It’s been years once I read Real and Mine but since I had this ARC for years and Remy is delicious I figured it was time, the book is essentially books one and two retold from Remy’s perspective. While I loved the other two this one just did not work as well for me and that’s because how rushed it all felt. I appreciated the past and present POV shifts but everything read more like it was being summarized than experienced. Remy also is very honest with Brooke and so even being in his mind this time around there wasn’t much more to learn. From the exact moment Remy catches sight of Brooke she’s his whether she knows it or not. He proceeds to do everything he can to keep her by his side as his possessiveness knows no bounds. The only real change I felt from reading his POV was experiencing his bipolar disorder and out of control emotional state through his eyes. It’s like he’s always living on the edge just waiting to tip over. Brooke is both his lifeline and his trigger point which at times proves very dangerous. I love the way he loves her though with an all consuming passion that so closely borders insanity. Maybe some would consider his obsession overkill but Remy was living without a balance for so long, her being in his life gave him purpose especially once they had their son. I completely forgot about the scorpion scene though and omg I still have chills. I can’t even blame him for the murder us rage that overtook him then. Rivalry can be healthy and good , especially for fighters, but his enemy took it too damn far with that one. Overall it was a decent read, just rehashed everything from previous books and didn’t really provide me with anything new. I will forever love Remy though and it was nice to get his POV even if it was rushed.
