I’ve never read anything by this author Karen king before but after reading this I’d read more of her books.
Great storyline which kept you engrossed and reading, ending did feel a bit rushed. It’s told from multiple characters pov and does have a lot of twists I kept changing my opinion of “whodunnit” and you want a book that does that and keeps you guessing.

One of the most thrilling, exciting books I have ever read. Every page was full of tension, everyone came across as having secrets to hide. The author kept the excitement going until the very end. Can’t wait to read another book by this fantastic writer.

When a lovely family move in next door Vanessa is thrilled to have someone she can be friends with and her two sons, Lucas and Jacob, seem happy to spend time with Rachel who is the girl next door. However when a devastating tragedy occurs the finger of blame is firmly pointed at Vanessa and her family. Tensions run high in this chilling domestic thriller which looks at how quickly things can spiral out of control and with so many people keeping secrets both Vanessa and the investigating police team seem unable to discover the truth around who was there when Rachel’s accident occurred.

This is such an all consuming story that I read the whole of the book in a couple of sittings eager to discover more about these two families who seem to have been heading on a collision course from the moment they all met. With difficult conversations and heightened emotions the story gallops along at a good pace and to be honest although I thought I had the conclusion worked out I was surprised by the ending which wrapped everything up in a satisfying sort of way. Girl Next Door definitely has enough domestic drama to keep you guessing until the end.

I loved this book. Half way through I thought I had the plot sussed. Pat on the back to me, but of course there were so many twists that I was wrong. I'm pleased I was, as the ending was much better that the one I had guessed at .
Many thanks to Netgally for the chance to read this ARC in return for an honest review

I thought that this book was alright. I really did enjoy the genre and vibes of the book but feel like it was missing something.

This didn't work for me. I found the writing / storyline to be too much for me but not enough. It lacked depth and just found it to be a miss for me. I usually love this Author's books and writing style but something was off on this one.

Nothing says summer like a suspenseful read you can’t put down! This was a great read and I kept thinking how it’d make a super engaging limited series on Netflix. It felt a bit like a Harlan Coben mystery. It kept me up for two nights until I finished it. I did like the ending as well!

Thank you for my copy and for making me part of the tour!

The Girl Next Door is a thrill ride of drama and I was all for it. The storyline will draw you in and I'm telling you I was convinced I knew the ending, but I was totally wrong and I loved that. The story follows two families and their children who become fast friends but a tragedy quickly divides' them and sends the community reeling. The author does an amazing job of leading the reader down a path and then sprinkling in some doubt just to keep you on your toes. I enjoyed the storyline, the characters, and the twists.
Suzy and her little family of three move to a new town and are excited for the possibility for a fresh start. When they meet their new neighbors they are thrilled that the two boys are the same age as their daughter Rachel. Everything starts to fall apart fast though when a terrible accident occurs and Rachels young life is in jeopardy. Everyone immediately assumes one of the neighbor boys is to blame but they aren't the only suspects. If only Rachel could tell them who did this to her...but even if she could would she?

Girl Next Door by Karen King was the book I could not put down. I thought I had figured out what was going on, but by the time I got to the end I realized that I had absolutely no clue! The story kept me guessing and led me down so many different paths that I was thoroughly confused with all the clues. The characters were well developed through the telling of the story through multiple POVs - it gave the reader an opportunity to figure out what everyone was thinking, not only about the events, but also about what the other characters were doing and saying. This was my first book by this author and because I liked the style so much I would definitely pick up another one. Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read and review this story.

"Girl Next Door" marks my introduction to Karen King's work, and after this gripping read, I'm eager to delve into her previous books. As a fan of thrillers, I crave mysteries with unexpected twists and turns, and this book delivered on all fronts. From the gripping first chapter, I found myself captivated and constantly guessing. Each twist and subtle clue led me down new paths, culminating in an ending that blindsided me in the best possible way—unlike some stories where twists feel forced, this one left me reevaluating every missed detail.

The narrative unfolds through multiple perspectives within a family torn apart when their daughter is injured, allegedly by their neighbors' sons. Vanessa, Aaron, Jake, and Lucas form a seemingly perfect blended family until tragedy strikes, casting doubt and suspicion over their once idyllic lives. Karen King's writing style kept me engaged throughout, making this a must-read for any thriller enthusiast.

