This was a quick read with lots of twists and turns. This was my first book by this author. I did enjoy it. The big twist came earlier than normal, so I was very curious about where the rest of the story was going. There were a plethora of characters, and I not sure they all were necessary. There were many unreliable narrators. While I love unreliable narrators, I felt there were too many in this story. It made it seem disjointed with all the moving pieces in this one.
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Wow. I couldn't put this book down. The twists and turns!! I admit, I actually got lost a few times, and to go back and re-read a bit. This book is so very different from the usual thrillers I read. Great storyline!
Thanks to netgalley, the publisher and author for the chance to read this advanced copy.
Thoroughly enjoyed this amazing book. Wow! Incredibly gripping and tense, I was transported. Could not put it down. Very highly recommend this one.
A quick paced, twisty thriller that I enjoyed but it didn’t blow me away. The plot was good although the introduction of characters felt a bit confusing until later in the book. The ending was really good and really kept me guessing.
A fast-reading psychological thriller with some twists I don't think anyone will figure out. I thought that the Catherine character could have been explained in more detail as to who she was and how she related to the story. Otherwise, the story line was unique and riveting. The ending blew my mind and would love to read more about the characters. Perhaps the aftermath of all the lies and deception of two of the characters with the most to lose. Highly recommended thriller with very unique elements that you will never see coming.
Thank you to NetGalley, author Holly Down and publisher Bookoture for the ARC and opportunity to review this book.
This was my first book by this author and I was quite impressed. The storyline was quite realistic and the characters were developed quite well. It was something that you would see on an episode of law and order or even a true crime show.
It was an interesting page turner. I wouldn’t say it was a thriller so much as more just a fiction mystery. It was interesting and the twist at the end I was not expecting.
I was shocked towards the middle with the one twist because I totally did not see that coming.
I would recommend this book and author and I look forward to reading more from her in the future.

If you love gripping & twisted #psychologicalthrillers, you have to read #TheOtherWoman! To say I enjoyed this first book I’ve read by Holly Down is an understatement. It’s about obsession & so much more, that’ll have you racing to the end! This one got me at the first major twist & continued its intense momentum until the very last one.
Thank you, Holly Down, Bookouture, & netgalley for my early copy! All opinions are my own.
WHAT A PAGE TURNER and completely bingeable! I’ve never read a book like this! Twists upon twists and a few more for good measure!
This is my first ever read of this “trope” and I think Holly Down has written this so well because I was completely blindsided!

David is a show host on a popular talk show. His wife Kitty is someone he loves dearly but she is struggling of late with all of the things going on in her life. David has a very successful night of his show, and things spiral from there.
I did find it a bit hard to follow the characters once the book hit part 2. I wasn’t sure who did what in part one and almost had to go back and reread part one to try to eliminate confusion
3.5 stars
The Other Woman is an interesting premise. The story is well written and caught my attention right away. It is a multiple point of view novel where it is not always clear who should be trusted. There are a few big twists that I did not see coming but which were believable and plausible.
The second half of the book reads very differently than the first half.
I'm not sure if the resolution was satisfying for me. I think I wanted a bit more from the ending. I did enjoy the epilogue.
Overall, The Other Woman is a quick, engaging read. Fans of psychological thrillers will enjoy this one.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Holly Down's The Other Woman is a dark, twisted, fast paced, psychological thriller that will keep the reader on the edge of their seat from the beginning of the book to the end. This book has so many twists and turns, the readers might as well be on a roller coaster. They better be good at praying, and hoping they don't get whiplash with all the sharp turns this books takes.
I obviously knew this was about a married couple where the husband was having an affair but the TWISTS!!
Right off the bat, the first chapter just grabs you and you’re like “oh sh*t!” It kept me guessing — as soon as I thought one thing was happening it stumped me and new twists were revealed!
I loved that it was from multiple POVs and it takes you back to moments from different angles to see the different sides. You really got to know the characters and loved them, hated them or were conflicted on your feelings for them and I really enjoyed that.
I’m just starting my thriller journey so I’m so happy I got the opportunity to read this one and add it to my thriller must read books list!
A 3.5 star read bumped up to a 4.
This was a riveting read told from 2 POVs. You get a direct line into the characters' innermost thoughts and yet it's clear they're harbouring secrets. The twist midway through was really nice.
