death, pregnant and with no living relatives, she’s not sure what her next move is. When approached by an employee of the Hygate’s,she makes a trip to the island to see what their offer of employment might entail. The offer comes with strings, strings that Eve is unsure she wants to embrace, but she has nowhere else to turn. As things become more and more bizarre on the island, Eve isn’t sure where to turn or if she’ll even survive. While entertaining, the plot was totally implausible and by the end had me shaking my head! Thank you to HarperCollins and NetGalley for an ARC of this book.

This is the type of book you have to just go with the flow on, you can't analyze too much or it will leave you aggravated. Overall, this book is a great story. I did feel like Eve came off as a little bit out of touch, like there were things she should have picked up on way sooner. The story is unhinged and has a beautiful setting.

There's naive and then there's this blatantly dumb main character. While the expectation started fairly low, this plot turned out to be even more outlandish than I imagined and ended with me wishing I could get my time back to read something more satisfying. Twist at the end? Yes, but twist to put this back on the shelf because it just isn't worth it.

Just when I thought No One Will Know couldn't get any twistier, it did. Right up until the very last sentence,,,"No one will know." Did I get all the answers I wanted from the ending? No. Did I care? Also no, because I was so entertained by the lies and deceptions that it didn't matter. I thoroughly enjoyed this addictive thriller. With Girl in the Mirror and now this book, Rose Carlyle has become a must-read author.

This story starts off fast. Where we begin doesn’t seem like anything that is listed in the synopsis, but we get to the crux of the book quickly. The suspense is immediate, and you can definitely say this novel is action packed. So many things happen in rapid fire succession, and the intensity stays high throughout. Most of the time, I liked where the plot was headed. There were a few turns that I didn’t see coming.

The writing, however feels abrupt. There’s little to no nuance or flow, especially the dialogue. Besides Zelde, the characters don’t seem to have individual personalities. I think this is because so much happens and we’re constantly ping-ponging from scene to scene that nothing seems to have the time to really develop.

I would have enjoyed this book more if I could have really sat with the characters and the story, learning to feel for Eve and her situation a little better.

I read The Girl in the Mirror a few years ago and really enjoyed it - this one was enjoyable still, but I liked slightly less than that one. I truly don’t mind far-fetched ridiculous storylines when they’re done right but unfortunately, I feel like this one was just way too impossible to believe.

It was still a fun ride regardless and I flew through it so that definitely says something.

3.5 stars rounded up. This was like a Lifetime movie in book form. It was one of the most ridiculous stories I've read recently, but it was entertaining when I stopped taking it seriously. I didn't really like any of the characters in this one, but I was still anxious to see what would happen to the heroine. All in all, I'd say it's the kind of thriller that's fast and fun as long as you don't think about it too much.

I read an ARC of this book from NetGalley. All comments are my own.

*No One Will Know* is an entertaining thriller, but it left me with mixed feelings—3 stars. The premise is intriguing, but the story’s execution stretched believability at times. Eve accepting a job from a stranger in a cemetery felt absurd, even for a suspense novel, and the level of secrecy surrounding the Hygates’ island was frustratingly over the top. The subplot with the lizards felt unnecessary and didn’t add much to the story. While the tension builds well, Julia and Chris are so insufferable it’s hard to care about their motives or plans. Still, the isolated island setting and twists keep the story moving, making it a decent, if slightly frustrating, read.

After a whirl wind romance, just as Eve discovers she’s pregnant, the father of her child is killed. With no family and no home of her own, she’s not sure how she will cope. When an offer drops in her lap to become the live in nanny for the mega-rich Hygate Family at their island estate, she believes all her problems are solved. Until she discovers that it's an offer that is too good to be true. With a story full of lies and deceit in an idyllic setting, it’s a quick, fun read that will keep you entertained until the very end.

Rose Carlyle's latest release will have readers flipping through the pages as the twists and turns collide in No One Will Know. Eve is heartbroken, pregnant and nearly broke. After a tragic accident kills her new fiance (a whirlwind romance with a wealthy heir sowing his wild oats) and his family shuns her, Eve meets enigmatic and charming couple Julia and Christopher. Wealthy beyond imagination and living on a remote private island, they desperately want Eve to be their nanny. Eve, who has no experience with children outside of her pregnancy, no family left and no real ties to speak of, cautiously accepts this offer and is drawn in to their world. Yet, Eve should have questioned their motives (much like the readers will) further. When dark truths emerge and with her and her child's life at risk, Eve has to fight the sinister network of wealth, influence and dangerous connections or lose everything. Carlyle has created a unique thriller readers will surely enjoy!

