I adore Sue Watson’s books and could not put this one down, reading it in a day. This book is a gripping psychological thriller. It’s tense, full of twists and devilishly dark. The plot is pacy and you’re drawn in from page one and kept enthralled until its dramatic conclusion. Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture and the author for the chance to review.

This book was just okay. Rachel, the FMC, annoyed the hell out of me with her refusing to see and acknowledge ALL the red flags. Literally, EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. I’m all for being trusting, but I found myself telling Rachel to get it together and stop being delusional. The twists in the book were pretty predictable. And that ending? Nope.

To think all would’ve been solved by installing a secret camera.

Thank yku NetGalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to review an ARC of this book. I had no idea that it was technically part of a series following DI Gina Harte but I’m happy to say it worked well as a standalone and besides not knowing some references to her past I was still able to understand what was going on. This book was super well written and had me guessing all the way through as it continued to introduce more and more characters and scenarios. I had it figured out… partly, and then doubted myself as the story went on. The ending and epilogue threw me through a loop once a certain background story came to light. All in all a good read and I think I’ll be exploring the rest of the Gina Harte series!

This has to be one of Sue Watson's best and i read it far to quickly!
There are just enough characters so i found it easy to visualise them pretty quickly.
Some truly awful people and at times i wanted to shake the main character.
Plenty of twists and just when you think the story had ended there was a real shocker.
My thanks to netgalley and the publisher for my copy.

I AM LOST FOR WORDS!!!!!!!!!

Seriously!! What a bloody fantastic book. I swear this book will literally blow you away, the amount of twists is unbelievable! Each and every one of them are shocking! You definitely don't see them coming.

I must pick my jaw up off the floor....

This will definitely be a bestseller and I'll be making sure I recommend this book to everyone.. even if they don't read they must read this.

I'll be seeing this book next at the number 1 stop of the best sellers chart.

Back in the days I used to read only romcoms, but people change and so do tastes. This also meant I did not follow certain authors any more. Since a few years I am devouring thrillers. Can you imagine how happy I was when this brilliant author started writing this genre? I am so pleased to find her on my favorite authors list again.

Sue Watson is one of those writers you know will never disappoint. No need to read the blurb. Just read, shut the world out and enjoy. :)

Wanting more out of life is not a bad thing. It becomes a problem when they can not be satisfied with what they have and seem to want what does not belong to them. If you want what is not yours, you will encounter some obstacles. They just want to get rid ot them. It does not matter what they are or who they have to use to achieve their goal.

The big question is: who can you trust in this world?

Some people are very good actors. I started to see through one of them in the end and I was shocked to realise I was right. I wonder if you figured out who wore the biggest mask. :)

I am a big fan of this author and her amazing stories and this one also deserves a 5 star rating.

Thank you

Rachel inherited a lot of money after her father passed away.
Her husband Tom buys a house in Cornwall and spends a fortune on renovations, until the money is all gone.
When she moves into the house with their son, Sam,strange things happen. Sam talks about the lady that comes into his room.
Rachel befriends Chloe, but Tom does not like her, just as he doesn't like her best friend, Rosa. In fact, he doesn't seem to welcome anyone who takes Rachel's attention from him. However, there are three people in this marriage, but Rachel doesn't know it yet.

This is a creepy stalker novel. I felt that Rachel was far too trusting and did not take note of warnings, or recognize red flags.
Chloe is definitely mentally fragile, but Rachel seems intent on befriending her.

Well written, taut, tense and frightening.

However, I did figure out the ending.

Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read this book.

Enjoyable read! Great beach read option. Kept me engaged throughout. The twists however were predictable.

Lies with danger and murder…secrets and red herrings…husband with wife and friend…triangle…trust and deceit…all of these combine to make a recipe for the story in this page turner. Written by a talented author, the novel reads like nonfiction at times. Thanks Netgalley

Don't plan to do anything and lock the doors! Tense and intense, one twist after the other - and you may never trust anyone again. Complex domestic mystery will keep you reading until the last page, keep snacks handy.
