I absolutely adored the first book in the series! This one gets around 3.5 stars for me!! This one was definitely action packed and I was happy to be back in this world!
this was such a good way to wrap up the trilogy! i loved everything!! i was left with a lot of questions & feeling like i spin off series or something could definitely take place; however, i loved the part at the end of her saying that she never knows what tomorrow holds. i feel like i’m a way that answers those things & ties a nice little bow on it. definitely a fun romantasy trilogy!
A great conclusion to the series!
I will say I wasn’t connected to the characters *quite* as much as in the first 2 books, but I still really enjoyed it!!
I ate up the battle scenes and the romance. THE ROMANCE…Kane, the man that you are!! He’ll always be one of my top book boyfriends.
Sad having to say goodbye to this series, but I heard Kate has something else cooking. 👀
This series ends on a high! While I was never fully obsessed with this trilogy, I really enjoyed this book. Kane is an incredible mmc and a top notch book boyfriend. He is for sure the highlight of the trilogy for me.
I loved Arwen's growth, resilience, positivity, and willingness to fight. I really enjoyed how we saw the rest of the kingdoms and my anxiety during the first 40% was THROUGH THE ROOF.
Thank you Berkley for the arc!!
what a perfect ending. Perfect for the Romantasy reader and will be recommending to everyone I know. Super emotional and high stakes. I cannot wait I read what Kate golden has in store for us next!
I will read anything that Kate writes. I am so lucky to have been around for this series from the beginning and have received an ARC for each book in the series!
Truly the best ending of the series that Kate could have possibly given us.
Kate Golden’s A Reign of Rose is a mesmerizing tapestry of betrayal, passion, and power set in a richly woven fantasy world. The story follows Serina, a fierce and resilient heroine navigating courtly intrigue, dangerous alliances, and the burden of secrets that could topple kingdoms. Golden’s prose is lush, painting vivid landscapes of both the heart and the land, while her characters breathe life into every page. With a romance that smolders and a plot full of twists, A Reign of Rose is a feast for readers who crave high-stakes drama and unforgettable moments. It’s utterly unputdownable! I’m obsessed with it!
3.75 ⭐️
🔥 4-5 open door spice scenes + explicit language
i am going to miss this world and these characters! although i enjoyed the first two books in this trio more than this one, i really enjoyed the last 100 pages! they left me feeling warm and fuzzy. can’t wait to see what else Golden has in store for us! ✨
Kate has done it again!! The ending to one of my favorite series!! ❤️ I don’t want to give too much away but you need this!!!
I LOVED THIS SERIES!!!! I was so fortunate to be able to read this before it was released!!! I loved it so so much.
I did enjoy this book more than the first two, and I liked how this book expanded on the world and introduced us to new characters and dynamics that I would've loved to know more about. I also loved how we saw more of already known characters but I wish *some* of their arcs were more resolved by the end of this book.
Overall, this was a fun romantasy series but I'd honestly love to see this world from a more fantasy lens. The romance/steam aspects overpowered the plot in almost a jarring way, because the tone felt so different and inappropriate when side by side to what was going on in this world. By the end of this book, I almost have bought into Kane and Arwen but some things about them feel forced to me.
3.5 stars for me!
This final book is a powerful end to Arwen and Kane's journey. The romance between them is intense, with plenty of "touch her and you die" vibes, and their banter keeps things light amid the epic battles and heartfelt moments. The world-building is rich but easy to follow, and while some of the twists were a bit predictable, the story still delivered on emotion, humor, and a truly moving ending. Fans of romantasy will enjoy the adventure, the steamy romance, and the sense of devotion that carries through to the last page. Highly recommend!
The finale of the Sacred Stones trilogy did not disappoint. All of the wonderful world building and character development we had throughout the first two books were neatly brought to a close here. I like my books a little on the spicy side, but there are times when I fall in love with a story only to have the plot sidelined for smut. This is not that story. Golden kept a good mix of plot and relationship building. The "no, I'm going to die so you don't have to" did get a bit repetitive, but not so much that I wouldn't still give this a 5/5.
"I was just a girl" ❤️🔥
Love Dagon in this one, Wyn and Acorns mother having a part of the story
I am so glad Leigh got her sword lessons and that they kept the dinner game their mom used to play with them.
Mari and Griffin need their own books next
A Reign of Rose by Kate Golden is the final installment of The Sacred Stones trilogy and if you haven't picked this series up yet, definitely consider doing so. I've enjoyed this one from the very first book so was happy to dive into this one to see how everything was going to end up for these characters.
