Shiesty parents and a jejune nanny stir up trouble in an isolated haunt- if you like that trope you will love this

I had the pleasure of reading this book provided by @NetGalley and @williammorrowbooks. No One Will Know was a suspenseful read that kept you guessing. Something sketchy was going on but you couldn’t quite put your finger on it until the end. Definitely recommend reading this thriller. Would be a good summer read since it is based around an island.

Eve is alone and pregnant when she is approached to be a nanny for a family on a remote island. Eve is stunned and excited to get a job that will solve all her problems. Sound too good to be true? Of course it is.

My thoughts:
Farfetched and then some
naive main character
mysterious surroundings and people
A good book overall, but too far out there to be believable.

3.5 stars from me

Thanks to netgalley and William Morrow for the arc.

3.5⭐️ Thank you to NetGalley and William Morrow for an advanced copy of No One Will Know.

Eve is approached by a strange woman about becoming a nanny for a very wealthy couple. Eve finds it odd but she is struggling after the tragic death of her boyfriend Xander and finding out that she is pregnant with his child. She is alone and has no money so she decides to go see about the job. The mansion is huge but there are no other homes around and she gets unsettled but she meets the couple Chris and Julia and they seem nice. Until they tell her that they cannot have children and want to adopt her baby but keep her on as the nanny. She is stunned but wants a good life for her child so she agrees. But over the years she is there things start to not add up. She is determined to find out the truth.

This book had a lot going on and I would definitely check the trigger warnings. Some of this book seemed pretty far fetched and unbelievable. I will say that it does keep you guessing until the very last page.

ARC REVIEW-
Publishing Date- 10/1/2024
My Rating- 3.85- 4 Stars

This book had me on the edge of my seat. It’s not perfect but the vibes were vibing.

The Plot-
Eve, is struck with a terrible tragedy and has no family or close friends in her life to turn to. She thinks her luck may have changed when she is offered a job as a nanny with a mysterious family on a remote, luxurious island!🏝️ Of course Eve accepts the offer and once she is there, she realized she in over her head.

Content Warnings-
🔅Child Trafficking
🔅infertility
🔅Miscarriage
🔅Gun Violence

My Thoughts-
This was a highly entertaining and bingeable read. So over the top but ride was so fun. The characters were untrustworthy and the plot twist I DID NOT see coming. I had to put down the book and stare at the wall because I was so perplexed. The main character Eve was so DUMB tho. She was getting on my nerves. Like how are you that gullible? BUT she did make up for it at the end.

This thriller is kinda of a slow burn. There were some chapters that dragged out but overall a fast pace thriller. I definitely recommend this book.

This book was a quick read with a unique plot… but it’s quite far-fetched and tries to do too much in my opinion. The characters are unlikeable and Eve (the MC) is an idiot.

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this ARC in exchange for an honest opinion.

another bingeable thriller from Carlyle! I went into this one blind and i feel like that’s the best way to go - it starts with some bizarre incidents but then when we get about 20% in the main plot of the story changes completely. It was a fun ride and I can’t believe I didn’t see the main twist coming! although (maybe a minor spoiler) I was kind of disappointed we never circled back to the events of the book’s opening, so I guess everything there was just as it seemed?

I received a free copy of, No One Will Know, by Rose Carlyle, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Eve is pregnant and alone, she thinks she has the perfect answer when Julie and Christopher want her to be their babies nanny. I did not care for this book at all, Julie and Christopher are horrible people.

Thanks to the author, publisher and Net Galley for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
A deliciously twisty and suspenseful novel from the #1 internationally bestselling author of The Girl in the Mirror, about a desperate young woman and the manipulative wealthy couple who will stop at nothing to ensure their worst nightmare becomes a dream come true.
Rose Carlyle has done it again. Girl in the Mirror was one of my favorite books when it came out in 2020. I was so excited to read No One Will Know and it did not disappoint. I devoured it in just a few hours. I just had to find out what would happen next.

The story is one that is tough to talk about without major spoilers. Go into this knowing nothing and you will love it. It is a story of motherhood, betrayal, murder, a family drama and so much more. Set on an isolated island off Tasmania, it is the perfect location for this twisty and shocking thriller. While you won’t like many of the characters, and you will question the main characters decision, you will absolutely have strong feelings whilst reading this book. It will go where you don’t expect and you just have to go with it.

At first, I was afraid this would be a run of the mill suspense, but I was pleasantly surprised by multiple twists and lots of originality. I really enjoyed this one.

Rose Carlyle creates a flawed yet strong heroine in Eve, who goes from a six month sailing journey with her boyfriend to alone and pregnant. Just when Eve thinks there's no future for her and her unborn child, she's approached by a creepy old lady who offers Eve the chance of a lifetime.
Come live on a private island with a rich, childless couple, have your baby, then become it's nanny. Oh, and keep everything a secret.
Then things get really weird.
Fake pregnancies turned real, missing babies, lighthouse living and rare geckos are only the tip of the mysteries surrounding Eve and her captors.
No One Will Know takes the reader on some wild and unexpected plot twists that carry Eve to the brink of destruction and back. Keep an open mind and set sail on this freaky cruise. It's worth the price of admission.