I'm grateful to Netgalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read and provide my honest review of this compelling book.

Girl Next Door is a domestic thriller about two neighboring families who start off as friends. Vanessa and Aaron live happily as a blended family. Suzy, Carl and their two children move in next door, and the families become fast friends. Suzy's teenage daughter, Rachel, falls from her bedroom window and winds up in a coma, and as the investigation develops, we discover that things are not as they first appeared. Vanessa's two boys quickly become suspects, but Vanessa is determined to prove to everyone that her boys are innocent.

The buildup in this story was great! I was fully engrossed in this one, wanting to know what was going to happen. This story was told from multiple POVs which I loved. The plot was great, but I did feel it fell a little flat with execution, mainly at the end. The ending was uneventful, and seemed unrelated to the rest of the story to me. I would've loved more background on what happened at the end. Overall, I really enjoyed the suspense, the drama, the lies and deceit, as well as the buildup. I was just a little let down with the ending.

I love Tamsin Kennard's narration. Her skill at bringing characters to life and allowing the reader to be able to decipher between various characters is *chef's kiss*! She has quickly become one of my favorite narrators.

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for the ALC in exchange for my honest review.

So many twists in this fast paced thriller. Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for this eARC. Vanessa lives with her husband, daughter, son and stepson in a quiet safe town. New neighbors move in next door that have two kids Rachel and Ben. Vanessa's two sons soon become quick friends with Rachel. Not long after Rachel moves in tragedy strikes and she falls out out of bedroom window. She's in a coma and her little brother is saying someone pushed her. All signs are pointing to Vanessa's two sons. This starts a whirlwind of secrets, lies, and pasts that get dug up. I found the twists really engaging. I do think the book had a lot of unnecessary filler and could have been majorly cut down. I did enjoy this read though.

The dynamics of relationships – adult and children – are fascinating. I love when an author can put all of those emotions into words that draw you in and refuse to let go until the end. The plot flows well, ebbing and waning to keep your suspicions and thoughts sharp.

When Rachel falls, I felt the emotional weight fall heavy onto my shoulders. As a parent, my heart ached for the tragic event, and I found myself wondering how I would have handled the situation. Relationships and trust are tried, tested, and even broken. Secrets always have a way of coming out and I thoroughly enjoyed how the characters all had bits and pieces that were unveiled at precisely the right moments. The story brings critical thinking to the table and even when you believe you’ve figured it out, BOOM! Another delightful twist!

The ending was unlike anything I’ve read in a while – absolutely enthralling! I definitely want to read more of her backlist!

Okay, so let me tell you…… everyone was a suspect to me! I trusted no one!

The opening really grips you and the unraveling of the lead up to the ‘fall’ kept me turning the pages. I need work out the culprit early on, but spent the whole time second guessing myself.

The are some decent red herrings/revelations which really made me think, the different POVs really enhanced this.

This book kept me guessing. About 1/3 of the way through the book, I thought I had it figured out. Nope! Finished this book in a day. Will be reading more of Karen King's books. Thank you Bookouture and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my unbiased opinion.

This book revolves around every parent’s worst nightmare. One child is seriously hurt & two others are blamed for it. This is an intense & unputdownable psychological suspense. I love a good thriller that gives me an ending I don’t expect. Karen King delivered. Just wait for the epilogue.

Thank you, Karen King, Bookouture, & Netgalley, for my early copy & audiobook! All opinions are my own.

Read and reviewed in exchange for a free copy from NetGalley. This was a gripping read which I blitzed through in a few hours. The story was well-paced and intriguing, and King switched between the different narratives well. However, I found the climax to be rushed.

Put aside a day just to read because you won't be able to put this one down. I read into the wee hours because the suspense was killing me!

Vanessa and Aaron have a blended family, one son from her, one son from him, and a 3-year-old between them. They have sworn to treat all kids equally and mostly they do. Until the new neighbor next door falls from her bedroom window. When blame threatens to tear them apart, how far will Vanessa go to protect her son?

King will have you questioning each character's motivation and suspecting almost all of them at some point. We hear their individual points of view. King perfectly captures teen angst and sibling relationships, loyalty, and secret-keeping

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for inviting me on this Books On Tour!
