As much as I LOVED the first two books in this series, I just could not connect with this story in the same way. I didn't feel the connection or chemistry between the two MCs, and it was hard to care about them as the story went on
DNF. I stopped reading at 15%. This book was not for me as I could not become interested in the story line.

This was a spin off from another series so, without having read the other books, I jumped into this one.
This was a good read but a frustrating one at times because these characters (especially Jen) were just making one mistake after another. You could tell that they were both driven by their guilt and sadness for these previous decisions they'd made and I was just ready for them to get onto some happy times already. However, if you are really in the mood for a tortured souls read, this is the book for you.
I do love how things came together in the end. And the steamy (and sensual) scenes did not disappoint.
Despite these characters being infuriating MANY times throughout the book, I love where they ended up and I enjoyed it overall.
Can't wait to read more from this author soon.

What a great addition to the Drew + Fable Series! I absolutely loved Jen and Colin!
Now some of you may be wondering who are Jen and Colin. Well we get glimpses of them in Second Chance Boyfriend. Colin is the owner of The District, a restaurant/bar that Fable and Jen work at. Jen is Fables BFF. Well Jen and Colin have this strange relationship. Colin was Jen’s brother’s best friend. But when he was killed in Iraq, Colin stepped up to take care of Jen. The only problem is that Jen really likes Colin and Colin likes her too but he doesn’t want to break his promise that he made Jen’s brother and parents and overstep the line in their relationship. Jen lives with Colin, works with Colin…they are constantly together so every one thinks that they are together. Jen has a past that not even Colin knows about and its starting to show up in her life and so she is ready to run.
This book has me on high alert. There was a lot of inner dialogue, which I loved, even though at times I was like TALK TO HIM/HER! Overall I would give it a solid 4.5 and up next is OWEN!!! YAY!

After reading Drew and Fables story across the 3 books I was really looking forward to this one, not only because I was hoping for updates on one of my favourite couples
However I found myself quite disappointed with this one.
Maybe it was because we aren’t really given a lot of backstory on these 2 characters, the love story between them seemed really rushed.
It would have been better for the love story to lead up to it, but it seems like they jump into bed with each other pretty quickly in the beginning of the book and then it just seemed like if they weren’t having sex then they were thinking of having sex with each other.
In some ways I understood why ?? wanted to be free from Colin but I didn’t particularly find him controlling etc the way it was made out he was.
I also didn’t really “get” his demons….he didn’t have “so many” like the synopsis would have you believe…he pretty much suffered with chronic guilt but there wasn’t anything else from what I could tell.
All in all this book seemed very much a poorly written Mills and Boon books with a ridiculously sugary sweet sappy ending (obviously the last lines are not sappy). I kept reading to the end because I kind of kept hoping it would improve and also because I loved the Fable and Drew books sooo much! I wanted to love this one but I honestly cannot say I even liked it. I really hope Fable’s brothers’ story is better written and the story padded out more and that its not rushed. Otherwise I will be a disappointed reader once again.