This was definitely a whirlwind of a ride! Twist after twist, untrustworthy characters, an isolated island - what more could you ask?

Eve Sylvester is brought onto a secluded island to be the nanny for a very wealthy couple. She’s told not to tell anyone where she’s going - what could possibly go wrong?

I’m sorry to say, I could not stand Eve. 😂 All of her decisions made no sense and made her impossible to root for. I truly don’t mind far fetched ridiculous storylines when they’re done right but unfortunately I feel like this one was just way too impossible to believe.

It was still a fun ride regardless and I flew through it so that definitely says something. I loved Rose Carlyle’s previous book The Girl in the Mirror so I look forward to reading what she puts out next!

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC!

When her boyfriend dies, leaving her alone and pregnant, Eve finds her way to Julia and Christopher Hygate, a seemingly perfect couple who offer her a way out of her current situation.

This one was a twisty thriller! Here's what I liked:

The setting: The island setting really gives you a locked door feel to this one. You can't escape and don't know who to trust.

Eve: She was an interesting character. With no ties to anyone, I felt so bad for her most of the time. But I also rooted for her to build her own family in such a tough situation.

The twistyness: This one really runs the gambit. There are crazy situations and crazy people. You really can't trust anyone in this. It was fun to try to figure out what was really going on the whole time.

All in all, a good and twisty thriller.

Thank you to the author and publisher for the gifted copy!

Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. Eve thought she landed a cushy job as a Nanny. She is living on a small island where nothing is as it seems. An ok read.

Eve's life is tragically turned upside down when Xander is killed on their way to meeting his parents. When she is offered the opportunity to nanny for a rich couple on a secluded island, she is hesitant, but ultimately decides to do it since she has no other options. She could have never imagined the horrors that await her and her unborn child.

There are some good twists in this one that I didn't expect. It does stretch a little into the unbelievability factor, but it was still a good read.

This book was so much fun, and I didn’t want to put it down. The pacing was great, and I simply devoured it in a few hours. It is such a suspenseful read, that combined with the fast pacing, there was simply no way I could put it down. I loved the writing style; it was very well done. The author wrote the book in such a way that I was so immersed in the story. As a mother myself, I was so drawn to Eve and what she was going through, it was fantastic. Then the twists! I did not see all of them coming, they were great and left me guessing until the last moment. The atmosphere of this book was also great. Because it was suspense it almost had this eerie feeling, but it was set in a beautiful location, so it played with my emotions in a more complex way and it added to the wild ride that the book was. I loved getting most of the story through Eve’s perspective, but then things changed a little towards the end and we got another. I’m not going to spoil it and say whose, but it was a nice touch and helped round out the story nicely.

4 out of 5 Stars!

Julia and Chistopher Hygate are the perfect couple. They are wealthy, live in a gorgeous house on a private island, and seem so in love. But they are missing one thing. A baby. So when they meet Eve Sylvester, who has no partner or family, they believe she is the perfect person. Especially since she is expecting a baby. Eve is just happy to be there, she believes she has the perfect job on the island. Even with the odd things happening around her, she is already in too deep. Has Eve made a fatal mistake?

“No One Will Know” by Rose Carlyle is a fast-paced thriller with twists you won’t see coming. I have never read a book with so much suspense and an ending that was worth the wait. The more I read, the more anxious I become for Eve. I felt like I was watching this play out in real time. I loved the plot of this book, it felt very refreshing as a thriller with new themes that aren’t as commonly written.

Eve, our main character, was amazing. I loved her background and her values. She wasn’t the smartest, as I felt like there were so many red flags being thrown up. But, it wouldn’t be a thriller without them, right? I really liked how this book was split up into different parts. I think it helped move the story along, and it felt refreshing to jump so far ahead.

Pick up “No One Will Know” by Rose Carlyle on October 1st, 2024!

Thank you to William Morrow, Rose Carlyle, and Netgalley for a digital ARC of this novel in exchange for my honest review.

No One Will Know by Rose Carlyle

#NetGalleyARC

No One Will Know definitely had many twists and turns. Eve, a young woman with no family, close friends or ties to anyone, has been struck by tragedy. In what seems like a change of luck, she is as hired for a job as a nanny for a wealthy family on a private luxurious island in Tanzania. Without giving any spoilers, I will just say that the rest of the story involves heartbreak, drama, betrayal, motherhood, murder, and more.

Mixed bag for me - this was an easy read and kept me engaged throughout. As with most suspense books, I found myself shaking my head intensely at the ridiculousness of the main character's action at times. EVE - how can you be so smart, but also so dumb!!?? Much of the book was not believable or relatable. I did find myself surprised at some of the twists and so for that, I was invested. I'd recommend for an easy rea if you're looking for something not too deep.

Thank you to NetGalley and William Morrow for the eARC.
