I read both of the first two books in the series and this was definitely my least favorite! It was still quick and enjoyable, but I found the male love interest to be annoying which made me less committed to the romance. Loved the ghost haunting though and will definitely continue the series if more books are released!!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for access to this ARC! I read this just in time for spooky season and I enjoyed it!

This was a very sweet, cute story! It was also a very quick read that was perfectly paced. I loved how there weren’t too many ‘will they or won’t they’ situations.

3.5 stars rounded to 5
So I thought I might really enjoy this one but it ended up falling just a bit flat for me. I loved the interracial coupling but I think it lacked some spark. It was a good book, just not one that I'd return to in the future.

This was such a sweet and quick read and I loved every second of it! I read this in one sitting and it was just such a sweet read. Amalia and Kingston have such great chemistry and I really enjoyed their journey in this one!

This was a very cute and quick read. I enjoyed all the characters and the chaos of magic throughout. Keren managed to give fairly well developed characters in a fairly short book which i thought was impressive. A perfect October evening read!

This was a decently quick read that got me ready for more spooky season reads. I thought the premise was interesting, but I felt like maybe it just fell a bit flat for me. I realize it is a short story, but I felt like there wasn't as much character development as I normally like, and it left me feeling a bit disconnected to the characters. That being said, I did not read the first story in this series, that might have helped. While it was cute, it just left me wanting more.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher 8th Note Press for an advanced readers copy of this book. All opinions within this review are my own.

This was so different and fun!! A cute supernatural love story that I didn't know I needed!! THE WAY I DEVOURED THIS!! OMG
I just wish we saw more of the character's dynamic together.

I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Beware of possible spoilers.
I enjoyed this one. It was the perfect palette cleanser between fantasies. Short, sweet, with some magic? I will take it!
The magic is so much fun in this. Amalia has food magic and can see ghosts. Kingston is a movie star with possibly some magic of his own and being haunted by said-ghosts. They're both cute and I liked their relationship. It unfolds in such a natural and fun way.
I do wish it was just a tiny bit longer. Just a smidgen! If only to get a little bit more of the character's budding relationship as the ghost situation sort of took over and then the pairing felt a little rushed at the end.
I feel like I need to read Bespoke & Bespelled, too!

3.5 stars for this cute, short and sweet little movie magic novella! Not only do we get to see the magic of movies, we get some real magic in the form of a cooking witch and mysterious ghosts!
After a terrible last working experience, Amalia is lucky to get a job as craft services on a movie shooting near her hometown. Kingston, the leading man, cannot get enough of her delicious magical food- and the ghost he’s picked up won’t leave him or Amalia alone!!
This was the perfect little fluff needed for a cozy afternoon interlude!
Thank you so much to NetGalley and Karen Healey for a chance to read this in exchange for an honest review!

"Savory & Supernatural" by Karen Healey is a delightful romantic comedy novella that delivers laughs, charm, and a touch of magic. Healey's witty writing style and clever plot pack a surprising amount of depth and humor into a compact format. The characters are endearing, the romance is sweet yet hilarious, and the blend of supernatural elements adds an extra layer of intrigue. (I received an advance reader copy of this book and all opinions are my own.) I thoroughly enjoyed every moment and can't wait to dive into more adventures in this enchanting series.

This series is so darn cute!!
Savory & Supernatural is the second installment of the Movie Magic series by Karen Healey and I am absolutely loving the vibes of these books! Book 2 follows Kingston, an actor with a spectral shadow and Amalia, a witchy baker down on her luck. It’s super fun, extremely cozy and full of magical charm!

I am really enjoying the Movie Magic series and can’t wait to see what Karen Healey has in store for us next!
Thank you 8th Note Press for the gifted copy!

this book was okay. i felt like it was too short to get across what the author wanted. I don’t feel like there was much progression in any aspect of the book.

The second movie magic novella, this time focusing on actor Kingston and chef Amalia.
I didn’t realize this was in a pseudo-series otherwise I might not have requested it. I think this was an easy read though, but not super substantial. Like an easy summer read.

I received a copy of this for my honest review.
Our MMC is an actor, hoping to get different roles than he has been landing, but right now he's on a show. Filming takes him to New Zealand, and in doing so he meets our FMC. She is a witch, that comes from a long line of plant magic, but she's has food magic. When she takes the job as craft services for our MMCs crew she leaves that her second, more rare gift has come to play. The ability to see and talk to ghosts - and one just happens to be haunting our MMC. She wants to protect him, but to do some has to help the ghost find her anchor, which he happens to have.

I adored this book with its easily lovable characters and fun spins on a romance. A short read that's cozy and magical, I highly recommend picking this up!
A food witch meets an actor in this stunningly sweet short novel. There's magic, ghosts, romance, all on a film site. What more could you need?
Thank you to Netgalley and 8th Note for the review copy!

These books are just like a little hug! A cozy sweet mystery that feels like a comfy cardigan on a rainy day. Karen does a great job of keeping the story moving- a great magic system with little details that just make you smile. My only complaint is that, like with book 1 the ending seemed a bit rushed. But overall I really loved this book!

I just couldn’t get into this book. I felt like there was so much unnecessary detail about stuff I didn’t care to know. Especially with it being a novella.

Savory & Supernatural was a cute and quick read (157 pages)! This was my first book that involved magic/seeing ghosts and I think it might be a new favorite genre to read. Savory & Supernatural is the second book in The Movie Magic Series. I haven't read the first one yet (Titled BeSpoke & BeSpelled) and I had no trouble reading the 2nd book as a standalone. I enjoyed it so much that I'll need to go back and read the first!
Amalia owns a food truck and is responsible for feeding the cast and crew on a movie set. She has cooking magic and also has the ability to see ghosts. Kingston is the star of the film and has a penchant for collecting random trinkets. Kingston picks up a shiny object and takes it back to his trailer and that's when his and Amalia's world collides. Stay tuned for light romance, moments of spookiness and lots of laughs!
Many thanks to NetGalley, 8th Note Press and Karen Healey for access to the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A fun read that I finished in two bites!
I really like the world of these books which combines secret generational magic (if you're in one of the families, you know) with behind the scenes stories from the New Zealand film industry (or at least, Hollywood visiting New Zealand).
I really liked Amalia, a Craft Services chef at the end of her rope, struggling to recover from a career meltdown (and in a deeper sense, to recover from the feeling of 'never enough' because her magical skills are undervalued by her family.
But there's a ghost on set, haunting the star of the film... and the only way Amalia can protect him is to date him!
If it was a whole novel of "oh we can't tell him magic exists" then it might have become tiresome, but the pace of this speedy novella means that we rattle through to the conclusion at a natural rate.
Warning, you will need to find a caramel slice to eat within 24 hours of reading this book.
