Murder Island by James Patterson and Brian Sitts is different than the usual Patterson books. It is more violent than I would like, but overall an interesting read.

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars. I loved all the action in this book. I didn’t know the back story about Doc Savage, so if you haven’t read any of the other books about that character then I’m here to tell you that it won’t matter in this one. The story is still easy to follow because they review the backstory in this one so the reader isn’t missing out on the character dynamics.

This one kept my mind racing and my fingers busy turning pages. I couldn’t wait to read this every day to get my adventure fix! I never knew what unexpected adventure they were headed towards next. The author did a fantastic job of keeping the story fresh. The way the two main characters kept dodging death was gripping! There was no disappointment in this book! The action, adventure, and even a love story, was all thrilling. I couldn’t put this one down. Patterson did it again!

In the book Murder Island, authors James Patterson and Brian Sitts continue their new Doc Savage series. Professor Brandt "'Doc'"Savage and his girlfriend Kira Sunlight have found an oasis from their troubled pasts. But trouble seems to keep finding them. They are violently ripped apart and now have to survive on their own and try to find each other. This was a great fast paced story with lots of twists and turns. I would recommend this book. The audio-book narration was very good. I received a copy of this audio-book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Murder Island is book two in the Doc Savage Thrillers series by James Patterson; Brian Sitts.
This book was gripping from the start, it opens on a scene that already has the reader wondering where the story might go.
This book is jam packed with tension and suspense that kept my heart racing.
A new fast paced and never ending pulse racing story from a well known and loved author.

More over-the-top hijinks for Doc Savage and Kira in this follow up to The Perfect Assassin. I read it quickly and liked it as much as the first book, though at times it gets a bit repetitive (Kira/Doc gets captured, daring escape, rinse, repeat) and the action is a bit farfetched, but it reads very much like a Hollywood blockbuster that's designed as pure fun escapism. I'm enjoying the series and will read more if there is a continuation.

Murder Island is a fast paced adventure filled thriller. Doc Savage and Kira Sunlight cross the globe in a race against time for their lives and the mission. Suspenseful and intriguing, with unexpected twists. This is the second in a series and even though I didn’t feel like I missed much I would recommend starting with book one.

I liked this one a lot, especially with origin out of the way, we could dive into the main story from the first page, and breathlessly read until the very end. Like most James Patterson thrillers, the chapters are short, and when they end, they leave you with the desire to read just one more. It was entertaining, and I loved all the callbacks to classic Doc Savage and then the teases for the future going forward. I do hope we get more of these every couple of years and they expand this world a little bit more than what we've gotten to date.

Special thanks to Grand Central Publishing and Netgalley for the digital ARC. This was given to me for an honest review.

This is a thriller/adventure. Doc Savage has been trained well by his sidekick, Kira. I missed reading the first book in the series, but Kira went to some school that exposed her battle skills, survivalist training, how to think her way out of a situation, arms, and many more things. She has trained Brant Savage, Ph.D in all these skills.

The book opens with the two being pursued in tunnels in Chicago and travels to many locations in the world. It is a very violent book. Somehow they survive all the terrible things that happen to them by their skills, creativity, and some unlikely alliances.

This book is not my favorite James Patterson book, but it did keep my interest from start to finish.

Another action packed, twisty thriller from Patterson! This one was a lot of fun with the rollercoaster ride we went on. It was a little slower paced than usual in some parts but I feel like it all paid off in the end. This will definitely be a fun one to gift to family members for the holidays coming up!

James Patterson is definitely one of our most prolific writers. I recently read and thoroughly enjoyed "Eruption," which was the result of a partial manuscript and copious notes left by the late Michael Crichton, king of the science thriller and one of my favorite writers. Crichton's widow contracted with Patterson to finish the book, which is a current best-seller.

I saw "Murder Island" on NetGalley and was intrigued, so I requested it. It is non-stop action (the second in a series) with a bit of plot and character development, but to me, it was formulaic, had way too much violence, and an evil adversary with world-conquering ambitions that seem a bit too implausible. The novel's hero, "Doc" Savage, is a former professor turned vigilante with Adonis-like looks, smarts and prowess. His "teacher," Kira Sunlight, was trained in a Russian prison to be a ruthless killer; she escaped and made her way to Chicago, where she taught Savage everything she knows. Of course, they make the perfect couple, but the nefarious wannabe king of the world is out to kill them. I don't want to give too much away, but Doc and Kira get separated, both have adventures in the Bahamas and the Congo, and constantly fight off very well-trained adversaries.

