I previously liked Joe Hill, so I was interested in this. I don’t know what I was expecting but I wouldn’t call this story enjoyable like Locke and Key or Heart Shaped Box. The art was appropriately scary for the genre. It explored the horrors of war and what goes with it. As a short read, it felt like it was supposed to be shocking and brutal, and I just wasn’t interested in reading this kind of story.
