The second part of the Broken Vow duet. I really enjoyed the first one, so of course I had to read the second one as well. This should not be read as a standalone. To fully grasp the story, read the first book.

This takes part years after the first one and we get Hannah’s and Lenny’s point of view. That was quite a surprise to me, but a positive ones I haven’t read alt of books that feature the POV of a young child. I didn’t think I’d like this as much as I did. I liked her actually a lot more than Hannah, who was a tad annoying with her constant doubts.
I did enjoy the first book more, but it was great to read the conclusion. I’d definite recommend this one.

I liked the addition of “Whisper”. What a great thought. The idea of revenge is an u known concept for me and at times it seemed so extreme. But on the other hand, this is a fictional story, so go wild by all means!

As always, don’t read the blurb, it’s spoiling in a way.

Congratulations Liz on another great book, you’re a rockstar!

⭐️Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for my advanced copy. All opinions are my own, I was under no obligation to review.

The Missing Bridesmaid is the second book of the Broken Vows series by L.G. Davis, and I have to say that it is every bit as compelling as the first.

Hannah and Nathan are set to wed, and their adorable daughter Lennie is thrilled to be a bridesmaid. But as the day nears, Lennie 's imaginary friend Whisper seems intent on planting a seed of doubt in the little girl's mind as to the type of man her father really is. Will the fears that have taken up residence in her young mind prevent her parents from achieving their happily ever after?

Lennie is far and away the most likeable character in this twisty narrative, and you will be captivated by her POV from beginning to end. My fingers and toes are crossed for a continuation of the Broken Vows series. 4.5 stars

Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for an ARC.

When I finished the previous book, I was left wondering where this all would lead to. After all it was a case of calling the kettle black...

The actions of two people also resulted in a very devastating thing that altered the future of two other people totally and irreversibly.

Revenge is the base for the manipulation taking place and who better to pick as the perfect person to be manipulated? Cruel? Yes, utterly, but that's the nature of this master manipulator.

I had figured out a part of the plot which gave me the right to pat myself on the shoulder. Did this disturb me? No, not at all it made me proud of myself and there was still plenty left to be revealed.

There were a few things that happened that would be considered as unforgivable in my book, but maybe if you unravel the story behind the actions, you could admit they were done with the best intentions. So maybe the right thing to do was to forgive and forget.

I enjoyed the book and I adore the cover. Those shoes are so cute. Looking forward to more books by this author whether it's maybe a third book in this series or a completely different one. 5 stars

Thank you

Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for this Advanced Reader’s Copy of The Missing Bridesmaid by L.G. Davis due to be published June 13, 2024.
I had read the first book in this set, The Woman at My Wedding, so I was thrilled to get this book. I did have to go back and re-read the end of the other book to catch up on the characters and plot.
When Hannah finds out her daughter, Lennie, has been talking to a “guardian angel” she brushes it off as her imaginary friend. Her fiancé, Nathan, thinks it’s all in her head, but it becomes too real when Lennie is kidnapped the day of their wedding. Who is trying to poison Lennie against her parents?
This one was very easy to read – I read it in one day. I loved the development of the characters and how they interacted with each other – enough to satisfy me, but kept me guessing how they were all related. It had me hooked as soon as I read a few chapters and totally kept my interest until the end. There were lots of twists and a very shocking, but satisfying, ending.
I can see a book three coming with this one, and I’m ready for it! A great read!

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for providing this book, with my honest review below.

The Missing Bridesmaid was a well written book but it just didn’t really come together for me. Hannah and her soon to be husband, Nathan, share a precocious and highly creative daughter, Lennie, as well as a major past secret which remains a secret through much of the book. As their wedding grows closer Hannah experiences forgetfulness while Lennie seems to think her imaginary friend, Whisper, is telling her her dad is a bad man. While this is all good in theory, the secret being held for most of the book and then, upon being revealed, not fully explored was a bit of a letdown for me. As was the supporting and main characters being so easy to forgive and forget, which felt unrealistic. So did Lennie, who would be a joy for any parent but just felt a bit too perfect.

As mentioned this is well written but it felt we spent a lot of time with Hannah and her doubts about Nathan and not enough of the tension that was driving the plot around their shared secret. I did think the pieces with Lennie and Whisper were done well. Ultimately I just couldn’t get behind this. I’d also like to add if anyone somewhat knowingly got me injured in a plot to take down another person and took away that which I wanted most, I’d hardly forgive them in a span of an hour.

What a great sequel. I love how the characters’ story lines continue with new twists and a satisfying conclusion which also left the door open for another book. I read this book and the previous one in the series in less than a day so I would say that’s a success‼️looking forward to reading more from this author.

Book two in the broken vows series focuses on Hannah and Nathan after breaking free from Brynn and her plans. After Nathan's dad dies, he becomes withdrawn and then angry. This causes their daughter, Lennie, to fear her father. Whisper, Lennie's imaginary friend, suddenly becomes real and convinces Lennie that her dad no longer loves her and hits her. Nathan's anger continues to cause problems for he and Hannah. Hannah begins to think she should leave. Before you know it, Hannah is having headaches and dizzy spells and people start to think she is the bad parent and not Nathan. What is going on? Who is trying to cause trouble between Nathan and Hannah. If you read the first book, it is very obvious, however the storyline and the way things go down are not so obvious. This circle of women are definitely not anyone I want to be friends with. Great series. Can't wait to read more by this author.

This talented author has written a page turner. Secrets and red herrings kept me guessing. One moment, I thought a friend was the imaginary friend…another moment, another friend…the imaginary friend that was not imaginary…sound mysterious? It was …a little girl in the midst of all of this…a child…parents not able to control themselves and put the little girl first…there were truly not likable characters in this book except the child…at least the main characters…devious and conniving…the ending was not easy to determine…thanks Netgalley.