It would have been nice to see what was happening in the real Kitty's mind too but I understand that would've been hard to pull off. I did guess the Tom and Kitty thing early on during the friendly group dinner.
The final scene was kinda garbled in the way it was written. It came off as rather abrupt and chaotic and was a bit hard to follow. I did enjoy the choice to kill off David though. That was unexpected.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC copy of this book.
This was a fast-paced, bingeable page-turner! When I had read to about 50%, I couldn’t read fast enough to get to the ending to see where this train wreck of characters was going to land. Everyone in this book is horrible, despite initially seeming to be ok. And then, they go from horrible to totally crazy.
Thanks to #NetGalley and #Bookouture for the book #TheOtherWoman by #HollyDown. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and all the twists and turns till the surprise ending. David and Kitty seem to have the perfect life, but do they really? David is a TV personality and thinks he is big stuff. Being faithful is not one of his priorities and this time has caused some problems. Can he talk his way out this time?
The Other Woman by Holly Down a well-written thriller that keeps you turning the pages to find out what will happen.
This book! It will have you gripped, I actually couldn’t put it down. Thought provoking, chilling and absolutely compelling reading.
Thank You NetGalley and Bookouture for your generosity and gifting me a copy of this amazing eARC!
David and Kitty seemed to be having a happy married life--or so it seems until Kitty finds David in the arms of another woman, who happens to be his colleague, Nina. Kitty then start drinking and stalking Nina. Then one night, Nina was found murdered in her apartment. David was the last person to see Nina...or is it Kitty?
I like that the POVs are set in David and Kitty's characters. They are both unreliable characters and as a reader you don't know who to actually trust. However, even though the first part of the story was interesting, intriguing and a page turner, the second part of the story, to me, was a little confusing with the addition of another main character, Catherine. I felt that twist was a complete turn over from the actual story line. It also started to get little boring, confusing and above all, I thought it kind of ruined the whole plot line. The ending to me was a little unsatisfactory to me.
This could have been a good domestic thriller but the ending was unsatisfying. Worth 3 stars.
Many thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC. The review is based on my honest opinion only.
Im giving this book 2.5⭐ because maybe it just me idk it was really hard for me in some way to read this book just when i got to the end it was a little better and i didn't really like the characters they were annoying in some way in my opinion maybe i will try this book in the future but the what i think for know on this book
Secrets, lies, deceit..... obsession?
Oh, my!
Im sure as a thriller lover, you have read the back of books similar to this one, you think you've heard this story and you contemplate on whether or not you really need to read another domestic thriller about a hellbent wife and a deceiving husband..
You, do.
Im so happy I went with my gut and hit request.
The Other Woman, is like nothing I have ever read before and Holly Down had me in the palm of her hand, drooling over the deceit and exposed secrets, each page held.
The twist?
You won't find a spoiler here but I promise your jaw will remain on the floor long after concluding.
Check out this teaser:
There are three of us in this marriage. One of us has to go…
My husband, David, is everything I always dreamed of – with his warm brown eyes and sparkling smile. He makes me feel like the most beautiful woman in the world. After so many years, I still look at him with eyes full of love.
I thought he felt the same. Until today. Because now I see that same look of love in his gaze: eyes crinkling, lips curved up. But he’s not looking at me. He’s looking at another woman…
My drink sticks in my throat as I watch David with his colleague Nina across the crowded bar. My heart is pounding. I can’t lose David. I can’t. We’re the perfect couple – being one half of Kitty and David is all I’m good at.
I know I shouldn’t, but I follow them when they leave together. I have to know what’s going on…
But then I wake up the next morning with no memory of the night before… And Nina has been found dead.
All eyes are on us. Our perfect marriage. Our perfect lives. But none of it was ever really perfect, was it? And now Nina has paid the price for our secrets, who else will be in danger when our life built on lies comes tumbling down?
This book takes what you think you know to a whole new level because it will toss you, turn you, and mix you all up.
At least it did me. I had to stop, reread and reevaluate what I’d just read several times to discern the plot.
Infidelity, betrayal, lies, and major major delusions by the main character.
I wasn’t sure what happened with David at the end, even after reading it a few times.
No matter because the villains got what they had coming.
Sometimes it’s good to be bad.
