Arc Review - thank you netgalley.
I really enjoyed this books tone/vibe. That being said, I did call the murderer pretty early on which was a bit disappointing.
However, the characters were compelling and I enjoyed their flaws. I was expecting this to be in a sorority but this takes place years after. Overall if you're looking for a mystery/thriller that has good vibes, this is it.
Just couldn't get myself invested in this one; was pretty run of the mill for a thriller. I do appreciate short chapters, though, but wasn't interested in reading adults acting like teens.
3.5/5 stars

This book was very interesting! At first I really struggled with how slow the story was. The past time line was so minor at the beginning and did not add to the story until much later. Like I wish we would have see more of the past in detail at the beginning of the story instead of the repetitive I felt like I got from the first fortyish percent of this book. It took so long first the first buddy to be found and then all the sudden more people were dying. But when everybody started dying things will started to build in the story!! There was some plot points that I felt like did not really add to the story. They were suppose to be distraction to keep you from figuring out the "mystery" but they were just adding words and pages. I did not feel like they actually effected the story in big ways to have been such "big" things. Once everything got going tho I was there for the story! The last 20% was great!! The big plot twist that came about the past was so well done and had me gasping out loud. If you like Mysteries this is a good one to add to your TBR. The last thing I will say is: Justice for Travis.
Zetas Till We Die by Amber and Danielle Brown is a mystery thriller that follows Priscilla and her Zeta Phi Zeta sorority sisters as they reunite for their ten-year college reunion. It's been a decade since they were all together, and since one of their own, Lupe, was murdered. The man convicted of Lupe's murder has just been released from prison on a technicality, casting a shadow over their reunion. Determined to honor Lupe's memory, Priscilla insists the party must go on. However, when one of the sisters goes missing after the party, Priscilla realizes that the past is far from settled. As secrets unravel and the danger escalates, the Zetas must confront the truth about what really happened the night Lupe died. The character development is solid, particularly with Priscilla, who emerges as a strong and determined leader. The dynamics between the sorority sisters are well-explored, highlighting themes of loyalty, betrayal, and the lengths people will go to protect their secrets. However, some of the secondary characters could have been more fleshed out to add depth to the story. The pacing is generally good, though there are moments where the story feels a bit slow. The suspense builds effectively, leading to a satisfying and unexpected conclusion. The authors do a commendable job of weaving in the backstory and the present-day events, creating a cohesive and compelling narrative. Overall, Zetas Till We Die is a decent read with a strong central mystery and well-developed main characters. Despite some minor flaws, it shows promise for Amber and Danielle Brown as writers. I'm curious to see how their storytelling evolves in future works. #netgalley #zetastillwedie
Thank you to Grayden House for the digital copy to review.
This is my second read of this sister author duo, and I really enjoyed it. Told in two timelines, past and present, I thought that while this took a little while to set up, the dual timeline worked well here. I was vested from the start and did not see the ending coming at all. I am looking forward to seeing what this duo writes next!
At first I was totally drawn in! I was flying through the first part of this story because there was just so much going and so many mysteries! The middle part was intriguing with all the secrets coming out all the crazy things happening. However, the ending was not really what I was hoping for after getting the whole story. I also wasn’t a huge fan of all the infidelities that were going on. I think the fractures of the main character’s relationship with her husband really made me not as interested in the story. Overall it was a twisty, mostly exciting book, but in the end I wasn’t super impressed.
I was pleasantly surprised by this book. As someone who detested sororities in college, the premise sounded interesting and I wanted to give it a shot. All of the sisters had unlikable traits but they were messy and I was here for it. The reveal of whodunnit was fairly predictable but I enjoyed the twists and turns along the way. I really love how the author worked through Travis’ character arc. If you are looking for a whodunnit that also reads a bit like a reality show then give this a go!
Many thanks to Netgalley for the e-arc!
So I've read these authors previous books and loved them too, so when I saw this pop up on Netgalley I knew I had to request it. But boy I wasn't expecting this book to absolutely destroy me at the end. I sobbed for like five minutes at the end of the book. I won't get into spoilers but it hurt (not in a good way) but in a way that the book needed to end. I will always read these authors, they are incredible!
I really tried to like this one, but I could not get too far in. It was just not for me. The writing is all over the place and parts make no sense, I got 20% in and still didn’t feel pulled to it or that the story was moving along well. The characters were a bit all over the place and not believable.
