This book was not what I was expecting - and I was pleasantly surprised! Absolutely love this author - but the title lead me to believe this book would be more relationship driven and less mystery - which was not the case! I found myself drawn into the plot which revolved around a potential back story of deceit! Cant wait for the next book from this author and am grateful for the advanced copy!!!

~| MY SYNOPSIS (no spoilers) |~
Louise and Marcus shared a deep affection for one another, but after a decade had passed, their communication had waned significantly. Witnessing numerous divorces among their friends and acquaintances, Louise is committed to preserving their marriage at all costs.

Enter Erin, who shared her insights into her successful marriage with Kieran, which involved an open marriage. Intrigued by the concept, Louise poses and discusses the idea with Marcus. Surprisingly, Marcus cautiously agrees, queueing Erin, her husband Kieran, Louise, and her husband Marcus to meet. There was one condition: complete honesty.

However, as Louise gets involved with Kieran, the rule of honesty blurs tremendously. This led to a situation where the open relationship turned into an affair, creating deep seeded feelings of regret as Marcus displays newfound attentiveness and affection. Recognizing her mistake, Louise ends the affair with Kieran.

Unfortunately, the situation takes a darker turn when Erin is reported missing, raising questions regarding the true nature of the couple’s relationship dynamics. Caught in a web of deceit and uncertainty, Louise grapples with the consequences of her actions as the law enforcement get involved. This jeopardizes her marriage, but also poses a threat to her reputation and livelihood. After muddying the water with dishonesty and fabrications, can Louise crawl out unscathed?

~| MY THOUGHTS |~
This was a quick, enjoyable read, even though the level of transgressions and steaminess was tame in comparison to what the title of the book and its synopsis suggests. Despite this, I was shellshocked—and thoroughly entertained—by some unexpected key elements that brought a juicy amount of drama and angst. I wasn’t expecting things to pan out how they did, and had my eyebrows glued to the top of my forehead as the story’s conclusion unfolded.

The largest reason this was a 3-star rating for me as opposed to a 4-star rating was simply because of Louise. The sheer number of times in which she analyzed, overthought, and then reanalyzed exactly what she previously analyzed gave me reader’s whiplash.

Additionally, all too often Louise jumped the gun and drew irrational conclusions without any proof or facts; this led to a substantial number of secrets and miscommunication. In hindsight, given the most notable issue in the marriage between Louise and Marcus—prior to “the open relationship”—was dwindled communication, I’ve begun to wonder how much of that could be attested to Louise sabotaging herself.

All in all, this book had fascinating elements as well as those that made me mentally facepalm. Nevertheless, it was a quick, altogether enjoyable read that I would recommend to those looking for juicy drama and a main character who doesn’t utilize brainpower as much as she should.

I would like to express my profound gratitude to NetGalley, Bookouture, and Victoria Jenkins for providing me with an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Open Marriage by Victoria Jenkins was a good and twisty domestic thriller with a perfect amount of manipulation! The end of the book was the best as so many twists were revealed. Some I had suspicions about but some took me by surprise!
I must say it was way different than I expected. There wasn't a lot of open marriage drama but that was the intriguing part.

Louise and her husband, Marcus have been together for ten years and feel their marriage seems stale. When Louise meets Erin at her yoga class she develops a nice friendship and when Erin mentions that the secret to their successful marriage is "The Open Marriage" Louise is ready for an adventure. Unfortunitelly this adventure will start a massive disaster that no one was ready for!

Thank you, NetGalley and Bookouture for this copy!

Overall good read with twists, at the end one that I hadn’t quite got as soon as I’d thought. In some ways not quite what I thought it would be, but definitely worth reading.

If you like stories such as The Couple Next Door recently aired on TV this book will likely be for you.

A pretty immersive thriller. I read the book in one sitting, and enjoyed the fast pacing of the story. Ending somewhat predictable, but a good summer read to while away the hours while chilling in the summer sunshine - 3 stars. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced digital review.

Louise and Marcus’ marriage has hit a rough patch. When Louise meets Erin, Erin suggests they swap husbands to rekindle the romance. Instead, they put in place a chain of events Louise never saw coming.
Nothing like a book that grabs you from the start. The storyline was kinky and intriguing for a domestic thriller, and the build up was really well done. So many secrets, lies, deceit, and all the twists I look forward to in a great mystery. I loved this book and cannot wait to read more by Victoria Jenkins, who was a new to me author.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for an ARC of this book in exchange of my honest review.

Lies, deceit and murder are just a few keywords for this domestic thriller by Victoria Jenkins. Louise is struggling in her marriage with Marcus. After an encounter with Erin at a yoga class she figures out that the solution to their problems is an open marriage. Everything starts out well, but then she falls for Erin's husband, Kieran and then Erin disappears...

Such a good thriller with lots of twists and interesting characters. It wasn't what I expected, but it surely didn't disappoint. I found so enjoyable and engaging. Would definitely recommend.

This book is a great domestic thriller that keeps you hooked!

From the title I thought this was going to be a very different story than it was. But that is the usual with Victoria Jenkins. It was a good read. Solid story. Lots of twists and turns. Not as risqué as I had expected. I will continue to read every book she puts out! Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Victoria Jenkins is a thriller mastermind! The Open Marriage sucked me in and didn't let me go until I finished the entire thing.

The story follows Louise, who is experiencing a rough patch in her marriage to Marcus. He has been spending more time away from home and Louise finds herself checking his phone behind his back out of worry that he might be seeing someone else. Then Louise meets Erin in her yoga class and the two hit it off and start sharing about their personal life, which leads Erin to share that she is in an open marriage. This then sets off a chain of events in Louise's life in an attempt to save her marriage, but all does not go smoothly.

This book is full of lies, deceit, murder, anything that you are looking for in a great domestic thriller, it's here and it actually belongs and not thrown in to attract readers. You find yourself really rooting for Louise throughout the story as you can understand and relate to what she is experiencing.

Thanks so much to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC!

I really enjoyed this book! Once I started reading, I devoured it!

Louise makes a new friend while at yoga class(Erin), and learns that she has an open marriage with her husband. Louise and her husband have fallen into a rut, and she is somehow slowly convinced to give it a try. In this story, you get it all. Lies, deceit, murder, missing persons, and a FMC you can’t help but root for. I thought it was a great story and will absolutely be seeking out others from this author!

Thanks so much to NetGalley and Bookouture for my advanced copy!

The Open Marriage by Victoria Jenkins is another propulsive page-turner from the author.

Louise and her husband Marcus have hit a bit of a rough patch in their marriage. Marcus is spending more time away from home, and Louise has resorted to checking his phone behind his back, fearful that there might be someone else. But meeting the beautiful Erin at a yoga class will put into motion a chain of events that will have Louise wondering just how far she is willing to go to save her marriage. Is she daring enough to sleep with someone else's spouse, and does she trust her husband to do the same?

This is a domestic drama told from the single POV of Louise, and her internal monologue is fascinating as she tries to justify her desire to play with fire in the most unorthodox of circumstances. 4.5 stars

Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for an ARC.
