This one was fun and enjoyable. I’m a vet tech, so I knew I had to read this one. Plus, Scarlet Wilson always writes a great story! The author did a great job on the back story of the characters and eventually bringing Aurora and Eli together. Eli is very grumpy in the beginning. I love grumpy heroes! This was well written with good conflict. The animals were an added bonus. Fun summer read! Huge thanks to Harlequin and Netgalley for allowing me to read and review this book!

Aurora's life has been pretty hectic and she's just looking for a calm summer working as a vet nurse but things start to change when the veterinarian Eli shows up to pick up where his late father left off. Both have issues of the past they need to work on, secrets they are keeping, and they'll have to learn to trust each other as the attraction grows between each other in the hopes that something more can happen.

This is a pretty enjoyable book. Pretty mellow compared to the action packed books I've been reading lately I enjoyed seeing the romance blooming between the two. It was interested in getting to know their secrets and seeing why they did certain things that they were doing. Then there was a question of what would happen when the secrets come out how would it impact their relationship? I really enjoyed following along seeing how everything played out. Overall I would recommend you read it it's actually perfect for the summer time great poolside read.

Eli, a brooding veterinarian, and Aurora, a fiery vet tech, start as polar opposites, each running from their pasts. Over the course of the novel, they begin to bring out the best in each other, helped by a lovable pup named Bert. Supporting characters Matt and Marianne also play a significant role in softening the main characters and bringing them closer together. The romance develops slowly and tentatively, respecting the characters' complex histories. The story includes various animal patients, adding to its charm. Overall, it is a well-paced romance with likable characters, and satisfying ending, making it an enjoyable read for dog lovers and those in the pet care field.

Grumpy to lover story

I enjoyed this book by a new-t0-me author. What's not to enjoy? Scotland, hot veterinarian, pretty and talented professional vet assistant with a secret, lots of animals (big and small) and cute rescued dogs. Aurora wasn't always a vet assistant, she was once on a popular tv show. Unfortunately, that means she had to deal with a stalker, and that memory haunts her.

Eli comes back to town to run his father's vet practice after his death and sickness of his business partner. Eli's not happy to be there, wants to be back out practicing in various world locations where people don't know his secret. Instead, he's right here and has feelings for Aurora.

I liked that Aurora knows how to stand up for herself and is an independent woman. She's caring, considerate and loves the animals and their human friends. Eli has some rough edges over a past hurt, but will he be comfortable letting Aurora in?

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.

Her Summer with the Brooding Vet by Scarlet Wilson is a sweet story. I enjoyed getting to know Auroa and Eli as well as Marianne and Matt. I liked that the romance was not immediate. The characters get to know each other while they take care of their patients. There was a time, though, when I wanted to lock them in a room together until they had a serious conversation. Aurora and Eli saw a variety of patients including some adorable dogs (I love books with animals in them). The story was just the right length with a satisfying ending. Her Summer with the Brooding Vet is a charming romance to read while relaxing beside the pool.

A sweet romance that takes place in Scotland. Puppies and a villain add charm and angst to the tale. The couple's back stories need to be told to each other in order to resolve some issues. Charming and heartwarming story that is a quick read. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley. My review is voluntary.

This is a Medical Romance. There was a lot I liked about this book, but there were some things that really bothered me about this book. I really just wished both the characters would talk to each other. I did enjoy getting to know these characters and the animals in this book. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.

Eli and Aurora are polar opposites at the start of this novel. He is a brooding vet and she is a fiery vet tech. Both of them have a past that they are trying to run from. Throughout the novel, I really like the way that they begin to bring out the best in each other and close the gap between them with the help of lovable little pup named Bert.

I liked Matt and Marianne as supporting characters and as a couple. It was so touching to see that they brought out the softer side of the main characters as well as brought them closer together.

I liked the tentative approach to romance in this book. You wouldn't expect two people with a past to immediately catch fire and get over it. This book really takes its time and honors the fact that they have both been through a lot.

I'm a lover of dogs and anything surrounding them so this book was an enjoyable and quick read for me. If you love dogs as well or are in the pet care field, I think you will really like this book!