Years ago, Priscilla, Dionne, Alexis and Lupe and others promised that they would be ‘ZETAS TILL WE DIE’ as sorority sisters at Acadia University. One of the group was indeed a Zeta till she died when she is found at the bottom of the stairs with a broken neck and her stalker standing over her body. He eventually went to jail for murder. Just before the sisters’ 10 year reunion, however, Travis Wolfe is released from prison on a technicality. The sisters decide to go ahead with the reunion and party in Lupe‘s honour. When a fight breaks out at the party and one of the sisters is reportedly missing the following morning, the girls wonder if history is repeating itself. Priscilla and her sisters work to try to piece together what really happened and why her husband Liam is reluctant to bring in the police.
I loved the element of having each other‘s back and Priscilla‘s dogged determination to pull the pieces together and find out what was really at the centre of both the tragedy of the past and the current disappearance, all the while dealing with cracks in her own marriage and the distancing of her husband. The writing duo of Amber and Danielle Brown wove an intricate tapestry of twists and turns that led to an enjoyable read. This is my first novel by this duo but their names will be on my radar.
Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Paperback for this ARC opportunity. All opinions are my own and given voluntarily.
3.5. This was a roller coaster ride! I received an ARC of this book and to be honest it can use a ton of editing, but it was smart and had tons of amazing character development. There were things I was able to lightly guess but I never was able to fully see what was come. Definitely very devastating and sad, at times I honestly forgot it was a thriller.
Pick this book up if you are a fan of horror movies from the 90s and early 2000s. It gives everything you want in a classic thriller, especially with the duo time points and plot twist. One moment, I thought I figured out who the killer was, and then I was wrong. This book was a great read, and the pacing was fantastic. I highly recommend this book and hope you enjoy it,
Thanks to Netgalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for the opportunity to read this book.
Always a sucker for a Greek Life thriller book, I knew this one would intrigue me. The pacing of this book was done well and I was invested and wanted to see it through.
Though my college didn’t have Greek life, I’ve always had a soft spot for sorority novels, and Zeta Reunion was the perfect Halloween read! The story follows Priscilla and her Zeta Phi Zeta sisters as they reunite a decade after graduation—and after the tragic death of their friend Lupé, which still haunts them. With Lupé’s killer shockingly released from prison just before their ten-year reunion, Priscilla pushes forward, hoping that celebrating together will honor Lupé’s memory. But as the party’s thrill gives way to unease, the night takes a chilling turn, and Priscilla realizes they may not be as safe as they thought. The novel is packed with suspense, secrets, and ghostly memories, making it an ideal October thriller that combines the mystery of old college bonds with eerie Halloween vibes. It’s an intense, page-turning read about friendship, betrayal, and how the past never truly stays buried.
As a girl that doesn’t read too many thrillers, this was a good one. I will say 400 pages was a smiiiiidge excessive for this story and it could’ve easily been wrapped up sooner. But it was a good read. I was semi annoyed with the ending - not the ending I hoped for, but overall I’d still recommend it to someone who likes thrillers.
Thanks to NetGalley for the e-arc.
i tried to read this book as i was intrigued by the concept and always love supporting BIPOC authors, but the formatting and editing of this ARC was so beyond messed up that it was impossible to read, unfortunately!
It took me awhile to get through this because the storyline wasn't captivating. I did enjoy the dialogue though. I think the plot should be more developed.
It was hard to empathize with these characters or like any of them for that matter. Their world seemed very shallow and entitled. The story itself seemed long and drawn out like the authors got lost. I had the murder pegged around the middle of the book but the other characters seemed oblivious.
I was initially drawn to this book because I read the name of the sorority quickly, and thought this book was a fictional story of a very popular group in the Divine Nine.
The book starts off suspenseful, there’s this eccentric guy named Travis that seems oddly infatuated with Lupe. The authors provide glimpses of interactions between the two, Lupe’s untimely death, and the court proceedings to convict Travis of her murder.
And from there, the book goes downhill. Priscilla seems to be manufacturing drama between her husband, but their marriage doesn’t seem so bad to me. The references to all the expensive items she has in her home, then she speaks of being jealous of her sorority sisters. Idk, it just seemed superficial. I didn’t connect with any of the characters. They were not relatable.
I fell asleep every night that I tried to read this book, which is why I ultimately DNF’d 25% in. Maybe if the writing was more suspenseful and the characters were better developed, I would have actually cared about what was happening.
I was never in a sorority, but I do find that life fascinating. This book was like a creepy look into that life, though obviously fiction. It was entertaining, creepy, and a great thriller!