This book picks up very shortly after the end of book two so you'll dive right back into what is going on with Arwen and Kane based on how things left off in book two. The question Kane has to answer immediately is, what is he willing to give up/do to bring Arwen back. The nice thing about the beginning of this book is that Golden doesn't drag out the storyline with Kane thinking Arwen is dead...there is a short period of time where he does but I was worried it was going to be much longer so was truly happy it didn't drag out. Unfortunately for Kane, he takes some actions that have an impact on him before he knows that she is actually still alive. That said, he's still determined to fulfill the prophecy and kill his father, King Lazarus, even if that means he dies doing it.
As Kane and Arwen finally come back together, they are determined to destroy Lazarus and his allies. to save Evendell. That means they also have to build alliances and it doesn't always work out as planned. There is plenty of action in this book and of course, you have dragons and magic too so what's not to like?
If you're looking for an Adult, Fantasy, Romance series to pick up, consider grabbing this one. I thought Golden did a great job of developing the world these characters lived in, giving me characters to be interested in, and creating a story that would keep me turning the pages. What more can I ask for? I'll definitely be looking for more in the future from this author!
What a fun conclusion to this series! Perfect for people who want plenty of fantasy in their fantasy romance. Descriptive world building, exciting battle scenes, and found family perfection, this series will be easy to recommend.
This series is quite literally everything you could want in a romantasy – sizzling enemies to lovers romance (with the most delicious groveling), a refreshingly unique take on worldbuilding (kingdoms based on the gemstones they’re famous for!), and a fast-paced plot rife with tension, betrayals, and prophecies.
While I enjoyed book one, this series really finds its emotional and romantic stride in book two, and three delivers on all of that delicious emotional turmoil that's been building across several books, and sees a satisfying, exhilarating ending to the story for these characters we've grown to know and love over the trilogy.
Without getting into spoiler territory for any of the books, this finale picks up right after the epic cliffhanger A Promise of Peridot left us with, and offers us a fun, new location to explore through a certain character’s POV. The world starts to come together – finally! – as we’re given the answers to questions we’ve had since book one (particularly around the prophecy), making this feel perfectly paced and fully wrapped up by the end of the book.
Unexpectedly, this installment hit a rather poignant note on grief and loss, unpacking those thorny, difficult concepts with such grace and sensitivity that it makes this book a much more emotional read than you might expect going into it after two books of romantic tension and a fast-moving plot. It slows down a little in the first half of this book to really explore those themes, and then hits fever pitch in the back half as it all comes together.
This was truly such a beautiful story, and book two and three were so good that it’s instantly catapulted this series to the top of my ‘to rec’ lists for folks looking to heal an SJM hangover. Pick this up if you’re a romantasy connoisseur, love a brooding, jealous shadow daddy, enjoy slow burn (but well worth it) spice, and are really into crystals – the gemstone kingdom concept was a little underutilized in my opinion but was such a fun, refreshing concept.
This series has been on my TBR for so long. The reviews are raving, and with this plot line, how could they not be?!
I love Kate Golden, her story telling is gorgeously done, and this is no exception!
“𝓘 𝓵𝓸𝓿𝓮 𝔂𝓸𝓾. 𝓘’𝓵𝓵 𝓵𝓸𝓿𝓮 𝔂𝓸𝓾 𝔀𝓱𝓮𝓻𝓮𝓿𝓮𝓻 𝓘 𝓪𝓶, 𝔀𝓱𝓪𝓽𝓮𝓿𝓮𝓻 𝓘 𝓪𝓶. 𝓐𝓵𝔀𝓪𝔂𝓼.”
Ugh, the end of Kane and Arwen’s era… I’M NOT READY 😭. The ending of their journey was everything I hoped it would be and everything I wanted it to be. It was such an epic conclusion to one of my favorite series.
I literally love both Kane and Arwen so much, especially Kane with all his self-sacrificing, morally grey, perfectness. Both Kane and Arwen have suffered so greatly, but both triumphed so hard as well. Plus Griffin and Mari and now even Wyn! So many characters I would LOVE to see spin-offs with... just saying!
Kate FED US with this last installment. It was everything we needed and wanted. ARoR had an epic journey, epic battles, heart-wrenching moments, spiciness 😏, and so, so much more. The ending of this series is so bittersweet but I am so happy with how it ended. I couldn’t have asked for more.

This was such a perfect ending to this amazing fantasy romance trilogy. I loved how Kate was able to wrap up Arwen and Kane's story while still leaving avenues for more stories to be written. The entire time I was reading I truly had no idea what was going to happen next!
If you want a series that you can truly binge and gobble up, this is a great series for you!
Thank you NetGalley and Berkley for the eARC!