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest feedback.

This psychological thriller was a solid read. I enjoyed the characters, especially Eve, and thought the plot line was interesting. The storyline jumps a few months and then years at a time, which may be hard to follow for some. I found myself wanting details that weren’t there, and finding others to be irrelevant. The beginning of the book was enticing, around the middle I found myself bored, and then the end was packed full of action and plot twists.

Over all I’d recommend it as an entertaining read for your TBR!

Never underestimate a mother’s love…

Eve is pregnant & doesn’t have the support system she needs, so when an opportunity to nanny for a wealthy couple is handed to her she decides it’s the best possible situation for her & her baby. But once she makes it to their remote Tasmanian island home, things are stranger than she anticipated…

This book went a little darker than I was expecting it to, but props to the author because I was definitely surprised by the many intricate layers of deception gradually unraveled throughout this story. The depths of greed & lengths people are willing to go to are both explored, & I loved the way the ocean played a role (also that cover is gorgeous!). The author’s first work has been on my TBR list for awhile & I definitely need to get to it soon.

Thank you to NetGalley & William Morrow for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Many thanks to Netgalley and William Marrow for this arc. I received this book in exchange for my honest review. My thoughts are entirely my own.

In this book we meet Eve who meets the love of her life on a yacht and once they return home she finds out that she is pregnant and then the father of her child dies in a car accident when they go to meet his rich family and to tell them about their relationship and pregnancy. Eve’s baby daddy’s family wants nothing to do with her and tells her to leave the apartment that the owned that they were staying at. Eve meets Julia and Chris who cannot have children of their own so Eve stays with them and ends up giving them the child and work for them as a nanny to her own child. Eve believes she is carrying a girl but at the birth they say it’s a boy. Five years pass and Eve is a nanny to Alec and on her birthday the yacht they are own explodes and Eve learns that she actually had a daughter that the Hygates gave to a smuggler instead of Alec. Eve stops the Hygates and the smuggler and gets her daughter back and adopts Alec. Zelde the nurse who took care of Eve and Julia during their pregnancies thinks she may have switched the babies but doesn’t know for sure but nobody will ever know, hince the title of the book. So many tricks and turns that I couldn’t stop reading.

In case anyone is checking in on me…

I just screamed, kissed my kindle and then did a little twirl.

Then I dove into No One Will Know, pushing all priorities aside.

After about 3 hours in I had a full bladder and a pulse that could qualify for an ER visit. I skipped the toilet and kept on going.

The anxiety! My goodness, Carlyle!

Trust?
Non-existent.
I will never trust another soul ever again.

Carlyle, took a machete to my soul and didn’t once let me catch my breath. God, I love this little lady.

It’s literally impossible to connect these dots and when it all comes together you’ll have the ultimate shock factor.

They’re the perfect couple. They have the perfect plan. All they need is the perfect victim.

Julia and Christopher Hygate have the picture-perfect life: gobs of money thanks to their lucrative shipping enterprise and an estate on a secluded island.

When they meet Eve Sylvester, they know she is the exact person they should hire to be their child's nanny. Eve doesn’t have any living relatives, she’s lost touch with her friends, and her partner is out of the picture. Best of all, she’s expecting a baby.

Eve thinks she’s landed the greatest gig—previously desperate and penniless, now she’ll live like a queen and have a promising future for her daughter.

But the job seems too good to be true. Why would the Hygates hire Eve if she has no prior nannying experience? Why must Eve stay out of sight? And what’s with the mysterious yachts coming in and out of the Hygates' private marina?

It's too late to ask questions, though, Eve is already in far too deep.

Set against the backdrop of a remote island, an endless stream of secrets, and unbelievable wealth, No One Will Know is a propulsive, seductive novel of suspense that shows the terrible consequences of shocking greed, staggering lies, and fatal mistakes.