I'm sure this will be a best-seller, and it will appeal to readers who enjoy this genre. I also am a fan of this type of novel (I've read lots of books by Brad Thor, Daniel Silva, Kyle Mills, James Rollins, etc.); "Murder Island" is good escapist/thriller fare, although the plot is a bit farfetched.

Thanks to NetGalley, and Hatchette/Grand Central Publishing for the ARC and the opportunity to review this book.

I love this New Doc Savage series! The authors have done a great job bridging the original Doc Savage to his ancestor.

My only suggestion for the next book is that the new Doc Savage should find ancestors of the original’s helpers. There were five companions that dedicated their lives helping him. I think it be intriguing to find those ancestors of the companions and see if their progeny is friend or foe to our new Doc Savage and Kiera Sunlight.

Thank you NetGalley for letting me read this ARC. All opinions of this book are my own

This was definitely a very action packed thriller. Doc and Kira are off on another adventure and this one just doesn't seem like it will ever end - at least with them alive. I really enjoyed the plot of the book and the few twists but it did feel like a longer read than it was. For an action story it was not as fast paced as I had hoped but overall a good read

James Patterson and Brian Sitts deliver a pulse-pounding adventure in Murder Island, the second book in the Doc Savage series.

This novel is a thrilling blend of action, suspense, and unexpected twists.
If you haven't read the first book in this series, you can start here, but I think you will greatly enjoy this story and want to read the first book. They are both exceptionally enjoyable.

The story follows Brandt “Doc” Savage, a professor turned crime-fighter, and his girlfriend, Kira Sunlight, as they see refuge on their own teeny island.  Their hopes for a peaceful escape are quickly dashed when they are violently captured and separated from each other. What follows is a high-stakes game of survival and rescue, as Doc and Kira navigate treacherous terrains and face formidable adversaries to reunite and uncover the island’s dark secrets.

Doc Savage is a compelling protagonist, combining intellectual prowess with physical agility. His character is well-developed, showcasing both his vulnerabilities and strengths. Kira Sunlight is equally intriguing, bringing a blend of resilience and resourcefulness to the story. The dynamic between Doc and Kira adds emotional depth to the narrative, making their journey all the more engaging.

Murder Island explores the themes of survival, loyalty, and the quest for truth. Patterson and Sitts delve into the complexities of human nature, highlighting the lengths to which individuals will go to protect their loved ones and uncover hidden truths. The novel also touches on the idea of utopia versus reality, questioning the true nature of people's concept paradise.

Patterson and Sitts’ writing is fast-paced and cinematic, with vivid descriptions that bring the island and its dangers to life. The dialogue is sharp and realistic, adding tension and urgency of the plot. The authors’ ability to balance action with character development ensures that this story remains engaging from start to finish.

Murder Island is a gripping addition to the Doc Savage series, offering a perfect mix of action, suspense, and emotional depth. Patterson and Sitts have crafted a story that is both thrilling and thought-provoking, making it a must-read for fans of adventure and crime fiction.

Highly recommended for those who enjoy fast-paced narratives with complex characters and unexpected twists.

This book was the second in a series and even better than the first one. There was lots of action, suspense, and a little romance with a happy ending. It was an enjoyable read.

This is the second featuring Doc and Kira in a new series by James Patterson. If you haven’t read the first one that’s okay because intermixed in this book is the information you need to catch up. Someone is again trying to kill Doc and Kira. This is set in Chicago, Europe and the Islands. There are boats and human interactions that make this a great read!

Murder Island is a 5-star addictive, roller coaster ride! Kira Sunshine and Doc Savage are battling evil with Doc on an ultimate mission to find and rescue Kira. Their saga leads them to many different locales-this book really reminded me of a James Bond movie! Highly recommend!

This was a very good thriller. Lots of action and I always love a strong female character. There are parts that are more than a little farfetched, but that's why they call it fiction. A lot of luck, but that's what makes things exciting. I didn't read the first Doc Savage book, but this book is good as a stand alone, I don't feel that I had missed much.

This book is the second one in the "Doc Savage thrillers" series. I have not read the first one, so I had to do a bit of catching up in the beginning. I recommend reading the books in order for better clarity. Here Doc and Kira are living on a beautiful, deserted island, happy and having a great life, until things go wrong and they have to flee. During most of the book they are separated and fighting to get back together. Lots of action and exotic locations keep the story moving along at breakneck speed. I'm not sure if more books are planned for the series, but I do plan to go back and read the first one. Thanks to NetGalley and Grand Central Publishing for providing .an ARC

I am a fan of pulp storytelling and enjoyed this author duo’s take on The Shadow. Wonderful to see them now tackling Doc Savage, and I’m interested to see where this new story goes — as well as what character is next for a pulp revival from Patterson and Sitts.
