I apologize first that I lost track and realized k never gave my review on this book! It was a cut novel but missed the mark on a couple different story points for me. If you love baseball romances and the thought that even celebrity’s find love when they least expect it, you’ll probably enjoy it more. Overall it was cute read, just unfortunately nothing special or standout to me.

Wow! When I started reading, I wasn't expecting to get completely sucked in.
While I think the Travis/Taylor inspired romance is completely overdone, I couldn't help but fall incredibly in love with Lacey and Jimmy and their whirlwind romance.
It was cozy and sweet.

Thank you to Netgalley and the Publishing Company for this Advanced Readers Copy of Heavy Hitter by Katie Cotungno!

As a swiftie I ate this up.
When I received a copy of the book I had no idea what it was about and when I started reading it I quickly realized it was basically about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, it literally read as fan fiction lol. Some things were different, but overall it was definitely about them.
It was a fun read, if you're a swiftie you'll like it.
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review!

I have loved several of Katie Cotugno's previous books and was really excited to receive an early copy of this one. That being said, I ended up reading 30% of it and then DNF -- it felt too cheesy to me, the romance felt too forced, and the parallels to real celebrities too apparent. I really wanted to like this and stuck with it longer since I have loved previous books by the author.
I will continue to check out Katie Cotugno's future books, even though this one was a miss for me.
Thank you to NetGalley for the advanced copy of this book!

I will read anything Katie Cotugno writes! Her books are always a hit for me and this one was no exception. The characters and romance between them always feel effortlessly realistic and genuine! Thank you to the publisher for the copy!

A cute rom-com! Nothing too crazy new but was a fun, easy read. I would be happy to pick up another title from this author again.

Heavy Hitter is a pop star and baseball player romance between a pop star whose image has become out of her control and a former rookie of the year. This book had some sweet moments but sometimes felt off in terms of pacing and chemistry between the main characters.

This is a good book. The two main characters are Lacey and Jimmy. Lacey is a singer. Jimmy is a major league baseball player. They meet one night in a bar. They start dating. It is really hard for them to get together because of their schedules. They talk a lot at night about what happened that day. They each have issues but together they worked them out and fall in love.

Like everyone else, I was probably swayed by the fact that I absolutely ADORE the relationship that Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce have built and thought maybe a book about a celebrity x athlete would be ideal in that moment. But dang it. Nope. It was SO Taylor & Travis inspired that it was just cringy. It was like the book was still in the stages of being written and was put out in such a rush that it was just a no from me. Fan fiction at the best?? Thanks for the opportunity.

Pop star girlfriend and pro-athlete boyf? Yes please!! Lacey Logan is THE global pop star--in charge of her own life and fate, enmeshed with her fans, only a little bit locked in by the constraints of her fame. MLBer Jimmy Hodges is at the tail-end of his career--giant shoulders, aching knees, and not sure what his next step looks like. Nobody writes inhabited characters in hot scenarios and smart+funny dialogue like Katie Cotugno. I gobbled this book up in a single sitting and still wanted more.

I thought this was very good and I will have to add this to the shop shelves. Thank you for the chance for us to review.

another taylor/travis fan fiction, I think it did a good job of capturing what must be the planning, stress and impact of their fame but I wasn't quite sure I got enough to know about the two main chracters to kknow why they like each other

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. Ummmm, this is just a story about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. There is no creativity away from this story playing out in magazines and on TV. It's like the author copied and pasted the story from a People magazine.

Heavy Hitter by Katie Cotugno had all the elements I usually enjoy in her books, but this one fell a bit short for me. While the writing and premise were solid, I couldn’t connect with the characters, which made it a little difficult to enjoy the book. Still, it’s a well-crafted story that earns 4 stars for its strengths. Thank you to the publisher for the Arc. This Arc was provided in exchange for my honest review

This was a mildly entertaining novella. FMC Lacey Logan is obviously VERY heavily inspired by Taylor Swift, with a publicist who emulates Tree Paine, fans who track her private jet, and of course, a pro-athlete, Midwestern boyfriend, Jimmy Hodges. Lacey even prepared for her current tour by singing while running on a treadmill, and she sends little messages to her fans through her social media. So yeah. I didn't actually mind all of the Taylor copying, but I would have liked to see Lacey go through actual character development. All of the characters here are fairly surface level, and all have super unlikable moments. Jimmy's behavior towards the end was especially annoying. And the actual ending was remarkably unsatisfying. I didn't hate it but I didn't love it.
2.5 stars, rounded up to 3. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a complimentary copy of this book. These opinions are my own.

A very quick read, but a very swoony romance. Heavy Hitter cements Katie Cotugno onto my list of auto-read authors. I was impressed by how much character depth she was able to infuse into such a short book.

after multiple attempts at reading- I have decided to DNF. I’m hoping to return to it in the future but right now i’m unable to connect with the author’s writing style.

I didn't realize until I was too far into needing to read this book for a NetGalley review that it's just a retelling of Taylor/Travis and their love story. It's quite literally copy and paste of many of the headlines that are written about the pair. I wanted some form of originality.

This was a good premise but I wasn't honestly a huge fan of the execution. It felt extremely fast paced and it was sort of hard to keep up with. I think it would be great for someone who likes fast books but unfortunately did not hit for me.
