DNF this book due to personal reasons. The content was difficult for me to read about being a SA survivor

Thank you NetGalley for my first ARC! Going into this book was not what I had expected at all. It was such a real, heartbreaking story. I felt for Summer having to go through the rape, the harassment, the loneliness, the heartbreak of nobody believing her. This story was so well written because it’s real life. This stuff happens every, single day to women and it shouldn’t. It’s disgusting that so many men get away with it.

I loved that we got POV from all the characters involved.

As a victim of S/A, this was a little hard to read. However, I liked the way the author showed all sides of what happens with an accusation like this. How many lives are effected when something like this happens. I loved the names of the characters. I loved all the skeletons that came out of the closet once this emerged. I thought the author handled such a sensitive topic very well and wrote this in the most sensitive way. It was well written and i look forward to more by this author.

How far will you go to save a loved one? It seems we could ask both families in this book.

Two mothers who have been friends for years. Their children who have recently started dating and one night of he said she said, and lives are torn apart. Weaver takes us on a wild ride inside the lives of two families who seem perfect on the outside, but harbor deep secrets on the inside. After Summer accuses Know of raping her, other lies that have been hidden reveal theirselves and both families in this novel will never be the same again.

I enjoyed the writing of Caitlin Weaver and look forward to reading her again.

Such A Good Family by Caitlin Weaver is a gripping, emotionally charged novel about loyalty, betrayal, and the lengths we go to protect the ones we love. When Knox, a young man in a seemingly perfect family, is involved in a devastating accusation, his mother is forced to confront the shocking possibility that everything she thought she knew about her son—and her family—might be a lie. With sharp emotional depth, Weaver explores the tension between trust and doubt, examining how far a mother will go to protect her child and keep her family intact. This compelling, thought-provoking story will stay with you long after the final page.

What a great debut novel! I immediately ran to read this book after reading Things We Never Say, and I was just amazed by this book! Weaver is now an auto-buy author for me.

This story was emotional and complex. We meet two mothers who are best friends. Their children begin dating, and they are pushed to the brink when each of them are determined to protect their own child. I was engrossed the multiple POVs that helped pull this plot together. I couldn't put this one down. I felt a plethora of emotions while listening to this book. The characters were well developed, and the plot was realistic. I love the way Weaver approaches heavy and sensitive topics with care. Such a relevant story to the world we live in today!

Thank you NetGalley and Storm Publishing for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This was such a great domestic mystery and I couldn’t get enough of it. This book tells the stories of two families and how the unthinkable tears them apart and buried secrets are brought to light.

I liked that we got multiple character perspectives in this book. It definitely helped to describe the aftermath and how each character coped with what happened.

The story kept me hooked and I didn’t want to stop until I figured out the outcome.

I am looking forward to more from this author.

This book had me hooked from the first page- a very controversial subject which was handled well and with respect.
The POV from different people added depth to the story and it also flowed really well. It showed how rumours and a lack of communication can ruin lives, reputations and friendships.
I felt anger, pity, annoyance and lastly sadness- the ending had me in tears.
Thank you to the author for the emotional rollercoaster 🎢

Lorrie and Eden have been best friends for years and are quite happy when their kids Summer and Knox decide to start dating in high school. One day Summer comes home and asks Eden how you know you're in love. This leads to a revelation that Summer believes Knox may have raped her. One decision turns their worlds upside down. I like that you got the emotions from both sides. You have a mother on one hand whose daughter is in the hardest position of her life and having to deal with the backlash. You have another mother who will do anything to protect her son and his future. Will Lorrie and Eden's friendship survive this betrayal?

This is a fast paced and thought provoking read, that shows how friendships can be impacted upon life’s events. The different POVs really added to the story.

This was such a great story - hard to read because it is so real and truthful. If you or someone close to you has been a victim of rape, this may be a hard story for you.

I feel like Caitlin Weaver did such a good job of showing the perspective of everyone involved and effected by Knox and Summer's relationship. This story showed how one incident can change so many peoples lives.

It would have been a five chair for me, but I thought Caitlin Weaver could have come up with some other words beside "f" to show the emotions. In spite of this I am interested in reading another book by her.

This was a tough read at times because it was relatable for me. However, I think it was incredibly done.

The story itself was really impactful and made you self reflect a lot. Thinking about how one accusation can affect not only the accused but really an entire community. Everyone connected to the incident becomes involved as soon as it becomes public. This in itself is why so many people probably stay silent, yes, but at the same time when it’s true it needs to said and a huge impact should be made.

Such a Good Family
By Caitlyn Weaver
Review and Rating 3 ⭐️

Such a Good Family is the story of Lorrie and Eden, best friends and neighbors, that is until their perfect lives are torn apart by a rape accusation. This book moves right along but is really more of a domestic drama than a thriller. I liked the story and was especially impressed that this was a debut novel. I look forward to reading more of Ms. Weaver’s work in the future. 3⭐️⭐️⭐️
